Sorry to hear about people's bad nights. DD kept us awake but that is far preferable to the pain and discomfort that some of you are having to cope with. Tough as old boots you lot!

Surprise - Brettgirl is absolutely right. Don't take any nonsense from them.

Boff - Agreed, that is a lot of money, but it seems the non-monetary costs to you at the moment are far greater.
Poor DS, when is the fair?

bronze · 14/03/2009 09:37

4 weeks max! so soon. I would be going to pieces. I realised last night that I really havent actually clicked that I'm having this baby. The last ones I did this time its an odd feeling.
Presumably by the 2 week rule the most anyone has to wait is about 9 weeks.
I will only go one week over max [smug smilie needed]

BabyBolat · 14/03/2009 09:39

How come only one week? i am hoping I wont go over at all which means 2 weeks to go....

bronze · 14/03/2009 09:39

Sorry you had a crap night Puzzle. Shes training you

PuzzleRocks · 14/03/2009 09:47

Yes BB and I would have been in the lead this morning if it wasn't for your dastardly theft of what should have been mine. With Springy in Brum I had it in the bag.

Boff - I think that's a wonderful idea. How difficult would it be?

PuzzleRocks · 14/03/2009 09:50

Bronze - It would seem so, she was doing so well recently but the last few nights have been terrible. I'm hoping it's a growth spurt or something temporary. Lots of fresh air, running around and a pasta supper today I think. Unless anyone can recommend a good baby brandy?

I think if we had a few volunteers to take a couple of threads each and edit up the entries it would be OK.

Then if they were dropped into a Word template it would be easy to finalise everything before turning it into a PDF and emailing it out to those who wanted it.

I think we would need an editorial policy of some kind to make sure it was basically positive on the whole, with nothing in there that would embarrass anyone horribly in years to come ... on the other hand we have not used out real names so this makes it a bit more flexible. If someone has really opened their heart on a thread they should probably be the person to edit that one, so they get it how they like it. (I am thinking of my own mindnoise posts, for example).

We could decide whether to have complete threads in one go, or possibly an alternative might be chapters or themes, eg "Ailments and cures" "Our favourite music tracks" "Birthdays" "How did our DHs do?" and so on.

What does everyone think?

BabyBolat · 14/03/2009 10:21

Boff I think that is a great idea - I think that it would be nice to do it chronologically to see how our general themes and moods changed over the months and then maybe pick out a couple of funny bits at the end!

Anyway, I have to go and finish getting ready - have great days all, I am off to spend the day with my mum and two sisters so will either be great or a nightmare!!!

Speak soon xxxx

PuzzleRocks · 14/03/2009 10:27

I vote chronologically too. Each thread could have it's own quote of the thread, lesson learned etc at the end perhaps. I'll happily volunteer.

PuzzleRocks · 14/03/2009 10:28

BB - Have a good day. DH has just taken DD shopping so i'm going to wallow in the bath for an hour or two. Bliss.

BoffinMum · 14/03/2009 10:31

OK then ladies, pick a thread you'd like to edit up and I will co-ordinate.

KittyCatIsGettingFat · 14/03/2009 11:19

Can I do the one with the surprise Babymoon in it? Think it was number nine! Yay what a great idea!!!

surprisenumber3 · 14/03/2009 11:33

Morning all.

Re: the damaged cot. Have had an email back from them saying we need to call them on Monday but they will sort it out for us
Will let you know!

Boff, things are much better after the bicarb! still a bit sore but I can sit down without an ice pack now!! I will stock up on something for the acidic approach today and try that later if needbe.

Off to Brum now, will look out for springy. Going to get some RLT capsules and something nicer than olive oil for perineal massage as well as visiting Krispy Kreme donuts in Selfridges...mmmmmm

Have a good day, look forward to catching up later xx

Juwesm · 14/03/2009 12:08

Can you believe the health food shop was sold out of RLT? I blame the NCT!

BoffinMum · 14/03/2009 12:23

Ooh, Surprise, I am so pleased the bicarb helped. I was trying to think about the science of this, because it seems a bit counter-intuitive in the light of the (prior) existence of Acigel, and DH suggested that going either more acidic or more alkaline would create a hostile environment for the fungal infection and supress it. That's our theory, anyway. If it has worked I would stick with the Bicarb in the bath, say 3x a day, from a chemical point of view. It's less creepy and messy than mixing your own Acigel substitute IMO!

mrsfossil · 14/03/2009 13:12

hi all message from barb- she sends her love and best wishes, and says her girls are doing well and haven't needed oxygen or antibiotics etc, they have also had their feeding tubes removed. Otis still has his tube in but hasn't needed oxygen since last weekend and has put on the most weight.

can't believe we've started a new thread i'm surprised we get anything else done

well hope everyone is doing ok i'm off to catch up on sleep

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 14/03/2009 14:05

BB - well done > ((hugs for the pain)))

Puzzle - lol

Just realised i have never finished a thread!!! have started quite a few so i suppose it balances out

Clairey - Yay for the snuggles

Boffin - that would be cool, shouldnt be too much work, would be quite fun to re-read the threads too just allocate me a thread i'm not fussy lol

MY CAT CAME HOME !! woohoo yay, blardy dirty stop out she is lol she had a bacardi breezer bottletop on her collar?!?

Mrs Fossil - thanks for the update, so lovely to know they are all doing so well

Suprise - yay for the bicarb

hi everyone - back from holiday - great fun at Disneyland Paris - Struan had a fantastic time playing with his cousins and going on lots of rides. was much more impressed with the food etc than i thought we'd be.

anyway - exciting to see the ones who've popped so far - great news about barbarelly's trio.

thanks for the summary nutty - dont think i will ever have time to read the threads i've missed, so is great to have a wee summary.

my update - lots of BH - dh has turned it into a verb - eg 'that you hixting again' but am pretty resigned to the fact that its probably another 6 weeks till anything dramatic happens.

anyway will try and stay vaguely up to date now.

brettgirl2 · 14/03/2009 15:00

My DH has just gone to get his hair cut but he has forgotten to take his wallet heehee. He doesn't 'do' mobiles either, so I can't let him know. It serves him right if you ask me - I'd bought some Boursin and when I went to eat some for my lunch he'd eaten it .

Surprise, good to hear about the bicarb and the cot being sorted.

I have six weeks max....... Oh my god I'm having a BABY

BoffinMum · 14/03/2009 15:48

DCs have had haircuts today and look civilised ready for pictures of them with their new brother. Must book myself in for a prune.

DS1 white as a sheet and looking like he could throw up at any moment again. He did pop to his friend's house for an hour earlier during a slightly better period, and was given a redundant hamster cage - he is determined to get himself a hamster and has saved up £7 towards the £9 cost already (a miracle of saving for him). Only problem is that then DS2 will want a guinea pig. And these things will at some point die dramatically. This always happens in our house.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 14/03/2009 16:39

Hello all,

DP came home incoherent and fell asleep on the couch - I left him there until 3am when I woke up anyway, so I went and told him to come to bed. By the time he got there DS had taken advantage of the gap and climbed in, so it was another packed night in the FreshHell bed! And somehow, despite being the largest person in it, I got the least room.......oh well.

BabyBolat you got the date right, 27th March, less than two weeks away gulp....also sympathise with your hip/back pain, I have that a lot at the moment.

Today has been mostly about sleep and bodily fluids - I went back to bed after my bath and slept till 2.30, then found that DS and DP had been experimenting (unsuccessfully) with big boy pants and there was quite a lot of wee to clear up and a chair to rinse....then DS went into the bath as he smelled of wee, and pooed in the bath.....Have just finished cleaning up and packed him and DP off to a 3 year old's birthday party so have some peace and quiet.

DP looks a bit worn out, but given how much he's been away lately and I've had to do all the childcare, I think it's only his just deserts.....

Good news from Barbarella!

OddEyes sorry to hear it was a false alarm although as you say probably best to let that baby cook a bit more

xxx

conkertree · 14/03/2009 17:05

hmm all this talk of haircuts - really should get ds's hair cut but dont think he would sit still for long if someone was yielding a pair of scissors. have just hacked at it a bit myself so far, but the time may be coming to have it done properly.

felt a little nesting instinct today - decided to clean my kitchen really properly instead of the usual quick sweep round. but once i got to polishing the bread maker i decided that even boffinmum would probably let me off at that - is nice to have everything shiny though.

conkertree · 14/03/2009 17:07

sounds like fun with the potty training whatfreshhell - i'm not going to attempt for quite some time unless ds really shows signs of being keen - think he will have enough to think about when a new baby arrives - but then maybe he will like being a big boy too. he certainly tells us before he poos now - just no signs of knowing when he will pee as far as i can tell.
