lazyemma · 11/11/2009 20:45

oh no firerise. I don't know what to advise - I know nothing about hcg levels, other than that they can vary hugely in early pregnancy and the important thing seems to be how quickly they rise. Also see Champagne's post above - her first scan showed nothing and all was well in the end. Fingers crossed your hcg goes up lots by Friday.

grumpypumpkin · 11/11/2009 20:48

Bah! No sicky symptoms yet! Did POAS again this morning as had utterly convinced myself I was making it up, but obviously it was positive, much to the husbands amusement!

I am def going to get a private scan to see whats going on. I really want to enjoy all the excitement of this pregnancy.

Firerise- hope all is ok, really pleased you are getting checked out, sounds great that they are really investigating so when you get the all clear you can then relax.

Congratulations all newbies - hi to Curlycasper too - I have lurked on the BESHIE thread before but got my BFP and did not post (would have been roundly kicked out the door with that entrance!) so glad to hear of your BFP.

Good luck everyone!

GibbonInARibbon · 11/11/2009 21:36

Oh firerise I am pants at hcg levels too, know bugger all, am thinking of you and keeping everything crossed all ok x

I am sporting a pair of sea bands...I think they are helping with the nausea

Am off to bed now, sending positive vibes to all

WickedWitchSouthWest · 11/11/2009 22:01

oh firerise I wish I knew for you, I really do. I have read that hcg levels can actually drop in early pg only to rise again and everything be fine, so hope that's the case for you. Hope everything goes well Friday - we're rooting for you. Fingers crossed everything is ok.

heated I've seen the mw (obv as I have my scan date!) as we have an early bird clinic and they like to see you as soon as you get a bfp! Just because so much is happening in the first few weeks the mw's like to throw information at you and basically let you know they're there to help. But I do know alot of areas won't see you until 8wks.

oh Sea Bands! That's what I was supposed to get today at the shops - thanks gibbon. Glad to hear they're working

violetbubbles · 12/11/2009 06:47

Firerise - just saw your post about HCG levels. Sorry, but I am totally clueless about these things... It might be worth searching threads on other forums, like Baby & Bump www.babyandbump.com/ , which I've found quite helpful in the past. [hugs]

MumfieMagic - thanks for questioning your GP about scans. His words are reassuring!

_

I'm also looking for a bit of advice about conception indicators. Yesterday I stupidly POAS again, just to triple check I was pregnant (I know I'm becoming quite obsessed - I can't help it . When I tested last Thursday night I got a BFP with Clearblue Digital; and the conception indicator said 2-3 weeks. When I did it again yesterday, almost a week later, I got a BFP again but the conception indicator remained at 2-3 weeks. As my GP said I must be about 7 weeks gone I had expected the conception indicator to rise to 3+ weeks.

Now I'm worried! What does this mean? That the pregnancy hasn't advanced? Has anyone else experienced this with Clearblue Digital? And if so, what was the outcome?

Thanks

GibbonInARibbon · 12/11/2009 08:57

Violet, try not to worry, your levels may have just been on the 2 week mark last week and at the end of the 3 weeks this time IYKWIM. Please step away from the tests![stern] I know it's hard, I did the same thing myself last week, but they can drive you crazy and cause unnecessary stress. Hard as it is, try to relax

Hope the sea bands help you WWSW, you are having it worse than me by the sounds of it, I do hope they can give you some relief

Welcome all newcomers and congrats!

MissWooWoo · 12/11/2009 09:10

morning all!

oh WWSW ... I should be so lucky!!! I only had sex once last month but have been trying for about a year

Decided to give up on the ovulation kits after I apparently didn't ovulate at all the month before last

Was on my way back from the dr's when I felt a sudden sharp pain on one side, had sex within the hour and hey presto

Still can't believe my luck.

WickedWitchSouthWest · 12/11/2009 09:22

thanks gibbon. I'm v happy as dh is working at home today so he's got up and taken dd to pre school so I could die quietly in bed Just luxuriating in still being in my jammies before I jump in the shower Going to get the sea bands later.

misswoowoo I know what you mean about the opk's - I only ovulated 3 times in 7 months but I didn't trust the opk's really so I still got myself in a lather every month at the 2ww! It was third time lucky and lucky cycle 7 for us! dd was concieved first go so it was a bit of a shock having to wait.

The sun's out here today so I'm determined to be a bit more productive this morning - my house is a tip! Hope everyone is feeling ok (apart from those who WANT morning sickness, hope you've got it bad lol!)

MissWooWoo · 12/11/2009 09:32

yes bah to opk's!

CurlyCasper · 12/11/2009 09:39

Morning all and thanks for the warm welcome. LOL grumps ref being booted out the BESHie door!

I saw GP for unrelated matter yesterday and he said it was too soon to do anything about my pregnancy but to make an appointment now for three weeks's time (7-8weeksPG) so we can get all the paperwork done in time for 12 week scan etc.

To be honest, most of the first available appointments at our practice are in three weeks, so I've booked that already.

Can't get over the cramp-like pains I am experiencing, I feel like I should be having a really heavy period!

MissWooWoo · 12/11/2009 09:44

I'm having cramps on and off too CurlyCasper - awake at 5.30 this morning with gripping pain although this turned out to be wind! Still didn't stop me from having awful dream about something going wrong when I eventually got back to sleep.

lifeistooshort · 12/11/2009 09:52

Hello everyone, can I join? I am also hopping from the July bus. waves frantically at former july bus passengers
I am convinced that name changing thing at halloween worked!

I had my BFP yesterday

MissWooWoo · 12/11/2009 10:02

congratulations lifeistooshort and welcome.

funny thing superstition isn't it? I am convinced that I got pregnant because I'd had a bottle of champagne sitting in the fridge. Last time I got pregnant same thing happened. It sat there for the next 9 months looking at me as dp decided would be rude to open it and so we kept it as our good luck charm to be drunk after dd was born. Hoping to do the same with this bottle.

lifeistooshort · 12/11/2009 10:40

Here are my stats

Lifeistoo short due around 21st of July, it will be my third and I live in Bristol.

Am having a lot of cramps too and feel like I am permanently bloated (nice!) otherwise fine.

firerise I am so sorry to hear of your worries. I hope it all turns out ok. Thinking of you loads

Spirael · 12/11/2009 10:48

Morning all! I'm not convinced about OPKs either. I didn't get a positive at all last month and I started testing from the moment AF disappeared. But evidently I must have ovulated at some point!

I hope everything turns out ok for you, Firerise! I have my fingers crossed that those levels will be nice and high for the test on Friday.

Hope everyone with morning sickness isn't feeling too bad this morning, and everyone without that wants it starts to feel worse soon!

Nothing much to report here... My chest still aches and I'm exhausted in the evenings, but nothing in the way of morning sickness... Yet? After my lunch and second lunch on Tuesday, I ended up having dinner and second dinner yesterday. I seem to be adding in an extra meal to my day. Trying desperately to make sure I eat relatively healthy though. Not had any chocolate all week, and I honestly can't remember the last time I had crisps or the like.

I've booked my first appointment with the MW on Monday 23rd, when I'll be 5-6 weeks. When I spoke to the GP earlier in the year about TTC, I was told just to make an appointment with the MW once I got a positive, nothing about waiting until 8 weeks. So, that's what I've done! Not sure if it'll actually be the booking in, or whether they'll make me take a test and tell me to come back a couple of weeks later to be booked in.

For my superstition, I'm pretty sure I was going to get my BFP this month regardless whether or not DH and I actually DTD at the right time! The reason being that both my best friend and my DH share the same birthday - 25th July. CD1 of my cycle would have put me at 22nd July for my due date, but then I mysteriously ovulated 3 days late for no apparent reason.

Spirael · 12/11/2009 10:51

Hi and welcome, Lifeistooshort! I've added you to the list... Hopefully I won't end up cross posting with someone else doing the same thing!

lazyemma · 12/11/2009 12:54

violet please try not to worry - those conception indicators are notoriously unreliable, and when I've been googling about my own BFP worries I've seen loads of queries about those particular digital tests, where everything has turned out fine in the end.

GlastonburyGoddess · 12/11/2009 13:42

Hi just joining the board after lurking for a week or so, got my BFP tuesday last week and havent yet posted as I only told my partner monday. Now thats done I feel I can post!
this is baby number 3 for me, and so far everything is going well, just bloated and getting heartburn++ hoping that ms doesnt strike too badly as I had it all the way through with my first!

HangingOnTheTrubliphone · 12/11/2009 14:35

Hello everyone!

Can I join you?

BFP this morning, due 14 July 2010. I am in Bristol too, and this will be my second DC. 32 now but my 33rd birthday in 3 weeks time - can't believe I won't be able to celebrate birthday/Christmas/New Year with a glass of bubbly! Bad timing - almost exactly the same as with my first DC!

Page62 · 12/11/2009 14:44

oh firerise keeping everything crossed for you and hopefully all ok and everyone just being cautious.

this is my #3 and i had terrible MS with previous 2. Nothing yet here but DH did remind me that with #2 it came a bit later as we thought i got away with it. then i was sick about 5 times a day till the 24th week. so we'll see.

just a bit harassed at work at the moment. nov is such a hell month for me every year, on top of this, i have been approached by another company to work for them. all very flattering but i did tell them about pregnancy - just believe in laying cards on table. would be interesting if they will still be interested -- they said they didn't care, but proof is in the pudding!

hope all you ladies are feeling ok, except for the ones who want all the glory of MS!

congratulations to new joiners. welcome lifeistooshort, we were on july bus together!

Irishfairy · 12/11/2009 15:04

hi all and welcome to the newbies! lifeistooshort I remember you from the july bus great to see you over this side!

Well I was one of the ones wishing for ms and today bang on 6 weeks I've been nauseous all afternoon so far but haven't been sick so hoping to stay at this level... Probably no such luck though. I've found those sour satsumas to help.

Anyone else very bloated? My tummy is flat in the morning but a few hours later a definite potbelly that's worse by evening! I'm assuming it's just another weird pg symptom
