tee wicked news about your work
laura hope your appointment went well and pins and needles is just "normal", I get that in my hand from time to time but it just goes quickly.
juicy Been talking about the babyshow with dh and it looks like we can only really go on the Saturday now. I'll let you know if it changes, we specifically didn't book it in case we can do it on the Sunday.

Excellent news about gaviscon being available on prescription, I shall be calling the GP tomorrow!!

June2009 · 19/02/2009 18:23

mean to add: Shall we start looking for a new thread name? Not sure how it works really but I think it stops working once you get to a certain amount of posts or something?

Tee2072 · 19/02/2009 18:43

yeah, each thread can only have 1000 posts.

So any ideas?

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 19/02/2009 20:12

Braved Ikea this morning... what a nightmare! Got most of the things we wanted, tho forgot to get the bed guards for DS's new bed AAAAGH! Oh well!

Felt achey all day - I thought I was getting a urine infection, but I think it's just being on my feet all day. Brother and his girlfriend are up for two nights tomorrow, and then mum and dad on Sat so a bit manic all weekend. I need to bake mum a birthday cake too....

No ideas for a new thread name... something about approaching the third trimester (isn't that at 26 weeks?) I'm 25 weeks tomorrow - I can't believe it!!

OP posts:
Tee2072 · 19/02/2009 20:15

Yes, its 26 weeks ineed! You're almost there!

We're planning to be at Ikea next Saturday, a decision I may regret!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 19/02/2009 20:25

Good luck Tee - it's a bit of a nightmare, but worth the bargains. It's so hard not to look at everything and say 'I REALLY need this' when you don't really....

OP posts:
Juicygirlpink · 19/02/2009 21:18

tee- big on the news at work!

laura- hope you ok after dr's today

june- shame about the baby show once everyone has finished work maybe we should try & arrange something then?

i need- didn't realize that 26 weeks was the final Trimester I read somewhere it was 28, but 26 makes more sense doesnt it! Oh am excited now, only 10 days until I am in the 3rd trimester !

I will have a think about new thread names when I wake at 3am & cant get back to sleep.... in other news we have booked the 3d scan at last ! Monday 9th of march- very exciting!

lauraloo09 · 19/02/2009 21:31

evening all - sorry I can't think of any ideas for the new thread, will try and think of a suggestion

well doc appointment went ok I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in my arms. Doc is also wanting me tested for diabetes (which my dad has) and get tests for pre-eclampsia...he doesn't think I have pre-eclampsia but some symptoms i spoke about concerned him. I have to wear a tubi-grip on my wrists until I get referred to the physio who will give me wrist splints to use.

My friend who is due 5 days after me is sailing thro her pregnancy, no ms or anything just so unfair

I started watching the documentary on the conjoined twins but burst into tears so recorded it on V+ and i'll watch it when i'm more composed.

sorry for the depressing post

Tee2072 · 19/02/2009 21:38

laura at least you know what's going on now. I have diabetes and it is really not that big of a deal. If they do say you have, push to be put on insulin, not diet controlled. Much easier to control it with insulin, especially when pregnant.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 19/02/2009 21:46

I'm watching that documentary too Laura I must be mad! Glad you finally know what's going on with your wrists, sorry about the splints though. I sympathise as I have to wear a really unattractive belt around my hips to minimise the effects of SPD - it's a pain, but worth it. Aren't these people who sail through their pregnancies a PITA?!!

OP posts:
DorisIsAPinkDragon · 19/02/2009 22:06

Lauraloo- I had(have)carpel tunnel,I wore the wrist supports with dd1 but tbh they were so uncomfortable now I just do without I often wake in the night unable to feel part of hand/arm (only when pregnant!)(last night could feel middle ring and baby fingers on my right hand!!)

Oh and snap I've got to sort out a GTT too cos of my dad!!

Whoever linked to the bras (sorry think it was Juicy) They seem expensive for what they are maybe do a pricerunner or equivelent search before ordering??

For names for the new thread I think Tee said it all with the Home Streeeeetch (or some such!)

Night all off to ponder berate dh for his lack of taste) baby names.

Night all

June2009 · 19/02/2009 22:48

yeah I thought the same when Tee said it, Home streeeetch for the June mothers or something :D

Tee2072 · 20/02/2009 06:49

How about:

Heeereee comes June, its the home streeeeetch!

Tee2072 · 20/02/2009 11:00

Where is everybody? I'm trying to avoid work over here!!

Juicygirlpink · 20/02/2009 11:09

hey all!

Tee- I am here can't think of anything creative though! In fact can't think of much, my baby brain is like jelly today. Did anyone watch 'jade' last night? It was so sad really feel for her & her family but she is being so strong.

bigcar · 20/02/2009 11:59

Morning all

tee, is this your last friday at work by any chance? I'm afraid my imagination has gone on long term leave it's the end of half term, like your suggestion for a new thread title!

laura, glad to hear you've got an answer to the pins and needles, hope the tubi grip's working.

I had an absolutley crap antenatal appointment at the hospital yesterday As far as I was concerned I shouldn't have had a hospital appointment until week 34 to discuss my options for delivery after complications with my last 2 deliveries. But I thought, oh well, if I get to discuss this earlier, gives me more time to plan, don't mind dragging dd2, ds and dd3 along if it's important. Thankfully i'd planned for a fairly long wait and taken plenty of entertainment along. Turns out they hadn't bothered to get my notes from my previous babies so I have to go back again in 5 weeks. I'd also told the doctor i'd been quite sore and uncomfortable but before I could elaborate she started talking about something else. I got home and just felt they'd totally wasted my time, until I read what she'd written in my handheld notes and then I was absolutely livid She'd written I was well and that she was happy for me to trial labour depending on baby being ceph, wtf, how the hell can she write this sort of rubbish without having seen my previous medical history, it's totally beyond me. I take it I don't get asked an opinion on this one, we hadn't even discussed it?!! I've calmed down a little this morning but have still spoken to PALS and made a verbal complaint, they've just got back to me with an appointment to see the consultant next week to discuss it all, so that will be fun Really not what I need at the moment Sorry for the rant, feel free to ignore, just needed to get it off my chest!

Doris, the link was mine will check it out. I have seen these makes at a similar price in the shops, just can't get them large enough None of the reasonably priced ones seem to go up large enough for me!

Tee2072 · 20/02/2009 12:15

It is indeed bigcar! And its only half a day, I'm outta here in 15 minutes!

bigcar · 20/02/2009 13:27

That's great tee! Hope you've got an afternoon of sitting with your feet up planned Just don't get addicted to daytime tv

Tee2072 · 20/02/2009 13:50

bigcar I just finished lunch and am off to have a sleep! Talk to y'all later!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 20/02/2009 13:58

Bigcar That's so crap! I would have been LIVID! Good on you for complaining and getting another appointment. WTF? No wonder the NHS has such a bad reputation for ante-natal care at the moment. Hopefully you'll feel a bit more listened to next time round.

Got manic day ahead, so only a short catch up. Insomnia is still horrendous; 3 hours sleep a night on average and it's making me a little zombified. If I hear another person say 'it's good practice for when baby comes' I'll rip their fucking heads off! I never understood it when people said that.... surely good preparation is to have lots of sleep before the baby comes..... oh well.....

Another friend had her baby this week and now she has one of each. Can't help feeling a little , even though I'm thrilled to be having another DS, it's a completely irrational, stupid feeling. I am completely aware, it's just my id rearing it's ugly head..... my sister finds out in a few weeks what she's having. She has a DD already, and we have an incredibly complex and difficult relationship. I just KNOW that she's going to have a boy and I'll be even more . Oh well, I'm sure my id will go back to sleep at some point...

Hope you all have lovely weekends planned ahead. Enjoy your afternoon off Tee.... avoid Jeremy Kyle on future Friday mornings and you'll be fine...

Deep breaths now Ineed . Your situation sounds like my sis and her SIL. SIL followed everything she did - my sis and now-DH got engaged, DH's bro was browbeaten by his GF into following suit. Weddings 3 months apart. Sis announces first pg, SIL follows after 3 months, both have girls. Sis announces 2nd pg, SIL follows after 3 months, sis has another girl, SIL has a boy. Sis goes AAAAAAAAAArrrggghhh. Then calms down and enjoys her lovely girls who now play together beautifully and are the best of friends. Pop that id back in its box and know that your DD will be made up at having a sister. (given the choice of a bro or a sis I'd go for sis every time. I have one bro and 4 sisters and none of us get on with him at all!).

Juicygirlpink · 20/02/2009 14:37

Hi all,

Bigcar- what a bloody awful day for you Hun, as erm said no wonder the nhs get such a bad rep for antenatal! Well done on you for complaining (100% within your rights sweetie) hope next weeks appt goes ok

Ineed- sorry your feeling pooey, it really just must be your knackered! How dare people make stupid comments about when the baby comes, it's my guess (& bare in mind I am a first timer) that our wonderful womanly bodies go into super mode & the babes are looked after just fine no matter how much sleep we have! - sweetie I couldn't function on 3 hours sleep before I was pg let alone after! Keep gritting your teeth! Oh and your ds will be an angel

Erm- isn't it funny how one of us has always been through something similar! Glad you have a good relationship with your sis' me I am the only one would have always loved a little sister!

Other news from the juicy camp- dh driving me mad today he has been working at home this week & doing nothing but annoy! He went out on the piss last night with the boys (fine by me!) & today is acting like a pilloc! We need so much done in our house it's unbelievable! We have to do babys room & redecorate every other room in the house! Oh and the kitchen rip out starts 2/3 for a month! I suggested we go to ikea this afternoon or Sunday both of which are not convienient to him for some reason (ie he has a hangover) I am just worried in a months time I won't have the energy to do anything! Oh & re painting the lounge I said very directly that I don't want by fil coming down 'to help' & that my dh must do it!!!! And breathe, the other thing that has pissed me off is tomorrow we have a surprise 30th party 'up west' I bought a lovely mat silk top from topshop in the sale, asked my cleaner to iron it this am & yes you guessed it brown spodgy mucky watermarks all over it! So took it dry cleaner man who said he doesn't think it will come out. You know what it's like - nothing fits anymore & I felt really good in the top- ah well! Btw not blaming my cleaner she is a treasure just very unfortunate!

June2009 · 20/02/2009 15:21

boo @ antenatal appointments gone bad
Hope everything gets better at your next appointment bigcar. My midwife always seems to be writing a lot in my notes compared to the little amount of time we have spent discussing things. I felt the last meeting we had was useless.

juicy we've just been invited to a wedding at the end of April and I have absolutely no idea what I will be wearing or how I will cope with all the standing up/sitting down/hanging around malarky. (Already told dh I won't be going to the Church ceremony.)

Don't worry, dhs can be slower at getting things done. Mine's taken over laundry so I don't have to lift thebasket and now the clothes tend to stay in the kitchen for a couple of days before being moved anywhere.
The files the accountant sent us back 3 weeks ago are still in the hallway.
I think I will start taking them upstairs one by one, should be all cleared before June... (We usually have a tidy house.)
Good luck with all the work, it'll be lovely when it's done. Make sure you get pregnancy friendly paint, do you not get on with bil?

Have you guys seen the pregnant belly painting on the bbc website?

Tee I like your idea for the next thread title :D

really need to fix myself some lunch...

Tee2072 · 20/02/2009 17:14

Well, everyone seemed to like it, so here it is:

Heeeereee comes June its the home streeeetch!!!
