Diege · 15/07/2009 09:34

Oh wow KAYZ a tooth ; which one is it?
Hi NAT! Sorry for the poorlies - what a nightmare . You made me chuckle with the hosue thing - my thoughts exactly, I mean what next?? Our beds, clothes??!!!, PFB (precious fourth born) . I think it relates to the fact that they want to rent out our house initially, but I've found some cheap reconditioned ones that we'll buy for them if it's a deal-breaker, as the dishwasher actually is pretty special ; a wedding pressie, and pretty top of range...just worried what else they want!! Honestly, we're not selling a furnished house
LB, agree with what others have said - no way would O be so alert if he was hungry - babies that aren't getting enough are generally either screaming all the time or sleep.
J was on to a good night's sleep last night I think until dd3 decided to scream down the house at 3am and wake us all up . Ended up feeding him then, and he settled back till 7, so not too bad. Struggled to sleep myself last night as had had 10 mins nap at 1pm...tis always the way when I nap. May have to last out today just so I can fall asleep at a decent hour!
Very dark, cloudy and rainy here. Hads plans to go to local retail park for a mooch, but may stay local instead. Hope everyone has good days

Kayzr · 15/07/2009 10:11

It's the one at the front at the bottom.

sorky · 15/07/2009 10:18

LB he will be getting all his milky needs in 5-10 minutes at his age so just keep going I'd say. As they get older they get much better at feeding, less frequently, faster etc.
Your breasts shouldn't get 'full' as such if he goes a bit longer, but you should get let-down I would've thought.

When he's feeding does he suck fast, then slow down a bit? If he's still doing that then the balance will be right and he's just better at feeding, as is your body as Nat says.

Last night was fine, did the 11pm feed, took both sides and was lots of milk -all good- BUT the little stinker then woke wanting to be fed at 1.30am, 4am, 6am and then I got her up at 8am so we're an hour out of schedule today.

She can't be hungry can she? What to do Diege, what to do?

Cheeky feckers your buyers aren't they? They obv have no shame!

Congratulations Kayz

lastboxoftampons · 15/07/2009 10:20

Hello everyone:

Sorky - sorry I meant to say Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a good one!

Diege - glad to hear about the house! Exciting! But a bit cheeky of the buyers to request your appliances. In the US you actually expect them to be there, but here I know it's different. Suppose if the sale depended on it... No more cramps - a few little niggles, but nothing like they were on Saturday.

IDOB - glad they managed to find an alternative course for you and DH to go to. Our instructor seemed to be coming out with really wild comments this past week About men being able to breast feed and dinosaurs becoming extinct because they didn't feed their babies....

Bump - As always I don't have any BFing advice, but what the others have said seems to be really sensible in terms of if he was hungry he wouldn't be happy...

Nat - sorry your little ones are not doing well Hoping it gets better at your house soon.

Kay - Congrats on the tooth! and glad to hear teething hasn't been difficult!

Have just today and then Friday at work and then I'm free!!!! Managed to get kitchen cupboards organised yesterday and got my hair cut. Very vain of me as I know there will be photos once the little guy makes his appearance! Speaking of which, I had a dream about him this morning where I actually saw him. He was very cute! Very very cute.

Diege · 15/07/2009 11:12

I bet he looks really cute KAYZ
SORKY, what to do indeed! I think if I was sure she wasn't hungry, I would try and settle without feeding and get quite tough. Having said that, it depends how much of a problem frequent night feeding is for you. As you know, they all grow out of it - just depends if you can/want to put up with it! I think at the very least I would maybe try a dummy to see if it's comfort, or even poffer cooled boiled water, but then I am hard faced when it comes to my sleep!
LBOX, good news about the cramps . Oh have been meaning to ask for days now whether the CD arrived? Was sent on the 4th, so if it hasn't may be looking at Royal Fail doing it's finest again
Have a severe headache here - seemingly a side effect of the pile cream I used this morning . Came on with a few mins of applying, and according to leaflet is v.common side effect (more than one in 10 chance). So, I have the choice of severe bottom pain (and I mean lots of blood and glass up the bum sensation) or severe headache?? Any advice SES if you're lurking?? Sorry if TMI!!!

bumpsnowjustplump · 15/07/2009 11:19

What a morning.... arrrrrrrr......

Morning everyone... Hope you and all the little ones are well...

Thanks for all the advice re breast feeding. I will just carry on as I am then... Day two of me being back on dairy and as yet no reaction from ds. I have had cheese yippee........ So missed that!!!!

DS is teething really badly, which has come as a shock to me as dd didn't get any teeth until she was over one and then didn't suffer at all. DS has a really sore bum, drooling badly (how do you spell drooling?), is moody, is putting everything in his mouth (what do I do about that as it is not all sterile), and his gums are like rock...

Kay yay for tooth I dont think ds will be far behind....

Sorky thanks for advice he does suck really quickly then slow down and poo (when it comes) is yellow as well....

Nat sorry for poorly boys, we have the same here (except for temp) ds is full of it and dd woke up last night and was sick she was coughing so much. Just back from gp with AB as she has a chest infection so I am even more worried about Swine flu now as her immune system will be busy fighting this and her lungs are already infected!!!!

Diege sorry dd woke the house up but yay for j's routine.

I must be the only one with a baby that is still in no routine and that is still not sleeping.... It is Karma bitting me in my big fat arse because I used to gloat when dd settled into her routine at 7 weeks (feeding every four hours during the day and went through the night etc...) Karma is a bitch and then some!!!!!

tinkisback · 15/07/2009 11:45

morning

must post quick havent fed bracken

did food shop last nite found leapfrog tag system book under the sea in tesco sale for only £3 well chuffed

tmi alert i have sore dodah going to ring gum and try and get appmnt especially as we are on hols to centre parcs from mon.
assuming sore due to having implant then period for 3 mnths then have been on combined pill for one month to stop bleeding

dd1 @ last whole day @ nursery today they are having a party has gone in a preety yellow dress with white hearts on

took bracken to jolly babies

planning on tv watching

Diege · 15/07/2009 12:45

Hi TINK! What are we like with our sore bits and pieces . Could it be thrush with you going on pill? I know I always get thrush on the combined pill. Leapfrog book sounds a bargain - well done!
I must get dressed . Headache gone now, but has really taken it out of me but have loads to do inc. e-bay listing which I hate! Hve self-diagnised anal fissure rather than piles, due to 'passing broken glass' sensation. Thought I should share that with you all

NatalieJane · 15/07/2009 14:04

LMAO Diege, anyone ever tell you that sharing is not always the nice thing to do? (Ouch though! - Poor you)

Kayz, hoorah for tooth

LB hope DD makes a speedy recovery, poor little thing, it is horrible when they're ill.

Enjoy the TV Tink

Have just fully caught up with BB10, I don't watch it from Thursday night till Monday, takes me all week to catch up while DS2 has his nap, just in time to see one or two 'live' and then I'm back to playing catch up again. I should really give up and come to terms with the fact that I don't have time in my diary to fit an hours worth of crap telly in a day, but then I might miss something, and although I know what's happened even when I've not watched it yet, I need to see it!

Shall we return to talking about piles?

Diege · 15/07/2009 14:38

Hi NAT The thing is I had piles when pregnant until only a few weeks ago, but these have now gone and I'm left with bright red bleeding and this broken glass thing . There's no way I'm going to the gps with an anal fissure though
So what's happening in BB house? Last time I saw it this year was first eviction week. Decided to go for a wee before results were announced and waters went! Never did find out who went that first week
Oh and J gave his first big gummy smile this morning - at himself in the playgym mirror

Kayzr · 15/07/2009 14:41

Just found another tooth next to the other one. DS1 was terrible with his teeth so I was expecting DS2 would be the same. But he doesn't seem bothered.

Diege · 15/07/2009 14:49

Bloomin eck KAYZ he'll look like before the end of the day!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 15/07/2009 15:12

Hi guys.

Can I whinge?

I am GRUMPY.

  • I have insomnia
  • I have restless leg syndrome
  • I am exhausted
  • I have heartburn
  • I have piles
  • My jeans keep falling down and I can't find any that fit - apparently I'm just a stupid shape
  • I'm totally off my food
  • I'm shitting myself about the birth and I've still got 12 weeks to go till due date
  • I have no idea how I'm going to cope with another baby
  • My home is a mess and I have no energy to do anything about it
  • I feel totally unprepared for this baby, in every sense
  • I can't relax when listening to the hypnobirthing CD's
  • My birthing ball seems too soft and DH won't help pump it up
  • I don't even understand some of the exercises I'm supposed to be doing

That's it for now, but will probably think of more...

As you were...

Diege · 15/07/2009 15:28

Oh STT . I shouldn't laugh but there are so many on your list that are just so familiar (not inc. the piles . ) Birth ball and jeans were biggies for me . I prescribe a trip to the shops for treats and a big reassurance (touching on the condescenidng) that it is all perfectly normal to feel like this

Sparklytwinkletoes · 15/07/2009 15:41

I know its normal - at least that's what I'm telling myself, but I still feel like stamping my feet and crying.

It doesn't help either that DH has just announced that he doesn't think he's up to the job of 'birth partner', I think I'm putting too much pressure on him and now he thinks he can't do it - I just want him to make some kind of effort and show some kind of interest - but its really like he doesn't give a shit. He was the same last time.

Am also wondering if perhaps I should just opt for an elective CS. That would take all the uncertainty out of it wouldn't it.

lastboxoftampons · 15/07/2009 15:44

Afternoon ladies

Diege - I meant to say ages ago THANK YOU fro the CD! It arrived the day after you sent it. How rude of me to have not thanked you!

As for piles...well, I can sympathize!

STT can I steal your list? These all apply to me too!:

I am GRUMPY.

  • I have insomnia
  • I am exhausted
  • I have heartburn
  • I have piles
  • My jeans trousers keep falling down are just incredibly uncomfortable and I can't find any that fit my huge bump
  • I'm totally off my food
  • I'm shitting myself about the birth
  • I have no idea how I'm going to cope with another a baby
  • My home is a mess and I have no energy to do anything about it
  • I feel totally unprepared for this baby, in every sense

Oh, and I just bought five pair of granny pants

tinkisback · 15/07/2009 15:46

wow kay he is doing well having 2 teeth

diege - i suspect probably thrush :-
with having the implant put in them 3 mnths of periods non stop then being put on pill hav been taking for a mnth periods stopped straight away :- now dryer

right ladies do i :-

number 1 - ring up gum clinic and try and get appmnt when they open today 4:30-6:30pm
or
number 2 - get dh to buy thrush treatments on the way hom

main reason is we go away to centre parcs on monday so want it be cleared up.

stt - lol

insomnia - have you tried paracetemol before bed i found this helped when pregnant
exhaustion - try and sit if possible
food - just eat what you can
birth- try not to worry you have done it before you will have a gorgoues baby
dont worry about mess do what you can get dh to help
get dh 2 pump up ball luved min sat on it while watching tv

received dd1s rosebud bday bits they r great
good timing as she was @ nursery all day
luved her party
they had a puppet and magic show and games

idreamofbeanie · 15/07/2009 15:58

Hi STT and LBOT

Can I join the whinge?

I am GRUMPY.

  • I have insomnia and can't get comfortable at night
  • I have restless leg syndrome
  • I am exhausted but don't have the sense to plan less so am crazy busy all week, late nights and full days
  • I have heartburn and keep belching
  • I have don't piles (yet) thank god
  • My jeans and trousers are uncomfortable and I can't find any that fit - apparently I'm just a stupid shape
  • I'm hungry but feel too full to eat and get indigestion when I do
  • I'm shitting myself about the birth and I've still got 10.5 weeks to go till due date but am also totally impatient to get there (stupid contrary person that I am)
  • I have no idea how I'm going to cope with a baby, I know nothing!
  • My home is a mess and I have no energy to do anything about it
  • I feel totally unprepared for this baby, in every sense yet can't figure out what to do to get prepared.
  • I can't relax when listening to the hypnobirthing CD's
  • My birthing ball is flat and DH won't help pump it up
  • I don't even understand some of the exercises I'm supposed to be doing plus I keep promising myself I WILL do pelvic floor exercises, breathing exercises and try to sit forwards to encourage baby to get ready but am too bloody busy, tired and fed up to get round to any of it.

That's it for now, but will probably think of more...

I felt great up until 2 weeks ago. What has happened???

idreamofbeanie · 15/07/2009 16:01

Sorry for just ignoring everyone else

Diege - sorry you are suffering but I would go to GP.

Tink - I would try to get an appointment as you will be away if thrush treatment doesn't help.

Kay - yah for teeth

Sparklytwinkletoes · 15/07/2009 16:19

Crikey - any new thread title suggestions?

Umm, something to do with wagons, whinging, winding and teething?

Diege · 15/07/2009 16:59

Go for it STT!
Glad you got CD LBOX , don't thank me, thank SORKY
TINKS, I would just go to chemist and get something like diflucan (oral tablet) that should clear it up pretty quick (though pricey). My GP just prescribes and doesn;lt take a swab etc for thrush, so if you just want quick results and don't mind paying, I'd just go to chemists.
Right, better go. J's been grisley all pm and has brought up lots of milk, so will see how he goes with this feed.

Moosy · 15/07/2009 17:16

Diege, I had something similar about 8 months after having DD1 then again a couple of months after DD2, I've never had piles () but I was bleeding a LOT of bright red blood (enough to turn the water red and big drips in the toilet) and had the broken glass pains with every poo. I never did get round to going to the doctor but it took a good couple of months to heal each time. Btw, the best bottom-friendly way to poo is to squat, so I used to climb up and crouch on the toilet seat - much easier and waaaay less painful!

Oh and can I join in with the complaining?

  • I have insomnia
  • I am exhausted
  • I'm still being sick sometimes
  • I have the beginnings of vulval varicose veins again (had them badly with DD2)
  • My jeans keep falling down and I can't find any that fit - apparently I'm just a stupid shape
  • I have no idea how I'm going to cope with another baby
  • My home is a mess and I have no energy to do anything about it
  • my children are being neglected and I'm finding it hard to care
  • My boobs are growing stupidly fast but are REALLY painful and feel like bags of rocks
Sparklytwinkletoes · 15/07/2009 17:35
