Oh, sorry Bumps (or LB ) cross posted. Sounds like a tough day but good at least that DP is sorting out DD and has been good enough not to drink all the beer .

Where are you up to with regards to DS' treatment, do you have any pending appts? Are you going to try going back to a dairy free diet? It must be so tough but you are doing incredibly well you know.

largeginandtonic · 16/06/2009 21:36

Diege You clever, clever lady. I am mucho impressed by your sterling work. I loove the name Jacob too [biased emoticon]

Hullo all!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 16/06/2009 21:38

Hello LG&T - long time no see, you all keeping well?

kookykid · 16/06/2009 21:46

I'm back again (two days running! WoW!)

NJ - everything is sounding so positive. Really admire you and your DH for sorting things out. Hope you manage to get house and car sorted soon. The clearing out sounds fantastic - how on earth do you manage it with 3 LOs?

GYO - sounds like you're having a great holiday. Very jealous!

Am impressed you have managed to post already, Diege! Hope Jacob is settling in at home and the girls are all smitten with their new baby brother.

Thanks for responses about baby names starting with the same letter. I am already thinking of this one by a name which DH isn't sure about. Will have to be carfeul otherwise I might end up being disappointed!

We're bad for the TV/computer thing too, although we haven't had the TV on for an entire evening for ages. We are better in the summer than in the winter!

idreamofbeanie · 16/06/2009 22:24

Hi all,

I'm quite excited and fairly terrified - please reassure me. I found a britax vigour 3+ with carrycot, cosytoes etc on ebay for £170 which is a saving of £160 from the cheapest deal I have found for a new pram. It is black when I really wanted red but looks to be in really good condition, just a couple of scratches on the frame, so I can live with black. It is through a shop/business with great feedback so should be fine but I have never spent that much on ebay before - I'm a tight scottish lady so spending pennies gives me palpitations at the best of times . With the money I've saved I now feel free to get the play mat I want and a storage unit/set of drawers for all the baby stuff.

Nat - good to hear from you. I'm glad to hear you and DP are sorting things out.

Diege - CONGRATULATIONS again. I hope the girls are enjoying having a little brother.

LB - enjoy your beer, sounds like you deserve it after today!

Glask - how was the maypole dancing? How sweet.

Hi everyone else

bumpsnowjustplump · 16/06/2009 22:27

Get it IDOB use paypall and you are covered I think...

I am off to bed now so night night..

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 03:26

I am so tired. Owen woke at half one for a feed and we are still up...... He has been so sick and very upset. I am going dairy free again it obviously helped big time!!! I think I will still give the meds aswell what do you think???

I need sleep but he isnt going to let me..... little poo poo....

Hope you are all enjoying your Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz (bitches )

GYo · 17/06/2009 04:36

hi everyone

You still lurking LB?

GYo · 17/06/2009 04:58

I reallot hope you arent lurking on for your sake. Sounds like trying to go off the dairy is worth trying again. You are really amazing coping with dd, ds and rows with dp. Hang in there.

Diege great to hear from you and I hope you are recovering ok. Jacob is a lovely name. Weirdly just had a bizarre dream about the wagon and you came round to my house with the new baby

LBOT have you really only got 5wks left!!!? That has gone soooo fast.

Hello Nat glad things are getting sorted.

Hi everyone else

I'm sure my holiday updates are very dull but here goes anyway. Had day out to Portland yesterday ( or was it today?) anyway was lovelyin the sun. Had a cream tea but DD got rather hot and bothered in the heat. Why do car seats seem to make babies so hot!?

Another long sleep for DD here ( sorry guys ) its great except for my boobs!

Please can anyone suggest how to cope with the engorgment? By 4am my boobs are pouring out and really uncomfy. I could express at 10 to build a supply of ebm but not sure that's a great idea as it will confuse my supply. Have g said that I'd like to keep my supply up in case case this sleeping is a fluke IYSWIM. Maybe I should try a dream feed. ?

Lambs bleating here already!

NatalieJane · 17/06/2009 07:29

Good morning

Diege! Bloody hell woman, go rest, you shouldn't be on here yet! (Though, whenever you get chance to do the BS and the piccies.... ) Seriously, hope you're not feeling too sore, and that your lovely little boy (have you gotten used to that yet?!!) is settling in well? I bet DD's are all over him!

Bumps (Is that LB?) Sound's like you're going through the mill It is very hard when it seems everything is crashing down around your ears.

STT, your DH sound's as bad as my kids! Last night, I really shouted at DS1 I'd spent all that time sorting through the play room, took most of the toys away, left a toy box full of toys, just a few books, a couple of colouring books and some crayons, and a couple of other bits, I was trying all day to start on their room but other stuff kept getting in the way, by the time they were getting ready for bed last night, the play room looked like a bomb had gone off, I wouldn't mind but it was DS1's stuff all over, DS2 was playing in the garden, so he had a few bit's out out there, but it was DS1 that basically un-did my work, so I find my self shouting at him "You are SEVEN years old, I am not expected to go around behind you clearing up your pens and papers because you can't be bothered" felt very bad for yelling it at him, but I stand by what I said, so he went to bed in a grump. He has a school trip to the zoo today so it'll all be forgotten now, by him at least Just hoping I can get the rest of the stuff sorted and out of the house by next week! Am very excited!

Right, have run out of time, will try and get back later to catch up with everyone else, bye for now xxx

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 08:29

Ds finally went back down at 5 and was uo again at 6.30.... I am dairy free again now..... Do you think there is enough calcium in the pregnacare tabs???

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 17/06/2009 08:49

Bumpy - sorry you had such a rubbish night. Probably best to go dairy free fora while and see what happens. IIRC Pregnacare doesn't have calcium but does have loads of vitamin D which helps absorption of calcium in the diet. You'll get small amounts of calcium from most vegetables or you could take a plain calcium supplement if you were concerned or likely to be dairy free for more than a few weeks. I could be wrong about calcium in pregnacare (check the side of the box) but that's what rings bells with me.

Morning Nat! Not suprised you were frustrated with DS1. Hope he enjoys his zoo trip though!

GYo - I'm loving your holiday updates

We're off to Baby (BF) Cafe this morning with NCT friends. We're still waiting for our last baby to be born but she's booked to go in for an induction tomorrow evening.

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 09:00

Thanks ses I will pay a visit to chemist today..

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 09:25

ses should I carry on with meds as well in your view?

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 17/06/2009 09:29

I would just in case part of the problem is he's losing them when he's being sick and if he keeps them down they're more likely to help.

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 09:39

Good thinking.... hope you have a nice lunch today, bf cafe sounds great... I am going to stock up on dairy free cakes products today.....

glaskham · 17/06/2009 10:15

Morning...

Diege- well done you for getting on here already... how are you healing? did you have staples or stitches? Hows feeding going? Looking forward to the BS and seeing some pics!!

Nat- glad your sorting things with your DH... sounds like you have a plan and mean to stick to it!!

hello everyone else. Not staying i'm really ill... got a blocked nose, cough, sore throat still, migrane still.... haven't taken DS to nursery as fear i haven't even the energy... it aches my whole body just to have a blimin wee!! Maypole dancing was good yesterday, DS was very sweet... but he was on in the first 5mins then i had to sit for another hour watching the rest of the school do singing and dancing etc. DD's walking boots arrived yesterday too and she loves them!! They are very very sweet!!

julescantwaitforherwii · 17/06/2009 10:47

morning

bump - hope u have a better day today
sorry you had a bad day yesterday and night

nat - good to hear from you again - sorry for ds1 being annoying

glas - get well soon poor you

dd1 is being very draining @ the mo thank godness she is @ nursery till 3pm.
she demans constant attention , follows me everywhere wants to be involved with everything i.e - feeding the cat, getting shoe, watering plants. etc. she has always been a handful she will be 4 years old @ the end of aug. glad she will be @ school in sept.
and she is very loud always shouting.
took bracken to jolly babies group today really nice to take her to her 1st group by herself
it involved songs - had a teddy to hold, maraca and a silk blanket.
might get wii today

sorky · 17/06/2009 10:59

hahahaha Jules it only gets louder and worse, it's just what kids do!

GYo yes, dream feed, she's a bit too young to go through from 7pm with no feed. That should help the 4am milk let-down. Will take no more than a couple of days for the supply to fully correct itself to her feeding (ime)

LB sounds like it could be the dairy then doesn't it? Pregnacare don't have much of anything in I find, so I would supplement with a separate calcium tab too.

Urgh Glask sounds like you should definitely be in bed

IDOB go for it but use Paypal or a credit card that way you can claim the money back.
Personally I would offer cash on collection then you can guarantee that they receive the funds and you get the buggy.
With a buggy, providing it's not somewhere like Bournemouth, it's not that much more expensive to drive & collect from York. Could you do this?

What's the plan for today everyone?

NatalieJane · 17/06/2009 11:41

Back again!

LB, sound's like you're getting some good advice here, hope it does some good

Ses, enjoy lunch

Jules, group sound's like fun Re. DD1, I always always always find it easier to let them help with something they can do, let her get the cat food out of the cupboard, maybe use a cup/jug/something, that she can use to pour the biscuits in, let her put the bowl on the floor for the cat etc. it is 10 times easier than trying to fight their helpful ways! DS1 went through a stage of hoovering a couple of months back, I had to do it properly after he'd gone to bed, bit of a PITA, but the stages never last long, if I asked him to hoover now I think he'd look at me like I'd asked him to run around the block 60,000 times wearing a donkey costume! Hope your Wii turns up today, ours is a couple of years old now and is still played on at least 3 times a week!

Glask, hope you're feeling better soon, it's crap feeling like death warmed up with the kids about.

Sorky, plans today? I spent an hour folding up a trillion loads of clean washing, then packed 5 more boxes of board games from DS1's room, think I've got another 6 or 7 to go just for his games, and still you can't walk from side of the room to the other without risking life and limb. Bloody kids, whose idea were they anyway? Where the hell did they come from? Where the hell can I sell them?

Going to put DS2 down for his nap, feed DS3 while I catch up on BB10, and then wait for DS2 to wake up so I can hopefully at least get the board games packed up today.

Poor DS1, school trip, out side, and it is absolutely pelting it down, couldn't have picked a worse day this week for it

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 11:47

MURDER IS THE PLAN IF SHE DOESNT STOP!!!!

We have the cotbed and jessicas bed in the same room. Jessica has not taken a blind bit of notice of the cotbed since she came out of it at christmas... But today I put ds in it while I make the beds and tidy up my room and I hear a scream and crying. She has climed into the cotbed (dont know how she bloody done it but she must have swung one leg over and just launched herself) and landed on ds.... Que lots of tears from both. DD has a massiver bruise on the inside of her legs and ds is shell shocked (well I hope that is all it is anyway).. Grrrrrrrrrr

I have to go to gp for more meds today and going to stock up on dairy free bits too...

Star if you are lurking can you look at fb please!!!

sorky · 17/06/2009 11:53

have you got an idea about where you'll move to Nat?
What will you do with your house? What I mean is iirc you said there was an issue with the building not meant to be still standing and selling could be tricky.
Or have I dreamt that?

sorky · 17/06/2009 11:58

I think it's the weather you know Bumpy.
They can't get out in the garden 'cos it's hoying it down and are just winding each other up in the house.
I hope the planning comes through, I could do with another floor to chuck them all up to , they can take all their crap with them as I'm pig-sick of either clearing or standing on it.

Last night, Dd1 and Ds1 were playing with some bubble wrap and unbeknownst to Dh had left it outside the family bathroom door.
He went to the toilet in the middle of the night and stood on it (it's surprisingly noisy at stupid-AM) cue much muttering and swearing

idreamofbeanie · 17/06/2009 12:02

Hi Sorky - we considered cash on collection but it is in Surrey and we are so busy for the next few weekends we just don't have time. I have paid by credit card through paypal so fingers crossed it will be okay. They have good seller feedback - 200+ customers over last 12 months and only 1 neutral rating, the rest good.

LB - good luck with cutting out the dairy again.

Glask - for feeling ill, hope you feel better soon. Your lovely maternity tops and trousers have been fab for the last couple of very sunny weeks - thanks again!

I've been visiting a nursery this morning (all the nursery's in York have a 1-2 year waiting list for the baby room so have to book now to have a place when beanie is 8/9 months). I feel such a fraud - I have NO IDEA how to judge a nursery. This one seemed lovely - quite flexible on when/where the babies sleep/eat etc, the food is all organic and prepared by their chef so will do purees or 'real food' for baby-led weaning. The owner is French so really keen on good food, cooking activities, growing veg etc so kids learn to eat well (they also learn a bit of french at nursery). They have several rooms and the kids move up when ready not at certain age, staff all seemed lovely and the kids were all happy and chatty. The toys/books all looked every well used and maybe a bit tatty but it was all clean and tidy. The outdoor space is a bit small - mostly that playground tarmac looking surface with a climbing frame, slide etc and a small garden where the kids grow veg - but it is close to a large park and grassed area so they go there to play.

Sorry to ramble - just getting my thoughts in order really. It just seems weird to choose childcare for my baby now when I'm not a mum yet and have no idea what children need. How do I know if it's a good nursery?

bumpsnowjustplump · 17/06/2009 12:06

PMSL did he make it to the toilet or did he wet himself there and then?????? Did he drop to the floor as if he had been shot???
