Oops , sorry Rachey, just read your other comments over on the other thread.

Rachey1969 · 06/05/2005 20:50

Hi there Mak, yes I'm a summer of 69 baby! how many weeks are you? I thought I'd be laid back this time but I'd forgotten what I'd forgotten! Is the nuchal test standard on the NHS now? My biggest sister is a midwife but A) she works in NZ now and B) I don't want to tell her yet cos I don't want to tell my mum yet!

Mak · 06/05/2005 20:57

I'm 6 weeks from LMP, so technically 3. I'm already 36 - but at least I'll still be 36 when this one is born (trying to console myself )Nuchals are standard at my local hospital but it will probably vary depending where you live. I know what you mean about not telling people - I told my mum yesterday and she burst into tears (of happiness) but just found out my silly DH has told all of his colleagues, even though we said we wouldn't. What makes it worse is that they know some of my colleagues and I wasn't gouing to say anything until post scan - now what do I do? V tricky situation with boss MEN

Mak · 06/05/2005 21:02

maths not good, meant to say 5 weeks. I think I'm due about the 4/5.

Rachey1969 · 06/05/2005 21:03

I'll be 6 wks on Monday - due maybe 2nd Jan? Although I am ALWAYS 2 wks over. I feel so out of touch with technology! When I had my 11yr old I only got 9 wks pay and 6 wks SMP, this time I'll get 12 wks full and 12 wks half pay - whoo hoo! I'm not sure what my mum will say - she will be happy but I think she will be worried for me - unmarried bejesus! Dp wanted to tell his parents but I stopped him - imagine the fussing over their first grandchild. It's difficult telling people, I think I will wait - is 12 wks the first scan now? Last time it was 18 and 32 wks. I might have to tell work before that, there's always someone who wants you to carry a box! They aint gonna be impressed though...

Mak · 06/05/2005 21:32

You're right - how easy you forget, I'm pretty sure its 12 weeks, didn't your GP go through that with you today? I had scans all the way though my last pg, so I'm not sure what standard is. Also had a CS last time, so I will try as much as poss for a natural birth this time (easier said than done). I'm at the GP's on Monday, so I'll know more then. GP doesn't do a blood test, it's just straight to the booking appt with the MW. Maternity and paternity pay/leave has changed soooo much. We'll be so much better off this time.

pinksofa · 06/05/2005 21:45

me massive this time too, last time did not announce till was 4.5 months, likewise my sis midwife and have not told mother or sis either

last time mother was nagging me to tell sibblings from day dot and wanted to wait, and had loads of cheerful reactions 'how will you manage' 'you might miscarry' etc..., bless her, but think she suspects

am sooo tired

not sure if going for scans this time going to hope for the best

AngelCakeUmm · 06/05/2005 23:08

Hello i am pregnant and due on the 19th jan i am only 4 weeks! Congratulations to all who are pregs and i wish you all the luck in the world. I must go to bed but will pop back tomorrow

Oh how exciting i am finally here

pinksofa · 07/05/2005 20:42

congrats angelcakeuum
i am feeling better today but my hair seems to be falling out a bit... bit worried that both these mean might be loosing the baby as this happened when i stopped breast feeding ds so did another test and still pg but feel so different so hope all is well
how is everyone tonight?

AngelCakeUmm · 07/05/2005 20:53

Hi pinksofa hope your ok try not to worry to much, I actually starting losing my hair when i was pg with my ds. Have you had any pregnancy symptons since you found out? and are they still there?

I have been feeling sick this morning and had to have another afternoon nap ! Feel ok at the moment bit breathless though if i have to be honest is breathlessness normal? i never had this with my ds?

Hope everyone else is ok and looking after themselves i am trying very hard to look after myself and my dp has been fantastic and looking after me!

Mak · 07/05/2005 21:06

Hi all. I've been breathless today too, even had a bit of stitch, but then remebered to breath
and I feel different today Pinksofa, just been talking about doing another pg test with DH, and then trying to convince myself that I'm being paranoid. I think the hair loss is just hormones kicking in/taking over or whatever, so try not to worry too much. In my last pg I didn't know until I was 8 weeks, so all of this early days business is new to me - it's so worrying.

AngelCakeUmm · 07/05/2005 21:11

Hi Mak i know what you mean about all this early worrying even know i found out when i was 5 weeks with my ds i never ever worried don't know why maybe it was because he was my first and i did not know much about all complications and things ! but after my mc in nov i am worried sick but trying to stay very positive.....
Oh i sooo want this baby.
We are of to centre parcs a week monday and i am really hoping all is going to be ok as we are going with all my family

Mak · 07/05/2005 21:42

Sorry to hear about your mc in Nov. Like you say positive vibes and all that. The break in centre parcs will be good for you, have you told your family yet? I am now feeling completely knackered, even though I haven't done anything all day. DH is fantastic (besides my gripe the other day)he's been to work, done the shopping and cooked for us all - can't ask for much more really - oh except a healthy pg.

pinksofa · 08/05/2005 02:23

Hi me again hoping for the best and unable to sleep - surely this must be a sign of a healthy pregnancy
Angelcake sorry about your mc, positive vibes from me and the bean too hope you have a good break at centre parcs

Rachey1969 · 09/05/2005 10:55

Hi all, I don't come on the net much over the weekend as I'm tied to it in the week.

Mak - I haven't seen GP yet, had to put hosp test in first which doesn't come back til midweek.

Pinksofa - I know exactly what you mean about hte announcement - I can just remember last time - and this time I have less money and am divorced with younger partner! Argh...people so rude - why are you doing it? was it an accident? how will you cope? etc etc (and that's just my mother...!) Why no scan pinksofa, isn'that the best part?

Angelcake - many congratulations and I hope you have a fabulous holiday.

How are you all feeling this week? I'm tired, sore boobs, peeing a lot - no real sickness yet - plenty of tears and paranoia!

Rachey1969 · 09/05/2005 10:56

oh and I can't sleep either... insomnia and restlessness combined with bad dreams!

sweetkitty · 09/05/2005 11:58

Well can't believe I'm joining this thread, LMP 7th April so due 12th January 2006! Bub conceived Sat 23rd April. Thought I had already ovulated this month and we were ok.

Did 3 cheap ebay tests 2 had faint lines but the clearblue confirmed it, very spooky new straight away did with DD as well.

DD is 9 months am still BFing her as well. We weren't trying but not preventing DD took 9 months to concieve. DD was 2 and a half weeks early so could be a dec baby.

We are having loads of house buying hassles right about to move back to Scotland into rented accomodation so I don't know where this baby will be born. But I don't care it's a new life and if he/she brings us half as much joy as DD we'll be ok. Cannot believe I have to go through all the pregnancy stuff again so soon.

TeriS · 09/05/2005 12:09

congrats sweetkitty.

Just catching up on the latest posts - I'm so glad it's not just me worrying and being paranoid (although not glad you guys are worrying too!).

My last pg went along fine (although little bleeding at 10 weeks), but have been nervous wreck for last two weeks - I've had some really bad stomach pains, although doctor say's it's probably just IBS... aagghhh - suppose will have to wait for 12 week scan to see if all OK.

sweetkitty · 09/05/2005 12:16

hi teri last time I had 2 bad bleeds one at 9 weeks and 1 at 10. Went to EPU at 9 weeks got scanned and everything was ok even saw DDs face, same at 10 weeks.

Last pregnancy went well apart from moderate SPD which I won't be looking forward to again. In total denial about labour as well!

Rachey1969 · 09/05/2005 12:30

Hi Teri, Sweetkitty, congrats to you both. Don't you wish you were 12 wks! I'm feeling a bit sad this morning, cos best friend is pregnant virtually the same as me (her first, my fourth) but she is having massive doubts and is really upset, only spoken to her by text but I so want her to hang in there, her dp being an arse particularly. I can't bear the thought of being pregnant when she should have been... imagine the day it's born, I'm tearful enough already!

Rachey1969 · 09/05/2005 12:31

I've had a bleed at 9 weeks before as well - the early internal scan they give u is very reassuring. Try and stay calm and positive, I know it's hard!

Spacecadet · 09/05/2005 12:53

gatecrashing to say congrats to sweetkitty,i bet you are shocked!!, the age gap will be lovely and i hope you get a buyer for your house soon(couldnt beleive it when i read that thread and saw it was you!!!!)

Mumfun · 09/05/2005 13:04

Hi

Oh just announced it on my old duffers thread - am due on 16 Jan. Great to come across here.

Not brilliant for you but feel better myself that soemone else has terrible insomnia - woke up at 4 yesterday and 5 today - wasnt like this last time. Hope it gets better for you Rachey.

Just got to pop off as DS awake - is 17 months so will be nice gap I think.

Hang in there all little beans.

Back later

Mumfun

TeriS · 09/05/2005 13:59

Thanks guys, made me feel much better - will try to keep positive.

Rachey, sounds like your friend is having a cr*ppy time - is her DP not happy about having a baby?

sweetkitty - I'm in denial about labour too! Have vague memories of insisting I would never have another child after last labour, but it's amazing how quickly the memories fade - Although loads of people have told me 2nd time round is better, so I just keep chanting that to myself!

Am also in denial about sleepless nights, colic, teeting, etc, etc... will keep happy picture in my head of Calvin Klein advert - couple running down sandy beach with happy smiling baby

AngelCakeUmm · 09/05/2005 15:55
