glaskham · 15/06/2009 09:52

5 days and Ruby will be 4mths old!! and probably weighing the same as DS did at birth (8lbs 8oz)

its really odd when i think of it like that!! It was very strange that on my birthday she weighed what i had done at birth 24years earlier!!

hi glas she has grown quick

lastboxoftampons · 15/06/2009 10:50

Oh, LB I'm so sorry to hear. Please don't give up hope. I can't begin to imagine what it's like for you with DS's illness and a toddler to cope with as well, but counselling really worked for us when we hit a particularly rough patch. Huge hugs for you, please take care, and rant all you want.

Kay - think that sounds really sensible, and don't feel that it's selfish that you want your body to yourself for a while again. It can be really important to take some time out for yourself.

Ses - hope you're feeling better today. Unfortunately, I don't think men get it. I have no advice, just big hugs! Oh, and a brownie too! Take care of yourself!

Had a BBQ yesterday and I'm just exhausted! Saturday was spent cleaning/getting ready and I just can't do what I used to be able to. And when I finally collapsed at the end of the day, the LO decided it was time to go mad - I nearly cried, I just wanted to relax and he was kicking the hell out of my tummy! I don't want to complain because mostly I love feeling him move, but it is exhausting at times. Anyone else feel like that?

sorky · 15/06/2009 10:54

Oh Bugger! LB, just logged on, sent you a text

Will speak to you tonight if you're about

Moosy are you close to the Banksy exhibition?

Hello everyone

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 15/06/2009 11:03

HV just been...
DS has put on another 2.5oz since Friday
That makes him 7lb 15.5oz
HV was fairly happy but wants to come back and weigh him towards the end of the week.
Am feeling much better now

lastboxoftampons · 15/06/2009 11:07

Oh, Ses, that's wonderful! I think you'll really see him gain from now on! Looks like the mini snip (as opposed to the more ominous MAJOR snip! ) really worked! So pleased for you!

Hi Sorky!

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 15/06/2009 11:15

Thanks LBOT
I remember feeling like that about movements when I was tired and wanting to unwind. I felt guilty as I'd wanted to feel those movements for so long. Reminds me of crying in early days of a newborn. That first cry when DS was born was so reassuring. Thereafter you just want to comfort them to stop them crying but if they're not crying you want to check they're ok!!

Kay - sounds logical to me, especially with the amount you've lost. You need to enjoy your weight loss!

Morning everyone else!

Ses - that's fantastic! Hope you can relax a bit now.

LBOT - I know just what you mean. I spent all Saturday stressing that I hadn't felt her move/kick at all then she decided to kick all night and I couldn't get comfortable and was just wishing she would stop for a bit .

Hey Sorky .

Kay - you sound like a real planner - just like me . Taking some time off TTCing to enjoy your weight loss sounds very sensible. Just enjoy those gorgeous boys of yours for now.

julesisoneyearolder · 15/06/2009 11:40

great news ses!! what a clever mummy and owen

we had counselling with relate 2 when we were rocky does work

sorky · 15/06/2009 11:42

Fab news Ses! He'll be a wee porker in no time at all

Movements, yes, I remember having mixed feelings about them towards the end. Moaning when they wouldn't stay still when I was desperate to get some sleep, then panicking when they hadn't moved in a while

Bit like the newborn days really. You send loads of time with a pfb waiting for them to wake up, but by 6 months you spend an equal amount of time waiting for them to go to sleep!!

Sparklytwinkletoes · 15/06/2009 12:19

Morning all! I'm back in the land of comms and very excited to hear Diege's news - also very impressed with Diege's DH's posts! I'm sure mine would have been lost. What a whopper at over 9lb, hope mum and baby are settling in together well.

I forgot to take my phone charger with me and it died on Saturday so didn't get your text till late last night Kay - but thanks for keeping me posted!

Am about to scoot off to a hair appt, getting my roots re-done and a quick tidy round. Then its home to try and motivate myself to get some jobs done... how can sorting out a sock drawer seem such a daunting task?!!

Ses - congrats on weight gain, so proud of you and pleased for you!

Must scoot or I'm going to be late, catch up later x

glaskham · 15/06/2009 12:56

wow- ses- what a good weight gain- i remember getting so exited at ruby gaining 2oz in 2 days... now she's gaining around 8oz a week on average!! Thats 2lb a month if she keeps it up!! I can't believe she's actually finally bigger than one of the other wagon babies, that shows improvement on her part. As for your LO- the gain since he had the little snip proves thats what the problem was... on average a baby should gain an ounce a day except sundays- so around 6oz a week is a good gain... so he's on track to be gaining more than 'average'... dont doubt your milk woman!!

Quck hi to say hurray Ses for the wt gain.

Am in a cafe on the sea front at Lyme Regis.

Hi eveyone else

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 15/06/2009 13:40

Thanks all
Definitely feeling relieved.

GYo - enjoy Lyme Regis. We stayed near there for our 1st Wedding Anniversary.

Glask - 1oz per day sounds a good guide. I'm pleased Ruby is doing so well.

Kay - how's Lavender?

STT - enjoy getting your hair done

Just watching the news about the IVF blunder. Just so tragic. I hadn't realised it was their last embyo too.

idreamofbeanie · 15/06/2009 14:45

I'm sitting with my diary trying to organise work stuff and also fit in a couple of weekends away to see my DB and some friends in Edinburgh. Even though we are really busy for the next 2-3 months the end of September seems AGES away and I am getting impatient to meet beanie . I should really just be enjoying having a lovely easy pregnancy - I feel really healthy and I love feeling the baby move now - but today I am just wishing the days away the LO arrives .

I bet I regret this once she is here and keeping me awake all night - then I'll wish I'd appreciated this time more .

Moosy · 15/06/2009 16:20

Good news on the weight gain Ses, well done you and your super boobies!

Not really very close to Banksy Sorky, that's in Bristol so about 50 miles away. We're actually closer to Lyme where GYo is - hope you're not having the thunder that we've got here.

Have been shopping for clothes this morning and bought white linen-y trousers and a spotty top from New Look (£30 for both - bargain!) and these shoes all for a wedding on thursday

glaskham · 15/06/2009 17:31

nice shoes there moosy!!

Have been searching for walking/hiking boots for DD1 & DS for the last 2 weeks... problem is they have very small feet, ie still toddler sized feet (size 6 and 9)... I've always had to have boots in the next size up for walking as you have really thick socks on.. so i've been looking for a 10 and a 7 sized walking boot.

Most stockists start from either an 11 or 12 and i found one shop that sold peter storm boots that would fit DS but they were £50... so thought i'd wait and if need be i can go back to buy him them ones.

Anyway, have searched ebay today and found a toddlers size 7 pair of boots to fit DD1 and they cost me a grand total of £5.99 inc postage... and they've only been worn once!!

then have searched for some in DS's size and hopefully will win one of two pairs i'm watching- both end tomorrow and i'm getting exited at the prospect of having sorted them out!!

I bought them walking coats, waterproofs, socks, thremals etc the other day... all i needed was their boots!!

We're going to walk Snowdon with them at the end of July!! getting very exited now!!

Just had to pop on to say huge CONGRATULATIONS to Diege and all the family on the arrival of little quite big Jacob! Hope you're recovering well and able to get home soon.

LB - so sorry to hear your news. Have you considered counselling? Thinking of you.

Brilliant news on the weight gain, Ses. FWIW I think you've done fantastically to stick at it. (It's no wonder BF rates are so low in this country with the lack of proper support.)

I'm feeling bigger by the day and not enjoying this muggy weather, particularly at work... think I have the hottest classroom in history. My boy is definitely quite chilled out and often find myself worrying about how little he moves. Completely different from my pregnancy with DD!

I asked ages ago about names beginning with the same letter - what I meant was having DD and DS both starting with a J. Is it OK do you think?? (Our surname is not a J!)

Hope everyone well. X

Wow, LBOT, you're next on the list!!!!

Evening all, just popped on to see how little owen got on today. Ses that is fantastic an oz a day is bloody fantastic... My owen has dropped to the 25th centile but has gained weight. I am not too worried because we only saw an improvement from Wednesday last week, so I belive the next weigh in in two weeks will be better.....

Owen now weighs a good 14lb so he is not small by any stretch!!

Thanks for all the well wishes I am a bit mixed up at the moment, dp is sleeping on the sofa and I am in bed at the moment. We havent spoken since yesterday but i hope that we can sort things out in time!!

Love to you all xx

Moosy · 15/06/2009 21:21

Glad Owen is doing well LB, how is his sickness these days?

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 15/06/2009 21:21

Bumpy - thanks for checking in and thinking of us when you've got plenty going on yourself. Hope things start to progress more positively for you and DP. Great about your Owen's weight gain too - is his sickness still improved?

Kooky - Hi! Good to hear from you! Re names, both me and my older brother and my mum all have the same first initials. In fact, me and DB have the same initial as a middle name too! Never caused us any problems

Ooh yes, LBOT - you're up next

I'm at home alone (with DS and the dogs) at the moment and I've just had a policeman knock at the door. A stolen truck has crashed into our driveway gate and wall. I heard the dogs barking but thought they were barking at the thunder! Apparently the police had been chasing him and had a helicopter out following him as well. I think they caught him but he won't be insured so we will have to claim either on our insurance or from the company that own the truck.

GYo · 16/06/2009 05:02

grrrr just did huge post on my phone and let it all

Hi everyone > glad the two Owens are doing well

Dd just slept for 10,5hrs straight! Am sure its a fluke but all the same its fab!

Got to go now as she is dropping off on me.

Bye for now x

Kayzr · 16/06/2009 07:08

Morning,

Ses, I'm very happy for you for the weight gain!! Lavender is fine, still very gorgeous!!

I've been up since 3!! Every night since Friday I have been up during the night. I am so exhausted and it is driving me mad. But DH has today off so I can have a nap!!

Hope everyone is ok, sorry I am rubbish at keeping up because I am so tired.
