new thread here

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 12:44

I forgot to ask DH to take a photo of mine yesterday - will do one later.

Auld, your DS looks so sweet! & actually looks French, somehow. I can't wait to have my own little DS

Nutty, mine reclines, has fantastic armrests, is very comfortable in many positions & comes complete with gadgets for such pregnancy-friendly functions such as adapted perineal massager, pelvic floor exerciser, & topical prostaglandin applicator.

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:46

Have taken photo of bump, but as arse appears to stick out an equal amount at the back, picture will not be posted! Even though carefully posed to feature daffodils!

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 12:46

Haha, Auld - there's nothing wrong with bringing a bit of variety to the bedroom

Nutty, have emailed you xx

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 12:47

Oh go on Ju, I bet you look fab.

Thanks for the new thread, Puzzle.

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:47

Springy - where did you get this piece of furniture? Do they have anything similar in Ikea?

kazkiss · 17/03/2009 12:48

{waves back equally as excitedly to Ju}

Ok niave question coming (what is a wideon?)

When in the delivery room I noticed a birthing ball, but I think if one of the midwifes sugested I used it I probably would have slapped them!)

I actually have NOOOOO balance whatsoever so ball probably would have been quite dangerous... Ju can tell you stories about me on a bouncy castle which would give you an indication of how dangerous!

AuldAlliance · 17/03/2009 12:48

That's funny, Springy, everyone here says he looks British (well, they say "English", but I soon put them right as to the very limited amount of Sassenach blood he has in his veins.)

When he was a toddler, little girls here all swore he was a girl, in spite of our protests, because blonde hair and blue eyes are so rare on boys in these Mediterranean parts. The only blonde hair they generally see is on girls/dolls...

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 12:48

Lulu how did you discover my glidey chair secret??? Now you all know what is going on while I am typing on MN. Oh the shame.

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 12:49

Boffin - a good hairdresser should be able to blend the colour in so you don't get that stripe. Try getting some lowlights blended in with the highlights. You won't be as strikingly blonde but the overall effect may be better.

And on getting stuff white - I am a huge fan of sunshine, but if all else fails pass the bleach (don't overuse bleach though or it actually yellows stuff - and then you need to remedy with the blue stuff but end up with whites which are never properly white again)

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 12:50

Now you tell me Lulu, as it's all in the machine!!

I might see if they do replacement liners a la BB, but the pram's a bit old so maybe not ...

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:50

I have no idea what a wideon is??? A widgeon is a kind of bird???

Oh a wide-on!

Doh

here

kazkiss · 17/03/2009 12:52

is this what we are thinking?
look here

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:52

Boff - I find it hard to type whilst 'having a gentle bounce on my ball'. You must have incredible powers of concentration to continue typing in the "glidey chair"!!

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 12:53

Oh also - ask them to do lots of very fine highlights rather than fewer chunkier ones. The last place I had my hair done gave me chunky highlights and the root re-growth is hideous but where I usually go he achieves a much better result (although it takes him much longer obviously - and he charges £££ accordingly)

Sorry - realise this is Nutty's area of expertise. Just have had lots of good and even more bad experiences of highlights.

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 12:53

I am a Boff
You should see what goes on in some libraries

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:53

Hmmm, Kaz, I'm a little concerned about that. Inflatable plastic things often have those really sharp plastic seams where the edges are joined together. Ouch.

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 12:53

Ju, they have similar things in Ikea every so often, but they're usually being used to haul heavy items around & are difficult to ensnare without at least a big plate of Swedish meatballs to lure them away & an opportune moment in which their impressive carrying ability is insufficient to counterbalance their complete lack of patience / common sense / taste & tensions begin to rise.

Auld, the poor boy must've been so confused Bless. He definitely looks French to me, though. & very male.

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:54

Must dust-off library card.....

BoffinMum · 17/03/2009 12:54

Cheers Lulu I will ask for lots of fine highlights with a few lowlights thrown in. I think that might be part of the problem.

LuLuBai · 17/03/2009 12:55

No Boff - occasional bleach use is fine and brilliant for getting rid of obstinate stains. Just don't put it in every wash or you will end up with yellowed whites over time.

I grew up in Spain. I LOVE bleach - I actually get twitchy if my supplies start to run low.

Juwesm · 17/03/2009 12:55

A large Swede and a plate of meatballs eh? Sounds like lunchtime!

kazkiss · 17/03/2009 12:55

i am assuming that springy is not reffering to the pink chair! lol never seen one of them in ikea... although may make the whole try before you buy shopping experience a bit more interesting

SpringySunshine · 17/03/2009 12:55

kaz, I like that chair - it looks very easy to just wipe-clean. Very practical.

SmuttyNuttyTaff · 17/03/2009 12:56

do you mean stripe sort of ear to ear or from forhead to nape?

with half head i'm guessing its going to be ear to ear (dependant on foiling technique) but yes the only way to avoid it really is getting a full head or osking for your hairdresser to do foils f/head to nape in a t-section style whilst doing the half head. i would always say to clients if you wear your hair up alot then go for a full head or half head with a few random packets at the back to avoid the half head stripe. Also you can have the hair weaved/ sliced dependant on which you have can determine stripeyness. i would go for weaved highlights if you want something more natural

there are hair magazines such as the aptly named Hair, Hair Now, Styles etc for boys/mens styles but they are usually at the back and only cover about 5 pages at most so look to the back of the magazine prior to purchase so you can look over them with your boys. though just google hairstyles for boys and there are loads
