Here is the lazy answer to herb's blackout solution.

onwardandupward · 20/01/2009 14:17

Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay!!!! Cross posted.

CONGRATULATULATIONS Oooogs. Luke Daniel is a lovely name and 8lb 6oz is a bouncing weight!!!

PinkTulips · 20/01/2009 14:17

FAN-FUCKIN-TASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

bless, she had a long labour poor thing, hope both of them are getting a bit of rest after such a long night.

ridiculously happy that we're finally having more babies!

dinkystinky · 20/01/2009 14:18

Hurrah for Oooggs and baby Luke! The second fab feb baby!!

Catstar - you can get Baa Baa black out liner/blind (which you just stick onto the window with suction cup things) - we've got one for when we go on holiday (as curtains/blinds arent always guaranteed to block out the sun) and it works a treat. I though Little O's screeching was great - it was like she was joining in with all the nattering...

Calico - glad you've spoken with a medic who knows what's going on re your back (about time!). Good luck with getting your CS date.

LBB - enjoy riding that washing machine!

Pempe - perceived wisdom (at least among my doctor mates who have had C-secs) is its far better to have waxed the relevant area (at least in UK) if you're having a C-sec as otherwise you get a midwife with a bic razor dry shaving you for your section...

Ladies - we will soon need another thread title (probably later today given the rate at which we chat). I throw the thread title discussion open to the floor....

McDreamy · 20/01/2009 14:31

Ooh another baby yay!!!! Welcome Luke Congratulations oogs

So is that you back to SM then Calico for another appointment? They said to me to expect to be in for 3 days. I was out after 2 with my previous DCs, they said if everything is ok there is no reason why I can't leave on day 2.

Let me know your date. It should be quite close to mine I know they like to deliver you pretty much 39 weeks on the dot. I managed to squeeze 38+5 out of them becuase of DD's birthday. When are you 39 weeks?

KazzaL · 20/01/2009 14:33

swampy - the blueberries were great too, liked them more than the pop-in from a leakage perspective(I got a trial pack of 4 diff types over Xmas/NY from Cotton Baby)though. I espcially liked the colour of the blueberry - very 70s retro Quite liked the Bambinex all in one as well. Also had a nature babies aio in my pack, but that was really bulky.

My only issue was that some of them only go up to 30lb and DS is already 27, so not much growing room and I think it will be at least the summer before he is ready to even start potty training, if not the end of the year or even next year. Thank goodness his nursery have stopped charging for post 2 years nappies!!

swampster · 20/01/2009 14:33

Onward, the nappyrati all go to IKEA and get a super cheap fleece liner to chop up.

I'm not a big fan of fleece, I think it makes DS's bum a bit sore and red. And if I've gone to all the trouble of getting loads of lovely natural-fibre bamboo nappies, I'd rather not put nasty artificial fleece fibre next to his bum.

My nasty artificial fibre BG nappies which I love have their own built in fleecy covers.

And I do use paper liners some of the time.

rosieposey · 20/01/2009 14:35

Ok thats better. Changed my age too as i will be 37 in 10 days so thought i may as well

Congratulations Oooggs! Thats fantastic news beautiful names too - my nephew is a luke

Oh more babies please, Cant wait to see photos.

McDreamy · 20/01/2009 14:35

Arrrggghhhh! I don't know which nappies to try/order !

swampster · 20/01/2009 14:36

Blueberry side snaps large are 22-40lb! Hope DS2 is out of nappies before he is out of his BGs.

Neeerly3 · 20/01/2009 14:37

Congrats Oooggs! Welcome Luke!

swampster · 20/01/2009 14:38

McDreamy, I've found Kittykins is very good for comparisons and their range is pretty comprehensive too.

KazzaL · 20/01/2009 14:39

Started typing that post and then had to answer the phone and just carried on when I finished and missed oogs & Luke - congrats

MrsY · 20/01/2009 14:42

YAY! Congrats, oooogs lovely name!

Am in the middle of a mad day of back to back visitors, so I'll pop back online later...

onwardandupward · 20/01/2009 14:43

So do you not really bother with liners at all, swermp? Just the totsbot or equivalent and bob's your uncle?

Tiny breastfed baby poo is only scrambled egg, anyway. I'm inclined to just shove it in the washing machine as it arrives, yk? The whole scraping-it-off-the-nappy bit is waaaaay down the line.
