im 19 and due to have my first baby on the 24th march but im being induced on the 12th. i always get judged by people as i dont look my age. wheneva i go out people stare and make comments it realy makes me paranoid.i dont get why people judge without knowing our situation i mean im still living at home and plan on stayin here for a good few years. im going back to college and work after iv had baby as i hate being on benifits.i just dont get why we are judged we make good mums aswell just coz we are young it dont mean we not gna be as good as a older mum.

YMTB perhaps you would find other sites with young/teen parent sections a bit better than MN? I know that there are others like that around

moondog · 05/03/2009 22:14

I love the responses to this drivel.

I'm 12, pregnant with quads, living in a polytunnel thick as shit, with no money or future. Please tell me I will make a fantastic mother, the best ever.

You will indeed rival only Mother thersea in therms of compassion and selflessness, your 3 weeks spent half heartedly attending your local FE will indeed equip you for life as a dazzling barrister at the very heart of our legal system, and your 'partner' will indeed come good and build you a 12 bedroomed house on the money earned from flipping burgers for 12 days in MaccyDs.

youngmumtobe · 05/03/2009 22:15

Ewe isnt there other teens on here i think so. and this is ment to be a syt for all mums and corect me if im wrong is it not ment to be surpportive network not a bashing one.

sorry if that comes accross defensive.xo

Obsession?

I think I've only mentioned him once - hardly an obsession.

Well, your ambition to be a theraputic activity worker for the disabled sounds laudable. I'm not quite getting the performing arts link, but I'm sure there's a need for an activity worker to be skilled in all areas of dance and drama.

LadyOfWaffle · 05/03/2009 22:17

Sorry but can't any of you think "what if?". I know of people who are in their 20's (even 30's and 40's) and are (sorry YMTB) very poor spellers. They are still human.

I came to MN after I had DS, I was 19/20 and I don't think us youngsters should be ushered away to another site - sorry.

YMTB - please stay.

paolosgirl · 05/03/2009 22:18

Oh sorry - forgot the xo

catinthehat1 · 05/03/2009 22:19

Shall we have a vote?

youngmumtobe · 05/03/2009 22:20

drama is linked to being a theraputic activity woker as you have to make the client/service user express there feeling and emotions in dance, drama and other stuff.

LadyOfWaffle · 05/03/2009 22:21

Well, I sometimes put x after posts - judge me.

I do wonder what o is though? Is that hugs and kisses?

Ewe · 05/03/2009 22:22

I joined Mumsnet when I was 20 - although barely mentioned my age - and I just don't necessarily it is the best site for YMTB as a lot of the users here will disapprove of her lifestyle choices, as she has seen on this thread.

Not saying she must leave or anything I just think that she would be better supported by other online communities, there aren't many young parents on MN to support her.

youngmumtobe · 05/03/2009 22:22

LadyOfWaffle im not going nowhere its not my problem so called adults have a problem with young mums and in perticular me due to my spelling and being on benifit.xoxo thanks for your surpport.xoxo

Harribomum, paologirl and the rest of you are acting so nasty. you are all acting like the biggest prejudging snobs I have ever come across.

You are bullying a pregnant woman what nasty vindicitive bitches/bastards you are.

moondog · 05/03/2009 22:25

Aye

youngmumtobe · 05/03/2009 22:26

paolosgirl i just couldnt be boverd with goin in to details. but it to do with what iv said before plus hands on so painting and physical and mental stimulation to express feelings and emotions.

paolosgirl · 05/03/2009 22:27

Except, of course, that Mother Theresa didn't get pregnant at 19, split up with the farther, get back with the x, live at home with her parents, sign on or take a course in the performing arts!

What a dull live that woman lived - sheesh.
