Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lilsmum · 11/05/2005 23:23

hi all, still no sign of period and getting symptoms of pg, havent done another test i think i am going to wait till i am a week late (sun) before i do another, i am so sure i am, and if i do another and it doesnt show up it will just do my head in, so gonna try and wait, but obviously as no sign of AF well that good news, and i have had a faint positive on mon, so i not too worried now, think i just panicked a little when the cb digital said not pregnant,

TeriS · 12/05/2005 12:35

Hi pinksofa, I did predictor, and 2 spots definitely means pregnant! (3 spots means you've done it wrong). I've not used a digital one before, so not sure how accurate they are...

Just had my date through for first scan today (23rd June) - seems like a long way away though...

Serentity, you threw me for a bit then (name change!) - thanks, really pleased . MIL is doing well, first chemo this week, but she is staying positive, which is the most important thing.

pinksofa · 12/05/2005 15:06

thank you TeriS,

been back to doctor who confirmed dr on tues gave me useless ab's so hope these will clear the bv and not hurt the babe

apart from that all is well with the world here

TeriS · 13/05/2005 10:16

Really glad pinksofa, and sure babe will be fine...

How are the rest of your feeling? I've had really bad sickness (had hardly any with last pregnancy). It's getting quite difficult with work, as I was hoping to wait till 12 week scan to tell them (prefer to know things are going well before everyone knows). Any one else facing the dilema of when to tell work? What are you intending to do?

Chuffed · 13/05/2005 11:02

I'm hoping to last as long as possible before telling. Fingers crossed that I don't have nausea, didn't really have any last time - spent wk 8-10 travelling through Russia.

Eshay · 13/05/2005 11:14

Hi all. I had a look at this thread yesterday, hoping I would be able to join in and now I can! I did the test last night when DP was home and it went to two lines instantly. I am going out to buy another brand just to be sure though.

I already have one ds, now just over 10 months. I already know Sweetkitty from the thread that was started when our babies were born. My EDD is 19 Jan, but knowing my luck nothing will happen and I will have to be induced in Feb. Then again, you never know, this one might be much more willing

I have been feeling fine, really. I'm not sick altough my mouth does taste a bit funny. I've been getting rather tired in the afternoons and I've also had a bloody nose twice. Much the same as when I was pg with DS1. So far I have had no abdominal cramps. TeriS, I used to have major cramps each morning for a few weeks. I think it was just my uturus being in a state of shock about what was happening. It went away all by itself. Having a warm bath helped to ease the pain for me. Hope your stomach is feeling better by now.

Rachey1969 · 13/05/2005 11:17

Good news pinksofa! and hold on in there lilsmum! I'm feeling crappy but no real sickness yet - I think I get it at about 8 weeks - I'm getting shaky though when I haven't eaten and still have yucky taste and craving fruity drinks. I had to do 5+ hrs travelling by train for a meeting yesterday and it really took it out of me. I really don't want to tell anyone (especially not work) till I'm about 12 wks (although I might not get a scan till 18 wks) I have some long distance training to deliver in June/July so I will have to see how well I hold up. I might use the bad back excuse to avoid any lifting. Dp dying to tell his family and I might let him as they won't interact with anyone else. I particularly don't want my other kids to know until I'm well on my way (or my ex-husband!) and I think it's unfair to tell other friends/neighbours etc who might let it slip to their own kids and it get back to mine which would be awful.

Eshay · 13/05/2005 11:20

I am still on Mat leave from DS1, starting back at the end of the month. I may tell people then. Last time I didn't keep it a secret as I used to ride a bike every day and suddenly quit doing that. Wouldn't take long for people to start asking questions. I actually liked that people knew right away as it just made things a bit easier when I was feeling tired etc. I also liked the thought that if things did go wrong, people would understand why I would suddenly act all different. This was a very personal choice though and I completely understand why most people prefer waiting for 3 months or so.

Rachey1969 · 13/05/2005 11:20

Hi Eshay, congratulations to you! I'm due 1/2 Jan but 3 times now I been overdue by 2 weeks - one induced (9 times), one cervical sweep (ouch) and one labour started but still induced/accelerated and it sucks!! I know though by the time I get to 42 weeks I will be desperate for it to come out.

Eshay · 13/05/2005 11:24

Rachey, I know. It's horrible, having to wait two whole extra weeks and then having a sweep and being induced. At least there was no mad rush to get to the hospital so that was nice, especially since we didn't have a car and were wondering whether a taxi would take us

Rachey1969 · 13/05/2005 11:26

I think it's the whole 'tempting fate thing' after my 3 healthy babies - it's also amazing how people's attitudes change when you get to 3/4 - they can be quite unintentionally hurtful ie 'what on earth do you want another one for' or 'how will you cope' or 'was it an accident?' etc. I know dp family will be excited and thrilled (their first grandchild - my mum has 8!) and very supportive so we might tell them this weekend. Work is weird, my boss is fairly anti-baby and our team of 6 has had 3 in the last 6 months! But it was all their first (and two were men). I want people to be positive and happy for me - not treat me as if it is some kind of disaster.

TeriS · 13/05/2005 13:53

Congratulations eshay!

I know exactly what you mean Rachey, I've been shocked by the number of people who've asked if it was an accident!! I'd love loads of kids

At least this time me and DH are married - with last one we weren't and I was shocked by the attitude from health professionals...

I am worried about telling work - don't think they will take it well .

Chuffed · 13/05/2005 15:12

congrats eshay!
Well I've now filled out all the dr's forms and he too said no false positives so they didn't do another test.

AngelCakeUmm · 13/05/2005 19:25

Well congratulations Eshay and welcome so nice to see more people joining, your EDD is the same as mine (19th Jan), I also have one ds but he is now 2.8. I could have written your post about how your feeling eshay as i have exactly the same syptoms as you even the nose bleed i have had 1 little one. I also have to sleep in the afternoon as very tired, and the taste in the mouth. Apart from that and i am feeling very very sick in the mornings (worst this morning) but i don't actually feel like i am gonna be sick, just sick feeling, felt the same with ds.

Lilsmum how are you have you done anymore tests?

Pinksofa hows your bv getting on are you any better yet?

Glad to see everyone is still here and all ok

Take Care
xxx

Ellen5 · 13/05/2005 21:34

Can I sneak on here to join you? Have just tested - very very faint but definite positeve. Used end of the day pee on day 27 of a 30 day cycle (what was I thinking?). So will do it again tomorow or sunday but it is positive.
Anyway you lot are the first to know, haven't even told dh yet! I've been lurking on this thread for a while and am a regular mnetter on another name for the moment.

I'm in shock. It will be baby number 4. Am I mad or what !!! EDD January 24th I think.

Eshay · 14/05/2005 07:46

Congratulations Ellen5 and welcome to our thread. Have you told dh yet?

pinksofa · 14/05/2005 07:50

congratulations Eshay and Ellen welcome to the January thread

getting better but got thrush last night because of all the antibiotics and had to call dr out as was in unbearable pain i have never been so sore as i have this week, but today for the first time in over a week not in excruciating pain, so hope i can now get back to being plain old pregnant

feeling tired but happy, so looking forward to meeeing my baby, told my mum and she was positive and supportive and managed to not say, 'but how will you manage' as her first response this time which meant a lot
I am not telling work till 2 July if i can get away with it, away for last two weeks in June which will help

Mak · 14/05/2005 15:22

Hi all
congrats to all the newbies. Haven't posted this week - I've been going to bed at 7 pm - how sad. I AM SOOOO TIRED. I'm beginning to wonder whether I've got a virus or something, burning, aching legs. Or just plain whingy? I saw the dr on Monday, he suggested I have consultant led care (rather than midwife). Got a letter today, so I think I'll be having my 1st scan in just less than 2 wks (I'll be 8 +2 then). I'm hoping to tell work at 12 wks +, I have 1 trusted colleague/friend who knows, which has helped this week with certain issues that have cropped up. I think its good that someone knows.

love2laugh · 16/05/2005 12:56

Hi everyone! Congratulations and SNAP!! Am due Jan 3rd (fingers crossed), have a 16 month old DD and am still BF her!!
Got to get her off me as nipples are killing me !
got midwife appt on Thurs - guess in London they like you to book in early because of the crazy numbers of people who live here!
Seems a lot of you have little ones to look after as well (even younger then mine!) Aren't you knackered? I get so tired in early pg and she is so not tired!!!!

Mumfun · 16/05/2005 13:13

Hi

Great to see lots more joining - hi to LOveto Laugh. You have my sympathy - glad my 17 month DS decided to give up BF at 13 months himself.

Im not to bad yet on tiredness. Have had though terrible discomfort/pains - do you have stretching pains second time around? Starting to put away trousers now as they get too tight in the evening. Have to put away underwired bras soon - but putting off as I dont want to get into those so gorgeous maternity ones yet.

Sorry some of you having such nasty medical stuff. Hope you all get better soon.

Bye for now

MF

Chuffed · 16/05/2005 14:01

yeah not really too tired yet, have a cold so no increase in smell etc and boobs are fine. I have had a bit of 'I need to eat now' sessions but not severe.
Have now told my two best friends here in London but it is just soooo hard not to shout to the world but I know I don't want to at the same time if you know what I mean.

sweetkitty · 16/05/2005 19:44

wow congratulations Eshay another one with a 10 month old and pregnant again, will be good having a "friend" on here as well.

congrats to Ellen too, I would love to have 4!!!

I have no symptoms whatsoever (sorry girls) same as last time. Went to see DP first time since I found out I was pregnant and he made me do another test as he didn't believe me then he sat adn read the instructions too bless him. We have told everyone I'm not superstitious, most people were delighted once they got over the shock that is but if I hear "you'll have your hands full" one more time I will scream.

Eshay I'm due 12th January but I'm hoping like last time I annoy everyone on the thread by being early DD arrived 15 days early, New Years Day bub I'm going for.

pinksofa · 16/05/2005 20:52

hello all just clocking in to say hello and goodnight

Rachey1969 · 17/05/2005 13:50

Hi all, just popping in to say hello and how is everyone? I feel awful! Sick, tired and pathetic. I have had a migraine so avoiding the pc (and my work!) - could only take paracetamol which is totally ineffectual. Congratulations Ellen!

Eshay · 17/05/2005 19:47

Poor Rachey and all those others struggling with morning sickness. I hope you feel better soon. I am very lucky because I never had it last time and so far I'm not troubled by it either. I do get dizzy very easily and must eat something quickly or I'm afraid I might topple over. Mainly I'm just tired.

Sweetkitty, I would love to have baby arrive a bit early, was hoping for it last time too but instead he chose to stay put until the surgeon plucked him out. I so hope things will be different this time around.

Dh is in hospital at the moment so I am left to take care of Thomas all by myself. Normally DH helps out a lot in the evening and now it's suddenly very clear how much he actually does. Normally I would be fine but being pregnant gives this sort of scenario a different twist. I'm sooo tired and have no patience with Thomas sometimes. Luckily DH won't be away too long. Sweetkitty, how do you do it? I'm so impressed.
