hi raggie - yes, its awful being right at the end of the month. i was the very end of may with my first and it was rubbish being last!!! partly because when all the exciting labour stuff started happening, there was no one on the board left to chat to because they all had their newborns already. so as i'm likely to be early december this time (despite a due date of end nov, all our family have late babies it seems...) i thought i'd join this board too / instead! Did you have the same plan? x

charleymouse · 05/04/2009 11:07

CONGRATULATIONS

BFP on 1 April a bit nervous as had MC in January and DST1 died not long after birth so have been booked in for early scan on 24 April and then have dating scan on 8 May. Bizarrely have 2 scans booked but do not have MW apt yet. Told my MN mates but only person in RL who knows is my Mum.

I'm bursting and want to tell everyone but have just started new job (with existing employer) and don't want to rock the boat just yet.

What is it with the 7th? Funny if we all arrived on due dates.

Cheesecake sounds good to me, have had sugarpuffs and then ice cream for breakfast.

JJF shall we hold each others hands I am a nervous wreck as well.

Flumpity - DC2 (have dd 22 months) - EDD 27 nov - 1 Dec
Pumpkin20 - DC2 - EDD 4th Dec
Charleymouse DC4 (have DD 4, DST2 2 DST1 Angel) - EDD 7 Dec
JumpingJellyfish - DC3 (have DS (nearly 4) & DD (21mo)) - EDD 7th Dec
Sleepychunky - DC2 (have DS 22 months) - EDD 7th Dec
Moosy - DC3 (already have 2 DDs) - EDD 9th Dec
damnitdamnit - DC2 (have DD 19 months) - EDD 9th December
Deanychip - DC? - EDD?

Me fussy, nah, have just put into date/alphabetical order hope this is okay.

Ineedanewname · 05/04/2009 17:38

Me! I am, nice to meet you.
This will be #3. Have had lovely symptom-free pregnancies before but it seems this one is going to be a rougher ride (I think I am having Braxton-Hicks tightenings already even though I don't think that is officially possible. Plus heartburn, dizziness, weird food preferences).
EDD is the 7th too!! Has somebody nobbled all the online calculators?
DD1 was 18 days late; DD2 8 days over. Am not expecting this one on the EDD

crunchynutter · 05/04/2009 18:01

Hi! I got a BFP yesterday and if i have calculated right I think I am due the 4th of December but i've not had confirmation from the doctor yet. I just checked one of those online calculator thingys but i'm not sure if my last 'period' was actually implantation as it only lasted a day and was very light so i'm not sure until I can speak to the doctor

By the way it is my first and I am completely clueless LOL all I've known so far is that I am falling asleep every hour or two and having to eat or drink something small hourly too or I feel sick.

Pumpkin20 · 06/04/2009 10:06

We have so much to look forward to over the coming months:

Backache
Bleeding gums
Constipation
Cramp
Discharge from breasts
Faintness
Fatigue (extreme and overwhelming)
Feeling hot
Headaches
Heartburn
Indigestion
Itching
Loss of marbles
Nausea (constant, for weeks and weeks)
Nose bleeds
Passing water often (all the time, I seem to remember)
Paranoia (over health of baby if any of these unpleasant symptoms disappear for more than a few hours)
Piles
Sense of humour failure
Sleeplessness
Stretchmarks
Swollen ankles, feet and fingers
Vaginal discharge
Varicose veins

And that's if we're lucky and don't develop any serious problems.

Still, on the plus side, we will develop a comprehensive knowledge of the location of every public convenience in our locality.

Just keep repeating the mantra:

'It's a magical, magical time!'

sleepychunky · 06/04/2009 10:56

Morning everybody! I don't have internet at home so missed all the weekend and evening messages. Great that we have grown (in numbers I mean - a bit early to be growing in waistlines I think).
Saw my parents yesterday and managed not to tell them - I want to wait for another week and thought that Easter day might be a nice time (they're coming round for dinner that night). So far, this is exactly the same as first pregnancy, ie. no symptoms and would not believe I was pregnant if the 2 tests I've done didn't have pink crosses on them!
Does that mean it's a boy again?

Pumpkin20 · 06/04/2009 12:26

Forgot to mention:

Acne
Bloating
Desire to take up yoga
Dizziness
Excessive salivation
Incontinence
Shortness of breath
Stress on ligaments
Stress on finances
Stress on relationship
Stress
Weird cravings
Wind

Last time I managed to avoid the nose bleeds, stretch marks and varicose veins but managed to get EVERYTHING ELSE. I had a girl. Is there something to this?

I feel fine at the moment, but symptoms didn't kick in until week 7 last time so I have boiled sweets and gaviscon on standby.

Moosy · 06/04/2009 13:33

Pumpkin, I had all of them apart from acne, bloating, incontinence, piles and swelling with my 2 and they're both girls so maybe there is something in your theory!

Hi guys,

Thought i would bite the bullet and join have had about 20 bfps so far and am 6 weeks tomorrow EDD is the 1st dec.
Have DD who is 7 and have been ttc for this one for 5 yrs and have had 3mc, last one in nov so am a complete reck at the moment hence the 20 tests.

I had no symptoms what so ever with DD but feel VERY tired already and have MS not all the time it comes and gos, today is not a good day feel like total crap bless me and was sick this morn. am not moaning though as the more symptoms the better i say it means that hormones are high and am more likely to keep this one.
Have an early scan booked at the epu for the 17th april which is a week and a half away, feels like a lifetime but hoping it will fly. also very very nervous about it i realy hope they see the heartbeat etc or i will be devastated.

Holding hands with all the nervous reck ones on this thread.

Ps feel like posting will ginx this but realy must stop being so bloody silly

fairywing · 06/04/2009 16:47

Hello, Can i tentatively join too?? I think i am due about the 12th. I'm very nervous about all this after a missed miscarriage at 11.5 weeks at the beginning of the year but i'm trying to stay positive. This will be my first baby. Only symptom so far has been me being starving all the time and quite tired in the evenings. My boobs are just starting to feel a little sore today too and my nipples have been doing an odd tingly thing on and off all day!! I am really excited about having a little christmasy baby as its my favourite time of year

Claire236 · 06/04/2009 19:22

I managed to lose the thread & it appears lots of new people are on here now. Is 5 weeks a bit early to be getting excited. I'm feeling really tired which is more because period type pains keep waking me up in the night than general pregnancy type tiredness. I had the same thing with ds but don't remember it being as bad. I've just read posts from a few people saying they've joined Nov as well which has made me think as ds was almost 4 weeks early which would make this a Nov baby if the same thing happened again. I think I'd rather be the first Dec mum than the last Nov one though so I'll stay put.

ray81 - not surprised you're feeling nervous. The 17th must feel like a long way away to you.

Moosy · 06/04/2009 19:38

Hello new ones, feel free to add yourselves to the list:

Flumpity - DC2 (have dd 22 months) - EDD 27 nov - 1 Dec
Pumpkin20 - DC2 - EDD 4th Dec
Charleymouse DC4 (have DD 4, DST2 2 DST1 Angel) - EDD 7 Dec
JumpingJellyfish - DC3 (have DS (nearly 4) & DD (21mo)) - EDD 7th Dec

Moosy - DC3 (already have 2 DDs) - EDD 9th Dec
damnitdamnit - DC2 (have DD 19 months) - EDD 9th December
Deanychip - DC? - EDD?

I don't think 5 weeks is too early, I'm bursting here! Despite having awful sickness both times before and hoping it won't be so bad this time, I'm now almost willing it to start to make it feel more real! Keep waking up at 5am and needing wee too

JumpingJellyfish · 06/04/2009 21:15

Hello everyone and congratulations to all you "newbies"

Missed out on quite a bit as don't have the internet at home and I'm only a part-timer. Love the symptoms list! I also wondered about joining the Nov 09 thread as never reached term with my 2 DCs (DS born at 30 wks, DD born at 36wks) but I am really hoping this time we'll be luckier...

charleymouse would love to hold your hand, think I'm going to need it! So sorry to hear about your loss- really hope this pregnancy is long, happy & healthy.
I'm already wobbly and wishing I could fastforward to the end of May, finding it very hard to keep the news quiet from even close family and know it will be torture in a way going through a CVS etc. without anyone knowing (other than DH & one friend), but it's what we knew we'd have to do before we started TTC...

Still not much in the way of symptoms here, but had a nasty tummy bug last Thurs-Sat- at the start I feared it was m.s. so in a way quite relieved it wasn't! I am currently trying to finish my PhD thesis, which I work on mainly in the eves, so I'm really hoping the tiredness doesn't get too much...please please please!

MumOfBaby · 07/04/2009 08:34

Hi all, I thought I was the first, so I began a 'Due December 2009' thread Due Dec 2009 thread woohoo

I just found out last night. I'm so glad there's a bunch of us to chat about it! We're not telling anyone until 12 weeks so I'm going to be bombarding mumsnet with excited messages lol.

I can't add to the list for some reason- please could someone add me? I'm:

hi all, glad to see there is a few more of us.

well i finally booked an appointment with Midwife, but can not get in to see her until 1st May.

I dont seem to have any symptoms as yet but keep trying to think when the tiredness kicked in last time. At least when i was pregnant with DD i could take myself off to bed when i got in from work (in fact i think i was only out of bed when i was at work) this time i dont think i will get away with that though.

Catz · 07/04/2009 15:36

Hi All,

I will 'delurk' and add myself to the list (hopefully below...). Congratulations to everyone.
Got my BFP about 10 days ago (and 8 days ago, and this morning!) but still doesn't feel real and don't like to get too excited about it at such an early stage. Some vague symptoms here, feeling quite tired and occasionally faint or nauseous, but nothing that is definitely pg related. Last time I had a really weird sense of smell - I could tell from upstairs if the dining room door had been left slightly open! - which was great as it was a proper 'only when pg' type of symptom.
Have seen the GP (who just fills in the forms for scans etc and refers you on to the mw here), have blood tests this week and mw appointment on the 30th April. The booking appointment with the mw is a whole hour, not quite sure what she's going to do with all that time given she can't see or feel anything yet!

My first GP appt was meant to be yesterday but got postponed to Thurs as doc was off sick so heaven know when i'll be booked in with the midwife...I am impatient for things to start happening!

Finally added myself to the list. We weren't planning on telling anyone until 12 weeks but between me & dh have already told 6 people. I think maybe we'll tell everyone after my booking in with mw on 29 Apr. Or maybe we'll cave & tell everyone tomorrow who knows. We told everyone straight away with ds so I don't really know why we're hesitating this time.

Moosy · 07/04/2009 18:18

We told my parents first then everyone else pretty much straight away at about 6 weeks with DDs 1 and 2, am determined to wait a lot longer this time - hoping to get to 12 weeks but have a feeling my lack of tummy muscles might make it a bit obvious before then!

I've told my sister and a couple of online friends only. Trying to decide whether to tell my mum and dad when I see them at the weekend...definitely not telling DD1 as I don't want her whole reception class (and their mums) to know just yet!

Claire236 · 07/04/2009 19:33

We've told ds because a while ago he told everyone at nursery I was having a baby so even if he does tell them we figure they'll assume it's his imagination again.
