Symptoms do come and go Spirael. Have heard far too many people say it for it not to be true

WickedWitchSouthWest · 12/11/2009 22:25

I have a lot of "air" too. Ahem.

This may have alot to do with the amount I've eaten today though .

gibbon you cary on with the gum, I'll keep going with the pork pies/cheese sarnies/lemon curd on toast

Although I do have some good news - I ate spinach and leek today too, finally something not beige to eat!

Amiable · 12/11/2009 22:25

Thanks for the welcome. Just popped back on before bed to let you know I am 39.

Speak to you all soon!

Emster30 · 12/11/2009 22:37

Definitely a lot of odd noises and air here too! No sore boobs though, which is surprising. Plus I haven't gone off coffee (yet) which I expected to do as I always do when I've got a cold.

Just got back from my committee meeting and talked confidently about the event I'm organising on 17 July... ahem! The next meeting is on 21 January so by then (fingers crossed) I should be able to tell them I can't do it.

There are so many of us now! Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

lifeistooshort · 13/11/2009 06:36

morning all. Well I fell out of bed this morning and am very very tired!. DH left at 4.30 to go on a business trip and I found it quite hard to fall asleep. I did eventually but then my alarm went off so I scrambled to the bathroom with difficulties, had my shower, came back to my bedroom to pick my watch before waking up DD for schoo. Only to realise that it was 6.00 when I picked my watch. My alarm probably went off in my dreams not in real life. So here I am at 6.00 am in full make up. I thought abour going back to bed but that would be pointless so I started working early (am working from home anyway)

Re party season, I weathered the first one yesterday with the bear trick. No one noticed anything as I was drinking from the bottle and covering the label.

Re symptoms, no MS for me but such back cramps and back ache already!!!

I am very excited at getting to know you all (apart from Ghouls because I already know her. I just wish we still leaved nearby).

There seem to be quite a big Bristol contingent!

Ghouls I remember you used to come to Bristol for work sometimes, do you still do? It would be nice to catch up if you did

violetbubbles · 13/11/2009 06:48

Morning everyone!

Been up for AGES!!! Enjoyed catching up on all your posts from last night.

I'm off out for dinner tonight and usually it would be a big red wine affair...but not tonight! So I've already planted the seed that I have been unwell for the past week and am on anti-biotics so probably won't be drinking tonight. I feel so bad lying to friends but can't be helped!

That's the booze taken care of, but what about the food? I can't stomach the smell of food cooking at the moment and all I've been able to eat this week is bland food...oh, I hope my friend doesn't notice that I'm bypassing her lovely cooking for bread and water!

About the bloatedness - it's the strangest thing! In the morning my stomach is pretty flat but as soon as I eat or drink anything it seems to get bigger, harder and rounder. By the time early evening comes I feel like I'm waddling!

I'm still worried about stuff, including that stupid Clearblue Digital test I did a couple of days ago and I'm still waiting for my antenatal appointment to come through. Fingers crossed it will arrive soon as I'm keen to have my blood tests done and my HCG levels checked. Until yesterday I didn't even know what HCG meant! I've learned a lot over the past week thanks to this forum!

lifeistooshort · 13/11/2009 07:21

violet I might be talking complete rubbish, but I thought HCG levels peaked and then dropped again or something. No science or link to back that up though!

WhatSheSaid · 13/11/2009 07:37

Just bookmarking as I haven't posted for a while. Not much on the symptom front here, bit of mausea and tiredness but not much. Friday evening here so enjoying a bit of trashy TV

WhatSheSaid · 13/11/2009 07:41

Nausea, nausea, not mausea!

BettyButterknife · 13/11/2009 08:15

Hello everyone!

Got my BFP yesterday, due 15 July, I think.

I'm in Bristol too, am 32 and this'll be baby number 2 for me.

Can't wait to get to know you all

Spirael · 13/11/2009 08:30

Hi Amiable! Welcome to the madness.

Thanks for the reassurance, Gibbon. I'm pleased (?) to report that I'm back to aching again this morning, so yesterday was evidently just a brief lull. It was around this time two cycles ago that I MC'd, so I get the feeling I'm going to be intermittently panicking for the next week or so.

I crashed out early last night, but I feel more awake this morning than I have for the past week. No MS yet, but I expect it'll catch up with me sooner or later. However I've noticed a complete inability to control my temperature; I'm roasting one minute and freezing the next! ... I assume that's normal?

I think I'm getting a bit fat bloated here too, as my clothes are a little tight already, though I haven't eaten yet today. Might need to dig out my larger clothes over the weekend. Fortunately I lost two clothes sizes last year (I really wanted to get down to 'normal' BMI before starting TTC), so I still have a lot of my bigger things stored in boxes. I'm a little distressed though that I'm getting larger already!

We do seem to be well represented from Bristol! London too, though I guess that one isn't particularly surprising, given its population. I seem to be all alone here in Yorkshire... Is there really no-one else in the Leeds/Bradford area??

Hope you all aren't feeling too bad today, unless of course you want to... In which case I hope you feel awful!!

Spirael · 13/11/2009 08:33

Firerise · 13/11/2009 08:33

Morning all! Thank you for all of your thoughts, I am feeling a lot more positive today because of them!

We have the hospital appointment at 12 and the results should be by 7pm. Fingers very tightly crossed that my little bean is fine just v early to pick up!

Hi to all the newbies! Lovely to see even more friendly faces!

Got a text from my best friend last night to say she has booked her wedding for 24th July! Ha ha ha!

X

lifeistooshort · 13/11/2009 08:45

Good luck Firerise I hope it all goes well. We'll be thinking of you.

Surely your best friend booking her wedding in July is a sign. Murphy's law and all that

GibbonInARibbon · 13/11/2009 09:00

Morning all

Firerise, thinking of you today and sending positive vibes, keeping everything crossed for you.

mousemole · 13/11/2009 09:01

morning all. Is anyone sleeping badly ?I drop off fine but have been waking up middle of the night and then not able to drop back off. Also have had erm,a very dodgy tummy. A lot of wind ( tmi) and really grumbly. Stuffing myself with 's seems to help though !

MissWooWoo · 13/11/2009 09:13

oooh yes me mousemole, last night I didn't get to sleep til past 1 0'clock (and even then only after a huge bowl of cornflakes and hot milk ... with sugar!!! I never have sugar on my cereal), woke at 4.30 tossing and turning til 6.30 when my dd woke up. Did get an extra hour though as made dp get up with her. quite right too!

Variations of the above over the last couple of weeks. Am sure this didn't happen in my first pregnancy til I was about 7 months! Would be up at all hours doing crosswords, watching tv, eating (obv) but that was fine as I was on maternity leave and didn't have a toddler to contend with during the day.

Best of luck today Firerise

mousemole · 13/11/2009 09:17

glad to hear I am not alonw misswoowoo. I was hungry as well - what's that all about at 4am ?!

MissWooWoo · 13/11/2009 09:20

gawd knows mousemole am taking full advantage until the morning sickness kicks in. Haven't gone off coffee yet either but have switched to decaff anyhow

MissWooWoo · 13/11/2009 09:22

oh and what is the bear trick lifeistooshort?

Irishfairy · 13/11/2009 09:25

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Firerise

Mousemole I know exactly how you feel. I'm really exhausted at night and go to bed early but then wake up plenty of times in the night. Also a few times had cramp like pains and thought oh no only for it to be wind

Also starving in the night a few times and couldn't sleep until I'd gone and eaten something.

Hope everyone is having a happy Friday!
I didn't have to work today which is so lovely especially since I have a horrible cold. I don't want it to get worse so spending the day in my pjs drinking honey and lemon tea and watching daytime tv

Does anyone know if it's ok to use olbas oil? The leaflet just says something like it is better not to use any non necessary medicine when pregnant or breastfeeding.

mousemole · 13/11/2009 09:30

oh yes IrishFairy - I've had lots of the 'windy' cramps !

lifeistooshort · 13/11/2009 09:33

irish fairy olbas oil is fine

Miss woowoo I meant the beer trick (but am too tired to spell correctly. Basically you order alcohol free beer (like becks blue) and just cautiously place your hands on the label. People think you drink real beer (but of course you have to get your own drinks or just ask for a becks blue hoping for the best and that no one will question this!)

MissWooWoo · 13/11/2009 09:41

tee hee lifeistooshort good one!

I've got a very big weekend coming up soon which will involve staying over at very close friend's house, the booze will be flowing from around 2pm sat afternoon. eek. It's just too early for me to tell anyone, esp as friend is also trying to conceive and has had some very hard times with it (lots of miscarriages). Have been doing WW for past 3 months so might have to play that card "oooh too many points in booze, have a christmas target to meet etc". Trouble is they all know I'm a total booze hound on weekends like this. Arrrrggghh dreading it, am sure she will just come out and ask me - we're quite candid about our attempts to conceive. Arrrggggh!
