Cairn I stopped at 33+4 as it fitted with the end of half term and I didn't think I would be up to going back after a week off. Take the opportunity to get organised. Hope everything goes well.

GoldenSnitch · 09/11/2009 16:58

Lol champagne The grass is always greener - or in this case browner eh?

trying to find bex get on pramos i found you something!

sorry girls as you were

Moosy · 09/11/2009 17:39

I haven't worked outside of home since DD1, then I was supposed to finish at 36 weeks but got signed off at 34 weeks as my ribs were so painful I couldn't sit down for more than 10 minutes. Now I'm finding it very tiring with a 4yo and 2.5yo at home with me!

madmissy · 09/11/2009 17:44

Girls are wearing me out too! look forward to bedtimes

my ribs are so sore but seems to be easing where hes dropping down slowly

Claire236 · 09/11/2009 18:07

I'd planned on finishing at 34 weeks having attempted to work until 38 weeks with ds1 who then arrived at 36 weeks. Actually been signed off since 27 weeks.

Last 30 mins started having period type pains & bump feels very tight. Different to bh I've been getting, could this be the start? I don't remember this sort of pain with ds1.

madmissy · 09/11/2009 18:14

had that all day yesterday was awful

you will know when its real thing. when are you due?

Claire236 · 09/11/2009 18:29

Due 7 Dec. The worry for the last 9 weeks about him coming early has made me paranoid I think. Don't remember all these weird pains with ds1.

madmissy · 09/11/2009 18:53

not long.

i dont rem my BH being so painful and so strong either and this is my 3rd!

when labour started with dd2 i ^knew& straight off instinct kicks in

AmazingBouncingFerret · 09/11/2009 19:22

Im paying for all of todays shenanigans. I can now barely walk! DS got put to bed an hour early lol poor soul.
Im now going to settle down and watch some House and do my usual wondering of how much more fanciable Hugh Laurie can get.

GoldenSnitch · 09/11/2009 20:32

I bought DS's christas present today - and gave it to him!

We've got him a balance bike and want to be able to take it to Center Parcs with us as we'll not get such a good chance to use it until next summer otherwise. We've given it to him now so that he can get used to it before we get there. He's too little to realise that he got his Christmas present early and with 4 aunts and 4 uncles plus 3 adoring Grandparents, he'll be so spoiled on the day that he won't miss a big present from Mummy and Daddy. We've got him a few little stocking things and a board game so he won't have nothing to open.

It'll be OK right?

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/11/2009 07:53

I dont see anythign wrong with that snitch. He'll get some good use out of it at centre parcs as opposed to sitting in a cupboard for the cold winter months not being used because its hard to get out there after a C-section plus having to bundle new baby up.
Its the best decision really.
Im going out to buy DS B'day present. Having to go all the way to Tamworth to the big mothercare to get it because ELC wont give me staff discount on already reduced items yet mothercare will. Its stupid! Oh well get to look at all the nice baby stuff whilst im there plus theres a big Next and M&S...

GoldenSnitch · 10/11/2009 09:20

Yey, that's what I think too

Although I had one of those super clear pregnancy dreams last night that he was scooting along really fast and I couldn't catch up with him cause I was so fat and he was having so much fun that he wouldn't stop when I called him and I was shouting and shouting and then he went into a road and got run over!! It was so clear!

Considering getting one of those extendable dog leads to attach to it so I can stop him if I need to...

am at home today on a sneaky day's leave before i start maternity properly on thurs. making buns and stew and doing lots of fun jobs like that. just want to pack hospital bag this aft and then will feel i have really got some major stuff done. caught a glimpse of my stretch marks in the mirror...they are BAD!! can't normally see them as they are under my bump but they look terrible. all my moisturising has not paid off...
Cairn i am only working this late so i can maximise my leave once i am off as my maternity pay is not so great. i cannot wait to finish now though as 45 min commute through dark yorkshire countryside is very draining!!!

FedUpWithRainyDevon · 10/11/2009 14:19

Yeek woke up this morning to find bump is WAY lower than it was yesterday!!! I had a bad night's sleep with lots of movements and aching lady parts and now I know why!!! Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch my back really hurts too.

(Sorry for whinge, feeling a bit sorry for myself, did anyone notice?)

[whingeing emoticon]

madmissy · 10/11/2009 16:39

Milliemuffin · 10/11/2009 18:29

Also an FB addict, especially farmville, flippin thing, wish I'd never started! so addictive!

Anyway, a thought occured to me the other day, I was thinking we had everything a baby could possibly need as DS is only 2 and then I realised he was born in july so slept in a vest and blanket for the first few months as it was so hot!

What are you all planning to put your little ones to bed in? I have a first size sleeping grobag but obviously never used it with DS til he was about 4 months old. Are you all getting snowsuits? Before or after the birth and if before what size?

Belly has been quite hard across the front for last couple of days, assuming its just babies position, still feeling movement but just seems hard.

cairnterrier · 10/11/2009 18:42

Thanks for everyone's messages, feeling a bit better now. V strange day, vv emotional in the wee hours of the morning, had a cup of tea, asleep on the sofa from 8 - 10 then went to bathroom to find that bump had suddenly dropped! Feeling absolutely fine now and really enjoying being able to breathe properly and more strangely hearing my tummy gurgle for the first time in ages. I guess it's been too compressed up until now.

Made DH go and buy nappies and cotton wool and things just in case this means something!!

legscrossed · 10/11/2009 20:24

Hi all
as a first timer and not due to see mw for couple weeks, brief question.
Am 36/7 weeks and bmp low with period aches n all the pre mentioned stuff..........but have also noticed my pubic bone seems to be separating and kind of in 2.
I've heard talk of spd, is this it n frankly so late on I guess its just a case of sit things out till all over. Am said to be 2/5 engaged.
As you can imagine can hardly walk normally, so tend not to!

AmazingBouncingFerret · 10/11/2009 20:48

legscrossed I think it sounds like things are just "getting going" IYKWIM. Its not long now.
From what ive heard SPD is awful pain in the hips. But im sure someone here is more knowledgable than me.
Just keep your feet up and get other people to do things for you!

cairnterrier I also had a huge hormonal thing at the weekend was feeling very emotional and weepy and hey presto bump has dropped and get that lovely odd feeling of something between my legs if I sit at certain angles.

milliemuffin With DS I also didnt use a grobag until a couple of months old, unsure why as they are ok to use from birth. Also DS didnt wriggle round so much in sleep so he pretty much kept his blankets on. Once he became more twitchy and mobile I started using one.
Ive bought one snowsuit in newborn size and have also been given one in age 3-6 months.

madmissy · 10/11/2009 22:17

Re; the spd possiblity

unless you are in agony and very sore (not just uncomfy etc) then its just par and parcel i'm afraid. slowly engaging more and the head has to get out. my hips are bigger and stayed bigger after my dd's

did that make sense im talking such crap tonight
