Hello everyone...

Had a positive test this morning, suspect due on 3rd June. Gulp! Very surprised as DD is only 9 months and it took me 2 years to conceive the first time around.

Anyone here to join teh long wait?

Wow! I was able to post a message. Sorry that it is not particularly creative. I cannot think of a synonym for baby that begins with J... (Junior and Juvenile seem lame.)

All is well here except for the endless nausea and exhaustion. Snap to GibberingGinger: My Birthday was on Friday as well...

Horton · 16/11/2009 19:03

Happy birthday, fellow Scorpios! Mine was on the 7th.

LaTrucha · 16/11/2009 19:15

Just gatecrashing to say Hi to Fillybuster - old chum from the Due in Jan 2008 thread. HI Filly.

Also saw you there Chairmum - how's it going? I can't believe how well DD sleeps now. Hope you're the same. I don't seem to sleep at all once I'm pg though, so she may aswell be up through the night

I'm not far behind you guys. Due July 2nd

greensnail · 16/11/2009 20:17

Aaargh I'm so itchy its driving me crazy, surely its too early for this. My OC started at 28 weeks last time! Have first midwife appointment tomorrow so hopefully get some bloods done and see whats going on.

Saucepanman · 16/11/2009 21:03

Evening ladies, I have been able to prepare the evening meal tonight AND eat it! Unfortunately I start to feel sick straight after eating, and then panic cos I do not want to bring back food- I haven't been sick for a couple of days but could just heave at any given moment. NOT fun. You know that show, Ready Steady Cook, where the contestants have to bring 5 ingredients in a carrier bag? Well I reckon I would be hard pressed to fill mine with 5 things I can eat at the moment! Oh and I almost mugged my friend's 7yo ds for his funsize crunchie after school! As soon as I saw it I just fancied it and nothing else would do- he did not give it to me!

Lovely (this week) DH just made me a cup if tea which has taken the edge off, and I am going to go to bed early before it can take hold again.

madamefreckle · 16/11/2009 22:17

Thanks everyone. Really appreciate your comments. Can't see things improving anytime soon but am just going to try to be numb to it for now because if i try to do or say anything about it all, it just blows up in my face and i'm left feeling bloody miserable. I'll just have to keep reminding myself that he's a great dad and at the moment that's more important than being a great partner, or great at his job or anything else.

I've been racking my brains for a new thread title and all i can come up with is:
Becoming bulgy: June-oh what i mean?

Seriously debating whether to post that suggestion for fear of severe mockery or an excess of sceptical faces. , or perhaps, more insultingly:

RnB · 17/11/2009 06:56

really sorry newherehelp

Well my sickness seems to be going - am starting to feel normal again! Which of course, rather than celebrating I'm starting to worry that something is wrong As has been said here already - when you've had a previous MMC you lose faith and trust in your body

But I am 12 weeks in 2 days time which is when the MW said I should start to feel better. Am just shocked at how different I fee to when I was pg with my boys - was literally sick the whole way through...

Anyway, scan next week! Am also pretty convinced I can feel the beginning of little, tiny movements when I lay on my back

LittleRobbo · 17/11/2009 08:57

RnB do you suspect a baby girl?

madamefreckle at thread title v good!

My scan is on 3rd dec, which seems ages away,i am 12 wks next monday (if my dates are right) so milestone no1 is in sight

fillybuster · 17/11/2009 11:08

Ooh, I like Madamefreckles suggestion

Saucepan - I have been having massive crunchie attacks for the past 2 weeks...no idea why as they are not something I normally eat, but its been bad!!!!

gizmo · 17/11/2009 11:41

Hello all, just dropping by when i should be working. Very sorry to hear your news Newhere: I hope you have better luck soon.

I'm finding the sickness and exhaustion are gradually improving, in that I have whole half days where I don't feel crap. Still fighting hard to generate any interest in work, though: this can't continue or I shall have a terrifying backlog to deal with come December. It might help if I told people, but I'm frankly paranoid about this pregnancy and really don't want to deal with that until after the nuchal results.

It's great to hear other people are pulling through the worst: feels a bit wierd that many of you are already at the 12 week mark when I'm only just 9, but also kind of inspiring. Saucepanman, way to go with dinner...and self restraint...7 year olds are so muggable, aren't they

Belated happy birthday GG.

ELM · 17/11/2009 13:01

Hi all,
madamefreckle hope things get better with DH.
My twelve weeks is up on Thursday. So why do I still feel so rubbish? I am actually losing weight rather than putting it on now
I want to
a) drink tea
b) be able to smell toast without throwing up
c) be able to eat without pondering what it is going to taste like on the way back up!!
Sorry self pitying moan over.

greensnail hope it's not your OC starting earlier this time.

Better get back to work

minimoonumbertwo · 17/11/2009 13:47

Me too RNB!!! Is it too ridiculously early to feel anything do you think?? I'm 12 weeks tomorrow - I am thinking maybe yes, the beans must be so tiny still.

Am so excited about getting to 12 week mark but slightly annoyed i have to wait another week for my first scan - so really can't tell anyone until next week. I wish they listened to the baby's heartbeat or something at the mw appt - can i ask for her to try?? Am so desperate to tell work now, it's so weird that it's kind of all you think about for 3 months but can't really share it - thank goodness for MN!

So am still feeling sick off and on but not half as bad as it was - so to all you who are still suffering hopefully it will ease v soon. It's nice not to have to stuff my face every 5 mins, things feel slightly more controllable now. ELM & Saucapanman sorry to hear it's still such a sicky horrid slog but it WILL pass and WILL be worth it!!

GinaFB · 17/11/2009 14:34

Hi everyone

I am due 22nd June with Bump No 1 and have only just discovered this website!! Great news because I've been desperate to talk to someone about it!!

I am totally exhausted and can't wait for that to pass so I can actually get on with things at work and at home!!

xx

muchchocolate · 17/11/2009 15:20

Hi all,

I'm struggling big time - I seem to be much sicker than with my last pregnancy. Then I was just sick in the morning and then could get on with the day. With this one I feel awful all day and the sickness is random, I was sick after dinner last night and then had to pull over the car to be sick this afternoon on the way home from toddler group.

I feel so bad for my lo as he is so fed up being in the house and is watching far too much tv but I don't know what else to do!

Can't wait for this horrible bit to be over -from when I waken in the morning I just want it to be bedtime again and I hate wishing the time away like that.

Hope everyone else is doing ok

muchchocolate · 17/11/2009 15:24

oh and welcome GinaFB - it is good to have somewhere to discuss it when you're supposed to be keeping it quiet altho I have to confess I've told quite a few people now....

fillybuster · 17/11/2009 15:45

I just want to have a little moan (you have been warned!)...I've come down with yucky flu bug (caught from dd) and feel very indeed. Taking paracetamol but v of dd's ibruprofen intake! That's it, moan over...

gizmo · 17/11/2009 16:00

Hi Gina, welcome to the vomitorium

Talking of which - poor old you Fillybuster. I had a dose of galloping D&V about 4 weeks ago and the combination with morning sickness was particularly nasty. Can you take to your bed?

minimoonumbertwo · 17/11/2009 16:21

Muchchocolate I know exactly what you mean - the joy of cbeebies but oh the guilt! it's funny though, now i am feeling a bit better and able to do more it seems like quite a short period in a way..I'm sure they don't really care!

Gizmo pmsl at vomitorium - i think we should have that in our thread title!

i can't imagine being ill PLUS morning sickness/early pregnany - how awful, you poor things, and you just don't get the opportunity to properly relax & get better in the same way as before lo's...you have all my sympathies.

fillybuster · 17/11/2009 16:25

Thanks...I should be in bed right now, not on MN (today is a 'nanny day' since I'm supposed to be at work), especially since I need to recover before tomorrow which is a 'mummy day' I blame the lure of MN....luckily I've not been sick at all (yet!) this time, although the waves of nausea, esp morning and evening, have been pretty impressive and are definitely not helped by aching all over and high temp. OK, I really am going to crawl back under the covers now with a herbal tea...

Welcome to Gina, sorry, should have said that earlier...pg brain!

theperfectbaguette · 17/11/2009 16:32

fillybuster poor you that sounds naaaaasty - though so does your morning sickness muchchocolate to be fair.

Thankfully I just feel a bit grotty, no actual yakking, and as I freelance from home and have no other kids I can take it a bit easy. Well I say that, with the amount of time I'm spending on MN and lounging in the bath I've built up quite a work back log, the thought of which makes me break into a sweat first thing every morning. Like gizmo I fear I've set myself up for a killer December.

Still got my scan booked in for Dec 7th, which feels rather exciting.

Welcome to the gang GinaFB, hope you feel less knackered soon.

And madamfreckle I think your thread title is a GOER

GinaFB · 17/11/2009 16:36

Thanks everyone!! Its good to be here! Even if its all a bit terrifying at the moment!!

xx

Horton · 17/11/2009 16:51

Hi Gina, don't be scared! MN is a great source of information for making the scary bits manageable.

I'm just feeling tired at the moment. Have been going to bed at 8pm along with my 3 year old which is strangely satisfying (and it's a while since I've had 11 hours sleep a night!)

readysetgo · 17/11/2009 17:25

Hi Gina! I'm on bump number 1 too and know what you mean about terrifying!

I've still got 3.5 weeks to go until the 12 week mark too, so jealous of you guys. Just think, you will all be giving birth and I will be sat on my own in this thread til the end of June wishing it was me xx

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/11/2009 17:34

You won't be on your own at the end of June readysetgo - my babies are always late, and I'm right at the end already (although dates might not be spot on).

Welcome Gina.

Sympathies to all those feeling poorly, be it pregnancy related or otherwise. I am just tired and a bit achey, not helped by ds getting up at 5:45 for the last few days .

RnB · 17/11/2009 17:53

ah readysetgo ds2 was 2 full weeks late so I'm preparing myself for the same. You'll probably give birth before me

Welcome Gina

mimimoonumbertwo it's amazing, isn't it . I felt ds1 fr the first time at about 18 weeks I think. Ds2 at about 16 weeks. So have been very surprised to feel those familiar little flutters sooo early on. Part of me thinks that maybe I'm further along than I think, I'm so big this time round - a proper bump.

I guess I'll find out next week!
