Re baby movements: I read about this a couple of hours ago on the papmpers site.

Partyofsixsoontobeseven · 11/11/2009 14:31

LMAO at the tone this thread has been taking lately.

Back to reality - I have days when baby doesn't really move at all unless I poke it a bit and then it protests with a kick. But then days like today when it hasn't stopped moving all day.

bethoo your position sounds good but if dh tried to put my leg anywhere near my head I would be in traction for a month.
And re: the back entry thing - no amount of alcohol is going to make me agree to that. OMG I've just realised I AM A PRUDE, no back entry and no bj me thinks my poor dh is hard done by.

Fraochsmum · 11/11/2009 14:44

Hahaha! The posts about sex and semen swallowing are making me laugh out loud! Just as well I'm at home reading this
We are still able to manage several positions, but would agree with Bethoo's one if you are uncomfortable - a lot more interactive than spoons. Liked on top because it was good exercise, but last time felt really uncomfy down there.
Flightoffancy, I have still got a lot of movement, but they are more like you are describing and I put it down to the lack of space.
Had my 32 week check today and all was well - and I'm getting a scan in 3 weeks! Haven't seen cashew since 12 weeks so really excited. It will also give us a view of how he is lying, mw still can't quite feel now. She thinks his head is down with the back arching round to my left, but couldn't feel the head. I am assuming he has one...
Ali, I would press for a scan as well. I am quite easy going, but would certainly be worried even with assurances.
CTOFN, hope all is well with your results.

shinybaubles · 11/11/2009 15:52

Sorry that's my fault lowering the tone of this thread .

Mama2b5 · 11/11/2009 16:53

ermm is this the type of talk i miss out on when i not been on here for like a ermm day! Sex & Semen hahhahahahaha
I was at work and had to wait for home for me to continue reading! im with you on being a prude - Party of 6!!!
My DH is a wonderful person and i really feel like he is getting a raw deal when it comes to the whole sex-cant be asked, dont even -go - there, r -u kidding -me, way-to -tired!, in-too-much-pain! you would need a forklift to get me up and over! (i spend 15 mins trying to get out of the bath the other night! everyone was a sleep!)
I am diff goin to try and make the effort maybe surprise him in the day when im on leave! not till 13 days though! but he has waited this long so a few more days wont bother him!
have anyone been catching he baby birth programs! watched one today and felt sick( way to much filming in the ermm baby coming- out area!) i actually tried to cross my legs soon after! abit to late now!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 17:10

Evening all. After 4 hours at Maternity Day Unit with 6 yr old DD (who was a star), I had to complain to be let home to get my 10 yr old DS from school. Managed to get them to agree to call me with the blood results!! So I am now waiting for a phone call which should come by 6.30pm to tell me if a) bloods are fine, in which case, they still want me to go back to visit Dr tomorrow am or b) bloods indicate cholestasis and I have to go back as an IN PATIENT tonight!!!

DH is away, no family close by - aaarrrggh. Have managed to contact MIL to ask if she can be on stand by if need her, but she's just come off a week of night shifts and was sleeping - felt so awful. She also lives an hour away.

Fingers crossed bloods are fine - which I think they will be......

crumpette · 11/11/2009 18:06

cantthink that's great that they're keeping such a close eye on it, if it's any consolation if it's OC you will usually get itching on soles of feet really badly too. Liver function tests may come back OK, but if they have done bile acid tests they will be the key, if those are normal then you are fine.
What they would do, if they call you back, is probably monitor you and give you some menthol-based cream to ease the itching, and poss deliver baby slightly early (37-39 weeks). They sometimes give you a drug called ursodeoxycholic acid but depends on your hospital, no new evidence really suggests it helps baby much it just eases the itching.

Good luck, hopefully with your allergies it's a reaction to something lurking in the gaviscon!

As for me, I have clearly missed a few vital days on this thread! wow! not me at all this pregnancy though, I'm afraid, no interest whatsoever. With DD I was quite a nympho, but yes couldn't be further from that now. DP keeps saying in a disappointed tone 'aww but you weren't like this last time..' haha

had a scan today, baby now enormous. I don't have gestational diabetes though, he is clearly being overfed. Estimated weight of 4lb 8oz??? ALREADY???? !!!!

yikes...

Fraochsmum · 11/11/2009 18:06

Fingers crossed for you xxx

quirkychick · 11/11/2009 18:15

CTFN good luck with your blood tests. Fingers crossed that they all come back negative.

shinybaubles · 11/11/2009 18:24

Goodluck CTOFN hope you get good news when they call.
How far along are you crumpette don't suppose you know that in kilos, I have a scan on Friday and I am pretty sure this baby will be huge, going by my bump.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 18:54

Hello lovely ladies - Shiny - you are so graceful taking the blame for lowering the tone, but all you did was ask if everyone was nymph like, which is not really too bad.... I am afraid I have to hold hands up to suggesting semen swallowing when overdue. I think that took the tone to new levels but Bethoo I believe was the one who mentioned anal sex!!!

Still, we could all do with a few laughs now and then!!!

Bloods still not back and won't be tonight, so I'm off the hook for now (phew). Have to go in apparently straight away if I get itching again tonight (but why I ask, they can't really do anything through the night can they?). Anyway, in all likelihood even if I do get itching, I'm just going to go in at 9.30am tomorrow morning as planned and once kids safely at school!

Ahhh CTOFN- i hope all is well, these appt can be so long and the thought of being in the hospital with a little one in tow then thinking of the others to be collected is so stressful! these people in the hospital dont know how much your dealing with so its a shame they couldnt suggest a better time for this appt!

Lowering the tone LOL- its all fun! well we have all done the act aint we thats why are bellies are growing?????????
although there are things i so aint ever goin to consider doing! but thats so just me!

was just watching news to hear about that awful story of the boy who had abused a child then was able to do it again to another child

crumpette · 11/11/2009 19:43

shiny I think it was 2.18 or something, it's on a scan report left in the car. I audibly yelped when the sonographer told me in pounds, DD was just over 6lb at 40 weeks!

aaaaahhh!

lottie good to see you back on here, hope you are doing OK? internet baby shopping is a good way to pass the time (sobs at bank balance due to unnecessary purchases!)

your girlies sound really healthy, well done!

ctofn fingers crossed no more itching, I had cholestasis in 1st pregnancy, so any q's ask, but do rest assured they won't take drastic action immediately they'll just take better care good luck

lilacpink · 11/11/2009 21:07

Hi all

I haven't been on for awhile due to stress of having my kitchen replaced and patio re-laid at the same time, mud/dust everywhere! (Sorry for the moan, I know that some have much more important concerns). Thankfully it's almost over now, and this thread has given me a good laugh . I find on top the only partially comfy position, but he's only getting it once a week if that.

flightoffancy RE. NCT Mums talking about their babies, I think all new Mums in new groups in RL tend to focus on the things that are happening rather than not happening. I've never found it here on MN or with friends, but I did find some other Mums seemed competitive and that this can carry on until DCs are toddlers - when they all seem to 'even-up' on the things they can do. I think it's worse that books say what should happen and when (i.e. development 'milestones'). It's as though there is a pressure to be 'normal' or in some cases 'advanced'. My first preg was far from normal (I'll admit I hated it as spent most of 9mths hanging over a toilet bowl), when born my DD didn't want to move (let alone walk) until 14mths of age, but decided to talk early (but this was all normal for her). It's easier to have a sense of 'all will be ok' the second time around. Ironically, or maybe because, I'm more relaxed and this preg has been completely by-the-book!

MissMarjoribanks · 11/11/2009 21:40

Hello all - I've been lurking for a while and just bucked up the courage to introduce myself. I'm 30 weeks with our first child, who is due on 15th January and is apparently a boy, married for 3 years and live just south of Manchester.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 21:42

Welcome MissMarjoribanks. Was it the change in tone that encouraged you to introduce yourself ?!

devotion · 11/11/2009 21:55

CantThinkofFunnyName - ha ha stop encouraging the naughty talk you! We obvoiously have got tired of piles, braxton hicks, weight gain and cravings

Sex talk always brings a smile to everyones face though. I just read this page and read someone had now talked about anal sex? I missed that one!!!

My dh he said he loved it when i am pregnant because its the only time i am up for "bum fun" ... I dont know where he gets that from because I can count one one hand how many times we have "tried" that one! The idea of it is more enjoyable than the actual act to me.

Ahem... right back to braxton hicks and leg cramps....

Welcome MissMarjoribanks, congratulations on the birth of your first baby! Mumsnet will come in very handy along your journey into motherhood. I first came on here when I was five months pregnant with my first in 2003 and I use it to get advice on everything. Its fantastic!!!

I hope you have been enjoying your pregnancy so far and its not been a rough ride. If you need to have a moan then come on here, we are a friendly lot!

Take care
x

devotion · 11/11/2009 21:57

My god, you would think my dd age 6 typed that message. I feel like I have fingers like a hammer bashing all the wrong keys... must use preview!

MissMarjoribanks · 11/11/2009 21:58

CTOFN - hello. Yes, the sex stuff might have encouraged me a little bit.

Totally off sex until about 14 weeks, but absolutely gagging for it since. DH is completely terrified of the bump (I'm carrying it all out front) and tends to back away slowly and carefully when I suggest any shagging shenanigans. We've only done it a couple of times and I think they were sympathy shags. His look of utter horror when I said I'd go on top was both funny and depressing in equal measure.

Libido is dropping now as everything begins to hurt.

MissMarjoribanks · 11/11/2009 22:04

Hello devotion as well. Lurking on MN for the last 6 weeks has taught me a great deal, as well as made me regret not doing more pelvic floor exercises.

Having read other people's stories it seems my pregnancy has been a fairly smooth ride so far but not the most enjoyable experience of my life I must say. Still, as my mother says, it's only 9 months and I'll have a baby (and a glass of G&T) in the end.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 22:06

LOL at sympathy shags!! Shinybaubles is also gagging for it all the time apparently. Have to say I am imagining the shagging shenanigans in your house, which I probably shouldn't admit to and its making me LMAO!

MissMarjoribanks · 11/11/2009 22:22

CTOFN - wouldn't take a great deal of imagination. I've just realised the last decent shag we had actually resulted in the conception of the now awfully scary bump.

missjackson · 11/11/2009 22:29

Ha ha, came on here from Jan 2009 thread to wish you luck, all nostalgic for my bump, only to find you all talking about bum sex and sympathy shags ! That's the spirit....

Well, 1 year on and my neat little bump is now a whopping great 9 month old baby boy, about to take his first steps and calling me 'mama'. I'm sure it's words to the wise, but just wanted to say enjoy every precious second of late pregnancy and newbabyhood, with all it's ups and downs, because it goes by so, so quickly .

OK, now back to the bum sex....

Mama2b5 · 12/11/2009 08:58

Welcome - missmajoribanks- please forgive the low tone its not usual like this LOL xx
