Not much else to say really, I like soaps but only get to watch corrie these days but I record FOOTBALLERS WIVES every wk

GeorgieM · 25/05/2005 16:44

OK, seeing as we're swapping stats, here's mine!
Me: 34
DP: 33
DD: 3.5
I have to give a huge 'respect' to Hotmama, Eshay and Sweetkitty for ploughing back in there so quickly. Couldn't have done it myself, but DD birth rather traumatic and has taken a couple of years (plus a divorce!) to get over. Went into labour on 9/11 in New York and got sent away from hospital. Went into full blown labour next day and had to get a train from Harlem to Greenwich, CT (about 1 hr 15 min journey) whilst chewing on back of seat for pain relief. DD born five hours after we got to hospital. Least it won't be as dramatic this time!

GeorgieM · 25/05/2005 16:48

Oh and forgot to say that I got made redundant in Feb. Decided to stay home with DD and enjoy some time with her before she goes to school.

And for all those that are suffering from ms, Lucozade, sipped at regular intervals, really does work wonders!

chezie · 25/05/2005 18:27

I love lucozade, its great for hangovers too (not be having one of them for a while)

GeorgieM · 25/05/2005 19:02

I'm with you there! Can't stand smell of alcohol at the mo. Think body sending out hip hip horrays as liver never been so clean!!!
Chezie - Happy Birthday to DS2! You been hoovering up left over birthday cake?!

sweetkitty · 25/05/2005 19:39

OK since we're swapping

me:29
DP:30
DD: 10 months born 20th July 2004 (15 days early)

I too am still on maternity leave I have asked to go back to work as they had a reshuffle whilst I was gone and my job no longer exists so fingers crossed I will be made redundant. Am moving from London to Scotland this weekend, hopefully we might have a house of our own by the time DB arrives (long house buying story nightmare won't bore you) plan on being a SAHM for a few years.

hotmama · 25/05/2005 19:50

This is fun - I didn't use Mumsnet when I was pregnant with dd so this is my first antenatal club.

me: 38
dp: 40
dd: nearly 8 months - born 5th October.

Still in shock as my third pregnancy test was positive today - other 2 were negative - clearblue digital is officially crap.

Looking forward to progressing with you all.

loomer · 25/05/2005 20:20

Alright there ladies? I can't believe how much posting you lot have managed in just 24 hours - it's going to take some time keeping up with all of this! As I haven't broken the good news to anyone at work yet I can't surf MN until I get home of an evening. Anyhow, my stats:

Me: 33
DH: 39 - Canadian by-the-by
No kids yet! (unlike you lot, poppin' em out left-right-and-centre)
Due: my estimate 16th Jan

GeorgieM - what a horrendous time to meet your first child, you are a star to have coped with that experience. Are you still in NYC now?

Rachey1969 · 25/05/2005 20:41

Georgie - what an amazing story to tell your little one about her birth - the day that hope was born! I work from home (well, that's what I call it.. research! - seriously do a fair bit of teen sexual health so this website is work really!) I'm currently surfing ebay and bidding on all sorts of maternity jeans/trousers - mine are too uncomfortable already, especially to drive in. Also, my boobs are so huge, all my tops ride up to show my midriff so I can't leave the top button undone. Anyone else growing? I know it's the cheese and onion crisps....

lyra41 · 25/05/2005 21:27

Hi folks

Here come my stats:
me : old bag, age 40
dh: shocked toy boy, age 38
ds: James, aged 12
dd: Josie, aged 9
dog: Bella, scruffy black and tan mongrel
cat: Lyra, very unfriendly black and white
I'm a Speech and Language therapist and I work 3 days, Tues - Thurs at a school for autistic children.
We live in Manchester.
Still can't quite believe I'm pg. Will be v glad when the CVS is done in about 3 weeks and I can tell the kids (as long as all is well, of course).

spub · 25/05/2005 21:31

Hi gals,
I dunno, i go away for about 24 hours and th board is all go! Will try to catch up!
Thanks for all the welcomes and hi to everyone.
My stats:
me:34
DH:35
dd: was 2 in Jan (and we think the next baby is due the same week as our dd - 3 yrs between them all going to plan - DH has pointed out the possibility of us having an 18th and 21st birthday in the same week.....)

I live in Scotland and work PT in HE.
Feeling not too bad at 5 weeks today - boobs like zepellins and hugely tired but no nausea (YET!)

Stay well.

hotmama · 25/05/2005 21:32

Lyra - have you had a CVS before? I f not I am happy to share personal experience I had one last year when I was expecting dd.

Janh · 25/05/2005 21:34

spub, my DDs were born 3 years (and 4 days) apart and had a fab joint 18th/21st - it works out really well!

lyra41 · 25/05/2005 21:40

Hi Hotmama

No I haven't had one before, and I think you were kind enough to share with me on another thread "CVS does it hurt?" I'm pretty nervous about it, especially if the results are bad, or if it causes a mc.

lyra41 · 25/05/2005 21:43

does anyone know what bump means? It's not on the acronym list, but is sometimes part of a conversation.

spub · 25/05/2005 21:49

Cheers for that, JanH!

Are your dd's January babies? I fear we will be permanently skint every Jan from now on in!

spub · 25/05/2005 21:50

Lyra,
Bumping is what you do to keep a message at the top of the discussions list to encourage more postings or if you're waiting for a response from a particular mumsnetter.
HTH

Eshay · 26/05/2005 08:59

Goodmorning girls,

What a lovely chatty group we are. I had a great night's sleep last night - first in a while so that was wonderful. Only had to go to the loo once!
Rachey, yes I am growing too. It's slightly depressing as I had just started to lose some weight gained during pg1. I just managed to squeeze in some old trousers again but I've put thema ll away again as they will only get tighter from now on.
Loomer, it does seem like you're one of the few doing this for the first time but that will slowly change. Most new mums to be just don't know about Mumsnet yet. I didn't find it until ds was about 2 months old.
Have a good day everyone!

spub · 26/05/2005 09:14

Morning, Eshay!
Glad you slept well
I'm having real trouble dropping off though I'm knackered! My brain is whirling too much, maybe?

Have a good one all of you!

Chuffed · 26/05/2005 09:22

Well I'm officially feeling not 100% today. Sitting at work munching on Salt and Vinegar pringles and sipping lucozade.
Only remember feeling this grim with dd one morning while in Moscow so hoping it won't continue.
I'm so dying to shout to the world yes my clothes are tight not because I'm fat!!!!

Rachey1969 · 26/05/2005 09:41

Morning! Have just started the day by throwing up a cup of tea at dp's feet on the doorstep My first pair of ebay maternity trousers have arrived and to my shame they fit! (well, they're not falling down), nice to not feel a tight waistband. Is anyone else having trouble concentrating at work? I'm so glad it's a bank holiday weekend - some sun please!

Tabs · 26/05/2005 09:47

Morning ladies - just me popping in from the Feb thread again. It's interesting to hear how others a few weeks ahead are doing so that I can see what I might have to look forward to! Have a suspicion that I may escape the MS, as I didn't have any last year, but wonder if I'll be eating my words in a few weeks time!

Janh · 26/05/2005 09:59

Nope, spub, luckily mine are April so we just about have time to recover from Christmas financially; mind you DS2 is also April and so am I, we have 4 birthdays in 19 days in our house

When DD1 was 9 and DD2 was 6 I hired one of those number cake tins and used it for both, I was so proud of the economy! (Sad or what )

hotmama · 26/05/2005 10:07

Morning girls! Just been to the drs and yep def pregnant. He has given me a date of Feb 1st so I may be flitting between threads - but he says second babies are often early so could be a Jan birth - dd was 9 days late so early would be good!

I'm now feeling a bit sicky but hopefully I will not actually be sick - I wasn't last time but I know that means nothing.

I have only just lent all my stuff to my dear sis who is due in August - gonna have to let her know that I will need it back after Christmas - she will be sooo excited though.

I am only just back to pre-pregnancy weight as I joined Weight Watchers in Jan and have lost 2 stone to date - really intended to lose more before I got pregnant. Discussed this with dr and he said that the priority should be on eating healthily but if I do lose a little then that is O.K. So I am going to be very careful in the first trimester and hopefully won't start putting on weight until later on.

Hope you are all well.

chezie · 26/05/2005 10:25

morning all... been up since 6.30am but done nothing! Only just got my ass in gear. weather here not good so another day in front of kids TV. Cant stop musching biscuits which is bad coz I havent lost the "baby blubber" from last pregnancy. Oh well, going to go to tesco andget my bits and bobs. Hope kids dont play up there! see ya later
