Febes you might just have changed my mind about the perineal massage... i suppose i really should find the time to do it again. Any chance to avoid a bad tear is good eh?!

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa & jennster don't wear yourselves out with the prob mountainous vomit washing piles and hope the dc's are on the mend. Grumpy I hope your BP calms down and dn't worry about being bored if you have to start ML now... we'll be here to make sure that doesn't happen. Some HR lady you have...sounds like a real pita.

sausage sounds like you got a really great deal on the bugaboo... you're going to love it. I have never regretted getting ours and it will now be used for #2 so really getting our monies worth... although I do plan on buying a new bright pink tailored fleece set or breezy canopy... haven't mentioned this to dh yet

Both yesterday and today i'm feeling quite breathless all of a sudden... and absolutely uncomfortably stretched to the limit. I've been lathering basting myself with my mama mio tummy rub cream in the hope that it either alleviates some of the discomfort or LO moves into a slightly better position. My bump is absolutely rock hard to the touch... LO's bum & back i think... & it feels like it's running the full vertical length of my bump.

FiKelly,

I am due about 11 days after you and I have been feeling like that as well. Everything is an effort and I can't imagine another 11 weeks of expansion! I think because of stress with various things, and a cold appearing, I am run down at the moment which cannot be helping lack of energy levels.

Over the last couple of weeks my best friend's wedding plans for April and relationship has completely disintegrated and I have been trying to help her through it , an old school friend's brother died unexpectedly and I went to the funeral yesterday -very sad, and my grandmother has had a severe stroke. She is in hospital and has been asleep most of the time for the last two weeks.

Time will tell how / if she will recover, but it was a bit of a shock, as although in her eighties, she has always been very sharp, cheery and sprightly. She is the only grandparent I have left and she has been around for me longer than both parents who died 11 and 16 years ago.

Bit of a tough time at the moment - seems to be a lot of heartache around.

ladyhelen2 · 28/02/2009 19:56

grumpy and belgian thanks for replying re BF. I didn't think your post was patronising grumpy! Part of me knows all this stuff but I just get the worry out of my head! With DS he didn't poo in nearly 8 days so there was that as well as the weight loss going on. Like you say Belgian I need to relax I think.

On to lighter things, is anyone watching the Comic Relief dancing thing on BBC1.
Isn;t Claudia's dress gorgeous? and if that Dirty Dancing routine doesn't win, I'll eat my hat! Hilarious.

FiKelly · 28/02/2009 19:59

rosielady what a tough time you're having this pregnancy lark is hard enough on it's own without the added stress you're going through lately.... sending big hugs to you.

I do remember having this full up to the brim feeling with ds but i thought i had a while to go yet

FiKelly thanks for your hugs. hopefully things will start to get better all round soon.

Momino · 28/02/2009 20:38

good eve, everyone.
Sorry for the tough times some are having and hope things get better.

was atNCT nearly new sale and wasn't in the mood so came back with only a skirt for DD2. i need a new babygym, could have used a baby swing, new child gate... few other things but just. couldn't. be. bothered. there were piles of clothes and things and didn't feel like rummaging through.

i volunteered as well so was a bit tired after set up. most everyone was surprised to find out i was 'only' 31 weeks as it looks like i'm ready to give birth with this big bump. get tired of hearing it and feeling it.

also only sold a few things of what i brought so shall be ebaying the rejects as soon as i start mat leave.

think i'll go watch tv soon as i wait for the takeaway to arrive. what's on?

FiKelly · 28/02/2009 20:44

have just seen the dirty dancing routine on lets dance for comic relief. LOL now got to chanel surf and find something to watch. DH is in the bedroom watching the rugby he recorded earlier... DS gets v bored so he figured this was a better idea... and he managed to avoid the score all afternoon!

FiKelly · 28/02/2009 20:49

Stigmata is coming on at 9pm on virgin1... also v good but i think i'll opt for the light relief of matt damon

We're going to watch a Sky Box Office film if DH ever gets back from the supermarket. We've been to IKEA, and the wierdest thing happened to me as we were coming down the escalator. I swear baby was doing somersaults or something, but moving down at the same time. I felt really dizzy, it was so odd. No pain apart from my stupidly bad back, but we discovered that the heated seat gadegty thing in the car is wonderful for easing in my back. We came home from IKEA the long way round!

grunpy if you're not going back, why not go off sick? With a med cert they really can't argue. As a HR hag, I feel I can raise your opinion of HR people by telling you this, as you clearly have a duff one where you work! but don't let anyone from my place hear me say it!

Belgianchocolates · 28/02/2009 21:24

rosielady Hope things start bettering soon for your.

saugagen Sounds like you had a couple of great deals at the baby show. The next one in B'ham isn't until 16th May, so I'll miss that. It's a shame, because I'd love to go, but there's no way that I'll go there with a newborn!

fi I feel just like you, very stretched and uncomfortable. I have a lump under my ribs, which makes me even more uncomfortable. I don't think there's 10 weeks expansion room in there.

I think I'll be giving telly a miss now. I'm absolutely shattered today and ready to nodd off.

flippineck · 28/02/2009 21:33

The dirty dancing routine was great, wasn't it?! Don't normally watch things like that, but neither DH or I could be bothered to change the channel.

Can I join the bad back grumbles? My hips and pelvis have been uncomfortable (but not terrible) for what feels like months, but now most of my back hurts too. Seeing the chiropractor on Wednesday so hopefully that'll help, but DD has decided that she can't possibly walk up and down the stairs any more and that I have to carry her. Even pushing the pushchair hurts, and bizarrely my elbows hurt too when I push!

sausage - thanks for getting back to me re the skirt, yes not quite what I'm looking for, sorry.

Fi and Rosie - I feel like my insides are way too big for my outsides today too, it's really quite uncomfortable. Hopefully things will stretch a bit more soon - WITHOUT stretchmarks!

I'm really constipated at the moment (sorry, tmi really) - anyone know if it's ok to take lactulose?

FiKelly · 28/02/2009 21:48

flippineck I'm sure the doctor prescribed lactulose to me when i was pregnant with ds... 99% sure?!

OP posts:
MatthewAndBumpsMummy · 28/02/2009 21:53

flippineck my gp prescribed lactulose for me during this pregnancy when i was having trouble with constipation. she said it was definatly safe during pregnancy no matter how much you take either its one of the safest things there are.

flippineck · 28/02/2009 21:56

Thanks ladies, I might try some tomorrow if no joy. Thought it was probably safe but wanted to be sure.

FiKelly · 28/02/2009 22:06

I've been searching out and watching videos of good v bad latching while bfeeding and different feeding positions to remind myself of the basics... but seeing all these tiny newborn babies is making me go all warm & gooey inside....

OP posts:
FiKelly · 28/02/2009 22:10

just re read that and meant to say good versus bad... good v bad didn't really make sense?!

OP posts:
Jennster · 28/02/2009 23:17

Lactulose and fybogel both ok in pregnancy. Lactulose doesn't half make you fart though.

Jennster · 01/03/2009 09:21

Urgh. Went out last night to dh's colleagues' birthday party. We had to go but flippin 'eck. We had to pay for somebody to look after the kids and go to something we didn't want to. Luckily we didn't stay long, but I've got undigestion. I woke in the night with a vague nausea and acidy feeling, but the gaviscon was in the kitchen and I was too tired. I went straight back to sleep, but I feel like I've eaten a 5 course meal. Ginger tea and peppermint tea hasn't helped yet. I'm also very tired, and have to drive to my mum and dad's today.

Belgianchocolates · 01/03/2009 10:05

Morning everyone,

I'm still equally shattered today. I feel like lately I just shouldn't bother going to bed, because I don't sleep properly anyway. The tiredness just makes all the aches and pains worse and turns me into a v grumpy BC.

fi I knew exactly what you meant with the good v bad. That's how they write it isn't it?

I fart enough as it is, so I think I'll be steering away from lactulose

I think I might have a look at some wardrobes today for my ds in this furniture shop down the road. I desperately need his chest of drawers, the baby stuff is starting to take over my bedroom.

Polony · 01/03/2009 10:35

I had a fruit craving on friday, ate a whole bag of clementines (satsumas/mandarines/whatever they're called) a couple of apples about three bananas, some dried apricots, some fruit juice...farted liked the BFG for 24 hrs and it sure cleaned things out. IYKWIM. It wasn't the intention but I'm not complaining about it either. Flippineck if you're not totally sick to death of people suggesting dietary remedies for constipation, I find that eating dried apricots everyday and drinking loads of water with it helps me. But it has to be everyday to work I think.

Incidentally with cravings I have finally figured that thats what it is - I don't feel like I've been craving something until I realise I've eaten the whole bag of oranges and still want more.

Maybe its a May baby thing with the big bumps - I've also finally accepted that people assume I'm a lot more pregnant than I am. I was feeling that vertical feeling as well, but I suspect that mine is moving position quite a bit because it seems to change all the time. Yesterday it was diagonal again.

Belgianchocolates · 01/03/2009 10:51

Well, polony, we'll find out in a few months time whether these big bumps have actually led to big babies too!

Your craving for fruit is a bit better than mine for cider or coke. I've been trying to ignore it for the last few days, because alcohol isn't the best thing to have in pregnancy and I can's sleep properly at the best of times, so coke would only make things worse!!

llareggub · 01/03/2009 11:07

Morning all!

Bags of oranges, cider? Surely a fruit thing! belgian would apple juice do the job?

I can't sleep either, and feel very wide awake in the evening so go to bed too late. I'm up early to use the loo and also because DS is an earlybird. I think I should start trying to stock up on sleep!

It's March today. My c-section is on 27th April. That's next month. Eeeeeeeek!
