in my house, cleaning gets done as and when I can get it done.
My DH thinks it's too soon for me to be looking at prams! What does he know!! If it were up to him nothing would be thought of until B-Day! It's so hard not to get swamped by all the choice. I often feel overwhelmed. I go into shops and tellthe lady what I'm after and she'll show me a couple of prams - and then I spot another one which she didn't show me and it turns out to be come a possibility and ticks all the boxes! I hate it when I don't get shown all possibilities! Or when they start talking jargon and expect me to understand what they are on about!

OK I'm off to bed now cos my eyes are beginning to twitch!!

Morning ladies.

I'm handing in my MAT cert and letter explaining what leave I want today. Wish me luck. Not looking forward to seeing my boss . Although he owes me 7 weeks wages at the moment so I could do with seeing him to get some money . have decided to take 39 weeks off which means I'll go back at the beginning of Jan 2010 - it seems such a long way off but I'm sure it will fly by.

Jennster · 20/01/2009 08:18

Hmm thanks for reminding me about the MatB1 form. Had completely forgotten about as I had forgotten to let HR know I was expecting. Everybody else has know for ages, but because I didn't get the letter from them requesting the MatB1 I had forgotten. The mw I saw on Friday who actually delivered ds is the cmw for where I work so is dropping it off for me today, so I SHOULD be able to get it in before Friday when I am 24+6.....

detsy We live in the midlands and my DH works as a marine pilot for the port of London. He takes ships in and out of the port as he has inside knowledge of the Thames. He used to be a merchant navy officer and be away for even longer. We're looking at moving to Kent within the next 18 months, but first we've got to get our house in some sort of sellable condition. I'm hoping to be able to arrange something better for work once we're all living together full time and then we hopefully wont need an au pair anymore.

Re: the M&P Skate: that's the one I've got on order since I was 13 weeks. M&P had a very very good deal on it at that time and it was the highest handle height in any buggy I'd tried so far. I felt a bit silly ordering it that early, but I didn't want to loose the offer! I thought it looked less than a shopping trolley than the Buggaboo, so I don't know what Which was on about. When it comes to buggies I don't trust reviews that much. I think it's very much a personal choice. I've had buggies in the past which I thought were brilliant which had bad reviews and vice versa.

hi all. hope all well. great new thread title!
about cleaning - we've been skimping lately: our dog has been on 'holiday' at in laws for two weeks so the house has been so much easier to clean. he's arrived back today so a lot more effort, vacuuming, mopping, dusting needs to be done. and who has time? sigh.
just got back from shop with caramel digestives. mmmm. can't say I'm a Creme Egg fan, though. don't like the centre. but it may be a marmite thing....

1stMrsF · 20/01/2009 11:33

flippineck I would reccommend going back and have another look at the Easy Walker; as you say it is actually slightly narrower than the OutnAbout Nipper and I really liked it (solid, smart looking, carrycots possible) but was too tall for me and too big for car boot - the Nipper being shorter is better for short-arse me and folds smaller too. But if these things are not be disadvantages for you in the same way, I think it is a really lovely pram.

Mamas & Papas just called to offer me £100 off my nursery furniture order if I just have it delivered flat pack instead of getting it built. Assembly is included in the price of this range because, to quote the brochure, the built is 'more complex' and I'm thinking I can't be doing with complex things right now, I just want it to arrive and be ready to go without hassle. So I said no, but am now worrying that I was mad...

1stMrsF · 20/01/2009 11:35

Never heard of a caramel digestive, that sounds good.

I am a big Twix fan currently.

Momino · 20/01/2009 12:27

1stMrsF, it's a mcVities with caramel and choc, like a 'millionaires' shortbread' or toffee slice.

£100 off sounds nice but I understand about the hassle and what it's worth to have someone assemble who knows what they're doing! it's also your time you'd be spending so don't worry too much about it.

SweetBROODY · 20/01/2009 12:41

Hello ladies - its lovely to see all this progress.. Mommino I share that concern.. especiually as I am sure that the LO will be compared to other LO's in the family!

I cant beleive how quickly time is going now... the first 3 months felt like they went on forever.. but I cant bleive that i'm 5 months pregnant.. I can feel lots of movements.. and its quite scary. I had a bit of a cry at my 20 week scan because I was saying to the doc that even though I KNOW i'm pregnant I dont feel it - especially after last MMC in May last year.. Its one of those things isnt it... Until the baby is here.. I dont think I will beleive it..

I had a well dodgy dram about hubby and woke up crying! WHy do we do this to ourselves!

Momino · 20/01/2009 15:38

ugh. just had four of those caramel biscuits and now feel ill.

seemed a good idea at the time .

1stMrsF · 20/01/2009 18:48

LOL Momino re biscuits - I was thinking 'yum' and then scrolled down to your last post!

pulapula · 20/01/2009 19:52

1stMrsF- I think saving £100 to build your own furniture isn't worth it either- the time, the frustration, the fact it might end up a bit wobbly... And to get it delivered ready-made is so exciting! I think you made the right decision so don't worry

pulapula · 20/01/2009 19:55

I ate a whole 100g bag of mini eggs last night and felt sick by the end of it but it was still enjoyable!

Must go and make some dinner (when i say "make" this involves going down in the cellar, taking something out of the freezer, and putting it in the microwave )

LoobyLou36 · 20/01/2009 21:07

I've just eaten a creme egg, yum yum. I could eat another

Jennster · 20/01/2009 21:34

Saving £100 is a false economy when you think about divorce proceedings. Or that is how it is in the Jennster house anyway

Jennster- very true!

I am excited because tonight DH was able to feel LOs movements for the first time (22.1weeks) which is impressive considering its only a week or so since i started to feel movements internally, so LO must be growing nicely (i'm sure he's had a growth spurt as I've been craving milk again and had itchy sides which seems to coincide with tummy growth!) . So for anyone not feeling much movement, things can change very quickly.

My SIL had a scare today- she is around 17 weeks pg and MW couldn't find HB so they were referred to hospital and had a scan- everything was fine, so she was relieved (and happy to see LO again).

Plus my sister has her early scan on Friday (6 weeks) and I so hope there is a HB as she has been through so much IVF to get to this stage (fingers and toes crossed). Exciting to think that if there is a HB then there could well be two (as she had 2 embryos implanted).

FiKelly · 20/01/2009 23:09

decided to be good and go to bed early tonight but have tossed and turned so much over the last hour and 20mins that i got hungry! so now back up having a glass of milk. got an exciting day tomorrow as dh taking me and ds out for lunch and shopping for the day.

pulapula so glad your sil ok and will keep everything crossed for your sis

Momino · 21/01/2009 09:02

morning all. it's a work day so relieved after dropping off girls at nursery. now eating 'breakfast' - cheese and pickle at 9am.

i don't find my cravings too strong anymore but i do eat weird things.

LoobyLou36 · 21/01/2009 09:21

MMmmm cravings - I just seem to want spicy food ALL the time!

Oh and chocolate

LoobyLou36 · 21/01/2009 09:21

Had 2 toasted hot cross buns for breakfast.

Don't normally like them.

LoobyLou36 · 21/01/2009 09:24

My boss hasn't mentioned my letter about maternity leave yet so I assume all is well and have booked my 2 weeks holiday off on the chart at work. I'll finish 11 weeks on friday.

Was searching the net last night for things to do when I'm off. Have found a mums and baby group that meets in the next street in thurs morning, a sling workshop that meets once a week, a nappucino morning once a month and a breastfeeding meet ince a week.

Momino · 21/01/2009 09:53

looby, you'll be busy !

SweetBROODY · 21/01/2009 10:39

Looby How did you discover all those? I cant seem to find anything in my area.. but then Its not been that long since I moved to Barnet.

all this talk of choc eggs is making me envious.. I really shouldnt indulge seeing as my sugars are going through the roof!
Even thinking about food and I'm on a high - its strange actually doc said I wasnt eating enough and thats bad for me and baby.. but then so is weating! :S what do I do!

SweetBROODY · 21/01/2009 10:49

I watched a crazy show last night as well.. Women who didnt know they were pregnant.. It made me cry! IT was sad but exciting.. can you imagine not knowing and turning up at A&E giving birth!

In some ways its easier right none of the worry for the 9/10 Months!

Jennster · 21/01/2009 12:51

OH dear. Am sitting in bed on the lap top. Just got back from AandE having managed to scald my face and chest.

I picked the kettle up at work expecting it to be full, and it wasn't, had just been boiled and so was lighter than I expected. I was turning around at the same time, whacked it into a doorframe I was simultaneously passing through and splashed it all over my face and chest. I've got to go back tomorrow for a dressing clinic. I've got blisters on my chest, and my face is purple, but luckily I was wearing my glasses so it missed my eye, although the socket is pretty sore and red.
