Welcome to the thread maggiebenton!

Got my pram from the shop today! Had a good play with it and let Jake push it around, he tried to lie in it bless him!
Now all I need to do is wrap it back up put it in one of my mothers spare bedrooms and forget about it lol.

Is anyone still feeling tired? I seem to feel like ive gotten worse.

And omg had the biggest crying fit today in the car. All stems down to the fact my boss (evil tosspot) doesnt want me to have a chair on the shopfloor, but I can have it behind the staff door... because he is soooo considerate... I will tell him where to go because I know im well within my rights to have a chair behind the counter, but its the fact im having to have words with him that pisses me off.
Considerate my arse... dickhead.
Thank you for listening to my rant!!!
(hope I havent scared you off maggiebenton!!)

Good to see a chat about double buggies, most people I know have a Phil & Ted one - is it really the best one or are there others just as good? (and cheaper?!). DS2 will be 18 months by the the time DC3 arrives so will def need one. I wish I had one now, DS1 was happy to walk everywhere so I didn't get one. As soon as DS2 arrived he wanted to get in too. He has a buggy board which he sometimes uses but it's not the same.

SarahL2 · 20/06/2009 20:19

I can't believe they're giving you such a hard time Baisey. How can it be so terrible to let you have a chair!? I think you're right - he's just being a tosspot cause he can!

Had a look at twin buggy alternatives today. The little setas that clip on to your buggy side saddle style seem to get terrible reviews for falling off a lot so they're out and I'm not sure about Buggy Boards. My friend had one and it always meant that you had to push the buggy in a really weird way with your bum stuck out. This wouldn't do my back any good and would be a complete no-no if I end up with another section! Also wouldn't work when we do our park walks as they only really work on smooth paths.

Still going to hold out till near the end though and see how Ds is getting on with walking places. He was running off at the zoo today. Was bad enough when pushing a buggy loaded with coats! At least I wasn't so bothered about leaving that behind...

BexieID · 20/06/2009 20:27

Baisey - i've asked to not go on basket tills as I find them too much sitting down not pregnant. Hurts me right across my abdomen. I've been told that I can, but not at certain times as we'll fail our targets. I am allowed a chair in the tobacco kiosk, but they are too big really for the space in there. I dread going into work. When I was pregnant with Tom and worked in England, it was on the photolab and they were wonderfull.

Baisey · 21/06/2009 09:07

Its annoying because when I was pregnant with DS there was no problem.
When my old boss was pregnant, again, no problem. (Damn her for not coming back lol)
Now my new boss is saying that its because we are no longer stand alone and he is following mothercare procedures, which I know isnt true because the mothercare store is right next door to mine and Im friendly with all the staff there and even they say he is talking shit.
Im going to have it out with him but the trouble is whenever I think about what I can say I get all upset and have a panic attack.
It cant be a case of hitting targets because we did that every week before tosspot came but now we rarely do, the customers cant stand him and end up going to the nearest out of town store.

Milliemuffin · 21/06/2009 21:26

Biscuits & Pinkjenny - just wanted to say best of luck for tomorrow, hope all goes well, will you be finding out the sex?

Hope everyone else is ok and had a good weekend. I've had such uncomfortable ribs this weekend, feels like baby is right under them which i know it isn't but still.

Nite all xx

sparklycheerymummy · 21/06/2009 22:50

hi... havent been on for a few weeks as trying to crack on with house stuff. But am soooo cross i needed to rant and ask for advice. I work in a school and we have the lovely ofsted people are in next week for 2 days. Trouble is i have my midwife appointment on one of the days and as my scan moved me on a week in theory i am a week late for it. I didnt hear the heartbeat very well last time at midwife and although i saw it on the scan i really need to hear it. i also had high blood pressure so need it checking and am being monitored for my depression etc.......................ANYWAY my head has basically told me that i should cancel it and show dedication to the school and pull together like everyone else is. I tried to change my app but the clinic is only on once a week and there are no other appointments. so i would have to wait another week and make myself 2 weeks late. i feel really upset as i love my job and am happy to stay late and go in early all week but i really DONT want to cancel my appointment. . . . my baby is far more important than my school.

AprilMeadow · 22/06/2009 08:37

Just popping in from the May07 (&Sept09) thread/s to say hope all goes well with your scan today Pink, drop me a text/send me a piccy xx

Charley glad to see that you are continuing the TPT fun

Big waves also to Tilly

BexieID · 22/06/2009 13:03

I might see if my midwife or consultant or even GP would write me a letter (or sign one on behalf of me) regarding my request not to have to go on basket tills if I don't feel upto it. Putting through entire trolley loads is really painfull. At least if the request has been made in writing, if anything did happen to me or baby they can't deny I haven't made a request. My last pregnancy handbook from when I had Tom basically says I can get signed off by midwife/GP on full pay until I go on mat leave, but i've not had the current handbook yet, so that may have changed.

No employer can deny you time off for ante natel appts. I will have a problem soon a I have 2 3hr appts in the morning coming up. Another scan/consultant appt and glucose test. I don't think MIL would have Tom for the entire day, 8:30am-8:30pm, so may have to say to work that I can't work as have no one to look after Tom.

LaDiDaDi · 22/06/2009 17:19

Welcome madremia09 and congrats on the scan Milliemuffin.

Is anyone else thinking it's a bloody long time until Xmas?

I had an itial flurry of excitement with this pregnancy but now it all seems to far away. I'm not sure I'll get excited again until I can see tinsel in the shops.

Has anyone told older sibs yet? Dd is 3 and I think I'm going to try to hold off until my 20 week scan so I can tell her if she's having a brother or a sister.

Catz · 22/06/2009 17:23

Welcome madremia - add yourself to the list (copy and paste it into a new message and add yourself) if you'd like to.

Hope the scans went well today. Biscuits and pinkjenny.

Milliemuffin - I've had exactly the same thing with the ribs, just on the right hand side. I have that late pregnancy 'hmm is that a foot in my ribs' feeling as if I'm about 35 weeks (I sincerely hope I'm only 16 wks!). I made the mistake of googling it and, like all things, it could just be one of those things or a sign of serious pre-eclampsia! Together with my weird visual disturbances from a few weeks ago that's a touch worrying but I think 16 wks is very early for any probs so I'm going for the 'one of those things' options.

oh - not sure if the toilet roll challenge is still going. 6.5 sheets at 16 wks exactly, managed to get into a size 8 dress in the evening - though a very billowy empire line one - so was very pleased though I suspect I looked absurd.

Baisey · 22/06/2009 20:02

oooh how interesting Catz. I have been often feeling something just under my ribs on the left hand side, I just assumed it was all my insides jiggling about to make room. Or that sort of thing anyway! Will be something to keep an eye on.

Catz · 22/06/2009 21:44

Hi Baisey - I don't want to make you paranoid. I think you're right, your body seem to think 'ah I remember this, the insides all squidge up to the top 10cm and the tummy sticks out' and does it really quickly! Am sure that's all it is. It's just that when I went to see the mw to have my blood pressure taken after some odd visual problems she specifically asked me about pain under the ribs on the right hand side. I'd not had it at the time but remembered yesterday after having it for a few days. I googled it and it can be linked to pre-eclampsia but it seems that it has to be on the right side as it's something to do with the liver swelling. Also, I think it is something that is extremely rare until late pregnancy. Much more likely to be the insides squidging. Though I should say that my medical expertise comes from googling for 10 mins before bed last night!

Is anyone else feeling the baby move now. Have been wondering for a week or two now but had several definite movements today (16+3)

anniebigpants · 22/06/2009 21:47

I too have felt movements this past week, am 17 weeks tomorrow, especially if i eat fizzy sweets!

BexieID · 22/06/2009 23:13

I've been feeling movements as well, but i'm only 13+3, so maybe not .

Harimad · 23/06/2009 08:52

This is my 2nd, and bizarrely, I've been convinced I've been feeling movements since about 6 weeks! So much so, that I originally wondered if I'd completely got my dates wrong and was a month further on!

I know, I know, if anyone else said it, I'd think they were crazy , but it's only been sporadic, and it feels exactly the way it did with DS1 (but much later on then!)...

Pinkjenny · 23/06/2009 10:37

Hello all

Had my scan yesterday and all is fine. I have a corpus luteum cyst on my ovary though which is probably why I still feel so crap, hopefully it'll reduce soon and I'll feel a bit less sick.

They have actually dated me as 2nd Jan unfortunately, but as I will be having a section, I'll no doubt be having this baby in December, so I feel justified in remaining with this thread!

Dd was so cute at the scan, she keeps lifting up her top and saying, "I have my baby in my tummy, mummy."

biscuitsmustbedunkedintea · 23/06/2009 16:46

Glad your scans were fine Pinkjenny & Milliemuffin. Mine also was ticketyboo. Found "Baby Frog" as DD has nicknamed s/he straight away with profile very clear and heart beating away. As I was spot on 14wks yesterday I was a day late for the hospital to be able to do the nuchal fold test. The midwife did then offer us a blood test which does the same thing but takes some time to get the results. As we wouldn't act on the results (ie have the amnio if it showed I was "high risk") we opted not to have the blood test.

Earlier this week whilst sitting in a meeting I'm sure I felt the baby move across my tummy. Had that feeling like s/he had their feet up against my tum and was walking their way across. Think because I remember the feeling with DD I knew what it was.

Been feeling a bit faint this week. Did put it down to returning off hols and being a bit jet lagged but it's been 5 days since I returned so maybe not. Am resting up and keeping cool which helps.

Baisey · 23/06/2009 17:34

Ohh dont worry Catz im not paranoid!

I have felt the baby moving since quite early on and now this is most likely a coincidence but I often feel the baby move when im reading "Saturday Night at the Dinosaur Stomp" to my DS at bedtime lol, it could be the story but im thinking its because im all hunched over so DS can see the pictures as I read!!

Glad peoples scans went well, were you the lasts ones for the 12 week scans or is anyone else due?

Not long now till people have their 20 week ones then it'll be fun finding out what we're having! (if some of you are finding out that is)

TPT for week 15 was 6 and a half. This week it is 8!!! Bloody hell...

Claire236 · 23/06/2009 19:33

I was 16 weeks yesterday & have been feeling movement for the last few weeks. It was strong enough last night for dh to feel.

SarahL2 · 23/06/2009 22:03

Has anyone else been feeling really faint? Was kicking a football with DS this afternoon and had to sit down and had the same while making sandwiches with my brother at the weekend!!

Its a new one on me, don't remember being so faint with DS.

Only got a couple of weeks till my 16 week midwife appointment so will talk to her about it then if it's still bothering me I think.

Milliemuffin · 23/06/2009 22:37

Sarah - are you possibly anaemic? I had that loads with DS and have had a little recently but my blood tests so far have been ok. Just have to remember to get up slower and not rush about too much amd eat regularly. A few times recently I've not had lunch til gone 2 and I only realise because I start to feel faint.

Does anyone have other children under 2yo? have you tried to tell them you're having another baby? DS has been climbing all over me and apart from the obvious 'I'm not a climbing frame', just wondering if any of you have said anything to your little ones?

SarahL2 · 24/06/2009 08:02

You might be right Millie. My diet has been rubbish due to my morning sickness, although I am taking pre-natal vits still...

I was only anaemic after my c-section last time. Midwife was convinced I should have had a transfusion but it was never even mentioned in the hospital! They should take a whole new set of bloods when I go for my next appointment so I'll mention it then.

My DS loves to climb on me and he's 2.3. Have told him he needs to be careful of the new baby and now he kisses my tummy. It's so sweet I bought a book called "There's a House in Mummy's Tummy" which has become one of his favourites which explains what's happening in a simple and fun way.
