Here's hoping more of those babies take the hint this time round!!

Ooh - how exciting, would love to pop today! I'll give them a call but sure I'm worrying about nowt.

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 08:39

TBMF2-I take it it didn't interfere with Bfing then??? That was my only concern...GP gave me prescritpion for oral and pesseries...she said the pesseries were brilliant

littleboyblue · 11/02/2009 08:58

Morning all. These afterpains are really bad! I've just spent the past 40mins on the floor screaming/crying/groaning and not being able to move. Dp finally gets up just as they are starting to pass and tells me to get up and go to bed, so I told him very loudly to fuck off, no use getting up half hour after I start screaming, wanker.
He's now sitting here after putting some books back in ds's room thinking he's really helped me. Sometimes I don't like him very much.

Re: baby holding, just to pop back to what I was saying yesterday, there is no way I'm holding this one whilst he's asleep or drifting as did that with the last one and it took me nearly a year to get him to settle on his own, so I have a toddler that needs attention from me and a newborn that needs all the hugs and kisses and bonding time with me. Babay mostly awake from 9pm and is in and out until about 3am, so not the most ideal time for bonding sessions. Not sure how I'm gonna go about trying to get him to stay awake a bit more through day while making sure both him and ds1 get enough time with me and other little bits get done. (given up on the idea of my flat being clean for quite a while....)

Any news on MrsY? I hope she's had lo now and it all went nice and quick, she been through enough with pregnancy.
Anyone else?
gtdahb? spotty? PT? KT still not much happening?

littleboyblue · 11/02/2009 08:59

Maybe I should see if gp will give me anything stronger than paracetamol for pain....

Calico1 · 11/02/2009 09:03

Thought there would be more baby news this morning - how disappointing....

Spotty - where did you get your bargain beige Phil & Teds from? I've got one now but friend is just about to buy and wants a bargain.....

chilled and lardy - I sympathize with the lack of sleep. My DS was wide awake between 1am and 3.30am - no idea what he wanted, just asked to go downstairs all the time

Diclofenac great stuff but watch it - it can bung you up!

swampster · 11/02/2009 09:14

Good Morning - where are those babies?

About to pop my first Diclofenac of the day. Bung you up? I am pooing like a horse!

spottyshoes · 11/02/2009 09:34

Ebay, Calico. The lady had bought one and had one given to her by PIL's so sold the new one in box as she prefered the colour of hers. It was £220 + £20 p&p and hadn't been taken out of the box!

Ebay has become my 1st port of call for everything

Right - thicko question for you all. If a med prof can reach through your cervix and touch your babies head, does that mean your mucus plug has gone?

DizzyBrummie · 11/02/2009 09:39

Hi ladies,

Bit of advice needed now that I've seen you talking about P+T double kit. I've got a 21 month old DS and with another little one imminent I don't know what to do about pushchairs. I've already got a bebecar from DS1 which lies flat and the car seat will attach to it and a lovely McLaren that we currently use. Would I really benefit from a P+T sport with the double kit or am I just getting carried away with new things? Also, I'm not sure I like the in-line thing...

Ds1 will be at nursery 3 days a week..

All opinions gratefully recieved

Thanks.

spottyshoes · 11/02/2009 09:39

OMFG! Talk about pregnancy brain. I'm sitting here at the computer table with a cuppa and trying to reach my feet to take of old nailvarnish and cut my toenails, as you do. Just took a swig of nail polish remover instead of tea

Thank god I realised and spat it everywhere

going slowly mad!

nkweto · 11/02/2009 09:45

Morning all,

Checking in for baby news.. no news from PT et al yet ?

hi Swampy.. how is DS3 treating you ?

Feeling almost rested today.. alexandra woke up at 10, 1.30 and 5.30 for a feed..and let me sleep the rest of the night.. woo hoo i feel alive..

lbb.. see if the GP can give you something for the afterpains, you have had them for a while now ...ouch

Calico, kiddiecare has a deal on the pink and blue P&T's at the moment.. the whole kit plus double kit, raincover etc for either £240 or £285. We bought our apple just BEFORE that particular deal..but hey ho it is fantastic so i am happy...

ok.. it is nappy changes all round here.. will check in for news later...

Calico1 · 11/02/2009 09:52

spotty - what an Ebay bargain. P&Ts do have a good resale value anyway (one of my arguments to DH for getting one).

DizzieBrummy - can't tell you yet about how useful the inline buggy will be. My DS is 22 months so I am in a similar situation to you but until lo arrives and I give it a go with two, then I can't say how good it really is.....

nkweto - thanks for tip-off on P&T bargains, I'll pass that on.

spottyshoes · 11/02/2009 09:52

Dizzy I um'ed and ah'ed for a while as we got a lovely silver cross linear for DS which is pram-pushchair plus car seat fits on chassis and I was loathed to buy something else.

Options were:
*L.o in pram, DS walking - not practical as I walk quite far.
*l.o in pram, DS on buggy board - again no as he likes to run off and dont think he could stand for an hour!
*l.o in pram, toddler seat for DS that attaches to top of pram - excellent idea but the toddler seats dont fit on the linear
*DS in pushchair, l.o in sling - Good option short term so bought a moby wrap as will get use out of it anyway.
*Buy new double - best for us

TBH I wouldn't have gotten one if my mum hadn't offered to buy it but couldn't look a gift horse in the mouth. I was going to go with option 4 and then buy a cheap double buggy for about £50, rather than a newborn equipt pram double, at about 6 mths when l.o could sit up.

Quite relieve to have one now though as everyone I spoke to has said it's a must with our age toddler

DizzyBrummie · 11/02/2009 10:00

Thanks Spotty, my original plan was the same as your option 4 but I didn't realise that the second seat was removable on the p+t. Might have to convince DH that it's a super idea..

Hope you mouth isn't suffering too much, eurgh!

ommmwardandupward · 11/02/2009 10:03

lol at spotty drinking nail polish remover.

KT1983 · 11/02/2009 10:07

Lol Spotty Oh dear....That has got to be a classic pregnancy moment!

Lbb Sorry to hear about all the pains your having, I didnt realised that after pains could be quite so harsh. Dont we have to go through enough wit labour without the added pain of anything else??
Sorry if im being dumb, but are afterpains your Uterus shrinking back to size?

Today I have a stinking headache & aches that feel like period type pains, best I can describe as pulling pains down below IYKWIM??

Ive got the SIL coming round with her two kids today ( one 2 and half & the other is months) not sure i can cope with it

spottyshoes · 11/02/2009 10:09

T'wozn't nice. I dont recommend it as much as the other tonics to bring on labour

Btw cumin tea is much nicer with seeds

KT1983 · 11/02/2009 10:17

Where did you buy the seeds from spotty?

DizzyBrummie · 11/02/2009 10:47

KT you should be able to get the seeds from Sainsburys in the reg her/spice section..

KT1983 · 11/02/2009 11:04

cool, thanks Dizzy.

dinkymum · 11/02/2009 11:17

hi guys sorry I disappeared on you again! DD ot chicken pox so I had my hands full and I had to have a tooth out all within less than 3 weeks of having Isaac. bit chaotic but she's better now just a bit scabby and i've been assured by GP who asked some big mportant man at the hospital that Isaac should be fine as I was in a bit f a panic lol

Regarding the P&T double, I have one and its really useful for us. we use the buses a lot and its really easy and if DD at nursery its easy and practical just to take DS in it to go and pick her up.
its really easy to push especially with one hand and with 2 children the extra hand can come in useful lol

Congratulations on all the babies! really exciting! it would have been my due date on saturday it seems strange to think that I could have still been pregnant now!
hope all that are waiting are doing ok, the LO's will turn up soon enough! wishing you all the best.

big hugs

xx

CONGRATULATIONS GHDAHB Huge big Well done for you & a great big welcome to your little baby girl. Look forward to hearing the birth story & seeing some pics! xx

DizzyBrummie · 11/02/2009 11:34

Congratulations GTDAHB

swampster · 11/02/2009 11:37

That's just lovely, GTDAHB! and

littleboyblue · 11/02/2009 11:58

spotty when mw was trying to break my waters, she said she could feel baby's head really tight on the sack so I asked her if that meant I'd lost the plug (remember I was leaking snot for a bit) and she said (quote) "It's a bit hard to tell from this angle, but maybe"
KT I'm assuming afterpains are just that, everything shrinking back to size etc. Tbh I felt like I was in early stages of labour, but know I wasn't because I was trying to dress my baby!
gtdahm Congratulations! Well done

Am feeling a bit guilty, the first day baby has been awake during the morning and I spent that whole 10mins having to sterilise bottles whilst getting ds's lunch ready. I'd left Luke wrapped in a blanket on the living room rug but was checking on him as ds was running in and out so I saw he was awake and gutted I missed it. Really have to get that sling out.
