Ineedmore - sending lots of positive labour vibes to you

lauraloo09 · 29/05/2009 22:53

ineed here's hoping something happens for you tonight x

Last question I promise - i mentioned how i was constipated and yesterday had runs )sorry again for TMI) now I have piles and it's agony! Is there any creams I can use or do i need to go to gp to get something prescribed???

lauraloo09 · 29/05/2009 22:55

ermin meant to add thank you for your reply...the mucus has been coming out for about a day now in bits here's hoping it's something starting...also got a sharp pain there that wasn't like i had before so you never know

silkcushion · 29/05/2009 22:57

I think Bigcar will have had her baby by now but we get to hear of it for a while yet.

Naat - yr bloody sil sounds like an idiot. Tell her to f**k off - absolutely outrageous how some people behave and act.

MrsM I'm very of your day that you have planned for tomorrow sounds fabulous. Dd and I will waddle down our road collecting the Marie Curie cancer charity envelopes we put through our neighbours' doors last week. I can just about keep up with the pace of a toddler. Also think as I'm heavily pg with a cute toddler we might collect more money as we should get the sympathy vote.

Not sure what else to do tomorrow as I am struggling with this hot weather - perhaps I could have a baby?

Sleep well all (apart from Ineed who'll be producing overnight I think)

silkcushion · 29/05/2009 23:02

x posts Laura - no idea about piles I'm afraid but my show was thick mucus but definitely blood tinged not just like egg white

Definitely sounds like your body is gearing up for labour - frustratingly I discovered last time that it can still mean a week or so to go - I literally had seven days of thinking this is it before it did actually start for real. However I believe they say all these pre labour symptoms are helping your body prepare for the main event.

Hope you get some sleep - it seems like maybe you need to focus on conserving energy right now.

June2009 · 30/05/2009 00:42

Just checking in for news..
laura, I hope you're feeling better, is usual hemorroid cream suitable for pg women? I think you might be able to get some from a 24 hours tesco express or something (the ones at the petrol stations).
I think a warm bath would help with the pain.

silk I don't cope very well with heat either, was dripping with sweat all day (dh seemed fine though) and I am very glad im not pregnant during the summer.
(must remember that for n.2...)

Ooh naat I feel sorry for you, very
at this woman for making you feel like that.
It must be scary for you because of the history.
Does she have children? She may just be ignorant and not understand what pregnancy and a new baby actually means to the new parents.
Please don't cry over it, ignore her, she's selfish, rude and she doesn't matter.
(unless it would empower you to email her back and be blunt about her keeping her nose out of your life but personally I wouldn't even bother.)
my sil keeps asking to be godmother (not gonna happen) and that we must call her immediately when i go in labour. (not gonna happen either.)
At the end of the day, your life, your choice, and if she doesn't like it well, tough.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 30/05/2009 01:01

Hello all. Can't sleep as I can't get comfy. Might try and have a bath in a bit to help the cramps.

Laura - My first show was like an elephant sneezed (I thank ermintrude for that description!) and was brown colour from blood. There was loads of it, too. My later shows today were more like snot (sorry for TMI). Not had any since later this afternoon.

Will let you know as soon as anything exciting happens girls. I've just depressed myself by reading up on 'shows' and some women had theirs weeks before anything started. I'm going on last time with DS when it was a few hours. As I was already 1cm dilated and 3/5ths engaged yesterday, had the stretch and sweep and had the show today, I don't think it will be weeks.

Oh well, at least I'm seeing the consultant about induction on Tuesday so hopefully it'll happen at some point next week if nothing happens this weekend....

Hope you're all sleeping better than me!

Good morning all,

Just a quick catch up as I think I'll go back to bed and see if I can get any more sleep.

Ineed - I hope it starts to progress properly soon, as this 'transit lounge' activity is quite frustrating isn't it! Last time, my labour was fairly straightforward and I didn't have all this confusing prelabour activity. erm great description about the elephant. I never saw my show. The midwife reported having seen it in my maternity pad when I went to the loo in the hospital but I just remember looking at the maternity pad that was saturated and saying 'oooo, look my waters have broken'. I gave birth 40mins later.

naat - she sounds like a bit of a prima donna your SIL. What I really don't get is why everyone wants to turn up immediately after the birth, at a time when you are unwell, confused, trying to come to grips with being a parent etc etc. What is wrong with coming two months later, at a time when you are feeling better, more confident, would still appreciate their help, but are able to leave the baby with them while you go out for a coffee or a walk etc etc. It's like an Olympic event to see who can get there first. I don't have much in the way of family here, and my SIL and her dh are on hols for two weeks, so we won't see them for 3 weeks or so, and my brother said to let him know when it is a convenient time for him to pop up and meet his little nephew. That is probably all the family we will see....so a little 'lean' but I've got my new beloved cleaner to make up for it!!!!!

mrsmcjnr - I'm glad to hear you say that. I would have thought the occasional 'internal' was appropriate, so it has really surprised me not to have a single one this time around. Love your dentist analogy. Also, what really annoys me, is that (aside from my hands swelling problems), I have complained about nothing when I go to the midwife, she says 'how are you', and I reply 'on the whole, fine considering'. So to be treated so badly the only time I have a real concern, and so late in labour, felt very isolating. I will see what happens over the weekend though and like you say will have nothing more to do with her. Thanks for the will information. I really feel we need an interim will until we get some proper advice. I might get DP to jot down his thoughts over the weekend. You are so right about the childbirth scene in ER, I like to think of ER as gritty and fairly realistic but it was a bit ridiculous (however the bit that followed left me speechless and pale ). Good luck with making the brownies this time

laura - sounds like it's all go. Are you past 37 weeks yet? Sorry to hear about the piles

I got up to do my final photography assignment, but I feel so unwell at the moment, I can't think straight. I keep thinking I have more chance of completing it after ds is born but is that delusional!!!

Oh, the killer 90 minute walk doesn't seem to have done anything (and half of it was uphill!!!). Only one contraction last night. So already I am past my 'guess' date.

Like erm says, we need a baby today....'hello babies, could one of you pop out please'.

daisy5 · 30/05/2009 06:24

oh, and littlesarah/cinderella - waiting to hear all about your night out....

Naat · 30/05/2009 06:50

Morning Juners!

Not an easy night here, up at 2 and 4 for loo trips and now at 6 I'm up and can't go back to bed... Mum's awake fortunately so we're just chatting about

Thank you so much Juners after all your supportive posts, I must say I started crying even harder after reading them Bloody hormones!

Another chat/argument with DH before going to bed which was useless in my opinion. DH has such a hard time seeing the bad side in people, and of course it's even harder when it's his family. But with all the history we have he's supposed to know better. I must admit he's "learned" and realised a lot and made some big changes, but why is it so hard to say "she's deluded, she can forget it". No, he starts seeing her side, understanding bla bla bla, who the f*ck cares what her side is?? It's our first baby!
(June, she's 27, childless, bfless, everything-less)

I won't go on, as it's worse... thanks again for your words, Juners, you've been such lovely and great support ((hug))

ineed sending some happy birthing thoughts your way!! Fingers crossed for this wkend to be THE weekend

laura you sound very on the way as well Maybe choccie could recommend what she used when the "friends" appeared?

Silk I'm totally with you on "walking at toddler pace" I've never walked so slowly in my life! Hope you get some chunky envelopes today

daisy happy birthing thoughts your way too! Hope things move along soon for you.

llynn hope you managed to have a good rest

insy the boys are back!

mrsmc I watched ER. So sad to see it end!! That scene shocked me! Good Lord, was that necessary? Glad to hear your DH is better now and that he's arranged something for your anniversary on Tuesday Oh, glad MIL is coming back... she needs those meds and it's not good to be away without them.

tee you made me laugh in the middle of the tears with your "ten lashes"

ermin glad the baking didn't bake you! Yesterday it was 20° over here! For you British that's a lot! For us, it's just getting warm

june nope, I won't intervene at all, that would only make things worse. DH will handle it and firmly say "no". I didn't even get to show him your msg Glad you feel reassured with regards to the moses basket Nursery all done now, right?

Hello to everyone, hope I haven't forgotten any Juner

Right, in 2.30 hours the move starts. I'll keep using this connection until the move is over and after that will be able to read on my phone but not sure about the posting so I might send one of you a msg on FB until I see how I can steal get some wifi signal Cafe Nero is always an option should everything fail

Have lovely sunny days, Juners!!

(((waves)))

silkcushion · 30/05/2009 07:47

morning Naat - 27 single and childless explains it - she just doesn't have a clue what yr going through. [trying to reasonable emoticon]

Right then bit of a nag here but no lifting, carrying and overdoing it for you today remember - your important role is 'director of operations' ie bossing everyone around and maybe getting them cold drinks

Ineed - sorry nothing got going overnight - agree it definitely won't be weeks not as it's no 2 and with you already a bit dilated. You'll have a baby by Monday probably

Daisy - hope you've managed to go back to sleep

June - dd was born in November - can recommend an autumn baby/pregnancy - bad planning by us this time round eh?

Naat · 30/05/2009 07:52

silk yep, I reeeeaally feel like bossing everybody around Might work as a release exercise or something No lifting or doing anything, I promise

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 30/05/2009 08:05

Morning all... checking in again.

CCRRRAAAAPPPP night's sleep last night as was having cramps and toilet visits every hour. Probably got 4 hours or so but all chunked into little bits.

Like you, Daisy, it was all a lot more straight forward last time. I had a show, couple of hours later my waters broke, about an hour later contractions started, 10 hours later DS was here..... grr.... all this waiting around is doing my head in!

Trying to function as normal today. Pottering round the garden and bouncing on my ball.

Started using the move today Naat - no lifting allowed. Just boss everyone around like mad and get THEM to make you cups of tea or coffee....

Hope you are all rested and happy and that Bigcar is enjoying the LO that she must have with her by now....

Thinking of you Effie xx

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 30/05/2009 08:06

Sorry, that should say 'good luck in the move today Naat - not sure what happened there....

lauraloo09 · 30/05/2009 08:15

morning juners what a glorious day here and its to be hot today...around 24 degrees I couldn't manage yesterday with 20 so how the feck am i supposed to survive 24

daisy I'm 37 weeks today and so hoping things are going to start for me I also hope you were able to get back to sleep

naat good luck with the move today and like silk said no lifting etc you be the boss

ineed dont think you'll need that induction things may start this weekend for you. When I had my show (i think thats what it was) it was clear lumps on the toilet paper when i wiped and what appeared like a small blood clot in the toilet, now the discharge i'm having is clear snot like stuff sorry for TMI, so hopefully i'll not have too much longer to wait...wonder if some gardening work today could push things along

june thanks for your suggestion about cream think I'll pop into Boots today and speak to pharmacist and double check what cream i can and cannot use

Well today I was hoping to stay in house, well do some light gardening BIL was going to come over and cut the huge grass area I have as DH is at work until Wed but my mum wants me to take her into town which i really dont want to do but i feel so guilty at telling her i dont want to go that I have cancelled BIL coming over and will go with her instead just fancied getting garden done before anything happens.

Tee2072 · 30/05/2009 08:50

Good morning all!

Laura you can use Anusol cream or suppositories. It has helped me tremendously!! naat No lifting!!!! Just point and smile!

ineed I hope things start happening soon!

silk yes, whose idea was it to be 9 months pregnant in the heat??! Of course, could be worse...could be August!

I myself had a great nights sleep after about 2am when the heartburn finally subsided. Just got up about 10 minutes ago. Sending DH to the shops so I can...drum roll...pack my bag!!

Hi to everyone else and try to have a nice comfy day!!

ermintrude13 · 30/05/2009 09:00

Naat good luck with the move - and how good is it that your LO has been good enough to wait!

Tee I simply don't believe that bag's going to be packed. I bet you're making a cup of tea and reading a novel, never quite getting round to the actual packing

Enjoy the sunshine ladies, even though heaving the bumps in this weather can be a bit trying!

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 30/05/2009 09:16

HI all,

I can't believe there are still NO BABIES!!!!!

These are definitely sticky comfy LO's

Naat- hope you have a stress free move today and I fully agree you should have a T-shirt on with DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, do not get tempted to just move this here or that there!
WTF!!! with your SIL, stand your ground and don't be bulied into a situation where you are unhappy. This is YOUR time you know from previous experience the kinds of stunts they pull don'tget sucked in stand back and JUST SAY NO to anything you are unhappy with!!!

All those who've had shows etc (that's envy not TMI!!!!) still nothing really here, went for a walk yesterday with realy old bf, who had her LO 3mths ago, but nada not even a little cramp to show for it. My guess day was today but it's not looking promising atm!

Littles- hope you had a fab time last night

I am going to catch up properly later, but first I'm going to go and buy some paint for our garage so that can be painted in the next week!

Hope you all have a productive lovely day

June2009 · 30/05/2009 10:01

Hey, just checking in.
we went out for a meal last night and people were telling us we won't make it until next Friday.
I don't realise it but dh says my bump is "impressive". I showed it to my bro on webcam and all he said was "wooow". Since then he has been asking me everyday if I've popped, I bet he's telling everyone back home how huge I am.

laura Just a thought, could the blood you saw be from piles?

Tee Start packing your bags (Sending dh to the shop does not count as "starting") ;)

naat Good luck with the move!

We haven't heard from bigcar, I think this is a good sign :D

So after all the months of asking my dad and bro to come over (since xmas!), my bro has looked up flights to come and see us and came up with dates a the end of July which suits us, around 5 or 6 weeks after the baby is born.
Then dad started looking the dates up for the very cheapest flight and comes up with 3rd of July, 2-3 weeks after the baby is born...
I said no, it's too early.

The sonographer estimated the baby to be 3.5 kg already (7.7 pounds) and said she would probably be 4kgs (just under 9 pounds) by the time she's ready to come out. I really wonder whether my birth canal will stretch to that. I keep thinking that there is no way she's coming out without a bad tear, episiotomy or a caesarian.

We're coming up to 900 posts (that was quick wasn't it).
Shall we start thinking about a new thread title?
(For the post natal thread I think we'll find it easily if whoever starts it puts June09 in the title.)

It could have "pineapple" in in? It's mysteriously turning up in all the dishes/drinks dh prepares for me...

Busy day ahead of me, can't remember a single thing on the list so shall start with a cup of tea...

bunnymother · 30/05/2009 10:03

Morning ladies!!

This thread is moving much faster than the babies! Where are they??

Feeble attempt to catch up...

Naat - your SIL is 27, childless, bfless, everything-less (including clueless). I second what all the other wise Juners say - ignore (as much as possible - I know she has upset you. Big kick in the shins to her from me... ) Tee - loved your description of how she can help!! Good luck w your move, too!!

MrsMcJnr - delighted to hear you and DH have some romance lined up! And that it is followed by MIL jetting back, well, without her meds that can only be a good thing, right?

Ineed - ooh, am thinking of you and have all my fingers crossed that your LO comes soon!

Laura - gosh, do take it easy today when shopping w your mum! I am 39 weeks and went shopping yesterday for some last minute things, and got quite tired as a result...

Daisy - am also thinking of you and hoping your LO comes v soon! Thanks for all the BH/contractions info, too. Absolutely agree re visitors. I have a 2 month embargo on visitors staying with us (which = family) and you can imagine how that has gone down... But when people are staying with you its v different from a 2 hour stop by!!

I just know I haven't responded to everything I wanted to!! [sheepish smile] No baby and no real pre-labour signs for me, too. Just a bit of cramping on and off, but nothing regular or strong. Am not "showing" either.

Off for brekky, but hope all you lovely Juners have fantastic, and productive!!, days!! ((waves))

Tee2072 · 30/05/2009 10:16

I packed my bag. Can I have a cookie?

llynnnn · 30/05/2009 10:32

morning all

still no baby here either!! come on little babies its june in a couple of days!!

naat - hope the move goes well, take it easy though!!

laura - maybe the walk around the shops will help things along a little more, go steady!

Ineed - sorry to hear about your rubbish nights sleep, try to rest as much as possible today, sounds like things will def happen for you very soon and you need to save some energy for it

hi to everyone else, sorry its a bit of a rubbish catch up

my parents have taken dd camping for the weekend and dh is at work today so again I'm all alone in the peace and quiet! I have a little gardening to do and will have a wander to the shops to get a couple of bits but apart from that I'm going to rest rest rest!!

hope you all enjoy the sunshine today

Naat · 30/05/2009 10:34

oh my, Tee!! The bag is done!!!!

The bloody man from the letting agency is running one hour late!!! He just called me and told me he's getting here in half an hour, which will make it an hour and a half late.

So the guys are taking everything downstairs and getting everything ready.

I'll keep you posted.

chocciedooby · 30/05/2009 10:38

Just had a very quick scan througth your posts ladies.

Naat - So sorry to hear about the e mail you got from SIL. As everyone else has said, ignore the silly cow. She doesn't know what you are your dh are going through, hasn't a clue about having a baby and how special this time really is. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Families always stir things up, especially around the time of a 1st born. You are in control of the situation and thats that. As someone else said, if she wants to help, hand her the duster and vacuum cleaner Oh and the ironing, toilet cleaning materials, a few cook books and ingredients....the list is endless .

Laura - Is it you that said you have piles? Anusol is great. Get the cream and the suppositories. The suppositories help the heal you inside. Let me know if it gets worse. I am an expert on the pain and discomfort that these things can cause, believe me.

Ineed - sounds like things are really moving for you but not at the pace you would like. Hang in there girl. The baby will come when its ready and it will be all the more worth waiting for.

Have to go get showered now. Had a lazy morning. Need to bath the kids and start cleaning the house. Got a busy weekend as its our Bank Holiday and its dhs birthday on Monday. We are out for dinner tonight and maybe a nice long walk sfterwards if I'm not too full. Having friends over for a bbq tomorrow and then lunch or brunch on Monday for dh Bet I will be exhausted after it all but hey ho.

Have a great weekend Juners.

Will try and catch up again properly later xx

ermintrude13 · 30/05/2009 11:05

June just a quickie to remind you that 'guess the baby's weight' is a game played by sonographers that often has the same accuracy as the 'guess the weight of the cake' at the average village fair. And that thinking in too much detail about the miracle that is birth sometimes doesn't help - let's face it, it's hard to imagine even the tiniest baby coming out of one's fanny . Even if it is 9lb, it's more to do with head circumference than anything else - and my 9lb 7oz DS felt just the same as his 7lb 8oz sister, born 4 yrs earlier. You may well be amazed at just how stretchy you are down there . Try not to worry x
