im 19 and due to have my first baby on the 24th march but im being induced on the 12th. i always get judged by people as i dont look my age. wheneva i go out people stare and make comments it realy makes me paranoid.i dont get why people judge without knowing our situation i mean im still living at home and plan on stayin here for a good few years. im going back to college and work after iv had baby as i hate being on benifits.i just dont get why we are judged we make good mums aswell just coz we are young it dont mean we not gna be as good as a older mum.

Haribo - I'm still with kikid on this one (look up). The piss is being taken out of a lot of good ladies here.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 05/03/2009 21:17

youngmumtobe, good luck with that. Both of mine were induced, because they both went well over 42+ weeks, but I hope medical matters have advanced since then because it took several attempts with them both!

But you're young and healthy, you'll cope with whatever.

youngmumtobe · 05/03/2009 21:18

mad4mybaby thank you. i dont see how tha is anythin to do with they topic.x

paolosgirl · 05/03/2009 21:19

Because it's difficult to read! I gave up at the first 'wheneva'. If she wants to be treated like an adult she should stop the childish text speak.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 05/03/2009 21:19

In what way would the OP benefit from trolling? I don't get these constant shouts.

Haribosmummy · 05/03/2009 21:19

Cos it's just madness... mouthing off on what a great parent / role model and how no one should POSSIBLY look at her otherwise, but actually, can't spell the word FATHER. Or SUPPORT. Two words you would normally think were important with impending motherhood.

Nothing to do with age, just really wondering about that.

mad4mybaby · 05/03/2009 21:19

'back in the day' it wasnt even questioned about having children young! My mum got married at 17 and had my sister at 18 and so on and there was none of the abuse back then that there is on here about 'young' mums. Yes there are those that have babies for all the wrong reasons, live off benefits, no ambition etc etc but that is a harsh generalisation

Haribosmummy · 05/03/2009 21:20

Really - cos it reminds me of something that would be on Jeremy Kyle.

paolosgirl · 05/03/2009 21:21

And the right reasons for having a baby so young, whilst living on benefits with a partner who isn't the baby's father would be....?

mad4mybaby · 05/03/2009 21:21

you cant slate the OP for her abbreviations when you use 'cos'

bronze · 05/03/2009 21:21

OldLAdy. I think people have been burnt too much in the past by similar threads. I'm not saying the OP is a troll but people are understandably supicious.

Haribosmummy · 05/03/2009 21:22

I did watch that once - and someone was asked to spell 'FATHER' and they spelt it 'FARTHER' and then laughed along with the audience...

youngmumtobe · 05/03/2009 21:22

mrsjammi yh i did watch it but dont anymore. for your info my new partner is my x i was with him for ova a year and he is very surpportive and wants to help bring up bubs. not being funny but how can you compare me to a t.v programme.yes it does happen in real life too!!

Haribosmummy · 05/03/2009 21:23

Mad4mybaby.

I can do what I want. I can spell father, support, days, independence, offended and LOTS of other words.

paolosgirl · 05/03/2009 21:23

Wow, over a year!! So, is he supporting you financially from a permanent job?

mad4mybaby · 05/03/2009 21:24

also just want to add that having a baby by 'accident' has nothing to do with the age. There are MANY women who fall pregnant in their 30's and 40's

Haribosmummy · 05/03/2009 21:25

Oh, I give up.

If you really think A WHOLE YEAR is going to see you through the life of a baby, you really DO need to grow up a little more.

Good luck - I have a feeling you will need it.

OP posts:
mad4mybaby · 05/03/2009 21:26

haribo, whos to say the OP cant spell properly???

if you can do what you want then why on earth cant the op?? 'text' speak which is what she is using, has nothing to do with wether you can or can not spell. I use alot of abbreviations on text as it is alot quicker and i dont have a problem with spelling.

OldLadyKnowsNothing · 05/03/2009 21:26

bronze, at one point I wondered if the OP was my own DS's GF (but the dates are wrong, and they're still together - in my livingroom, actually!)

OP's not asking for anything, though, just discussing her situation. Even if she is a hairy-handed trucker, s/he's not doing any harm, surely? No-one has to reply if they think she's trolling.

I dunno don't know, I haven't been burnt, but I have been accused of trolling!

bronze · 05/03/2009 21:28

Before everyone goes off on a spelling tangent can I suggest that the OP tries downloading firefox. It has an automatic spellcheck which is great even for people who can generally spell (like me) but are absolutely hopeless at typing as fast as they think.

Haribosmummy · 05/03/2009 21:28

She's DYSLEXIC, Mad4mybaby - it's not text speak at all.
