Hi all

Fed up with this banging head-overdosing on paracetamol.

Next haven't got any maternity skirts in and I like to get my legs brown in the summer.

My boobs are fuller but don't really grow in size.

theboob-wow, that is some bump.

LittleMissBliss-sorry to hear DS is poorly.

Flame-the sickness is crap isn't it. I was hoping it would have gone by now but no such luck.

Feel like throttling DH as I have asked him to cut the grass as I can't really do it until after the baby is born. All he has done is complain about the positioning of my trees and plants so have threatened to get someone in to cut it this summer. He even counted up the number of pots on the patio-I mean, how does that affect mowing the lawn? I know he detests gardening but he is partly repsonsible for the state I am in!

Enjoy the sunshine while it lasts!

Thought my boobs were bigger, but are in fact just fuller. They shrank so much after stopping BF that its quite nice to have a bit more. Shame I cant wear lovely underwired bras at the mo (oooo no) so saggy pg bras for me.. soooo attractive!

Back to feeling dog tired again after my recovery from being sick the week before... well still only 10 weeks, so cant complain really! Feel for all of you that are still suffering so much with MS and headaches... when will it end?

Hope some of you got some sun today.. we had such a lovely week, spent yesterday on the beach with ds.. great fun. Overcast today though, but at least it isnt wet. It rains here on average more than blighty, so a surprise!

Spent the day at the new house entertaining ds while dh stripped wallpaper (and carpet off the walls..!) How did I ever think that ds would be content to play in the garden (we dont have one currently) rather than 'help' Daddy?! Doh! The last place we renovated, we were young, without kids and plenty of energy... what have we done!!

dogstar · 04/04/2009 17:25

talking about the garden HC I was going to ask you all if you think I can get stuck in? I have a catch22 type problem with the local cats using my borders to poo in - but unless I tidy them up and put stoney gravel down as I plan to do I think they will continue to use my garden as the neighbourhood loo .

Is the toxoplasmosis danger airbourne? Can I risk it with rubber gloves and gardening gloves??

Or do I just watch DP do it all wrong ?

HumphreysCorner · 04/04/2009 17:43

Be very careful and wear good gardening gloves. It is not airborn so you will be fine. My cat poos in my border and that is the one I weeded this morning.

HumphreysCorner · 04/04/2009 17:44

BTW-they will love gravel as it will make a lovely kitty litter.

dogstar · 04/04/2009 17:59

aah ok if you did weeding this morning it can't so dangerous!

The gravel I plan to put down is big beach like pebbles - try and lift those buggers!

Since you are around HC can I also ask if you think it's ok to eat supermarket salads from the deli? I have a craving for some middle eastern salads and falafels - but NOT a dose of listeria!

x

HumphreysCorner · 04/04/2009 18:43

All bagged salad needs washing even though it says washed and ready to eat. I can't see a problem with the salads you get from a deli as they will have been washed already I imagine. I would certainly eat the salads that Morrisons have as it is only like digging in at the yummy Pizza Hut. Lol at the big pebbles-if they can't scrape it over the poo they don't bother and happily leave it on the surface. Can you put some Get Off Crystals down if they become a problem? I know how annoying it can be as until recently I suffered with next doors dogs pooing in our garden so had to put chicken wire up being as though they never intended to do anything.

Dogstar just wear your gloves & wash your hands also afterwards. I work at a cattery where there are always over 60 cats there on holiday. I clean them out everyday, plus i have cats of my own. Just be careful if you do gravel, they might still pee there because its there "loo"....you can get some great things to put down that dont hurt them, so check that out as well, good luck!

HC i spent the whole day yesterday in bed, im getting headaches but once a fortnight now, one gets unbearable. My DH told me to get on with it, untill he seen the state of me yesterday, i was being sick because of the pain. Its not like we can take very much for it....grin & bear! Im also having trouble getting him to cut the grass! Our garden is on a steep slope, so im not going to even try it. When i asked him he said....do we have a lawnmower? Yes dear, for the last 6 years!!

Hope everyone else is feeling well today!

Flamesparrow · 05/04/2009 10:12

I had a headache from hell yesterday too, and only asprin in the house which I wasn't sure if I could take.

I feel normal today. I had forgotten what it felt like. I may even have a sex drive returning. (Be warned, over the next however many months/years I will share far tmi with you).

I had bagged salad yesterday and completely forgot to wash it or anything

Trying to train our cat to poo outside rather than me have to put up with the litter tray, but the thing is a wimp and freaks out if you take her in the garden, let alone suggest pooing in it! I've never had an indoor cat before, tis weird.

DevilsAdvocaat - what size clothes are you? I am being sent some maternity bits from an MNer, who got them from another MNer - I know there is at least one skirt in there, will post it on to you if it is no good for me (claiming anything that does suit me ). Looking at your pics, unless you have grown lots I would say you are an 8-10? Think it is a 10...

rubyslippers · 05/04/2009 10:40

morning everyone - glorious weather here

we went out at around 8.30 with DS to get some bits for breakfast from the market - he is leanring to ride his bike so it was a slooooooooow walk

am going to read through the posts in more detail now but hope everyone is doing ok

littlepea72 · 05/04/2009 11:01

Flamesparrow, have you thought about getting an electric/battery catlitter tray? They are great, the cat goes and does its buisness, and the litter tray then cleans itself. All you have to do is empty the bottom part...no more digging in with the scoop!

Flamesparrow · 05/04/2009 11:48

I just make DH do it - cheaper

Attacking our bedroom, have cut away the fabric from the (very old) divan) to create storage under the bed, now whacking all the crap that we don't want to part with, but never touch underneath it (and possibly some of the children's clothes to grow into that apparently are never making it as far as the loft )

HumphreysCorner · 05/04/2009 12:55

Have been to Tescos for paracetamol plus this morning as normal paras aren't working. Waking up with a PG migraine every morning is killing me. Was begging the lady in the pharmacy to say I could take aspirin or something stronger but she said no and wasn't keen on the caffeine in the plus tablets. Darn! Still going to take 2 after lunch. Haven't felt any movement for a while so off to check for signs with the doppler. My DH is fed up with me waking up miserable every day but as he never suffers migraines he hasn't a clue. I get them every month and have done for the last 20 years and usually don't get them when PG but unfortunately haven't been so lucky this time.

Sorry for the me, me, me post. Lunchtime methinks-need bread!

Flamesparrow · 05/04/2009 12:59

Read that as paracetamol plus because normal bras aren't working

for you feeling so bad though

littlepea72 · 05/04/2009 19:18

HC i have been using that 4head, along with the paracetamol. Rub it on the sore parts & it almost feels like it freezes the pain.

Got to go to the hospital tomorrow for Downs testing. I have to go to the British part to get bloods taken, then take the blood to the lab, then return with the results where i get the scan. I then have to return next week, but im not sure why? Does anyone else know?? I did ask, but the German nurse didnt really understand what i was asking.

dogstar · 06/04/2009 12:23

thanks HC and everyone for giving me advice re: stink cats and salads. HC I'll have to get those anti-cat crystals. Think the cats round here are determined pooers!

littlepea can't think why you need to go back after your tests. If you get the tests and all is ok (& good luck with that) then that should be that till 20 weeks? I guess different countries have different ideas about antenatal health. ---I met someone yesterday who told me she didn't bother telling the doctor till she was 8 months pregnant, and only did then so she would have a midwife. Very casual approach .

sammysam · 06/04/2009 15:18

Hi everyone-feels like I haven't been around for ages!

Had a fantastic time at our friends wedding on sat-the waether was great and it was an AMAZING wedding-but both dd and I are still paying for it now !
I'm so tired and over the last week and a bit i'm waking up between 1.30 and 2.30 and not being able to get back to sleep-not good!

Finally had acupuncture with my lovely acupuncturist-so hopefully my ms, stress, back, sleep and trapped wind will be better soon She is also affliiated with Zita West and has suggested I take her supplements-so have just ordered a couple of months supply.

Thank you ICBINB-it's good to hear some propper info. How can you be sure when 8wks is? Hopefully i'll get the results of the second tests back this week.... Thank you everyone for your kind messages-it means a lot x x x

Re bras-i'm still in my non-wired bfing bras so no probs with underwire-have had to use the bigger hooks now though-my rib cage has expanded already-which seems a tad early!!

I hope everyones ms is easing a bit now-I still feel very sick but haven't been sick for almost a week now so i'm very -just can't wait to be able to DRINK-i'm so thirsty!!!!!

A day and a half til we attempt potty training-any hints and tips????

I hope everyone is well and that any scans have gone well....

Treats · 06/04/2009 16:50

Hi everyone.

Loving the new easter smilies

I am firmly in waistband-avoiding territory now. My job is mostly sitting down and I'm finding that most of my skirts and trousers dig in really badly and that those lovely control top tights which I used to be so fond of are now my worst nightmare. I've got some dresses which should see me through the next few weeks and have invested in some slightly looser tights so that I don't feel like I'm suffocating. went to the theatre with DH last week and was wriggling around all over the place trying to roll down my tights during Act I because they were so uncomfortable. Have had to loosen my bra a notch as well.

Went to visit ILs over the weekend. Never my favourite thing, but was hoping that things might be better now that I'm pregnant and we're about to give them a grandchild. In particular I want my MIL to be about after the birth, since my own mum is going to be torn in two between me and my sister (who had her scan last week and has had her due date moved to THREE DAYS after mine!!!). I was really hoping we could have that conversation but it didn't happen. The best I got was that they'll try and be back from their holiday in Turkey on time, but I couldn't be sure whether that's just so that they can come and see it, or whether they actually plan to help us out.

I think I'll leave it until I'm nearer mat leave and then invite her up for lunch one day. She can look at what we've done with the nursery and come shopping with me for some baby clothes, and then hopefully I can have a more detailed chat about it. It's always hard when DH and his dad are around.

Got my NCT dates through at the w/e. Anyone else doing this? Was a bit at the prices - £279 for two classes - but everyone i know who's had a baby said they found them really useful for meeting other new mums in the area. Again, in the interests of making sure i've got lots of support, in the absence of my mum and sister (sort of), it seems worth it and anything that can help prepare for the birth is bound to be helpful. More at the NCT shop catalogue they sent. Not the prices this time but the sheer variety of STUFF. I had no idea.......

littlejay · 06/04/2009 16:50

Hi everyone
I'm 34 and 12+2 into my first pregnancy. Loving these threads as they're so full of useful advice. I've just moved from London up north so haven't many pregnant friends up here. Signed up for ante-natal classes though so all that should change!

littlepea72 · 06/04/2009 17:28

Hi & welcome littlejay.....

Got good news today, from my scan the risk of having downs baby is very low, but she said if anything came up with the bloods she would phone. Happy days! It took about 45 minutes to get everything she needed from the scan, the little one was bouncing arround so much! It was great!! She also tried to find out the sex, but it was having none of it! Next week i have to go back, i need a smear test & yet another scan! I was told that the germans are crazy about scaning! Not complaining.....

Got a phone call from my mum to say that my little sisters FIL died. He had Cancer all through him & had been in so much pain, lovely man, but better for him. its always the nice people who suffer.

Hope everyone is feeling good today.

Treats, you can only do so much with people, your MIL will never be away when the baby is born. If not, then its not for you trying, some people are just down right strange! Most MIL's are!

fidelma · 06/04/2009 17:48

welcome littlejay.

sammy Potty training I am sure everyone has loads of tips my biggest advice is that you the mum have to be ready.Lots of asking, taking and paying attention.I was caught out last time and expected toooooo much.Good luck.

Feeling not too bad still being sick on and off but a little better.

Really need to get some maternity clothes.Different coloured bump band at verbode

HumphreysCorner · 06/04/2009 19:44

Hello and welcome littlejay. Congratulations

littlepea-that is good news from your scan. Very about your sis's FIL.

Our antenatal classes are free but I only went to them when PG with DD1.

Feeling much better but tried a cup of tea and it is still disgusting so need to stick to soda water methinks.

Hope all OK.

HumphreysCorner · 06/04/2009 19:48

Oh yes, potty training. Be determined and remove nappy during the day and get a comfy toilet seat and use choc buttons as bribery. DD2 was determined she wasn't going to do it but at 2yrs and 9 months I was determined she was. She either wet herself or used the potty/toilet and in the end she realised which way was best and she got a button every time. Good luck!

runs in quickly to do a happy dance - mate gave me some maternity bits today including an amazing little black dress which will be ideal for my weddings in the summer

LittleMissBliss · 06/04/2009 20:16

Treats can't believe you have to pay for your classes!
Mine was free and at the hospital run by the midwives. To be honest i didn't learn anything that i didn't know already. I didn't stay in contact with anyone i met there either, the mum's i've met are through mother and baby/toddler groups and they are free. It may be worth researching if your hospital does a tour of the labour ward as that will be free and probably a really useful experience!

Welcome littlejay!

Ds is a little better but still a little wingey so and so. Made me wonder today if i was slightly insane to be having another. Sure that will pass when he's back to his delightful self.

Hi everyone else!
