Lots of the Dec 08 girls are talking about ttc from Sept onwards. I want to cry!!

Kayzr · 21/05/2009 11:43

Aahhhhh DS2 is asleep upstairs!!!!!!!!!!

Diege · 21/05/2009 11:44

LOL at all these lists - I like the done in bold too; makes me feel very guilty!
Have finished first batch of marking though, so a little star for me, although house is another question altogether.
KAYZ, don't feel sad! You are planning another in a year or so aren;t you?? I know what the broody-envy thing is like, but can honestly say this is my last time (that reminds me, was it MOOS who mentioned my ref to ds1?!! I see what you mean, but no more ds's or dd's for that matter from me!!!)
GLASK, come over and do my kitchen floor for me please! There is a piece of Easter egg lofghed in the corner that I can see, but can't quite bring myself to remove!

Kayzr · 21/05/2009 11:45

Planning to ttc from Sept/Oct 2010. It sounds so far away though.

GYo · 21/05/2009 11:47

Well done on the marking Diege

Diege- you are actually inspiration for me re kids. I am 31 now at DD1. Wondering if I can squeeze in 4 before Im 40!

OP posts:
Diege · 21/05/2009 11:59

Aww thanks GYO . I actually had dd1 at 31, dd2 at 32, dd3 at 35, and now 38 (for another 5 days!), so fitting in before 40 very do-able
KAYZ, that time will really fly, believe me. Do you feel that that will be it then, or would you like more still?

Kayzr · 21/05/2009 12:01

I don't know. I think if DC3 is a girl then we will probably stop.

SesHasFinallyBecomeAMum · 21/05/2009 12:01

DS has been asleep upstairs in Moses basket since 10am!!! Only problem is either me or my cousin have been sat with him all that time for occassional rocking & reassurance...

GYo - I'm now thinking that I really don't know how I'd cope with 2, nevermind the 3 or 4 we talked about. I guess you're a few weeks ahead of me though so maybe I'll feel differently in a month or so...
Mini meet up sounds good. I just don't know when I'll be driving again but people are always welcome to come here...

Kay - sorry not really commented on your routine but you seem to be getting some good advice. As for ttc, I understand your but you know you need to do what is right for you, your DH and DSs. The time will go quick enough in the end.

Glaskham - meant to say well done on getting the cat situation sorted so quickly.

IDOB - sorry you've been ill. Take it easy.

Diege - hello!!

Kayzr · 21/05/2009 12:06

Well that lasted long. DS2 is now awake.

glaskham · 21/05/2009 12:14

back from nursery collection.... feeding DD2, then lunch for me and other DC's then off to tackle upstairs...i'll do the ironing later!!

GYo · 21/05/2009 12:17

Ahh Ses thats great. Wouldnt worry about the rocking etc. A bit of reassurance is good, he still is tiny and used to being inside you !

I was adamant I was never doing it again after the birth, then I considered doing it again but via c-sect, then considered doing it again via epidural . Now I am game for doing it again via home water birth!! Reckon it will be better 2nd time round as I will know whats coming. The coping thing-think I will probably wait til DD is old enough to enjoy it a bit Also my body needs serious recovery time!

Diege- amazed you managed DD2 so soon after DD1! I will be 32 next month so not sure I will be going for number 2 quite yet
Always wanted loads of kids but that was before I realised it was such hard work espeically the early days plus a toddler...

Having said that the memory of the 'difficult' early weeks is already fading now... Think

Ho hum . KAyz, we need a corner of the wagon for broodyness!

OP posts:
Diege · 21/05/2009 12:19

GLASK, you make me tired just reading about your plans! Slow down woman!
KAYZ, how long did ds2 sleep for in the end?
SES, I have to admit I found the hardest no. of children being the chance from zero to 1; if someone had told me I'd have four, a few weeks after dd1 was born, I'd have laughed in their faces. The plan originally was for 3, but then as the first 2 were so close in age (16 months apart)3 did seem (to us) quite an odd number. I have to say 2 was easier than 1 though if that makes sense!
Off to mw soon, dh due back with dd3 from nursery soon for her jabs - had forgotten how horrible it is taking LOs for their injections!

GYo · 21/05/2009 12:20

PS a mini meet up would be good. Could see if Gruff wanted to join too

Talking of Gruff- are you out there? All ok?

OP posts:
GYo · 21/05/2009 12:22

second one has to be easier as there is an element of knowing what you are doing. Wondering if you easily remember how to breast feed etc?

Cant beleive Im even discussing this!!! DH would go pale if he knew!!

OP posts:
Kayzr · 21/05/2009 12:22

GYo, we certainly need a wagon broody corner don't we??

He slept for 15 minutes!!

GYo · 21/05/2009 12:30

LOL maybe just some buckets of cold water

Right off to baby massage/yoga. Back laters

Hi everyone!
You've all been super busy! And of course I've forgotten everything I've read already!

IDOB - so sorry you're not well Hoping you feel better soon.

Kay - Sept 2010 is not that far away! Plus, I'm sure that once DD2 starts being mobile and weaning, you'll be super busy and the time will fly! Not that I have experience...but...!

Ses and GYO - you both sound great! and I admire your keen-ness, but I'll be 33 in December () and we won't try to squeeze in (or out?) more than two. We've always said 2 absolute max anyway, so just as well really.

MINM - Lovely name! I tried Evan on DH and he didn't like it but I love it!!!!!

Moosy - your DDs sound precious. So nice the way they take care of one another!

Kay and Glask - well impressed with your cleaning! Wish I could get motivated the same way!

Okay, ladies, I need a good comeback. We live pretty close to DH's brother and SIL but I've only seen them a couple of times in my second trimester. Both times I've seen BIL, he's commented on my size. The first time, which was Easter, he said something like "It's nice to see you looking so well. Big, but well" I then saw him about two weeks ago and he kept saying "Wow, it's really showing now, huh? It's pretty big." Then DH said they spoke on the phone yesterday and AGAIN BIL felt the need to comment on my size. They've invited us over for dinner tomorrow night and I'm just poised for his next comment...so what do I say?? I should mention that yes, I've got a good sized bump going on, but I just saw the midwife on Monday and she said it's a good size and shape and I'm just measuring 1cm/week ahead of where I should be. Any ideas??

sorkycakey · 21/05/2009 12:32

In our case apart from the culture shock of having a baby full-stop, the hardest change for me was from 1-2, without a doubt!
It was a 20 month gap, which was horrendous whilst ds1 was little, but fabulous once he got to 14 months
It's also the reason there's a 3 year gap between the middle two.
The 3 year gap is tricky because they don't play together with ds2 as much atm, so we had Dd2 close to Ds2 so they would play together in the same way as the older 2 do.
That's the grand plan anyway

Going from 2-3 was the easiest, then 3-4 (for the first 6 weeks was exhausting, but we have a groove now)

Right onto Diege's syndicate:

DIEGE'S SYNDICATE
Previous Los:
dd1: 7lb 6oz, born 39+2
dd2: 8lb 1oz, born 39+2

IDOB 8lb 7oz, 9th June, 8.45pm

Sorky-20th June, 8lb9oz, 2.30pm

sorkycakey · 21/05/2009 12:34

LBOT I think a decent comeback is
"thank you, you're looking well too, you look like you've put a bit of weight on too, not coming out in sympathy are you?"

glaskham · 21/05/2009 12:37

count me out of the broody corner!!

Diege- trust me- all my list needs doing as the house looks like a bombs hit it!! I wanna impress DH with how much i can do in just the morning, including having to feed DD2 whenever she wants, and doing the nursery runs too!! he'll be gobsmacked at what i've done so far today... but i want and need to do mora- may aswell make the most of my cleaning mood- it'll wear off by tea time!!

GYo- IME if you've successfully BF 1st tiem round then 2nd & 3rd time is a doddle- you know what you're doing and its just egtting baby to know!! and they come out with a natural instinct to know!!

juleswastink · 21/05/2009 12:40

hi

busy bees [bee face]

kay - could you buy a booster seat for him to sit in up to table. dd1 went into a booster seat @ 18 months. now she is 3.5 years sits in a big chair @ the table.
the booster seats r great

hi lbotms good to hear from you

i have done :-

put in washing
hung up wet washing
taken down dry washing
put bottles in sterliser
put kettle on and steriliser on

just about to make bottles

dd2 is in cot for lunch time nap.

have put pasta on for lunch just about to dish up

bracken luved her pear this monring then she has rice after 6pm feed

bought dd1 2 leapad games and book for her interactive leappad on ebay well cheap

glaskham · 21/05/2009 12:43

really X-posted- started typing after kayz post about broody corner!!

Sorky- snap- going from 1 to 2 was the hardest for me (15.5mth gap) but by time DD1 was about 6mths old it had really payed off and was brilliant. This time round there's very nearly a 3yr gap (would have been had DD2 arrived on time)... this time has been an absolute doddle even with all the SCBU and back in hospital in the first few weeks!

lastboxoftampons · 21/05/2009 12:43

Thanks, Sorky Especially good seeing as BIL and SIL both have very weird body/weight issues. Not that you'd expect any less, would you?

Glask - be careful! Don't set any dangerous precedents!!!!

Hi Tink

juleswastink · 21/05/2009 12:45

right have made bottles
have reloaded sterilser
pasta is served just have to eat now

sorkycakey · 21/05/2009 12:45

I can recommend the tripp trapp chair for those who don't highchairs yet, not just because I use 2, but from a prof POV.
They're fabulously versatile, grow with the child, provide a perfect sitting position for feeding and are good from the start of weaning right through toddler and pre-school years, allowing children to sit right up at the table like the rest of the family

Once they aren't used as a baby chair they convert into the perfect deskchair, all ergonomic-like, really comfortable, supporting adult weight easily.
