I wanted to keep it as Dp and my little secret, but he's about to burst. So far he's had to tell my mum, my dad, his mum, his step dad, and a guy at work.I suppose it's cute really, but he's adament he NEEDS to tell his sister so I have drawn a line.He says for 2 weeks, I say another 8 weeks lol.We move house tomorrow so there's going to be lots of lifting and things. DP won't let me do anything so all the people who are helping us are going to think I'm very lazy I guess. I'm going to do the unpacking.I've worked out I was 5 weeks yesterday. Which feels really weird. I knew at 3 weeks last time and we told eveeyone straight away! I haven't even got symptoms this time, except I felt a little tired yesterday and tried to have a nap but DS kept shouting 'mam' for his playpen lol, and he just wouldn't have a sleep all day.. or all night I'm off to pack now. Mum's coming to help me.Soo excited.Hope you are all feeling well.Moosy- thanks for adding me to the list

sleepychunky · 08/04/2009 10:05

Morning everybody - great to see some new people join us since I was last on (really annoyed that I can only access at work atm)
We are planning on telling my family on Friday as we are all getting together for a Good Friday meal and as DH told his parents the day I told him, I think it's a bit unfair making them wait any longer. Plus my sister is visiting from Newcastle and going home on Saturday, and I want to tell her in person rather than on the phone, and since she's not coming back again until DS's birthday in June there's no way I'm waiting that long!
No real symptoms as such, although I do feel a little bit queasy (but not enough to feel that I'm actually going to be sick). Will ring GP tomorrow and book a midwife appt - we have to wait till 7 weeks which will be the week beginning 20th.
Our office closes today for an Easter break so I'm not going to be able to get online very regularly for the next couple of weeks. Hope that there are a lot more people on here next time I log on!

Moosy · 08/04/2009 10:20

Have fun telling your family sleepy, and good luck keeping yours a secret MoB!

We REALLY don't want to tell family yet but we're seeing everyone this weekend and I'm starting to feel a bit tired and queasy. Hoping I can keep it hidden for a while longer though.

sickbubby · 08/04/2009 17:41

hi all, I am due 3rd dec ish, from the date of the first day of your period workings, thing is I can't remember the exact day, know I was 'on' on the 28th Feb (wore white dress to party and was paranoid about a leak!)

Anywho, I am hoping to get a better estimation at the dating scan (not that it means much was 11 days late with the first!) although am not too confident on whether I will get one or not, as am living in a different county now and is over three years since my last pregnancy.

Husband was over the moon - not! His excact words were 'oh F**k'... yes exactly darling!!!

Had HG with 1st so am scared I'll get it again, tiredness and nausea have kicked in this week almost constant. Starting a new job too so can't let them know until after my probabtion period, am hoping I can conceal it until July (unless it's a 6 month probabtion in which case I am screwed)!!

charleymouse · 09/04/2009 00:03

I know it is so hard to keep quiet isn't it not sure whether to have CVS or amnio myself will discuss with MW when we meet.

Woohoo, congratulations ooh DSDs birthday, could be a good present.

Hi everyone, feel crappy, have had tummy bug over the weekend and now have terrible sickness, seems much worse than last two pregnancies. Also had first nose bleed yesterday and feel pooped but maybe just cos I am so old. Glad to see there are some other gluttons for punishment looking at numbers 3/4.

DH is being so good and keeping it secret and I want to tell everyone but he is worried he will have negatives from his family who will think we are mad and wants to get a bit further along. I know some people will be shocked as we have one of each already and they will wonder why are we having another.

I am sat here with my laptop on my chest/tummy do you think this is okay?

So excited, looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few months.

JumpingJellyfish · 09/04/2009 09:37

Hi Charleymouse- we too are a bit wary of how DH's family will react- we also have one of each and my pregnancies have usually been fairly stressful towards the end so I'm not sure they'll understand why on earth we'd possibly put ourselves through all this again- especially with the added issue of CF. So have decided to definitely keep quiet until after the CVS if all comes back ok then. Last night MIL stayed over at ours (she's minding the DCs while I work today, but lives over an hour away so came up for the night) and I was sooooo tired and pretty nauseous too it was hard to not give it away- luckily I have a stinker of a cold so blamed that!

sickbubby- really hope your probabation is a short one!! It's so hard keeping it quiet. Congratulations anyhow!

And many congrats to all the others recently added- look forward to getting to know you all hopefully over the next 7.5 or more months (fingers crossed)

JumpingJellyfish · 09/04/2009 09:40

PS. charleymouse- just had a nose at your profile pics- your DCs are so beautiful. Love the one of your DTs. Must have been so incredibly hard. My DS was also 1.34kg when born at 30wks! Hoping to top that again this time!!

MumOfBaby · 09/04/2009 12:37

I went to EPU today, and they couldn't see anything on the scan. They did a test and it was negative. But I had downed loads of water just before it.

Then I came home and did a pregnancy test and it is positive 1-2 weeks.

I'm in a state.

They said I've miscarried.

Have I? Please can someone shed some light?

Breaking my heart at mo and DP is so upset, too.

Tillyscoutsmum · 09/04/2009 13:11

MumofBaby - what made you go to EPU ? Have you had any bleeding ? If you're only 5 weeks, then I'm not sure anything would show up on a scan anyway (an internal one presumably ?)

I really don't know but will keep my fingers crossed for you

Tiaxx31 · 09/04/2009 14:33

Hi every1, congrats to you all too(ssshhh we all says mums the word)lol
All of us must be just the same as for not telling friends around us just family well certain family members eg..my sister i have told. Obviously my partner and my son(age 13). This is a total shock to be going to have a lovely bundle of joy.feel scared but excited, i am due about 5th dec(i think) i am seeing the doctor in 3 weeks monday so will be having a scan then. Is any1 else on there none 1st pregnancy as i seem alot bigger then what i should be, stomach feels hard and had to stop wearing my underwire bra as blimey it was digging in and making a really bad mark. Bought a maternity bra cost me £29, nearly passed out and that wasn't due to feeling hot or sick, lol. Shocking the prices of baby things as to when i had my son in 95

Take care every1 x

MumOfBaby · 09/04/2009 16:28

Tilly- had had a little bit of black blood when I was due on so doctor sent me up to be on the safe side. I feel like I'm still pregnant, so I'm hoping for the best. Been to the doctors this afternoon and she thinks the hospital test is wrong as 8 home tests have been positive now, and they didn't even do an internal scan so she said nothing would show up on a tummy scan anyway.

Moosy · 09/04/2009 17:20

MoB, I had some brown bleeding around the time I was due too, I assumed it was implantation. If your hpt's are still +ve and you still feel pg then you probably are!

A normal scan certainly wouldn't show anything at 5 weeks, I had one at 7 weeks last time and was told she didn't expect to see anything, and she didn't! DD2 is certainly very much here though

MumOfBaby · 09/04/2009 18:00

Thanks moosy... so is it worth me keeping a little hope? Or should I have no hope and put myself through hell for the next week and then if I am pregnant I can be happy?

I just don't know what to do. Feel so helpless and embarressed.

Moosy · 09/04/2009 18:35

I think if it were me, I'd try to forget about it (yeah right!) for a week then do another test if no bleeding/pain by then. If that's +ve then I think there's probably nothing to worry about. A small amount of bleeding is very common early on, especially if it's old/dark blood, if it was bright red I'd be more worried.

If in doubt can you go to GP/EPU and request another scan in a week or two?

Fingers crossed for you.

Claire236 · 09/04/2009 18:51

MumOfBaby - I hope you're doing ok & haven't lost any more blood. Fingers crossed for you.

Congrats to the new BFPs.

whistlejacket · 09/04/2009 21:31

Keeping fingers crossed for you MumOfBaby, I know quite a few people who've had some bleeding very early on in pg and everything's gone on to be okay. Hopefully things will be okay for you too. Let us know how you get on.

We're not telling many people yet, thinking I'm going to get some comments from family when we tell them as DS2 is only 9 months old. Know what you mean Tiaxx31 - I'm sure tummy is bigger already - my stomach muscles totally non existent!

Clairypops · 09/04/2009 22:24

Hello,

i found out on friday that i am 5 weeks pregnant. I am due December 10th!

PLease god, dont let me go 2 weeks late!!!!

MumOfBaby · 10/04/2009 16:25

Just wanted to let you all know I've just taken another test because my nips are dark, I'm sick as a dog and smells make me want to puke. Positive line has come up very quickly and strong. So i think it's safe to say I'm pregnant and their test has just been a fluke negative after a very big drink of water.

I haven't bled and I think the little black blood was implantation as it was the day my period was due. Have become much more optimistic and I do feel pregnant. Due 9th not 10th by the way xxx

whistlejacket · 10/04/2009 19:46

Sounds like good news for you MumOfBaby - unhelpful hospital! Keeping everything crossed for us all getting thru the early days.

Baisey · 10/04/2009 21:57

Congratulations everyone!
I found out I was pregnant on April fools day, so I think it might be a December baby.

I havent even been to see the midwife yet, I phoned the Dr's and said I didnt think there was any need to see him, so I have an appt with midwife on 22nd April!! Wish me luck!!

sassenach · 11/04/2009 11:11

Hi everyone and congratulations! MumofBaby I hope all's okay with you. It sounds to me like implantation bleeding, usually turns up around the date your period would be due. I'm pregnant with number 2, due 9 Dec by my reckoning. Wierdly I've had no nausea yet although had it big time by now with both previous pregnancies (one miscarried). Just hoping this isn't a bad sign but enough people on these boards seem to have had different experiences in different pregnancies that I'm still optimistic!
