Yup - I had insomnia like that from around a week before I tested - it was so different to my normal sleep issues and so familiar to what I'd experienced last time (along with very vivid dreams) that I was 99% certain I was PG very early on

Pattymc, I felt rough as can be on Friday which made me test even though I was only d24 (obv. got a bfp) but since then I've felt ok apart from these weird twingy pains in my tummy.

I've got dd aged nearly 3 and I don't remember pains like this from then but nor did I have any ms with that preg.

Just feels like sooo long until a 12 week scan [anxious emoticon].

Hello all, hope everyone's doing well. I need you to tell me I'm over reacting and being silly and everything's fine please. I went back to work today after the Easter holidays and found out in the afternoon that one of the TAs I was with in the morning was sent home with a rash that her doctor says has a slight chance of being german measles. Doctors can't fit me in for a blood test until Wednesday, so feeling slightly stressy and need to be told to calm down and stop being daft!

I am sure this thread will pick up soon. I'm kinda only lurking myself till I've had a scan - can't allow myself to get too excited after such a devastating experience last time. Off to the GP this morning to make this pregnancy official and beg for an early scan - will turn on the waterworks if necessary - pretty easy owing to hormones and a slight bleed last night

fingers crossed for the early scan if not why not just ring epu?

Hi Madmissy - GP has requested early scan but can't guarantee they will do it, so we'll see (I didn't have to turn on the waterworks - they turned themselves on when she asked me about the last MC - blardy hormones !!)

The EPU here is GP referral only, so if I get refused, all I can do is invent cramps and bleeding - not keen on doing that, so it might have to be a private scan for peace of mind.

Hi everybody it's ages since I posted as I haven't had internet access for a couple of weeks.
So pleased to see lots more people on here, so welcome everybody I haven't seen before!
Have my first m/w appointment on Thursday so have filled out all the forms. Still feel completely non-pregnant (just like 1st time), and have no symptoms at all, so yet again I think I'm going to have to wait until the scan shows something in there before I believe it!
Am trying to decide when to let work know - I work in a small charity and having me away for 6 months is going to mess things up majorly. I told them at 6 weeks last time because I couldn't keep quiet, but not so keen on announcing just yet for some reason.
Anyway, better get back to work but hope to be back soon!

Jools glad you got a referral- hope you do manage to get your early scan sorted out soon.

Well I'm after a bit of hand-holding here... Have my first consultant apt & scan on Thursday- I will be 7+3 weeks then by LMP dates. Does anyone know if this will have to be an internal (eek) scan? Never had one this early before, only at 12 weeks or greater. They have to date me on Thurs ready to book the CVS etc. It's making it all seem rather real and very scary I guess in 6 weeks time the wait for the CVS results etc. should all be over...but it seems like a lifetime away.

Meanwhile I am pretty nauseous and dog tired but not actually being sick which is something! Getting quite bad tummy cramps at the moment, after nothing for a couple of weeks, so that's making me a bit nervous, so in a way it's a relief to know I'm getting scanned on Thurs. I think though it could just be lots of trapped wind or bloating, both of which seem to afflict me pretty badly when pregnant!!

Better get back to work...though my hearts really not on it right now!

JumpingJellyfish - I've never had an early scan either,but from what I've read, you should be OK with an external scan unless your dates could be a little off, in which case they'll want to double check with the dildo-cam !

I think my boobs are growing by the hour today, but no real nausea at the mo and no major tiredness (other than from waking up at 3am every morning !)

I seem to have suddenly bloated today - tum feels huge and the scales are 4lb up on what they were a week ago - OK, maybe 2lb of that is Easter choc, but not all of it as I've been relatively good !

Joolsiam- I don't own any scales (as constantly live in denial about never get back to my pre-pregnancy weight post DD!) but I do feel like I've certainly put on quite a bit! I feel very hungry a lot of the time, and in a way eating frequently is the only thing that staves off the nausea...that's my excuse anyhow! I'm not looking forward to being weighed on Thurs, which I know they'll do also!

Really hope the scan on Thurs isn't internal, the thought just makes me want to run far away!!

Bestlaidplans, have you heard anything more about potential GM? Most likely that it isn't but I can understand you being worried. When will you get the results of tests?

Am off to see GP on thursday to request early scan.

I should think the early scan will be internal at 7 ish weeks - honestly, you really won't care. I don't care who sees mine anymore, lol

DP is going to get a shock when he gets in They keep catching my eye now and I have to stop and admire the fact I actually have a cleavage for once

Hello everyone, can I also be added to the list? I think my EDD will be the 16th Dec but as this is my first baby I'll probably be eating my Christmas dinner in labour!

We haven't told anyone yet as I'm not seeing the Dr until Thursday but I am dying to spill the beans so this is a good compromise for now.

I'm new to mumsnet but loving the information on here.

jumpingjellyfish i had a internal at that stage but only because my dates were out and turned out i was less so please dont worry think it will be norm scan unless its t hard to get good focus. if its internal its ok bit uncomfy but still get same pic there on screen

Hi to all the newbies. I haven't posted much (paranoid, as is everyone I see !). Had 2 mc's before dd and it took a really long time to conceive her but this time, I got my BFP on the 2nd month so I can't help thinking something is going to go wrong . Trying desperately not to stress though

Not too many symptoms so far - bit nauseous in the afternoon and quite tired & emotional and I am already really HUGE . I have fibroids so look much bigger. I was massive with dd and have started showing even earlier this time. We've not told parents or anything yet but will need to as soon as we see them because it will be quite obvious. We're probably going to book an early scan privately (about 8 weeks) just for reassurance.

Hello all, my boobs have been killing me today but no signs of growth yet.

Yesterday I had a v. good friend on the phone crying about her ttc issues. Will be seeing her next week with other friends and I'm going to have to tell her otherwise it will be obvious as I won't be drinking and as she's a good friend I already feel bad about lying to her. Niot sure what to say to be tactful though at least she does know that I've been ttc so it won't be a total shock. Anyone got any advice?
