tree, definitely it's the uncertainty. would be much easier to deal with knowing it was going to be next week than sitting around wondering about every twinge

rrrayray · 05/01/2009 22:56

Gooooooooooo FLF

C.Sage Sounds interesting, think might get some into the house and pop a drop in bath. Shall see!

Had soak in tub & off to bed... i wont say to sleep... as that rarely happens.... but hoping to!

treedelivery · 05/01/2009 23:44

I'm at the point where I am in bed but sleep is the last thing I think of! And everytime I move I get tightnings - but come this time of night I don't feel like encouraging them by hurtling up and down the stairs. So I sit twiddling thumbs and wondering if I have enough nappies.

Wonder how FLF is doing....maternity units need to get with the programme and post regular updates online [subject to consent of course ]

fourlittlefeet · 06/01/2009 00:35

I can tell you! after monitoring and a quick check, contractions are regular but cervix closed and posterior. they wanted to keep me in for monitoring but we came home; if nothing doing would rather not be having regular contractions on a large ward. agghh. when will this be over?! sorry chaps, someone else will have to take on the batton tonight

treedelivery · 06/01/2009 00:37

Argh - almost too excited to read post!!

Your having my last night tonight!! Bonkers.

Clearly the moon just isn't quite right for us!! How are you feeling now? Still happening.

Periwink · 06/01/2009 07:09

Ah ladies - cannot believe our babies are not wanting out, mind you it is so damend cold I am not surprised they would rather stay put!

Moose - when are our babies going to arrive? They sure do have minds of their own. I have quite strong Braxton Hicks last night and hoped that was the start of things ... but no!

Rrray - hope today is a better one for you! Hope you mananged a bit of sleep over night!

Hangin their ladies I got a feeling we are suddenly going to have an influx of little bambino's arriving!!!!!

Went to Tesco's last night (must be mad woman) - to do a final stock up of groceries and got shoved, pushed and knocked into by people and trollies - helloooo can these people not see that i am very heavily pregnant.... was not very fun - so will make that my last shopping outing!

Chefswife - good luck with the breastfeeding!

fymandbean · 06/01/2009 07:34

full moon due on Jan 11th - maybe thats what all the babies are waiting for!

fourlittlefeet · 06/01/2009 08:15

morning all

can't believe I went through it all again last night - getting ridiculous! Was woken again this morning at 4.30 with regular pains (its more in my back than in the fanjo; maybe thats the issue?)

Anyway have dispatched DD to nursery and Mum and DP to work so am off back to bed to enjoy the twinges.

I wonder if its like the nun/periods thing and we'll suddenly all pop together on the 11th!

Periwink · 06/01/2009 08:19

11th Jan .... I will have exploded by then!!!!

fourlittlefeet · 06/01/2009 08:22

lol. I know how you feel...and I'm not even due until next friday FGS!!!

fymandbean · 06/01/2009 08:26

hah - just realised I'm now officially 'term' (37 wks) as of midnight tonight so can have my home birth!!!

I'm with you ladies on the twinges, it just seems absurd i can be in this much discomfort and labour not start! I toss and turn alot during the night with pains and now i have the FANTASTIC lower back pain to go with it!

If i do this for the next 3 weeks i will be insane and far too tired to labour.

I think it doea get worse with each one you have, the twinges turn in to something painful and i have genuinly been caught out thinking labour was BH twice now! Both times i had a baby withing a few hours... it makes it so confusing.

Am off to plod the school run now to see if it does anything. I doubt it though

Gah!!!

Oh FLF what a trial. Hope you are making up for it with some rest now.

Bubs dancing lots this morning. Off to MW and then for monitoring after but looks like everything ok, just had a quiet day yesterday so be back later. Hardly slept last night for worrying but DH not all that busy today so hopefully might get a nap later.

Can I join the waiting list for the 11th please? That would be grand.

we do seem to be the twinge society. Who knew late preg could be like this? I feel kind of enriched by the experience.

Just taken ds to nursery, and of course he's a bit clingy because of the break over christmas (and he must pick up on the slightly odd anticipation at home, mustn't he?) so he cried when I left. And I managed to hold it together til I got out of the door but couldn't stop sobbing after that. not sure what I feel teary about, I know he'll be fine and having a great time by now.
Now listening to Prince in an effort to perk myself up..

Cold as a frog's armpit here but beautiful sunshine and blue sky. hope you all have a lovely day! I am going to be LAZY

moosemama · 06/01/2009 09:43

Morning

flf was sure I was logging on for an announcement this morning.

Just got back from an absolutely treacherous school run. All the pavements were compacted snow and ice and we were running late! DH came too, but I wanted to be with DS2 on his first day back and it was lucky I was, because they took them all in the Juniors entrance as the playground was so dangerous and he would have been really upset if I hadn't been there to hand him over.

DS2 slipped once and I had to pull him up by his arm - boy did that hurt, then on the way home I slipped and was rescued by DH! Could this be an interesting new way of inducing labour I wonder?

Ended up propped on the sofa with a million pillows and cushions last night as pain in pubic bone was so bad I literally couldn't move without crying. Did get 'some' sleep, but woke up in the middle of the night with the most horrendous pains all down one side of my bump, like proper sharp cramp you get in your calf muscles, it was agony and nothing seemed to soothe it.

Having a lot of pressure in the rear 'iykwim' and a fair amount of pretty uncomfortable cramping low down in front, plus pubic pain is absolutely awful, worse now I've been stupid enough to slip walk to school and back. Still don't feel like anything is likely to happen soon though.

Crikey it's quiet in this house now. Am quite tearful without the boys. Think its worse as DS2 was with me for the end of November and all of December 24/7.

My Mum is very into all things alternative (think Edina from Ab Fab! ) and funnily enough she was telling me just yesterday that there is always a cluster of births around the new moon. I'll be happy if mine arrives on the 11th as it will save me from induction on the 15th.

(Mind you she also told me she has got one of her psychic friends to talk to my baby and tell her its time to be born!)

moosemama · 06/01/2009 09:47

Spink love that phrase 'cold as a frog's armpit!' not heard it before!

Prince! I was Prince's biggest fan when I was a teenager - even dressed like him, had the hair and everything. I never think of listening to him now I'm a wrinkly though! (I lost interest in his stuff at around the time of all the 'symbol' business.)

books. get yourself on the spinning babies website; even if you can't do much it feels like you are preparing to get it in the right place!

I too am impressed with Spink's turn of phrase... very appropriate.

Off back to hospital to see the midwife who is going to let me have an unmedicalised vbac and write in my notes (had to fight them off last night when they tried to put a cannula in, after today it will be written in my notes not to do it! woohoo!). Hope it helps .

stripeywoollenhat · 06/01/2009 10:37

books

pretty miserable chez stripey this morning - a lousy night's sleep had by all, and even the cats seem grumpy. bump aching horribly, think it's the bhs, god knows what labour's going to be like if i can't even handle those... moose, i hope that all the discomfort is a sign of imminent arrival. flf, rubbish for you, hope it either settles down or turns into something proper for you soon. lenni, glad to hear about dancing bub.

right, will take my miserable self away and stop complaining now

fymandbean · 06/01/2009 10:47

just been to the doc's to confirm my bp is back to normal - and its up again

also a little protein so off to day assessment at the hospital.....

fourlittlefeet · 06/01/2009 11:05

oh fym, fingers crossed its all ok. try to relax and think of nice things as the stress is enough to make it rocket! with pre-eclampsia last time round I bought a home monitor and it was usually 20 points down on what they got at the surgery as just walking through the door made me so worried!

treedelivery · 06/01/2009 11:22

Now THATS a busy morning!!

Good luck fym - I really hope it setles and you can escape the place.

Moose - would they bring your induction forward if the spd steps up a notch, though I dunno you might hate that. It must be so awful for you though

Can't remember who said it about bh in 2/3/4///pregnancies but it helped me see why I'm stressing at all the niggles. Itt's becasue I'm so expecting a quicker time, that I think I am a bit worried it will arrive with a bang and be hectic!! Ah yes it was large G an T - eureka moment thank you!

With dd1 I was fully expecting a 3 day flogging so was very unimpressed with any niggles. SO I am more of a scardy pants this time. er....ace! great..yeah...

Books - gutted for you mate! But really honestly its really possible to go into labour with a free head adn then it just whooshes through with the contractions, thats a 'multip' thing. I dunno your care in's and out's though so wont put my huge feet in it but am happy to if you wanna gossip!!
