Good morning everyone,
I thought I'd get on here before the ap high jacks the computer again.
So much chatting has happened over the last few days, don't know if I can keep up!
re packing: for a c/s I'd say pack the same as a normal hospital bag, but just a little more of everything, because you'll be in longer. BIG knickers are definitely a must. Cheap tesco/asda ones are better than the disposable kind, there's more stretch in them! Also a nightie/night shirt rather than PJ's for that 1st day, because you'll be stuck in bed and it will be very difficult to get trousers on, especially with a catheter in situ!
re: maternity pads: 100 seems a bit OTT. I only ever had 2 packs with my other 2 and that was enough! Definitely use the thick ones. I see it enough: the thin ones lead to accidents, no matter how absorbant they claim to be! Also they're much better if your waters go. I went through a whole pack of them in a day when mine went.
Momino I'm a bit on the large side too and my mw asked me to come back a week earlier than usual. She's not too concerned though, I had to easy labours with big babies. I must have a big pelvis Seems like mine had an almighty growth spurt since this weekend though. The limbs/hands/feet feel so much bigger and solid now when I get kicked. And I got kicked hard enough tonight for me to wake up from it.
looby If you're concerned about baby's movements definitely do the iced drink thing/eat an ice cream, that usually sets them going. Giving your belly a good prod works too and if you're at home a bath tends to work, if none of it works, obviously get in touch with your hospital.
I got this health professional equipment catalogue through this week and I'm really tempted to get my DH this I hope it comes with batteries so something kicks him in the bladder every so often!
