Lulu - is there special laundry bleach, or are we talking just a squirt of Domestos in the powder drawer??

(Laundry ingenue)

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 13:02

Puzzle will be along shortly, I'm sure

PuzzleRocks · 17/03/2009 13:07

Who me?

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 13:08

Yes, you

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 13:09

Ju - there are laundry bleaches but you can also use a household bleach (I would go for plain old thin bleach diluted in water) to presoak before putting in the machine. Would avoid all the domestos type thick bleaches as they have colours and fragrances added and not sure what that would do to your whites.

I wouldn't do use household bleach on newborn baby clothes though. For baby stains (posset marks etc) I use Milton sterilising spray and plenty of sunshine. That usually does the trick. But if not you may need to get something stronger.

I'm in the middle of a massive laundry-fest at the moment actually. Washing all the rugs in my mothers house to try and get rid of assorted marks made by diabolical combination of cat and toddler. Need to go to a supermarket to stock up on laundry supplies.

Has anyone tried that new Vanish foam spray that is supposed to deep clean carpets? I would really like to get my mother's carpets back to the shade of cream rather than dull grey. Not sure what products would help achieve that (other than hiring one of those industrial carpet cleaning jobbies from Homebase)

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 13:27

WILLIES!

PuzzleRocks · 17/03/2009 13:28

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 14:18

PuzzleRocks · 17/03/2009 14:26

Stop bumming me out by nicking the thread.

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 14:30

I have to go out in a minute anyway

But I couldn't let it go without a fight, at least! I saw the thread-finishing count! You're my arch-nemesis

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 15:24

You see it's not just you lot that can complete the thread.

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 16:03

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 16:08

Oh Springy you beast!

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 16:10

Oh dear. It continues. & I imagine that Puzzle hasn't actually finished yet, either. This is becoming a full-time job!

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 16:20

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 22:10
