Thanks so much for the congratulations! i can imagine most people will say (just as they did last time) 'but how will you cope?' I know it's cos they're shocked/surprised but it deflates you a bit doesn't it? Congratulations to you Mumfun! My friend's dp is the strong silent type, he's had a hard life and I don't think he feels he deserves it and is showing it strangely. Her mum (her only family) is in France and again, is shocked/surprised and I think has said the wrong thing ie 'how will you cope?' Arghhh! Of course we will all cope! I had three under four at one point! A tiny baby with big bros/sis will be a luxury! I've just been to town and seen loads of tinies - I feel so broody and emotional! Take care all.

lilsmum · 09/05/2005 19:21

hi can i join please?

got a faint BFP today, af was due yesterday, due date is 16th jan, still in shock, i am dying to go out and buy more pg tests, but gonna wait a couple of days then do another and hopefully should be a very strong line!!

used a cheapie test called reveal..what did you guys use? gonna buy a clearblue i think, never let me down when pg with dd who is now 15mth.

AngelCakeUmm · 09/05/2005 19:30

Welcome lilsmum and congratulations i am soo pleased for you.
I used a clearblue normal one on the wed and it was a neg then on the friday i used a clear blue digital one and it was a pos (pregnant) they say!
I also done another clear blue digital one yesterday and it said "pregnant" again so i now know for sure.
I done it by weeing in a pot this time as the normal clear blue one i just done a wee on the stick.

You can buy the digital ones of ebay i got 3 for 9 pound so bargain price.

lilsmum · 09/05/2005 19:33

oh poo, i cant get a ebay account as dp cocked up my account trying to sell mp3's....idiot!!! guess i have to buy full whack price one, will prob wait till weds.....its defo a BFP but just want a darker line boo hoo, lol. feel pg too, sore boobs, loads of cm (sorry!)still feeling a little shocked at mo tbh

AngelCakeUmm · 09/05/2005 19:36

I was shocked too lilsmum and to be honest i still feel that way, thats why i had to do another test yesterday just to make sure i am not dreaming.

If you want i could have a look on ebay and see if i can find one for you then buy it and you pay me, its up to you but the offer is there hun

pinksofa · 09/05/2005 19:38

hello congratulations to all the newbies

I am ok but think i have BV so going to put up a thread for some advice

will pop in soon my life is a bit hectic at the mo
lol

lilsmum · 09/05/2005 19:47

ACU, thanks for the offer but it would prob take a few days at least wouldnt it? i dont think i can be that patient tbh, coz i would have to send ya the money, then you order off ebay then them send to you then you to me, prob be more like a week, unfortunately. are you taking folic acid? i spoke to my gp on the phone today told him i had a faint postive and he said leave it a week then do another i dont wanna wait that long for folic acid though, you cant get a false positive can you? plus the fact my period hasnt come, and i am NEVER late!

sweetkitty · 09/05/2005 19:47

I feel a fraud now don't feel pregnant am still BFing DD don't know how that will affect my boobs.

I bought 2 cheap tests off ebay for 99p beware first one was neg, second one faint, third one faint so went and bought a clearblue digital this morning (yes I know could have bought adequate old fashioned one but a sucker for anything new) read instructions did the first one wrong (also known as waste of 7.25!!) anyway you have to wait 30 mins for screen to clear (longest 30 mins of life) then it came up positive (not that it's a surprise)!

Am gutted in a way as have lost a stone on pre preg weight from last time and was looking forward to wearing all my old size 10 clothes this summer. Was due in August last year so all my maternity clothes are a size 12 and summery but at least I won't need work maternity clothes this time and I can hide in winter jumpers although I was a flaunter last time.

sweetkitty · 09/05/2005 19:48

feel too wasn't taking folic acid must get some sanatogen preg multi vits tomorrow

lilsmum · 09/05/2005 22:33

ok girls HELP!!!!

i have just done a clear blue digital and it said not pregnant!! what the hell is going on the test this morn had a defo pink line, if i could show you i would, period was due yesterday...still no sign and i am never late!

HELP

pinksofa · 10/05/2005 08:40

lilsmum hope the next test is positive
i have heard of this happening to people who are in fact pg so all is not lost

i am off to dr today to get this bv sorted, bit of a worry as increases risk of mc and other nasties

Rachey1969 · 10/05/2005 10:08

Hi all, I did a £1 babystart test from Poundland a week ago when I was a week late (positive - quite faint) it says it's very sensitive and you can get them for about £2 on the net (search for babystart), clearblue the next day am (bit darker) and then a digital last Thursday (pregnant). I think any line is a positive - but I really don't know how sensitive the digital ones are, false negatives are common early but false positives rare I've been told. Try again Lilsmum, you're still quite early, fingers crossed for you. Pinksofa - bv (vaginal bleeding?)I had that with my first and it's awful isn't it? fingers crossed for you too, perhaps he might send you for a scan to put your mind at rest?

pinksofa · 10/05/2005 11:17

thanks Rachey it is bacterial vaginosis not bleeding like thrush but sometimes is indicated in mc, seen doctor who was pretty rubbish

Rachey1969 · 10/05/2005 11:25

Oh i see, poor you, why are GPs so useless when they know you are worried? Can you have a word with a midwife? Do you need antibiotics? - they would give me thrush! I hope you get some useful advice, fingers crossed for you.

Mumfun · 10/05/2005 20:26

Hi

Youre all making me want to test again to be certain. However still feel groggy, tired , not sleeping well with pain/discomfort now and again so think bean hanging in there. Cant beleive how crap pg tests are - one I did was completely inconclusive - could not tell. That why I went for a digital clearblue as at least you get a word (or 2 words)

Hope all symptoms settle down.

Im shocked already that tummy is thickening or am I imagining it - jeans seem very tight today.

When are others going to go to GP/midwife - I thought Id wait a few weeks maybe till 8 weeks.

What do you think?

MF

Chuffed · 11/05/2005 09:39

Got a BFP on CB digital this morning and think conception was 24/4 so that would make a Jan 15 baby.
Congrats to all, we were the same as you sweetkitty, not preventing for about 4 mths then actively trying and finally 7mths later here i am. dd1 now 13mths.
I've got dr's appt on Friday to start filling out paperwork so I can get booked into dating scan etc.
Got a terrible cold at the mo so off to bed have the day off work. Fingers crossed for no morning sickness as didn't have any last time.
Loads of sticky dust going out to all!

TeriS · 11/05/2005 10:14

I went to see GP last week, and now have midwife appointment for 3 weeks time - apparently they don't see you in my area until your at least 9 weeks!

Seems a bit silly, as for first time mums you need all the list of what not to eat, etc.

Feeling really sick this morning - have not been too bad until now, so hoping it will pass. Sorry to hear your not well chuffed - make sure you get lots of rest...

AngelCakeUmm · 11/05/2005 10:23

Hi all well i am ok still feeling very nervous but also feeling very pg so that has to be a good sign.

Lilsmum - i am shocked how is everything? have you done anymore tests? When you done the digital tests did you wee in a pot and hold it in or wee on the stick? Anways i wish you well and if you have had a positive test then you are pregnant so don't worry hun

Pinksofa - I hope your ok after your bv....sorry i don't know much about it but if you wanna chat let me know

Chuffed - congratulations glad to see more people here

Mumfun - I also want to go and do more pg tests but it will start costing me a small fortune ....they are so expensive and not always right thats what annoys me. I hope your feeling ok? I will not be seeing the MW till about 9 weeks as this is when they first like to see you here

Sweetkitty - hope your well and think you can defo say your pregnant with all the pos tests you have had ust admit i have done 2 tests already and am sure i will be do more

Rachey - Hows you? hope you ok and feeling very pregnant

AngelCakeUmm · 11/05/2005 10:24

Chuffed also hope you get better soon, go and have some rest, I have also just got over a bad cold and cough had it for about 2 weeks and its finally going

Rachey1969 · 11/05/2005 11:29

Hi everyone - how are you all? I'll echo everything Angelcake has said rather than repeat it all. Congratulations Chuffed!

My GP pregnancy test has come back positive this morning and I have an appointment with a GP at 5 - I thought normally you just book in to see a midwife? Looks like things have changed! I am only 6 weeks but I would rather get things started. I feel more nervous than I have ever done before, I don't think morning sickness has kicked in yet but feeling foul, tired, yucky taste, sore boobs etc. Poor dp getting the worst of it at the moment - can't do a thing right!

hi all still rather uncomfy did a test as worried re babe and through box away before results came up duurgh (only a pg woman could do this) and now not sure what it means

predictor test which has 3 windows, two of the windows have a pink spot is that a positive or do i need 3 spots ?

not feeling as nackered as was and bv has made me worry that have lost it

hi to all and hope all is going well for you thanks for messages of support

Chuffed · 11/05/2005 14:37

no idea sorry pinksofa do they have a website, they might have instructions on it.
I'm worried about it being a false positive and remember this feeling from last time expected them to say 'what are you doing here' when I went for the scan at 10wks but will just keep plugging away I suppose and hope for the best as it's all you can do.

Rachey1969 · 11/05/2005 19:14

Sorry pinksofa - Ihaven't used predictor. Chuffed - don't worry you don't get false positives! I know what you mean about the 'what are you doing here' syndrome though. Went to see GP today who gave me lots of useful advice (Not!) like after 3 babies - I don't know what I should and shouldn't eat... I have to make an appointment with the midwife at 10 wks (blimey - a month away!) and the scan won't be until 18 wks unless I need a dating scan (so maybe I will have to need one of those then! I have had two blood losses since the mirena coil and a history of 42 wk pregnancies so I think I need one - can't wait till 18 wks, I need proof apart from a 38E bust!)

sweetkitty · 11/05/2005 20:04

hi ladies I know exactly what you mean about the "I'm a fraud" last time I must have done about 6 tests. I had bleeding at 9 and 10 weeks so had my first scan at 9 weeks (you could see her face it was amazing- think I wrote that further down) anyone until then you just don't believe you are pregnant. I think my boobs started swelling at about 8-9 weeks, I'm still BFing so they have never went down.

Made a docs appt at 8 weeks then had my booking in appt at 12 weeks and nuchal fold and dating scan at 13.

Can't even book the dcos appt yet as we are moving to Scotland in 2 weeks (from London) into rented accomodation as our house hasn't sold and DP is now working up there. It's all a big mess right now and I could do without the stress.

Sorry forgot to add congratulations to all the newbies look forward to getting to know you all soon.
