Here we go -

Hpoefully in this one we'll all get to feel those kicks and turns if we haven't already, some of us will go for our 20 week scans, and we might get to look preg instead of looking like we've eaten too many cream cakes!

No more scares in this one though please!

Tessasmum - the sling i used was very similar to the tomy one, got it from toys r us. I went to walk around the corner to the shop with it on and had to unfasten it, it was that bad. Not sure of the make of the one i have seen for baby.

Today has been awfully hot where we are, looks like another sleepless night (doesnt help that dd still sleeps with us either as she likes to snuggle!). Must buy a fan. Although i thank my lucky stars that it isnt as bad as when i was pg in august 2003 now that was horrible!

ChaCha · 11/07/2005 21:05

Evening all,
I want a three wheeler travel system. Any links, ideas, suggestions please?

novadandypowder · 11/07/2005 21:47

sorry to disappoint, i'm sadly not a celeb mum (although i have been in a few of the TV shows I've worked on). DH is not a celeb himself, but he owns a company that manages them, and makes TV shows and stuff. Hmm - maybe i should have made something up just to keep you all entertained.

KristinaM · 11/07/2005 22:02

Thanks for all the twin buggy info. The Jane looks very cool but no way could I lift 15kg of buggy plus the 14kg of toddler I have now, let alone adding a baby!!!!

Have checked out the Cosatto - looks good, just trying to find out the size and weight. But wouldn't buy it from Two Left Feet - they are terrrible.

KristinaM · 11/07/2005 22:04

Nova - please don't let on if you are anyone famous - I find all that celebrity stuff really tedious. Much prefer us all moaning about our DP/Hs and weeing in bed

Sorry, does that make me a boring old fart???

Busyalexsmummy · 11/07/2005 23:30

KristinaM -will bear that in mind, have heard a few poeple say that, why are they terrible? customer service crap?

chacha, how much are you willing to spend and what specs do you require ie car boot size etc?

I have a baby bjorn sling, i really liked it and got on well with it, but must admit i never used it that often

i may scare you all tommorrow and post a link to a site where you can see my scan pics/bump/me/dp/my sex-on-legs-son!

nite all x

Hi All

Just been trying to catch up on news.....been a while since I posted.

I went shopping on the weekend....mothercare has 50% off so I bought some babygrows (I think I probably went over the top)....I got ones for a 7.5lb baby (gods knows how I am supposed to guess the weight of the baby!).

We tried to look at prams and car seats but got scared by the fact that they are so complicated. I see you girls have already been talking about prams.....looks like you all recommend the Jane system....any other ideas? What about car seats (I suppose if we get a travel system then we dont need to worry about a separate car seat).

Anyway nice to see that you are all doing well. Nothing to report from my side except that I have a really bad craving for coco pops (oh dear!).

KristinaM · 12/07/2005 10:23

Busy - we bought a chair and footstool from them last year and their customer service was terrible. We were told delivery would take about X days - we didnt hear for weeks. You cant phone them, they only take emails and we got no response. Then they just deliver your goods on a random day months after you place the order, expect you to be in to sign for them and get annoyed if you are not.I cant remember all the details now, but we did end up wishing we had bought it from mothercare, even tho it was much more exensive there.

i see that Olivers Babycare and the Anglia baby centre also sell the cosatto, so if it turns out to be light enough I will give them a try rather than Two Left Feet

Sorry for the rant!!!!

BEKsmum · 12/07/2005 10:47

Morning girls, feeling a bit shattered this morning after a very busy long weekend out with my parents etc.

Rodeo, thanks for asking my Bp wasn't too bad 141/81, two weeks agao it was 145/85 so it's coming down slowly from 150/100 it started at!!!

Nova you definitely should have wound us up, that would have been hilarious, we'd all have been guessing for weeks who you were!

Busy go for it, we want to see your pictures.

Nice to see you back Bains, glad everythings ok with you.

Right off to get Ben ready as we're going to see my Grandad this morning then for haircuts this afternoon, oh the joys! Not sure how I'm going to keep him entertained during the summer holidays all I want to do is sleep! Have a good day and I'll catch up with you all later. Beks 22+2

Busyalexsmummy · 12/07/2005 11:32

ok, cool, shant be buying from them, useful to know theyre crap as you can never tell with online companies unless you try them or you hear about them first, cheers, will probably ask you for those two other company names when the time comes for me to buy it.

novadandypowder · 12/07/2005 12:03

Very bored with being pregnant now, why does it have to take so long. Want baby now (stamps feet)

tex111 · 12/07/2005 12:06

Had my midwife appt yesterday and I've got the opposite problem to you BEKs, my blood pressure is really low. The midwife thought the machine was malfunctioning! It was 90/58 which is the lowest ever. I'm actually relieved. I've felt so tired and can't-be-arsed that I was starting to think I might be getting bit depressed. Very glad to hear it's just the blood pressure. My iron was a bit low too which is contributing the the general feeling of lethargy so time to start eating more cabbage. Oh joy, as if I wasn't full of wind already.

twinkle1 · 12/07/2005 12:23

hi all,
just got back from midwife app.Bp has now dropped like a stone 100/60 but midwife still not happy as it is better to be either constantly high or low but not up and down like a yoyo, also my uterus is measuring 24 weeks not 20 weeks so have to go back in two weeks to be re checked and have to see dr on fri for back which is still bad AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH...
sorry about the moaning just getting it out of my system. Hope everyone else is well and not suffering too much with the heat

Busyalexsmummy · 12/07/2005 12:24

nova-you'll just have to wait, it cant come out till its fully cooked

babyonboard · 12/07/2005 13:51

just did my first loo roll measurement..8 sheets of andrex at 21w 2d...is this big or small?i was a size ten before the bump..
trying to decide between a roast veg pizza or a healthy salad for lunch..i know whick would be best but can't resist the temptation of cheese...
I can't wait for my scan on thursday! really hoping the tot doesnt have crossed legs as I'm desperate to know the sex..
hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine!

babyonboard · 12/07/2005 14:44

I went for the pizza in the end..with extra goats cheese on top..he he
Just wondering who all you guys are having for a birthing partner..
My bf wants to be there, but is pretty sqeuamish and hates hospitals so i am worried he will wuss out at the critical moment.
Considering having my mum there, but could be difficult as she lives 200 miles away so if baby isn't born on date then she'll be madly driving down the M1 to get here while i cross my legs..he he

Enthusia · 12/07/2005 17:19

Hiya all

Cor what a load of messages. Sorry can't keep up with everyone's news!!!!

Welcome Babyonboard, good to have even more members!!!!

All the pram talk is interesting. I bought the Jane matrix carrera when in Spain. Mum and Dad are now over and have brought it back with them. It is great finally being able to have a play with it!!!!!

Life here is hectic, but only another week to go, then no more work. YIIPPPEEEE!!!!!!

Am getting huge now!!! My bump also starts to ache when I have had a busy day or standing for a long time.

Have my first DR's appointment since 13 weeks on Monday, can't wait for that!

Hope all your BP's sickness etc, are ok.

Speak later

me

ChaCha · 12/07/2005 17:37

Hi everyone

Calling Rodeo the stats girl!! Can you post some stats on a kind of 'tried and tested' note so that we can refer to all different types of travel systems/strollers/whatever etc..? That would be cool, i can't keep track, just too much info for my pea-sized brain.

Babyonboard - I also have my scan on Thursday, am looking forward to it, just hope that everything is okay. Fingers crossed for us both x

Too hot today, school was boiling and DH and I went to buy a paddling pool!!! Can't quite believe we did, Argos was sold out so we found one elsewhere and DH is currently putting up our old gazebo and i'll be readying the mini pool - we are big kids at heart!!!

Hi to Beks, Busy, Rodeo, Bains, Tex, Kristina, Nova, Enthusia and all of those who we don't see much of...and anyone i forgot.

Take away fast approaches x

bamik · 12/07/2005 17:51

Hey Everybody

I'm 21 + 3 today and since yesterday evening baba has been doing star jumps and karate kicks! Well that's what it feels like. It's like his new found honny just to kick me as hard as he can - and it works!

I must say it feels so weird though. I took the time to look at my tum yesterday and when he kicked my tum actually moved a little. He decided to take it up again at 7.30 this morning (thanks baba). He has been doing it all day as well but just mini kicks (I think he only does the karate kicks later in the evening when he's really warmed up ).

Anyway - enough about me. How R you all doing?

hamster · 12/07/2005 17:53

Hi fellow mummies to be,

Hope the hot weather isn't taking it's toll too much. I must say, it's sooo cool in our house, I haven't ventured out once today!

Well, I've only had chance to quickly read through the past couple of days....stressed, hot and busy!

Babyonboard-welcome. I haven't yet tried the loo roll test. I have to admit it scares me. A year ago, before ds was born I was a size 8-10, after ds was born (last August) I was a 12-14....so you can imagine the state of me now! lol. The bump has become rather noticeable, and people keep asking me how long I have left! That can't be good already, I'm only 23+5!

Been rather stressed lately, ds has had stomach upset complete with vomiting and squits, depressing in this weather, all he wants to do is sleep

Well, had better go and get tea on.
Hope you're all well, catch up soon
xx

tessasmum · 12/07/2005 19:52

Interesting to read the stuff about 2 Left Feet. We bought our Jane direct from them as we live close. Even then we weren't over impressed by them - the phone was ALWAYS ringing in the shop and NEVER answered (very off-putting when browsing and didn't bode well if we did have a problem and needed to ring!) Also weren't that impressed by how they fitted the seat, DH played around with it for ages afterwards and got it to fit much better.
So if going for a Jane find a more local stockist if possible (I know they do them in Abingdon and Hitchin) and either follow the good fitting advice on here or come over for lunch and I'll let DH loose on your car

rodeo1 · 12/07/2005 20:13

Evening!

I'm, going to start a new thread, this one is just too long and it takes me ages to get to the bottom (still have crappy dial-up !)

Hold on 2 secs.....

,,,just been shopping around for a new twin buggy........some interesting conclusions........kiddicare 0906 £1.50/minute er no, thanks, I'll be shopping elsewhere ta! Comfy Kids phone number invisble at first, email only, then checked terms & conditions - lo & behold a disconnected phone number.....nope sorry guys, you're not my #1 either.

Personal recommendation - Lullabys/Lullabies? nice to deal with and efficent - shame they are halfway thru a stocktake when the handlebar of this new thing keeps falling off........when descending a hill or even gentle slope......ah well, can't win them all, can we?

Two left feet roundly dissed on other forums too so give them a wide berth, I figure.
