Yes! Happy 38 weeks Lardy, Katie & Eejay (and me!)

Pluto - Aww bless. Will he do the night feeds to whilst he's in there

lardybump · 10/02/2009 21:00

I have just ordered a Phil and tedds.... so excited..... A lot of money though so will need to cut back on the cakes now... We were hoping to avoid the double pushchair but the one we have does not accomodate a buggy board and dd is not quiet ready to walk everywhere (only 22 months)... DP is sweating over the amount we spend but hay ho.....

spottyshoes · 10/02/2009 21:11

Ours came last week Lardy and it's lovely. Beige - so not my fave colour but practicality wise its fab! I wish I'd had the sense to buy one last time round as we knew we wanted 2 DC's close together. Came with the double kit, raincovers, mud guards etc and only cost grandma us £240

lardybump · 10/02/2009 21:28

We got the red one, cant wait to try it out... he he we need our babies to check it out so hurry up please babies... he he he

Have you had any more CX today? I have a constant pain in my right rib where i assume the baby is kicking me and also have bad period pains but nothing else today... I havent really felt it move as much either, hadn't really thought of that until now shit I am going to drink some cold water and see if that gets it moving...

swampster · 10/02/2009 22:04

I got my Phil and Ted's when DS1 was tiny. DH thought I was being madder than a fish because of the difficulty we'd had making just one baby (7 years+ ttc and fertility treatment). But he humoured me because he had been living under the tyranny of my hormones for so long that he knew what was good for him. Still can't quite believe DS3 is going to be riding in it!

I don't know too much about high blood pressure, catstar, but let them keep a watchful eye on it and try not to worry. You are so close to having your baby that if there was the slightest need to worry they would probably have whisked you in to hospital already!

Your DS sounds divine, pluto. My DS1, who is 5, set a place at table for the baby with a wee plastic fork and spoon .

Still here, spotty?

This thread is becoming a real soap opera, I can't keep up with everything that's been going on...

littleboyblue · 10/02/2009 22:14

chilled thatsounds good
hiya Astarte
pluto that sounds so sweet about your ds wanting to sleep in baby's room

Question Regarding baby. I'm not holding him or anything when he's sleeping or if he is falling asleep (made that mistake with ds1), but do obviously pick him up for cuddles and chats when he's awake, but apart from holding him, what am I supposed to do with him?
It's so different this time round, that or I just don't remember what I did with ds1......

Cocodrillo · 10/02/2009 23:10

Another vote here for the Phil and Teds, I found it was invaluable for DDs 1 and 2. DD1 was such a lazy arse, she had to be forcibly ejected from the buggy in the end. She was in it till she was 3.5, then insisted on riding on a buggy board attached to our old Maclaren until she hit 4.

Meanwhile we've picked up a cheap 2ndhand Bugaboo too though (am I starting a buggy collection ), as I liked the idea of pushing a pram around , and DD2 hated the cocoon of the P+T from birth. DD2 is going to ride the buggy board (that's the plan). If that doesn't work out we'll just use the P+T.

swampster · 10/02/2009 23:53

My baby looks like Yoda. Is he having a poo?

swampster · 10/02/2009 23:54

Bollock!

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 00:14

Catstar- You normal BP sounds like mine. The questions the doctors will be asking themselves are, did you suffer from any high BPs during your first pg i.e. did they consider you at risk of pre-eclampsia? If not, what is going on in you rlife to make your (usually lovely BP) jump up?? Apparently the top number isn't such an issue but the bottom number is the bit they watch carefully and when/if it hits the 90 it gets them nervous. It doesn't mean you've developed pre-eclampsia, it means that if they can't explain it another way e.g. you totally stressed about something, then they will watch you closely to make sure no other signs are evident. With all the stresses I've had over last 2 weeks mine shot up to 130/85, hospital didn't even blink but me and my IM almost fell off our chairs. Now that decisions have been made it's back to normal 115/65.

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 00:19

lbb- I used to hold DS when he was asleep sometimes and wiled(sp) away the hours picking off his cradle cap . I found it really relaxing and didn't have to try and wash his hair or rub oil in very often.

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 00:30

its very quiet on here tonight! Anyone would think you had better things to do

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 00:32

Oh...I have a question. GP gave me a prescription for Diclofenac Sodium for possible afterpains...I asked for something as wanted to be prepared. Has anyone used/using it??

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 00:38

Spotty-meant to say...thankyou for v kind words but not so much strength and determination as pitiful self knowledge that I won't labour well in hospital and sadly (having done lots of research on this) safeest way to have a breech birth is with an experienced MW not an Obs/Gyn . NHS in my area have almost entirely lost their breech skills

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 01:19

I might be able to fill rest of this thread myself...where are you??...oh yes, in bed because its middle of night!!!

TinkerBellesMumandFiFi2 · 11/02/2009 01:22

chilled it's wonderful stuff! I had it after all three births and it does help.

Thought I'd come in and say hi as I saw your last message. I've not been posting on here as I feel a bit out of place, everyone else is pregnant or have a newborn and I'm so much further on. I also feel a little sad watching the excited new birth posts because I've never had that, I've never had a birth to be excited over

swampster · 11/02/2009 01:40

chilled bed calls, but I LOVE my diclofenac - on three a day! tis same as voltarol I was told...

spottyshoes · 11/02/2009 05:15

Yep.....still here swampy. With all this palava and I bet I end up overdue [sigh]

Chilled - No breech skills at all here. There was ONE Obs guy in our COUNTY that had experience of breech VB and he had just retired about a month before I had DS so they full on refuse in this area!

I had Diclofenac post CS - lovely

LBB - sniff his cute little baby head! Ahhhh newborn smell....cant wait!

Coco - that will be my DS too. 22mths on Friday and still wants to be carried up the stairs!! there is no way we could have escaped the double buggy, he'll be in it for years!

I like the red Lardy , and apple, and cameo blue and.... The beige was the only one at that price tho so stinginess won out over gorgeousness Lack of movements may be baby conserving energy for the big heave-ho? This one is much quieter these days - must be dizzied by 4 days of Cx . Cx stopped this morning but have been replaced by those cervix pains I mentioned on the other thread

Oh well at least I can look forward to more sleep when l.o comes rather than less

No word from our 4 labouring ladies then?

spottyshoes · 11/02/2009 05:16

Wow that took me 30 to read thread and type message! Cotton wool head

KT1983 · 11/02/2009 06:33

Morning everyone,

Any more babies throughout the night perhaps?
Am sure we will hear from PT,QK & mrsY very soon with some exciting news

My news is non existent - No waters, no contractions, and not a single sign of baby!

I know im only two days over & probably have quite a longer wait, esp after excitement yesterday being something of nothinc so it seems, but I just want have my body back & more than anything want to meet my baby.

Have a good day everyone x

littlesez · 11/02/2009 06:54

I woke up because i had a dream that i was in labour, it was very exciting but then i realised i just needed a pee! So cant get back to sleep now got all giddy for a mo then. Quiet on the baby front was thinking there would be some news. Loving all the fluffy newborn pics on facebook, keep em coming ladies i never tire of looking at them.

Hope your baby comes soon for you KT and anyone else waiting (suppose thats all of us!)

xxx

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 07:53

DS was sick in every bed in our home last night/this morning!![extremely fed-up and tired emoticon]
One wash already in, but I'm going to be at it all day! Luckily, it was mainly water and snot that came up each time but he finds it really upsetting (no surprise). Need to keep a close eye on him for next hour or so and see if he can go to nursery so that I can go back to bed!!

Instant update: He's just wandered over to me asking for cuddles and saying "tempreture" and demanding I switch off computer...also something about dragons...oh to be a 2 year old

lardybump · 11/02/2009 07:55

I had such a bad nights sleep... Period type pains got really bad that I thought here we but then I was very sick and woke dd up so spent ages getting her back to sleep only to realise that my pains had stopped.... bugger......

Must of had all of 3 hours sleep last night, and have a full day today... Never mind there is worst to come....

Hope you have all managed more sleep than me and that there are more babies here today...

catstar · 11/02/2009 08:20

Morning all! Thanks Chilled for info about BP. It might just be my cold etc, but I haven't felt any baby movements this morning either (he usually wakes me up!) so I think I might just give the DAU a call in an hour or so, just to put my mind at rest. By the way, no idea about the after pains stuff, sorry!

Lardy - sounds like it's going to be a long day for you. I had one of those yesterday. It helps to keep things busy, but don't over do it!

Better run as rice krispies are overboard and you have to chip them off if you leave them!

Take care everyone.

chilledmama · 11/02/2009 08:34

Catstar-should also have said...I've heard my MW say that its quite common for BP to go up when your close to popping...reduced moevement of LO would also fit that profile but definately run it all past DAU/MW.
