Here we go -

Hpoefully in this one we'll all get to feel those kicks and turns if we haven't already, some of us will go for our 20 week scans, and we might get to look preg instead of looking like we've eaten too many cream cakes!

No more scares in this one though please!

Enthusia, well done on getting the powertrack matrix, we bought one for ds and as tessasmum said, they are really hardy and as is also going strong 16months later!

MizZan · 08/06/2005 14:16

hi and thanks for the welcomes everyone. tessasmum, congrats on your wedding! hope everyone's feeling well today and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Enthusia · 08/06/2005 14:34

Tessamum, sorry forgot to post a message to you. Congratualtions on your wedding, I take it you had nice weather - I was in Spain so not sure what it was like here!!!!

Married life is lovely isn't it, cor its coming up my 2nd anniversary already, time really does fly, feels like only months ago that I got married myself!!!!

ChaCha · 08/06/2005 15:18

Enthusia, it's my wedding anniversary next month (another freaky coincedence maybe?)
It will be my fourth

Enthusia · 08/06/2005 15:49

Mine is at the beginning of August, so not far off!!!!

ChaCha · 08/06/2005 15:55

cool
I got married at end of July but our party followed by honeymoon was 2nd Aug. I do try to get away with celebrating both

ohhhh...what a lovely day! My energy is not at full bar as it was..feeling a bit lazy. How are you feeling now Enthusia?

Enthusia · 08/06/2005 16:26

I'm not feeling too bad, have had a great day just sorting things out such as emails paperwork etc. Cooked last night for the first time in ages and really enjoyed it, so am going to cook again tonight. Went shopping earlier to pick things up for a recipe. Basically a nice chilled day. Have a friend coming round when she finishes work, so that will be good!

Trying also to rest. Don't feel sick or anything now, but was a bit lazy earlier and had a nap!

We are thinking about going to where we had our honeymoon as our summer holiday this year. Were going to go to Rome, but not sure if I fancy all that walking in the heat now. Our honeymoon was in a castle in Scotland and all that idyllic pampering sounds much nicer!

ChaCha · 08/06/2005 16:32

Lovely!!! Sounds fab but am totally envious - DH doesn't want to take me anymore though i'm really pushing for a weekend not too far away - I must have a holiday!

Enthusia · 08/06/2005 16:36

Why doesn't he want to take you? I would go to Rome, it is only the heat that is putting me off, getting medical attention is very easy and generally good in other coutries I have visited. Unfortunately my family have had rather a lot of medical thingys in other countries, so I have sampled quite a few by proxy!!!!!

Being relaxed is also very good for you and Bubs, even if you just spend some nights in a hotel in Oxford or the Cotswolds at least you acn relax and chill out!!!

My DH can't wait to get off work again, they only thing stopping us is his job, but we will have to see!

ChaCha · 08/06/2005 17:25

Hi Enthusia, he is wrapping me up in cotton wool as it were! I think he's worried about going abroad. Cotswolds sounds nice, i'll have a search online and see what i find. That is the kind of break i'm looking for

Enthusia · 08/06/2005 20:22

aaaahhhh, it is so nice to be pampered. Still think a night or two away would help you relax even more!!!

Had a lovely afternoon with my friend, actually felt more myself and could socialise, off to do dinner now.

Hi all!

Firstly, congratulations Tessasmum on your lovely wedding!!

Have been on the go non-stop today! Took ds on his playgroup trip to Gulliver's Kingdom in Matlock Bath, had a great time with brill weather, lovely day but now v. tired! Dp just got back from work and I've not even made a start on tea so he's down the chinese now!

Not felt baby move much today which has worried me slightly, but I think it's because I've been on the go for most of the day.

Just been looking at holiday cottages for next year, my mum's got a big birthday coming up next year and she wants a big family holiday to celebrate. She said earlier 'so they'll be you and dp and the 2 kids....' to which I replied 'no, they'll be 3!!'! Baby will be about 8 months, crawling and everything!

Right takeaway is here!!

Speak to you all tomorrow, night!

19 today! x x x

How does it work?? This looking and feeling 18 weeks pg in the morning and looking, feeling and acting as though I'm 7 months gone by the evening?!! I was convinced last night that someone had put another baby in there! Back to one again this morning.

Got appointment with midwife tomorrow and 20 week scan on 22nd June. Definately feeling things now, mainly flutterings, DH even thought he felt something last night.

As for food, I'm glad we have finally got on to that. Kept quiet before as I'm one of the lucky one that don't seem to feel rough at the beginning, I just start eating for 2 and don't stop! Last time it was apples and Marmite crisps, at the moment it seems to be hummus.

18+1

ChaCha · 09/06/2005 11:31

Good morning ladies
Rodeo - Don't know how you do it but here's hoping that one day I have the energy that so many of you mums seem to have !

Just back from appt with m/w. She's a lovely lady - am quite lucky to have such a great GP and m/w. Heard the heartbeat, it was lovely - she said it was probably about 140 (whatever that means, will have to read about it) and I'm very pleased as was rather worried with all the sickness gone! I still forgot to ask my GP (who i saw before m/w) an important question - I really do forget a lot these days. I think it's common in PG.
My hayfever is beyond a joke now - it's terrible, she said it was fine to take nose inhaler (beconase) so at least that will take the edge off.
Hurray for more fantastic weather!!!!! Where is Hamster and everyone else?

Enthusia · 09/06/2005 12:29

Hooray ChaCha for a great MW appointment. What happened to the extremely big needle?????? Was going to post a good luck note this morning, but did not want to remind you of it. Was thinking of you instead!!!!!!

I think 140 is good, I was not told mine. I do know the baby's heartbeat should be double the mother's and I think adults HBs are about 70bpm, so that sounds good!!!!!

Don't know about hayfever as never had it luckily. But I can't stop sneezing. I usually never sneeze and now I can do 3 in a row. NEVER DONE THAT BEFORE EVER!!!!!!

Don't feel coldy or anything though.

Just came back from a lovely walk into town. Went really slowly and enjoyed the fresh summer air, it was bliss.

Tessamum, know what you mean about the bump. This morning it is there, but quite small, but last night it looked like I had eaten a rather large melon whole!!!! I like the fact that when I lie down now I have a small bump, and it is all hard. Before it was more like fat and would sort of drift to the sides

Mind you my breasts are so huge now they nearly touch the bed on both sides when I lay down, and sort of rest on my chest/bump when I am standing, very odd hot feeling. I was never small, but I was never huge either!!!!

ChaCha - How's your bump coming along. Did the mw measure your fundus (I think that's the name of it) height?

ChaCha · 09/06/2005 12:59

Hi Enthusia,

LOL Dh and I explained my needle phobia and the fact that no one can EVER find a vein! She had a look and said she'd rather i go to one of the centres and have it done there. So have come back with some plastic bags (for samples) which i can go and have done anytime in the next four weeks. Hurray!
No measurements taken, but she did say everything felt fine (here's hoping).
Was a lovely morning here too, am expecting a friend and her DD for lunch so that will be nice, have got back to the stage now where i enjoy socialising again, rather than 'sorry, next week maybe am puking my guts out..can't see me like this'!
How big is everyone's bump then? I have a hard belly, like you said Enthuia, fatty looking when i sit down.

rodeo1 · 09/06/2005 13:04

Hi all,

So glad you're appt went well! 140 is about right, I think it can varies between 140-160, apparently girls HB are faster, if you believe in that! But as Enthusia said - where was the big needle?!!

Right, been at a soft play place this morning and I'm starving so I'm off to make lunch

19+1 x x x

Where is everyone today? My friend has just left and am having some chill out time before marking pile of books. Am also in a dilemma as to what to make for tea. Hmmm...

Enthusia · 09/06/2005 16:28

I'm still here but just about to go out, have been writing reports - lovely!!!!

ChaCha · 09/06/2005 16:40

Lovely! I have mine to write in the next couple of weeks - can't wait (Not!)
Sun seems to have vanished behind some clouds, my hayfever is doing my head in...grrrrr!!!

Enthusia · 09/06/2005 16:49

Got to go and take some kids on DH's side of the family swimming and then babysit them til about 10, so think of me next to that hot pool won't you? I am not allowed in as it is very serious swimming, time trials etc!!!!

ChaCha · 09/06/2005 17:22

Think i've come back to PC a tad late - but have fun anyway

busyalexsmummy · 09/06/2005 20:37

evening everyone.
have had a really weird day today, woke up in a bizzare mood, felt like walking under a bus or something, think its because im so stressed at the moment and everythings getting ontop of me, didnt help that ds was a little winger all morning, winging drives me nuts and by 9.30am i'd had enough!

went to bridgewater this afternoon and promtly left my purse there, so have to figure some way of getting that back before the weekend-long trek back down tommorrow by the looks of it :-(

am feeling really hungry as have had 1/2 bowl of coco pops all day, and thats it, havent had time to eat as been so busy but now ive got time, nothing in the fridge/freezer seems appetising!

still havent had a date through for my scan, so will wait anougher week and ring them(theyre usually pretty good and send them out about 3/4 weeks in advance)

hows everyone elses day been?

L 16+5

tessasmum · 09/06/2005 21:45

Oh Busy, poor you. It all comes at once when you're feeling down doesn't it? Hope tomorrow is a better day.

ChaCha · 09/06/2005 21:46

Oh Busy - poor you! I take it that your purse is still there then?
We all have days like that i think, some more than others, sounds like you need to put your feet up. Can't imagine its easy when you're already someones mummy. Is the place you need to go back to very far away?
