Hi all,

Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations on your fab news!

Sorry i have not been on for a while i have been feeling very very ill
Went docs yesterday and he has given me some phenegen anti-sickness tablets but said he can not promise they will work

Hope everyone is ok and doing well

My stats are :

Me - 23
Dp - 26
Ds - 2.8

This baby is due on January the 19th, Really looking forward to it but feeling very very sick this time round, getting headaches, can't eat or even cook as food is just making me feel worse !
Never felt like this with ds i sailed through with him so this is all new and a total shock and i hope it goes away as i am sure i will not make it through the next 7 1/2 months!

I will pop back when i can, hopefully i will be feeling alot better.

Take care
xx

Morning y'all. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one that can't do top button of trousers up! Haven't thrown up this morning, so feeling quite smug about that! Am typing this with DD perched on my knee hounding me to go onto CBeebies website!

Just wanted to say how lovely it is to be in contact with other ladies going thru the same thing. Am really looking forward to getting to know everyone better.

Oh, and have been back in UK since Dec 01. New York not a happy place to raise a child after 9/11.

Will catch you all tonight after Little Legs in bed and I can type to my hearts content. Have a good day one and all.

Rachey1969 · 26/05/2005 11:52

Poor Angelcakeumm, you really are having a rough time, Phenergan might knock you out - depending on the dose, your GP knows you're pregnant of course. It's an antihistamine and what naughty mummies give their toddlers to sedate them! Don't despair, your sickness should ease after the first three months. Take care!

Hi

Can t beleive the amount of messages!

My details: another oldie!

Originally from Northern Ireland. Now in London with a Londoner.

Sorry this might annoy you but DS took so much out of me in BF at least 9 times a day and getting up every 3 hours that Im a stone lighter than before having him.

Had terrible MS with him and cant beleive I feel okish - just rough not dreadful. Very tired though. Was made redundant so not working - I find it easier cause can nap in afternoon while he watches telly for a bit - tho he catches me out and tickles me!!

Welcoem to all newbies and hope MS lessnes for you Rachey - you have my sympathy.

Milosmum welcome and a huge Congratulations to you

Rachey - I am actually feeling a bit better this afternoon i can't believe it!
What you said about those tablets knocking me out they have been i have not stopoped sleeping! I had about a 2hr patch yesterday when i perked up a bit so i decided to drive down to the park with ds! after half an hr of being there i started to feel ill, so i grabbed my ds and put him in the car and drove home, but on the way home i felt myself falling asleep at the wheel i was fighting to keep my eyes open! lucky my house was only round the corner!
then last night i read the box and it says do not operate machinery etc etc as these pills may make you feel drowsy !

The does is 10mg i think !

Rachey1969 · 26/05/2005 15:26

Congratulations Milosmum! Don't worry, we're all nervous and this is my fourth time! Unfortunately the worrying doesn't stop for at least the first 18 years. Glad you're feeling better Angelcake, I bet you needed the rest. To be honest, I have no idea about dosage - phenergan just has a reputation for sedating kids especially for travel sickness. I was advised to use Vallergan (a similar thing - a premed for operations I think) when I took my not quite 2 dd on a flight to NZ - in the interests of the other passengers! Some parents do abuse phenergan though which is quite wrong. serious voice Health and safety warning Please girls, don't go taking anything unless you have checked with a pharmacist or your GP! I've just had a hot bath and a tin of tuna, that's enough risk for one day!

Rachey1969 · 26/05/2005 15:28

Obviously, I didn't have the tuna in the hot bath - that would have been silly

milosmum · 26/05/2005 15:33

thanks for beinf so nice rachey1969- 4!!! my god im worried about dealing with a newborn and a 4yrd old- all praise to you hun ...

Rachey1969 · 26/05/2005 15:39

You can see now why I've lost my mind! Listen, I've got it easy - my kids are 11, 9 and 7 and pretty self-sufficient, I truly remember what it was like to have a 3 yr old and an 18 month old and to be pregnant as well. You lot with toddlers, take it easy!

lyra41 · 26/05/2005 17:42

Does anyone know what's new that we're not supposed to eat? Last pg it was unpasturised milk and products, blue cheese, pate, rare meat, deli salads - I think that was all.

Someone told me the other day we shouldn't eat hummous or live yoghurt, is that right?

lyra41 · 26/05/2005 17:49

Oh yes, finally got my dating scan date : Weds June 8th, which will be great as I still can't quite believe I have a new little person in there, despite the symptoms. Apparently the CVS can't be done until you are definitely past 10 weeks and 5 days, so the dating has to be really accurate. I also found out that our central hospital does amnio from 14 weeks with a 1 : 300 risk, so not sure whether I should wait for that. It's so tricky. All in all, I think it's best to find out asap, and their CVS risk is as low as 1 : 100, so that's pretty low isn't it? So much to think about....

I've got someone arriving for Speech Therapy at my house any minute, so I'd better go and get organised.

See ya gals.

Tabs · 26/05/2005 17:55

Hi Lyra - haven't heard of anything being wrong with hummous or yoghurt before (as long as yoghurt is pasturised - does that apply to live ones?). Also limit tuna to a couple of portions a week, and no shark, swordfish or farmed salmon (all have too high mercury levels), and no smoked fish/meat either. Can't think of anything else just now.

lyra41 · 26/05/2005 17:58

Thanks Tabs

Gorgeous and sunny here in Manchester, hope this is the start of the forcasted heatwave, and hope it extends to Wales next week for our hols.

milosmum · 26/05/2005 18:08

hi tabs- im here! can you beleive it

lyra- you from sunny manchester also????

Tabs · 26/05/2005 18:20

Hi MM - it's a great feeling isn't it . You'll have to pop in and visit us on the Feb thread from time to time just in case you're late! Am hoping lots of the others from the other thread will make it across this month too. Munz is doing a great job with the orders!

milosmum · 26/05/2005 19:40

tabs- i know what you mean- still a little shocked as i just never thought id get here. Whats your due date? how far are you now? im 4w+6- wow!

chezie · 26/05/2005 19:52

Milosmum
Dont worry about coping with a 4 yr old and a newborn. My ds was nearly 4 when ds2 arrived and he is a real handfull but I found I could explain things to him (like why is the baby staying up and I have to go to bed), Hewas quite helpfull most of the time too.

Tabs · 26/05/2005 20:01

MM - due 6th Feb - I'm still only 3+6!! Funny how you didn't manage to get your BFP until a few days after me, and yet you're due over a week before! Think I was very lucky to get a +ve so early. Still keep thinking AF will turn up tomorrow/Sat, when she was due!!!

sweetkitty · 26/05/2005 20:08

7 weeks today only 5 to go, DD and I are loaded with the cold it's her first one ever cannot bear to see her with a streaming nose and her cries are hoarse

DP arriving in the nest few hours haven't seen him for 2 weeks, be lovely tomorrow having somone else to look after DD whilst I finish the rest of the packing. Felt quite wierd today keep thinking I don't feel pregnant anymore but I was like this with DD (I tested every week just to make sure I wasn't imagining it) cannot wait for that 12 weeks scan.

Sorry you are going to hate me too but I'm a stone lighter than pre-DD weight. I have on a pair of trousers that I couldn't fit into for a few years now they are hanging off me (it's like having a new wardrobe) yes they are a size 10 as well still have baby belly though please let me gloat not for much longer, I hate the time between about 12 and 20 weeks when you just look fat and normal clothes are too tight and maternity ones are too large, all my maternity clothes are size 12 as well and the wrong season as DD was a July bub. Not that I'll be needing all the formal work stuff this time though.

(((((hugs))))) to all those feeling rough counting down to the magic week 12

sweetkitty · 26/05/2005 20:13

sorry ladies I forgot to add that I'm a food microbiologist (well I was in a previous before nappies life) anyway the only thing I avoided during pregnancy was soft mould ripened cheeses such as Brie and Camembert, yoghurt is absolutely fine as are cheeses that are pasteurised.

I'm a veggie (too many trips to abbatoirs and food factories in the past) so rare meat etc doesn't apply to me. The usual cook meat thoroughly should be adequate.

The Food Standards Agency have a good piece on the recommendations I will find and post a link.

milosmum · 26/05/2005 20:14

tabs - i thought id never get a BFP as i did get one very early with DS but im here now

Chezie- im actually glad DS is a little older - he can now be a help to me and i feel that helps with the jelously, right??

milosmum · 26/05/2005 20:16

even though my DS is only things have changed quite alot- like weaning, its was 3months with DS but now its 6months.... i try to keep up to date as i ve never really stopped buying the baby mags

Mak · 26/05/2005 20:26

Hi all,
Flumpette, how did you get on today with your scan? I hope all went well I had my first scan today also- was dated for Jan 3rd and am 8+2 weeks. Saw a good strong heartbeat - what a relief have also been told that I am going to have regular scans throughout (nearly every 4 weeks) good and not so good. Last time I felt they had too much info - I just wanted to be left alone (no chance of that again). I'm so glad it's 1/2 term next week - lies in's here I come
