Mama2b5 - ahh your dd sounds lovely. Can I borrow her

CantThinkofFunnyName - that made me laugh swallowing sperm??? are you serious? I tricked my partner into thinking I was into that in our earlier dating days when I was seducing him. As soon as I got him I put an end to that - or on it should I say

Although the most I have been is 3 days over so i think I would try anything if I was 10 days over!

Well you will really be welcoming the new year in Good for you!!!

Even though I will still be 4 weeks away from my due date I will be having a couple of drinks.

At the momeny I have a glass of red with my Sunday dinner.

Partyofsixsoontobeseven - jealous you are so close to your maternity leave... lucky you!!!

I can not wait to see my friends babies, spoke to one today when she was at the hospital and I heards her little baby start to cry in the background and it just broke my heart. I could not talk because I was trying to hold my tears in. He sounded so cute!!! I had a boo when I came off the phone and then laughed at myself. What an emotional wreck I am!!!

maygirl · 10/11/2009 22:30

I'm a bit the same as you shiny !!

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 01:30

Devotion - unfortunately yes v serious

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 01:35

So I'm up at a ridiculous hour because I was woken tonight with some kind of allergic reaction to something. Had the most awful itching of my hands. It was a deep inside body allergic type reaction. Then my stomach (inside) started itching - which is how I usually start off an allergic reaction after eating seafood and drinking alcohol together.

About 30 minutes prior to this I had had a swig of Gaviscon from the bottle then a sip of water and went back to sleep. The Gaviscon bottle is almost finished, no other symptoms before.

I am an allergic sort and have asthma, usual allergies of pollen, dust mites and a rather serious co-consumption anaph. reaction to seafood and alcohol. The only other thought is that I treated myself hmm to a shandy tonight, homemade ie a little lager and lemonade. But it really was hours ago and I've had a few shandies during this pg as one of the only alcoholic drinks I can tolerate/like during pg. Anyway... I ended up having to get up because the itchy reaction was spreading through my body and I've taken some piriton syrup. The itching is now subsiding. But how odd? To be woken with this when the only thing that passed my lips was a tiny swig of Gaviscon (and water) that I've been taking for months...

Also - not sure that Piriton is a good idea in pg, but tbh, I figured reward outweighed the risk!

Indeed, having pottered on here for 20 minutes, I can safely say that the itching and burning inside has now gone, so must have been allergy to something and most likely whatever was left sediment wise in the bottle of Gaviscon!!! Hmmmm - how the hell do I narrow that allergy down?!?!

helenabeth · 11/11/2009 08:06

CantThink - don't want to worry you but please do phone the midwife or doctor. Excessive itching can be a sign of other problems and even if it's subsided, you should let them know.
Hope you are feeling better this morning.

quirkychick · 11/11/2009 09:57

CTFN I'm going to second what helenabeth says that itching can be serious so it is worth getting checked out. Sure you are fine though.

I also am swigging the Gaviscon. What did pg women do before that? Heartburn is so horrible!

alibobins · 11/11/2009 10:10

Midwife didn't seem too bothered by the bleeding I had some more last night but this was alot thicker but still red blood rang the midwife back who said as long as i'm still feelin movement then not too worry but that is easier said then done

CTOFN Hope you manage to catch up on some rest and agree with others on giving midwife a call even if she just offers advice on what to do if it happens again I've got a Ds who's severly allergic to lots of things and requires an epi-pen and his allergies seem worse if he is feeling a little run down.

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 10:22

Thanks everyone. Feeling fine this morning, no itching at all. My first thought last night was obstetric cholestasis and I will mention it to the mw but tbh, I'm not convinced. I carry an epipen due to severe allergic reaction to seafood and alcohol and apart from airways closing, last night's episiode was classic allergy - it's just the cause that bothers me.

Alibobins - you must be going through hell , its great that the mw says not to worry, but I understand your concerns. Have they scanned you etc?

bethoo · 11/11/2009 10:26

ctofn yes call mw as there is a liver problem which has a symptom of itchy hands.
also ref bj, no way on this earth would i do that but i do know that is is right that the hormones in it can set off labour but i will stick to the old fashioned way thank you!

alibobins · 11/11/2009 10:34

The last scan I had was in August the midwife did say if it carries on then I will need to be seen but my next appointment isn't untill 23rd Nov.
I was being seen weekly due to blood pressure being up but that settled and now another problem starts.
I'm glad I finished work last week so at least I can take things easy.

bethoo · 11/11/2009 10:37

alibobin it may have been a bit of your plug that came away?

CantThinkofFunnyName · 11/11/2009 11:41

MW just called - I have to go straight to hospital! Bloody hell. Have 6 yr old DD off today with stomach upset. DH gone to Guernsey for couple of nights on work. Typical.

Ho hum - will report back later with undoubtedly reports of all clear blood tests.....

somewhathorrified · 11/11/2009 11:41

Albion if it's worrying you nag your MW, seriously we all pay for their services and worrying will do you and your baby no good at all!

Regarding swallowing semen: er...I never say never, but it really does make me vomit...just wondering if you mix it in a cuppa it wouldn't be so bad .

bethoo · 11/11/2009 11:48

well if it was chocoalte flavoured i would not have a problem with it! but needless to say not even if you offered me a million squids! it is just the yuckiest thing! the smell, texture, gosh i am gong to retch just thinking about it! i sound like such a prude! good job he has no qualms withe cunnilingus

somewhathorrified · 11/11/2009 11:49

Ctofn good luck

bethoo · 11/11/2009 11:52

yes good luck, i am sure it is just a check ot make sure it was just an allergic reaction you had.x

Partyofsixsoontobeseven · 11/11/2009 12:54

Hi all

good luck can't think hope its ok, I had a weekend of worrying about it didn't I but everything back to normal now. GP did say coz bloods came back normal but I am still itchy legs and hands that it is just hormonal.

Alibobins, Its so hard not to worry about bleeding but like has been said before, stress won't do babes or you any good either. Thinking of you.

Bethoo, I'm with you, whats good for me is not happening to him!! everyone at work thinks i'm a prude and selfish for not repaying him, but we must be doing something right eh! or we wouldn't be on this thread.

TMI alert re: the S word, we are still doing it regularly but have to spoon (but still in right hole iykwim) as bump in the way. DH keeps saying it would be more comfy if i go on top, NOT on you life matey, beached whale naked comes to mind.

Partyofsixsoontobeseven · 11/11/2009 12:57

PS and I would rather go a month overdue than put that in my mouth, do they not know its for peeing out of !!!!!! apt smiley don't you think

bethoo · 11/11/2009 13:07

partyofsix i like you way of thinking! even spooning is uncomfortable but there is a better way where you lie on your back and he more or less on his side and just put your legs over his and hey presto access! then he can do what he wants with your legs a mine were up by my head last night! . and there is nothing wrong wiht using hte back entrance though that is usually after a few drinks so has been outhte picture for a while! having piles does not help either sorry if TMI!

sockmonkey · 11/11/2009 13:22

at you ladies. At least you are getting some

FlightofFancy · 11/11/2009 13:27

To tear you all way from the exciting subject of sex (if you must know, we're struggling to fit in time and DH finds it a bit odd if he gets kicked during...).

Anyway, how have other people found movement from 28-29 weeks onward - I know that every baby is different, but I've noticed that it's a lot less about big kicks and more about squirming and small movements now. Is that a space thing? Mentioned it to midwife last week, and she wasn't worried, but I still fret! I do seem to have days where baby is very quiet - but then I suspect it's moving around a lot at night while I'm asleep as I do notice a lot of movement when I occasionally wake up to go to the loo (sorry to those who are struggling, one of my few talents is an ability to sleep through anything and everything!). Baby is transverse at the moment (hopefully in process of turning to sensible position according to midwife).

There's no real 'pattern' at the moment so I'm not sure when to be worried and when to presume that the poor child is just bored of me poking it. Not helped by people at NCT class talking about how their babies respond to music/torches/voices.. can tap dance already etc, etc.

Sorry to rattle on a bit - am paraniod that this is all too easy at the moment, and first timer so nothing to compare!

somewhathorrified · 11/11/2009 13:28

LMAO!

Have to agree about the semen, surely if you were supposed to consume it nature would have made it taste nice...and oooh you can so taste while down there if they haven't washed since the last pee! OMG so TMI...sorry.

And yes back entry is VERY dependant on copiuos amounts of alchohol for me too. Tbh the lack of bedroom action here is more about a completely lack of libido, I think my brain has adjusted to being a baby incubator rather than a pleasure temple. Poor DH.

shinybaubles · 11/11/2009 13:31

That's great Maygirl nice not to be the only one.
CTOFN hope everything's ok.

Where there's a will there's a way - literally - just have to think a bit outside the box - I agree bethoo and partyofsix. Fraocshsmum yep also too tired in the evening, it's early morning or during the day for us too.

bethoo · 11/11/2009 13:34

flightoffancy i noticed wiht mine that if they were active one day they tended to be quiet the next. it is all to do with space as the baby gets bigger so no need ot panic, as long as there is movement of some sort going on in there. drink cold sugary drinks if ever worried, mine react with coke (but then that is all i seem to drink!!). i am 32 weeks and all was quiet for a while. but unless i am really paying attention i dont notice what is going on. bedtime is a nightmare though as feels like she is trying ot poke her way out! elbows or knees protrude out!

for those with low libido, i have been there before and just said ''if you want some nookie just dont wake me!!''

shinybaubles · 11/11/2009 13:44

flightoffancy I have noticed this also there is very little space at this point. My baby is also transverse as was ds. I feel more movements if I am just resting also I have noticed more movements when eating chocolate. Was once sent out of a scan and told to have a can of coke and a bar of chocolate to make the baby move - it worked- maybe you can try if you get desperate.
