Hello everyone! Congratulations Snowfalls and doubly so to mumsylady

Good luck to the waiting ladies... you're nearly there!

I wonder how stayfrosty is?

Minshu · 02/10/2009 16:06

Ooh - isn't it quiet? Looking forward to StayFrosty's update, and any others. Anyone?

There seem to be a lot of longer pregnancies in my family, too, mrswee. Has the advantage of them being more sensitive in asking for progress, at least

Will try howling at the moon on Sunday .

Minshu · 02/10/2009 16:16

Hmm - not so sure about the effect full moon. Just had a look at our stats and there's not a single birth from our thread on the last full moon, 4th Sept. Oh well.

mrswee · 02/10/2009 19:46

Yes and I was born on a new moon, total opposite!
But I am holding on to any hope I have of this baby actually being born sooner rather than later

Was at the doctors today, my blood pressure has gone down again, which is reassuring.

Minshu · 03/10/2009 06:57

Glad to hear bp is back down - there can be quite a variation even over a few minutes. Mine was a little higher than normal for me the other day, but I'm certain that was due to me forgetting to bring a sample and having to rush down the corridor and back to perform before having my bp done mw wasn't concerned, anyway.

For ages, I'd had 3rd October in mind for my big day, but can't see it happening now. The only discomfort in my belly right now is related to the fish and chips we had last night. Feeling reasonably "relaxed" now that there is an end date in sight, though.

Won't stop me howling at the moon tomorrow, though

Wonder if we'll get any more news today?

mrswee · 03/10/2009 22:39

Thanks!
Attempted to tempt fate today by going on an epic trip to Ikea with my parents in law, with out my DH... thought at least fate would make my waters break at the checkout or in the Ikea cafe on a busy Saturday in front of thousands while my PIL looked on in horror!! ... needless to say didn't work.

My friends had a baby girl this morning.
Right on due date!.... I'm so jealous and of course very pleased for them...

Come on baby!!

Minshu · 04/10/2009 06:21

We tried the tempting fate in Ikea thing a fortnight ago - obviously with similar results... Did you actually get what you needed, furniture-wise?

Tried the sex thing last night and have had a broken night's sleep since then due to constantly needing the loo and now cramps and a bloody show. Although this is positive and does indicate further dilation, I'm not going to get my hopes up that labour will start spontaneously, as this is how I was last Monday. Now sat on my ball with a hotwater bottle strapped to my back.

Tempted fate by getting a nice looking half leg of lamb out of the freezer yesterday for Sunday dinner, so that could work...

Pleased for your friends, and it will be us soon

FairySparkles · 04/10/2009 10:11

Hi girls - sorry haven't been on for ages; Minshu; still no baby then hun!!?....and Frosty??? How are my other fellow 22nd due daters doing?? - and the rest of you hanging in there?
.....well here's my BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT:
Baby Girl (shock - was convinced I was having a boy!) born 21:45 on Fri night - Lola Paisley weighed a big fat 8lb 9oz and is just lush! Got home yesterday afternoon and thankfully dd thinks shes pretty cool so that a bonus!
started having contractions wed night which dragged on till I got fed up and went to hospital fri aft - I was only 2-3cm so they sent me home; but by 8pm I was needing something stronger than the reccommended 'couple of paracetamol!' so got to hospital at 8.30 - I was 5-6cm, an hour later I pushed for 15mins and she was here - just gas and air; well chuffed!!
....so a lengthy 'latent phase' and a VERY speedy 'established'

Well good luck to everyone else still waiting - will catch up again as soon as I can!! (its just dawning on me just how full my hands are gonna be with 2 girls under 2!!)

Thusnelda · 04/10/2009 11:10

Congratulations FairySparkles!

And best of luck to Minshu and Mrswee - it can't me much longer now!

Minshu · 04/10/2009 14:07

Fabulous news, FairySparkles!! Great to hear from you. Congratulations. I'm sure you'll find a way to deal with the two of them.

Not feeling very comfortable with irregular crampings, so hoping that things will start properly for me some time soon. But, will be induced on Tuesday, anyway.

mrswee · 04/10/2009 15:32

congrats fairysparkles! lots of girls being born

nothing to report today either! you'd think almost 5 hours in ikea would have done it!!

mrswee · 04/10/2009 15:38

sorry minshu just spotted your post...

it was the first time I've ever been to ikea and spent less than £80, I didn't really need anything, we've bought it all already, my PIL were going anyway, I just joined them purely in a move to try and get this baby out.

Things sound promising for you! At least anyway if nothing happens tonight then hopefully your induction should be nice and quick as you are already somewhat on your way!

Minshu · 04/10/2009 17:13

Amost 5 hours in Ikea?!? - I admire your stamina, mrswee.

Definitely had a "proper" show now. Am going to have little power nap in case things step up a gear this evening.

mummyhill · 04/10/2009 17:28

Congratulations fairysparkles.

Finger crossed for you Minshu.

mrswee · 04/10/2009 19:52

yep almost 5 hours...!! granted some where in the cafe.

Oh good luck minshu, I hope this it for you .... I'm looking out my window at the full moon right now!

mrswee · 04/10/2009 19:52

Congratulations on all the new arrivals ladies Some lovely names and some eye watering weights!

Minshu I hope that things kicked off for you overnight and that you can avoid the induction process.

Good luck to those still waiting xx

bigbang · 05/10/2009 10:22

Congratulations to the new mummies!

Good luck to those still waiting- it will happen, they will come out!

mrswee · 05/10/2009 14:16

Congratulations at last stayfrosty!

Minshu is quiet today... hopefully that means a baby is on it's way!

I had lots of cramping last night for the first time, went away at first with paracetomal but then returned in waves a few hours later, took more paracetomal 4 hours after the last but it didn't really help second time around, slept through it a bit but had to get up in the end... it all faded away this morning though.
Saw the midwife for my 41 week app today, she tried to do a sweep but couldn't reach !!!
She said my CX was still long but the cramping is a good sign things may be moving along.
I am booked in for induction this Saturday. Just for gel and then to be sent home to see if it works, then back the next day for more same thing if nothing has happened, then again the next day...!!! then on the fourth day if nothing has happened, it's in and on the a drip... I really hope it doesn't take that long, I'll be right pissed of by then by the sounds of it, never mind skint from all those taxi trips!!!!
