dinkystinky · 11/01/2009 20:11

I suspect all late third trimester threads feature poo and mucus alot - as well as lost pelvic floors and leaks galore....

herbgarden · 11/01/2009 21:04

Oooh how weird - before I read the next bit of the thread I lay here on the sofa wondering what I wanted to eat (had a big lunch so i wasn't cooking proper dinner tonight) and decided I'd make pancakes !....so I made blueberry and banana pancakes and found some ice-cream in the freezer...(oh and a bit of cream from last night....) mmmm.yum. I am now sucking on a Gaviscon .

The next 2 days ds is at nursery so I have 2 whole days to myself. I can't believe how excited I get when Monday/Tuesday comes around. I fancy another trip to the cinema to see that Slumdog Millionaire film.....

McDreamy · 11/01/2009 21:07

Oooh Swampster - good croc tip! I'm off to find my fake ones now! My mum bought me some Fuggs for Xmas, I have been wearing them as slippers instead of outdoors - thinking of taking them into hospital too!

thehouseofmirth · 11/01/2009 21:08

LMN I've heard of people asking the anaesthetist to have the camera and take pics as baby comes out.

Am of all this pooing. Still quite bunged up here!

chilledmama · 11/01/2009 21:12

HOM-me too...and I'm eating more fruit than you could shake a stick at!!!

Crocs £14.47 from sweetfeet - mine are two sizes too big in anticipation. They are 40% off anyway so £17.something + voucher code BC01 is another 10%! I think they have limited sizes and colours though.

I want a poo too and chocolate and pancakes.

McDreamy · 11/01/2009 21:41

I have pooed today but am considering a little more ice cream - have already had a bowl of strawberry! Can I have a bit more?

chilledmama · 11/01/2009 21:44

really want a stack of american pancakes. Still hot with lovely butter and maybe a little maple syrup on the side. Not on my diet plan though!!! I keep having trace amounts of sugar in my wee so trying to be careful about intake in case docs get paranoid on my behalf!

FFS, I just wrote out a massive message, then couldn't remember who said what so went to last page and post disappeared!
Thanx for messages and explanations, all is ok, still getting cramps but think PT you might be right about 2nd pg having body prepare early. I don't think anything is about to happen just being silly. It does feel with every movement he makes that I'm gonna burst.
The plug with ds was green/yellow/bloody and I def felt that come out! But have heard it can come bit by bit. Just have to see what happens, but nothing is telling me it's 'time' so must just be panicing. I've done very little this weekend as ds has stayed with my mum. Must just be late pg stuff. Am 36wks on Tuesday.

I've packed crocs for hospital too, remember trying to keep my balance in flip-flops last time, not the easiest thing to do!

I want pancakes now

Ds loves his newly decorated room, we bought some of those foam picture things, Bob the Builder for his side of the room and Winnie the Pooh for ds2's side and ds just stood in the middle of the room pointing at all the new pics with a big smile and a laugh saying "whassat? whassat?" it was soooo cute!

thehouseofmirth · 11/01/2009 21:52

Swampster have you ever filled pancakes (crepey type not American) with fried banana and melted dark chocolate? Could potentially kill several birds with one stone!

McDreamy it is your duty to eat more icecream. You must provide enough calcium for the baby you know!

littleboyblue · 11/01/2009 21:54

I've just had a massive bowl of ice-cream, going to get some more in a minute, but I do want pancakes! I don't like anything in them though.....Dp like them with ice-cream but I like to keep all the important food groups seperate!

Sorry to crash here, but I just wanted to say that your thread title made me giggle! Good luck to you all!

McDreamy · 11/01/2009 21:58

We had pancakes for breakfast yesterday on my lovely pancake maker - I know I know very lazy but I love it and so do the children

LittleMissNorty · 11/01/2009 21:59

bloody hell you lot....I've got to go and eat more chocolate now

mumoverseas · 12/01/2009 05:42

morning all,
thanks for whoever started my pancakes and ice cream craving Was thinking of making a roast tonight but might just waddle to the shop (crapy little excuse of a supermarket on our compound) and see if I can find some pancake mix and ben & jerrys.
Hope the aches and pains ease for everyone, the sleeping on a duvet idea sounds fab, will try it tonight. The last week my DH and I have taken it in turns sleeping in my 12 year old DD's room (she is at boarding school, so are not with her!) but no matter what, I still can't get comfortable.
Starting to worry a bit about my back as the last few days I've felt a rather odd 'grinding' low down when I move. Seems to be just below where I had my spinal fusion and am starting to worry if maybe my back is starting to 'go' further down. Vaguely remember my surgeon warning that sometimes just below or above the fusion can weaken and that ultimately that disc may need removing/fusing. Guess thats why he probably said not to have more children! Apparently there is a british physio on this compound so I might try to track her down for a bit of advice if possible.
Right, off in search of pancakes. Hope everyone has a good day

LittleMissNorty · 12/01/2009 08:47

Morning all

Oh a pancake maker sounds great......didn't even know you could get them.....I've got a ice-cream maker which is FAB....

Hope your back is OK MOS....I was 35 weeks when mine "went" last time and the osteopath said it was just the weight of the baby (he did ease it up though for the final 3 weeks). I am carrying much lower this time and my back aches like mad after just a few minutes standing atm.

Well, 3 weeks today, I shall be in hospital, hopefully cuddling my new baby....and it can't come quickly enough

littleboyblue · 12/01/2009 08:48

MoS That does not sound pleasant. Take it easy.
Ds didn't get up til 8!!!! And he ate his breakfast, starting to wonder if my mum gave me the right child back

LittleMissNorty · 12/01/2009 08:48

Don't knock it LBB.....long may it continue

mumoverseas · 12/01/2009 08:56

hurrah, there are people out there. Was starting to think that you were all having really long lie ins!
came back from shops without pancake mix (although they did have packet mix and some strange blueberry pancake mix in a carton) but instead came back with all the makings for a roast dinner. (and arctic roll, not seen that for years)
LLB, sounds like your mum is good at training little ones, does she want to borrow mine for a while?
LMN, thinking about it, pretty sure this one is much lower down that previous ones so maybe thats why my back is so bad this time (or just old age?)
right, off to waddle and start peeling potatoes. Roast is starting to sound like a stupid idea now

littleboyblue · 12/01/2009 09:04

My mum must be doing something different, she said he went straight to sleep everytime he was put down (when we stayed over xmas, I had to sit with him for an hour at bedtime), he ate everything offered (even rice cakes which he hates).
I saw an arctic roll the other day for the first time in years! I hate them though. It's eithr got to be cake or ice-cream, not both, like I said yesterday, all the important food groups seperately please!

LMN It would be lovely for him to sleep that late all the time, the only thing was that he woke up soaked through, even his blanket and bedsheet was wet

thehouseofmirth · 12/01/2009 09:05

Morning!

I can claim credit for the pancake epidemic but not the ice cream. Enjoy!

Please do get some advice about yor back MOS. It sounds a bit scary but hopefully you can take some pre-emptive action before it get worse.

Attentioners LONDONERS and SOUTHERNERS!

We've got our meet up scheduled for next Monday. Are we still up for it? We were talking about meeting at 12-ish at Royal Festival Hall Cafe on Southbank. There's a thread on Facebook about it so pop over and "sign up". Have I mentioned the fab cake they have there...

littleboyblue · 12/01/2009 09:08

Not sure if I'll come now. Was thinking the pain had eased up alot so was back on for it, but went into town on friday, was out for 4 hours and wanted to die so not sure it's the best idea to do a long journey on public transport and be out all day.......
Saying that, dp is working nights so might want to get out of house. Maybe I'll ask about staying at mums, but will have to see how we get on this week, I'm still not over my paranoid issues of yesterday and still getting bad cramping pains.......

So in short, I don't know if I'll come, may have to just see how I feel on the day.

LittleMissNorty · 12/01/2009 09:11

MOS - take it easy....I prepared all my veg for our roast yesterday sitting at the dining room table and it was SO much easier. You need to be really careful....I have a dodgy back but haven't had any fusion, but do know how much it can hurt and how debilitating it can be.

Blimey LBB.....does DS drink a lot before he goes to sleep? DD used to do that when she had milk at bedtime, but she dropped that herself.

I'm going have to put her down for a nap soon....I can't keep my eyes open myself .....Its 10 past 9 FFS!
