Now listen here you early Juners, the fact that none of you has dropped yet is really putting the pressure on us mid-late girls. . I'm only 37.5 wks and feel like I've let the side down by not producing .

silk lol @ your shorts . Sorry, but you described it too well!

I oiled our outdoor furniture yesterday Ineed but just got backache .
Maybe daisy's fanny-oiling idea is a better one .

Tee I have one word to say to you: RANITIDINE. One 300mg tab per night and heartburn hasn't woken me once. My bladder has, but getting back to sleep is easier if you've not got acid. I still use Gaviscon after meals in the daytime but RANITIDINE has transformed those horrible acidy nights.
Hurrah for your nesting DH, send him round!

Doris our DS has always been a 6.30 riser and in the week that's fine but I do wish he's learn to lie in. His 11 yr old sis can sleep for England, just like her mother.
Hope your DD's Abs are the right ones this time!

Bunny bloomin' doctors! They don't spend that long on obs and gynae unless they specialise, but they do like to sound like the experts. Size of bump is to do with lots of things other than size of baby - including the size of you and your frame. My bumps have been the same size with a 2lb difference between babies - I carry a LOT of fluid in there, hence DH buying 4 giant decorator's plastic sheets and some gaffer tape to protect the bedroom floor . A towel just won't do it...

Dreamy I too could theoretically be pregnant until July - what a terrible thought! Must buy more pineapple...

Naat hope you're settling into new place nicely.

Bigcar and Effie thinking of you and hoping to hear news soon.

Hello mrsMc, Choccie, lauraloo and all of the gang.

A quick TMI to finish: after breakfast I went to the loo for a poo during which I had a huge vomiting urge. No receptacle to hand, so I grabbed a wodge of bogroll and turned round to throw bran flakes up in the toilet, whilst holding contents of my bowel in said paper. Then dettoxed toilet one-handed, threw 'full' toilet paper in loo, turned back round and finished bowel movement. I tell you, it was poetry in motion .

Soooo glad this will be my final pregnancy .

llynnnn · 31/05/2009 12:36

morning all just a quick check-in, no baby here yet either! although i did have quite a few crampy pains in my lower back and bump last night, i felt wierd in myself too and really thought something would happen in the night but NO!! feel fine again today!!

Come on little June babies, it is June tomorrow you know!!

ermintrude - sorry to hear about your awful incident today, bless you, hope you are feeling ok now?

dreamy - yikes another month of pg, i hope not for your sake!! doesnt sound like fun especially if this weather stays!

Tee - sorry about your heartburn sounds nasty, good on your dh though, bless him! is he nesting on your behalf!

Silk - sorry but i did lol at your incident yesterday, bless you! mustve been awful and so

bunnymother · 31/05/2009 12:46

Right, well for the sake of you mid-late Juners, and only for your sakes , am going to waddle off in search of nursing bras with high hopes that this will result in some kind of pre-labour symptoms. At 39+2 I am definitely letting the side down!

Ermin - you poor thing re bathroom time, dreadful. The indignities do just keep on piling up on us poor pregnant ladies, don't they??

Laura - your LO is definitely playing games with you!

Daisy - et tu, Daisy?

Ineed - and you, also? These naughty little babies foxing you and pretending they are on their way...

Wishing all you other lovely Juners a fantastic day!

MrsMcJnr · 31/05/2009 14:01

Multi tasking here drying my nail varnish whilst checking for babies off to the party at my Mum?s soon. The joys.

DS was up at 7am again and guess who was up with him alone keeping him quiet until 10.30 whilst DH and MIL slept? do heavily pregnant women get no rights??

Tee ? poor you with the heartburn, nasty! Great idea to keep Naat in touch. Can I borrow your DH please?

Bunnymother ? your day yesterday sounded lovely

Daisy ? that?s our theory, late to bed late to get up but DS has other ideas at the mo! Breathing featured quite heavily in the AN classes here actually but then again so did epidurals, in fact that was all that featured, there isn?t any gas and air here and I think pethadine is rare too. Poor you feeling so rotten. I hope the baby hurries up so you feel better. I?m not hung up on dates but I sort of wanted a May baby because I love Emeralds and that would have been her birth stone (and I might have got one in her honour one day!), June?s birthstone is a pearl. LOL at the oiling

Ineedmore ? still hanging on? watch where you put that oil!

Choccie ? I need my sleep too, I was up at 1.30am with DS back to sleep at 2.30am, up with my bladder at 4.30am and back to sleep at 5ish and up with DS at 7am

Hey there silkcushion hello Dreamy hi llynnnn

Doris ? yay for a show!

Laura ? sorry to hear you are still uncomfy

Ermintrude ? LOL at your exploits this morning!! So glad I have a bidet opposite my loo it has been so handy for such moments

Come on babies?????.!!

Naat · 31/05/2009 15:06

Hi lovely juners!!!!

I am in Leeds with DH and mum, showing her around under this lovely sun. For us it's heaven!!! I know that for you it's quite the opposite

I know that Tee and Ineed have updated you on the move and all as we exchanged some FB messages.

I'm an absolute addict to my computer, I knew it already but I've realised it even more now Anyway, everything went OK yesterday, the bloody man from the letting agency arrived almost 2hs late but well, all the guys started moving everything and leaving it ready so we finished it all at 12.30 as planned (some of our friends had to leave, which was why we were so worried about the delay!)

DH and mum were busy bees and yesterday finished tyding and cleaning eeeeeverything respectively It was wonderful! But I was sooo tempted to do things! You cannot even imagine, but they were both very strict and didn't let me move. I ended up completely tired and achy anyway, I guess the normal stress and long day did that.

Well, I read some post from yesterday (could not read it all as the message was too heavy for my blackberry email ) but I got the gist of the day: NO BABIES YET!!

I'm glad you're all ok, despite the aches and pains, heartburn, swelling, etc, but well, these babies will come soon!!! (insert hopeful emoticon)

I'll try and log on later, but don't know if I'll be able to. they're rushing me here, they want to continue sightseeing hahaha

Lots of hugs!! Let me know if any babies come!!! I'll bug Tee tonight for another copy paste email

(((waves)))

June2009 · 31/05/2009 16:28

Hey, just checking in!

I was hoping we'd go out today and finish buying baby stuff but I got up, had breakfast, tidied up and then got tired again so went back to sleep at 1pm and only just emerged. Being Sunday, all the shops will be closed by the time I have a shower etc, even if I "rushed" (haha!) I don't think I'd make it past the front door by 5pm...

Weird dreams last night, Dh had boobs that were leaking and he was saying "cool, I can breastfeed too!!".
I think I am worried that one of my nipples looks flat/inverted from time to time and has not leaked at all, whereas other one has leaked a tiny amount a few times.
I also dreamt that we'd booked a flight to the states and reaslied at the check in that being 39w pg now they wouldnt let me on and wouldnt refund the tickets, we were distraught. (Not the first time I dream about flying actually.)

Yesterday the phone rang at 10:30 pm and it was a (close) cousin of ours calling us at home cause sil had called her to see if she knew where we were, as she coudln't get through to us.
Our mobiles were on silent since the "active birth class" that afternoon.
Sil really wants to be the first to know the minute I go in labour, I can't think of a bad reason why she would want to do that so anyone else would probably think it's sweet but it's doing my head in.
Am I just mean to not want dh to call her? She says she doesn't want to come in the room, just wants to wait outside the hospital (but why?? what's the point? why is it important to her? I can't figure it out).
I've pictured us coming home with the baby, just the two of us.

It's the first baby in their family so I know it's important to them, first time they are uncle/aunties/grandad and I don't want to refuse them the right to see the baby or anything like that, I just want some space...
I don't know why I feel like that about them, if my aunties lived closer I would definitely welcome then in and not make a fuss of who comes when. (but they would not insist on being at the hospital and I know they would be helping with housework and food and not interfering with "advice" like sil and fil do).
Argh. Too much thinking for a sunday.
(Sorry for the self pitying post.)

We went to an active birth class yesterday and it was good, showing us positions for labour with gym ball, birthing stool, pool etc. nothing we hadn't done before but a week before the due date it was nice thing to do.
While there we saw a couple who we had AN classes with, they'd just had their baby :D
It was a girl and she was sooo cute, the parents looked elated!
Last week I was in no rush for the baby to come, now I can't wait :D

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 31/05/2009 18:37

It's weird how people are desperate to know the minute you go into labour, isn't it June? I don't understand it myself. My best friend keeps texting to make sure that DH texts her when I go into labour...... errrr.... no! We'll have far more pressing concerns than making sure she's informed (namely getting DS sorted so we can focus on the birth). Don't get me wrong, we've been best friends for 20 years and I love her to death, but this time is for just DH, DS and me.... I would just not tell SIL when you go in and text her when you text everyone else.

Naat - Glad the move went well.

MrsMcJnr - Hope you enjoyed the party at your mum's

Bunny - I'm also 39+2 - surely one of us is going to pop soon....

ermintrude - sorry to hear about your sickness, tho' impressed with your speedy bathroom skills!

Laura - hope you're enjoying your new trimmed grass and garden.

Tee - Hope you sleep better tonight.

Doris - Yay for the show!!

choccie - your meal sounded lovely.
Lots of cramps today, but nothing spectacular happening...

Walked round town at a rate of 0.1 mile an hour today. One more coat of oil needed on the steamer chairs and then they're done for the summer... just the table and chairs to go, which I am NOT looking forward to.....!

Just had a BBQ with DH and DS (who's been in the paddling pool all afternoon - there's a cute pic on my Facebook page for those of you who have it).

Come on Juners, we need a baby. I need a baby so I don't have to paint that freakin' furniture!

OP posts:
loooouise · 31/05/2009 19:04

Girls! Am absolutely flabbergasted none of us has popped!
Ineed, Daisy, Effie and Laura, my money was on one of you guys!

Ermintrude, who'd have thought that spontaneous explusion from all sides could be so balletic? You must be an excellent multi-tasker.

Bugger, was going to reply to you all, but Mum's just called me for dinner...33 years of age and I'm back in the parental regime... back online later.

bigcar · 31/05/2009 19:08

June2009 · 31/05/2009 19:31

YAY for bigcar!
Congrats on the baby Edward and thanks for starting the june babies :D Hopefully that'll have some kind of magic ballrolling effect .

blueberrysorbet · 31/05/2009 20:11

congrats bigcar, sounds a lovely healthy baby

june2009, your sil sounds a bit strange, does she plan to come into your house with you when you take home your new baby? personally i would just say no, its too soon and i don;t know how i will be after the birth, we will phone you and turn your phones off! her waiting outside hospital would really freak me out tbh its so nice when you get home to have some time justthe 3 of you, even if you do go straight to bed (to breastfeed/sleep!)

doc said my lo head was engaged and did i want to bring to bring the cs forward???
no, am too scared!
am itching like mad at night so they have done a blood test for colystosis(sp) as i had it at the last min last time.

am v keen to get more organised, have finished packing bags for hospital, wrapped presents from ds to baby/ baby tp ds, and am off to get ds vacc. done tomorrow-

have planned wed just me and ds1 having our last day together dh will be at the restuarant til gone midnight, up early for the cs 4 June

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 31/05/2009 20:12

Congratulations Bigcar, and welcome to the world Edward!!!

Hope you're getting lots of pampering at home after your difficult time, come back and give us the full run down when you're ready ...

As for the early Juners (yes I fully admit to not pulling my weight with the expectations) I will be 40 wks on tues I've never got this far before AND I REALLY DON'T LIKE IT!!!!!

Fortunately having had the first baby in Gib in August I do at least have a selection of outfits for the heat

Louise and Naat good to see you both back, still no LittleS am beginning to get a bit worried nothing since Fri and no updates from Effie so amybe more news due yet???

June- sod the SIL this is the time you get to choose what (and who) you want around!!! Stick to your guns girl and stay shtum....It may be worth having a word with the mw when you do get to hospital, and state in NO uncertain terms that YOU DO NOT WANT ANY VISITORS n(better still document on birth plan), as there have been many threads on MN of delivery rooms being deluged by family as soon as the LO arrives! Oh and YOU and Your DH and the LO are the important ones in this not any extended family (their time will come).

Well been active all day trying to encourage LO and has a few more pre laboury type bits but jiust knackered now so going to settle down with my book.

Night ALL

(I'm exopecting great things when I log on in the morning!)

MrsMcJnr · 31/05/2009 20:28

Yay our first baby is here!! Congratulations to Bigcar and family and welcome to the world Edward wow, what a whooper!! Bet he?s gorgeous! sorry to hear that the labour wasn?t great but lovely to hear you are safely home with your baby are you going to stay with us until a few more pop or start the post-natal thread?

Naat ? so glad the move went well hope you manage to jump on intermittently

June ? sounds like you needed the rest hon. Weird dreams indeed! I can totally understand your annoyance over the call, my MIL and Mum have people texting them telling me to get a move on I?ve not even hit my due date for god?s sake!! Just let SIL and everyone else know when the baby arrives and just tell her it was all too much going on to let her know during the process I agree that it is good to have practiced and to be aware of positions in advance. We did that last time round and I found it worthwhile.

Ineedmore ? LOL just how much furniture is left??!! I?m 39+3 eviction starts with passion on Weds.

Great to hear from you Loouise ? how are things?

Party at my parents was good, they had friends there that I haven?t seen since my wedding day (nearly 3 years to the day) and they were very complimentary about my bump and about my DS and he was such an angel I was so proud of him They were all very merry when we left, I suspect there?ll be some hangovers tomorrow!

DH finally got a few jobs done today thank goodness

lauraloo09 · 31/05/2009 20:41

Yey on first baby congrats bigcar and a big welcome to the world for baby Edward, what a lovely name!

Well BIL didn't show up today but i strimmed the edges of the grass just need the bulk done then sat out for rest of day on patio it was great, a bit burnt tho

naat glad to hear move went well
mrsmcjnr glad party was good and you could catch up with friends you've not seen for a while
doris hope you relax and enjoy your book x
blueberry is your section on the 4th? god not long to go!
ineed no more development with you yet?

Hi to all the other lovely juners! I have been quite concerned that we've not heard from littlesarah since Friday maybe she danced the baby out

LittleSarah · 31/05/2009 20:44

YAY for bigcar and Edward!! So fantastic to have our first baby! Can't wait to hear more, although sorry it was so difficult!

Sorry I've not been around, Doris in particular nice to missed! No baby here!

As my big ball is now over I really wish it would come asap, like June all my wanting to wait til nearer the date is over. Apart from nausea - which I'm not sure means a thing - I have no signs. Plus baby was engaged and now my bump seems so high again I'm wondering if he/she has popped back out! (And I know, I know, second time babies don't necessarily engage until labour anyway...)

Anyway, ball was lovely! Rather strange being sober with everyone else drunk or on the way but still had a good time. Very posh; George Hotel MrsMcJnr!

Also, Naat, my political communication tutor was there and he said again my presentation was very good and that of all those she had seen his PR co-marker liked mine the best! A colleague of her's also came over to tell me that too, so I definitely think your fabulous husband is partially responsible for that!! (She only saw about 7 I think but still...)

Anyway, then on Saturday I went to see my cousin with her new arrival - Angus - so so cute and tiny!! Was lovely, and dd was so good with him, wanting lots of cuddles and kisses.

There are pictures of me and dh before the ball and dd and Angus on profile if you fancy a peek. The last one is totally adorable if I don't say so myself!

Then yesterday we saw dh's mum for lunch and I took dd to the park to let dh recover from hangover and today we had a friend's dd's birthday and last minute baby shopping! (Dh now at pub with his brother and best mate and almost forgot his phone!!!

Right, I have checked in a couple of times but I shall now try and catch up properly!

dreamydowler · 31/05/2009 20:48

woohoo congratulations Bigcar on your baby boy what a healthy weight. Hope you get lots of rest and cant wait to read all about him Keep posting here as there are lots of us experienced mums whose shoulders are very wide
Well we are all on our way now I wonder how many more babies will be born this week? I got my double pushchair today and its lovely I feel like I will be ready by the end of this week having worked hard over the last few weeks to get what is normally a mad and messy house into some resemblance of an organised and tidy house. Hope everyone has a good night be it busy birthing babies or sleeping

llynnnn · 31/05/2009 20:53

hi all

CONGRATULATIONS bigcar on the birth of Edward - gorgeous name - sorry to hear the birth wasnt a good experience but so pleased you have your healthy little boy

Laura - I also have a bit of sunburn on my neck!! i layered the cream on too, how does it still get through!!

Mrsmcjnr - pleased you enjoyed your party and you got to show off your ds and bump! at least you wont have to worry about a hangover tomorrow

Doris - I'm also due on Tuesday and wondering when this little one is going to appear!! i had dd at 38 weeks so didnt go through this looooong wait last time!

Blueberry - how exciting for your section on thursday. If I dont get chance to say again i hope everything goes well and you enjoy the first lovely cuddles with your little baby

June - i agree with the others, dont text your sil straight away! thats crazy to sit outside the hospital and will add more pressure on you and dh to be thinking of her and trying to keep her informed etc! theres no reason why she cant wait until you are ready with everyone else!!

Hi to everyone else, hope you are all well this evening

Meant to say I'm on facebook if anyone would like to add me, my full name is Lynn Downing and my profile pic is a rather dodgy one of me with dark windswept hair

loooouise · 31/05/2009 20:58

Hoorah!! One baby safely here! Congratulations Bigcar, well done sweetheart and welcome to the world darling Edward!

Fantastic news!

I'm good thanks, Doris and MrsMc, up in Yorkshire now at the parental home, trying to tell myself that it really doesn't matter I've put on 18 kilos because soon I will meet darling firstborn

OK girls, let's start that June labour ball rolling. I've had my walk and pineapple and am to think naughty thoughts in the bath (as good as it gets for single gals who are 9 months pregnant) xxx

LittleSarah · 31/05/2009 21:02

Ooh Laura you missed me too! I. Am. Back. Did not dance baby out sadly, although did dance!

Ah Doris I didn't realise you've never gotten this far before, no wonder you're getting impatient. I was early last time and I can feel those itchy feet starting already.

Ineed - Poor you, still waiting!! Can you bump me on fb so I can look at your pic? I thought I knew who you were but now not so sure I am looking at the right page, so confusing with different names!

Naat - Glad the move went well and you are all enjoying the sun! I am loving it, and so hopeful there will be more of it.

June - Glad your AN class went good, they are helpful. I am reading this fab (very new age) book called Birthing from Within at the moment and although I don't have time to do much of what is suggested it is really interesting and inspiring. I have done some of the 'birth art' though; I have drawn 'Womb with a view' and me pregnant! Was fun. Sorry about your cousin, that is a bit OTT isn't it? I guess some people are just desperate to be involved but don't quite realise they are pushing it.

Ermintrude - Thank you for that loverly story, pregnancy is a joy isn't it?! Sooner it's over the better!

Anyone have any ideas where to buy hot water bottles? I didn't use them in labour last time but have been reading birth stories where they seem to have helped but don't have any! Was in a big Sainsburys today and nothing!

OH! Can't believe I didn't say, went over on my ankle today! Bloody sore, only slightly bruised and swollen so hoping it will heal quickly. Last time I spent half of my last labour on my feet so would be rather annoying have to go through it with a bad ankle!

Hello to everyone else, hope all is well and happy!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 31/05/2009 21:14

LittleS nice to see you back and had a good weekend

If you can't find a hot water bottle (hospitals I've worked in generally have policies against them) the wheatgerm / lavender microwave bags may be a good alternative??

Louise- don't worry on the single girl no sex front dh has issues a dislike to preganant sex, visions of bashing the baby on the head so I'm in a similar boat! You think he'd do the gentlemanly thing but between my snoring and the dd's night waking he's knackered and not enthusiatic, so RLT and nipple stim for me

Right really am going now

Night

LittleSarah · 31/05/2009 21:27

Oooh good idea Doris, although I'll be at home so luckily don't have to worry about hospital policy!

I'm also getting tempted by nipple stimulation...

ermintrude13 · 31/05/2009 21:54

CONGRATULATIONS Bigcar and welcome to baby Edward, delighted for you and family . Hopefully this first June birth will have the effect of a popped cork for the rest of the babies!

insywinsyspider · 31/05/2009 22:01

adding my congrats to bigcar! beautiful nanme, if this ones a ds we'll be having an Edward too - hope you're both being pampered at home and enjoying the sunshine x

littlesarah think I saw hot water bottles in larger Boots the other day...

Hi to everyone else, feeling really hot and bothered and bit down but not sure why, had enough of everything at moment which is sad as I can't help thinking I should just be excited about lo making an appearance and all I can think about is what bloddy hard work it'll be... last minute nerves??
