Oooh, Ineed - very excited for you!!! Looking forward to hearing how you go!

June2009 · 29/05/2009 13:23

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhh Ineed
Good luck!! Have you called the mw?
Very excited for you!!!!!

I dreamt I had a show last night, not happened though.

We're all under way to get the nursery sorted.

Laura Any day now for you too .

It's all happening :D

Tee2072 · 29/05/2009 13:24

Ooh Ineed!! Good luck and keep us posted!

Finally! Some babies!!

dreamydowler · 29/05/2009 13:50

Hi Ladies How exciting Ineed and definitely sounds like you wont be long Laura. Ive just spent £50 on balloons for my daughters 18th next saturday so would be nice to get to see them Im not sleeping well neither was up about 4 until about 6 I think Its really hot here so have just sent my dp for a pool for the three youngest although I think Im going to be definitely tempted to get in too They still have another week off school and have promised ds age 11 a trip to gullivers world with some of his friends so a very busy week ahead.
I cant wait to hear about our first babies of the thread shouldnt be long now

daisy5 · 29/05/2009 14:36

Ineed - a baby is coooommmmminnnnggg. So exciting. Thinking of you.

I went for a 90 minute walk to encourage the LO along, but nothing happening here. Had a strong coffee and some chocolate - not sure if caffeine helps but who knows, maybe!!!

Glad that information was useful. I thought it explained a few things that I hadn't fully understood even though I've already had my dd.

june I filled a tupperware container every morning and kept it in the nursery (you know - the ones with the clip lock tops). Worked fine for me.

June2009 · 29/05/2009 15:35

Heya,

The nursery furniture is all in and I just need to decide which draws to put the baby clothes in, it feels good :D
It helps that there's 3 of us doing it!

I have a question about moses basket.

My friend just mentionned that she thought the one I have is quite shallow.
I think it's standard size but not entirely sure. We measured it and it's 15 cm deep. (it's this one.

Any thoughts?

Tee Just showed the amby to dh ;) He didn't know you could get that.
Presonally if it turns out to be too shallow I'd get a swinging crib .

chocciedooby · 29/05/2009 15:54

How exciting Indeed. Please keep us posted. Hope everything goes well for you and lo

June your moses basket looks pretty normal to me. The los only last in them for a max of 3 months and they can't tumble out at that stage so I wouldn't worry. It looks perfect to me

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 29/05/2009 16:17

Hello all.

Still really crampy and lots of pressure. Nothing regular enough to be classed as contractions though. Hopefully LO will be here at some point over this weekend....

Can't even go on a long walk to hurry things along because of the damn SPD.... oh well!

OP posts:
Naat · 29/05/2009 16:43

Hi Juners!

The weather is so lovely over here! The temperature is just right and the sun is shining Perfect day to welcome some LOs Go Bigcar and Ineed!, who are the most imminetn ones, so it seems

june your moses basket looks normal to mee too. at your friend's comment... did she mean it was not safe? Let's see what other Juners say. There's no line at the other flat, that's why BT comes on Monday and Sky can only activate things 5 working days after the BT line is up The worst moment to have no internet! But I must breathe and not wind up about it, if not it's worse

daisy hope the walk pays off! 90 mins, wow!

dreamy you're sweet to promise DS to take him to Gulliver's world next week, but bear in mind LO might get in the middle of that Sorry to hear you're among the ones who are not getting great sleep at night

laura glad the GTT went well but grrr that they take so long to give you the results!

choccie oh, your words were so nice! I'm absolutely sure everything that happens during labour is completely forgotten as soon as you hold your LO in your arms How exciting!!

silk your DD sounds lovely!!!

ermin how was the baking? I imagine quite hot, with this weather

littleS have a blast tonight!!! No sudden contractions, please

tee yay on packing your hospital bag!

Hoping to get some news from Bigcar and Effie!

(((waves)))

Naat · 29/05/2009 16:44

x post, ineed!

Have lots of pinapple and curry, then, if walking is not possible Your triple regime will hopefully work wonders Thinking of you xx

MrsMcJnr · 29/05/2009 17:01

Just popping in quickly to see if there is any baby news I'll come back later for a proper chat. Hope everyone is well

ohhhhhhhhhhhh Ineed gunning for you hon!

Bigcar - thinking of you too

Thanks for all your good wishes feel much better today although a bit jaded. The rash and feeling in my throat have gone and all that remains is my hands stying slightly swollen. It was all a bit scary. Baby has been doing lots of reassuing movements though so I am glad I stayed at home rather than go in to hospital.

Heard today that a lady I know who shared my due date (4 June) had her twins on 5 May, a boy and a girl, 2.5kgs and 2kgs

LittleSarah · 29/05/2009 17:14

Yay for Ineed, hopefully things will be moving properly soon!

I am such an idiot. Absolutely beautiful warm day and of course went out and burnt shoulders... right before ball!! Luckily looks okay from front so pictures should be okay but total strap marks at the back! All my own blinking fault too. Still, was a lovely afternoon a Naat obviously saw too! More of this please!

MUST get ready for ball! AHHHH why am I on here??

Hello to all, sorry not to catch up properly. June - moses basket looks fine, silly friend!

Daisy and Laura - hope things get moving for you guys soon!

ermintrude13 · 29/05/2009 18:30

Ineed ooh hope things move soon, good luck!

Naat I kept the kitchen door open and took it veeery slowly, so didn't get too hot and bothered. Also 'tested' a few too many and felt a bit sick . Isn't the sunshine fab?

Too fab for you, LittleS but I bet there'll be a lot of red shoulders at the ball - we get so excited at the first sign of sun that we go all mad dogs and English (wo)men about it . Have a lovely evening.

dreamy wow, I couldn't cope with more than a walk to the Co-op and back without feeling like an old lady. You take it easy!

June I agree with choccie that your moses basket looks fine and your LO won't be jumping out of it

Hello mrsMc, Tee, daisy and everyone else.

June2009 · 29/05/2009 18:56

Yeah thanks for the comments on the moses basket, just getting paranoid I think.

Have a lovely time at the ball LittleSarah

Nursery is looking ready now, maybe I'll have that pineapple at the weekend and join the race to get these babies out!

So that's bigcar ineed effie and possibly laura first, anyone else?

silkcushion · 29/05/2009 19:07

evening all

Ineed-sounds like you won't make it to Monday without delivering - very exciting.

Naat - hope tomorrow's move goes well

Everyone else hello have read everything and it's left my head already

Had a lovely afternoon with my friends. Dd lived up to her previous form and had both boys running around after her. She and little Charlie were sitting on the step together jabbering away in baby talk - it was almost as if they could understand each other - although if she's like me and my mum she won't need a man to understand just to be there to be talked at

DH has just come home and announced that he's been asked to work this weekend luckily he doesn't have to go to the office but is expected to do 8 hours overtime from home on his laptop. Poor sod must be exhausted after a long week anyway. He reckons dd and I will both need naps so he should be able to work and enjoy time with us when we're awake.

Hope someone has a baby soon

lauraloo09 · 29/05/2009 20:44

quick post before i catch up

I feel very heavy, uncomfortable and belly feels like it is going to explode wish this labour would hurry up i feel horrible

Naat · 29/05/2009 21:02

Hey

Sorry in advance for the "me post". I just feel like crying but cannot as my mum is here and she won't understand and make a fuss about it, probably.

DH just got an email from SIL. In brief, she told him she resented the fact we didn't "allow" her to come, that she and her mum just wanted to share this moment because it was important for them (yes, for them) and they wanted to help.

Now, am I being a complete lunatic at thinking that if you already have visitors at home, you may not find any extra visitors as any help at all but a hindrance, actually? Why do they think this is about them and that it's them who matter? Am I completely insane and unreasonable? I just can't get it, I can't get how this side of his family keeps thinking that it's ok to just say and do whatever they feel like when something big is happening in our lives... This was the exact same excuse they used when making our lives impossible before our wedding.

Oh, girls, I just feel so so sad... I really want to cry but I'll just have to lock myself in the bathroom to do it...

Sorry, I didn't mean to ruin anyone's evening with this sorry post but I just needed to vent, I feel like I'm absolutely mute now but with an extreme need to scream.

Tee2072 · 29/05/2009 21:06

naat what a cow your SIL is! Of course this is about you and Dh and the baby. And go lock yourself in the bathroom and have your good cry.

Then invite SIL over and have her help after the baby comes...by handing her a duster, the hoover and a toilet brush. Tell her that if she wants to help? That's the help you need. Oh, wait, she means she wants to hold the baby? Sorry, not the kind of help you need!

And no apologizing for me posts!! 10 lashes!!

I'm right with your laura. And I have about 2 more weeks until my possible CS and about 4 until my due date!!!

lauraloo09 · 29/05/2009 21:10

naat what a bitch your SIL is being, this is a very big momentous event for you and DH and I totally agree any more vistors would become a hindrance rather than a help. Like tee said get her over after the birth and hand her dusters etc and tell her if she wants to help then there is a house to clean very on your behalf go on and vent here and have yourself a good cry in the bathroom x

MrsMcJnr · 29/05/2009 21:33

Ermintrude ? LOL at the Supermarket Sweep connotation! I think it might have been walnut oil in the bread, not something I have ever been allergic to before but clearly something to steer clear from now! I will find out though what it was. So glad I didn?t give DS any just in case! When I was in the final stages of labour with DS DH said I was like a drunken old man at a party, just doing my own thing but chipping in if I didn?t like something I heard! hope your DS has a lovely birthday tomorrow! do you think he?d want to share it with a sibling or not?? How much would I love one of your brownies right now?

Naat ? DH is fully recovered now thanks and seems to be on better form we have booked a table at a lovely restaurant for our anniversary next Tuesday. Hope the move goes well, try not to do anything, it will be hard not to though! I think you are right about sweeps, apart from technique I think it has a lot to do with how soft and compliant your cervix already is. When I had mine with DS I knew that the conditions were already good and that I was 1cm dilated. Thought the last episode of ER was a bit of an anti-climax didn?t you? You?ll have to go to an internet café hon, we can?t survive that long without you! Poor you sorry to hear you so low over your SIL?s email, why do people have to spoil special moments?

Ineedmore ? how are things with you now? I remember almost weeping with joy when I had a show with DS, can?t help eagerly awaiting the same this time although I know it could be very different! I was more freaking out at what might happen if I went to hospital last night than how I was feeling to be honest

Silkcushion ? thanks I?m a lot calmer now I have to say! How exciting about the home birth kit arriving! that said there are some things in it that I would lose if I were you, like the enema ? hell no! I so hope it goes the way you want ? what is the first thing you are going to drink/eat once you get into your own bed with your new baby to relax?? I am so I wish I could have my baby at home sorry to hear DH has to work this weekend Mine has agreed to a long walk along the Marbella seafront followed by some yummy pasta my Mum and Dad are having a BBQ party on Sunday, when I asked what I should wear (you need to know that about my parents? parties) she said ?whatever still fits?

Laura ? sorry to hear about feeling sick and the runs they could be pre-labour signs though and therefore a positive thing hope the GTT comes back ok. Strange attitude though, why would it matter if the baby arrived before the results?

Hey Doris

Daisy ? totally agree, your MW?s attitude was very odd. My Mum can?t believe how few internals we have, it was apparently very different in her ?day? thank god we have fewer but when you request one for a specific reason like you have it seems negligent to refuse you. That?s like a dentist saying it wouldn?t be right to look at a tooth until it goes black! Idiot! I have to say, I?d be quite interested to know what state my cervix is in too. Lots of those interesting stabbing pains going on. Sorry that the contractions are taking their time to get the job done for you Another thing, if that MW turns up at your door after you have had the baby please promise me you will send her packing and not let her in? her attitude is the last thing you need just after you have given birth. You can buy a Will pack from Tesco which sets out all you need to do. Really though any document signed by you (on all pages) which says that it is your last will and testament is good enough as long as people know that it exists and where the original is. Better to have it witnessed but not essential (you could have it ?set up? if need be). (Naat don?t read if you haven?t watched ER yet) LOL I couldn?t believe the childbirth scene in ER, not really what we wanted to see and why after 3 previous births was she shouting ?No, No? as she pushed?! Thanks for sharing all of that info I learnt in AN classes that contractions will change the shape of the bump to a shoe box shape and BH won?t. Also, just from experience, I never had a contraction I couldn?t talk through which made it a pleasant surprise that I was as far on as I was with DS! I remember I had a list of things to do in early labour last time so I wouldn?t get bored, one of them was to make brownies but I didn?t have time!

Bunnymother - nice of your Mum to share that I never cursed men when I was in labour, DH and I were both very excited, he said it was like waiting for Santa as a kid because finally we knew the day had come when we?d meet our child and I second what Ermintrude said, it is amazing how your body knows exactly what it is doing and takes over I never thought I?d feel so calm and in control. We actually met a now friend in the carpark when I was in labour and we were congratulating him on the arrival of their baby the day before and I don?t think he believed me when he said ?any sign of yours?? and I replied ?well actually we are well on our way..?

Tee ? did you get those bags packed and the sheets out etc? I must move the Amby to my room so it?s ready to be unpacked; I wonder if DH can remember how to set it up!

Littlesarah ? hope you are having a fabulous time at the ball where is it being held??

June ? I was a milk leaker all through BFing with DS but it didn?t start until day 3 so I have 6 breast pads in my bag and that?s it. I?d take 3 nighties if I were you, you do sweat after the birth, might be due to the heat in the hospital, the plastic sheet under the cotton one and the fact that your body is getting rid of excess liquids through sweating. No running water in my nursery but you just fill the top and tail bowl on your way to change the nappy and then wash your hands after. I have a blow up change mat and an overnight kit of nappies and change of clothes etc for the baby in my room so that I won?t have to go through to her room and risk waking DS in the night. Moses basket looks utterly fine to me. Have fun sorting the nursery

Choccie ? thanks for your concern glad the OB appointment went well

Dreamy ? hope your baby holds off until after the party and gives you a few days after that to recover my Mum has a sis 18 years younger than her she?s only 8 years older than me!

MIL has booked her flight back home for next Thursday, being my due date

insywinsyspider · 29/05/2009 22:03

just popping in to see if we've had any baby news - will be watching out for effie, ineed, laura and bigcar! anyone else??

my boys are back now - feels lovely to have them home I didn't enjoy hot weather today, looks hot again tomorrow, I'm hoping for rain...

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 29/05/2009 22:04

Just checking in...

Lots of cramps, more 'shows' throughout the day. Lots of heaviness and pressure. About to go off to have a shower and try and get some rest in case something happens in the night.

Naat - Bloody hell. Your SIL is a complete BEEE-ATCH! How on earth does she think that this is anything to do with her? Why is it her experience? FFS! It's all about you, your lovely DH and your LO. They can butt right out!

Will let you know if anything exciting happens, though I can see this taking forever!

x

OP posts:
lauraloo09 · 29/05/2009 22:12

ineed whe you had your show was it blood tinged also see when you mention more 'shows' is it still blood tinged? I have been having more clumpy discharge but it is not tinged with blood x

llynnnn · 29/05/2009 22:24

just a quickie, good luck Ineed, sounds like it wont be long for you!!

dh took me on a loooooong walk this evening, was nice and did actually help my back ache but shattered now!! will catch up properly tomorrow

hope you all sleep as well as can be expected!!

ermintrude13 · 29/05/2009 22:35

lauraloo if it's just thick mucus, sounds like your mucus plug. There's a lot of it and I didn't notice it with DD but with DS it came out in one huge messy blob (sorry tmi) and he was born 5.5 hrs later. Thinking of you and Ineed MrsMc lol @ you keeping your cool in the car park whilst in labour - it does go to show it's not at all like on the telly. It's my DH's bd tomorrow, not DS's (I may have mistyped, mush brain at the moment) and he'd have loved to share it with this LO 'because then we could share a party every year'

Naat There are some people who don't think - Ooh, my DB and SIL are about to have their first child, how lovely, I'd like to help in whatever way they'd like me to. Instead they think - right, a Major Family Event is about to happen, I must be involved at the centre of it and in a way befitting my status. She needs to get over herself - and don't you stress about it, it's selfish, thoughtless behaviour and worthy of ignoring completely. So there!

insy don't you dare wish for rain! I'm loving the sunshine!

We MUST be getting at least one birth announcement tomorrow. Night night for now x
