corgi - I am sure you can get Lansinoh in Boots - and John Lewis and also Mothercare!

Very that you can still even contemplate wearing 3 inch heels - my heels are all tempting me from eth depths of the cupboard - but I just don't think I could get my feet in them.

Talking of shoes - just bought dd's first proper shoes - £30 !!!

Slickbird · 29/01/2009 18:48

Heels - Ha ha ha ha ha ha What are they??

Oooh, me to Meep! Wonder if we were in the shop at the same time and didn't know it! DD2 went radio rental when they tried to measure her feet tho! (I think she thought they were going to give her an injection as she'd had her MMR the previous week!)

meep · 29/01/2009 19:12

there was a mum in the shop at the same time - with 2 dd's - but not one the same age as your dd2 - but that would have been funny!

dd loves loves loves shoes - she sits very still and concentrates very very hard while they measure her feet - then runs around gleefully when she gets her shoes! This is our third attempt at buying them - she has super teeny narrow feet - hence the super not so teeny price tag!

We had the MMR done ages ago so the memmory has faded - though I think I traumatised her more by sticking a chocolate button in her mouth as they gave her the jab - maybe I've put her off chocolate for life...........ha ha ha!

Slickbird · 29/01/2009 20:54

I wonder if that would work on me....?

Cherrybaby · 29/01/2009 21:39

Emma2617 ....New manchester mummy (like me!), where are you, and how are things going?!

babyinbelly · 29/01/2009 22:48

Lizzie Thanks for the links. I found some in boots today but was a bit shocked that they are £5!

Millie I got some bibs, a bedding set - which was a real bargin, a soft arch play thing, a mirror to go inside the cot and a pack of baby vest.

Also got dirt cheap pants for DS.

I have no idea where the baby will sleep. Cot is up in DS room. Moses basket in our room and also have 2nd moses basket which will probably come downstairs so have lots of options. Planning on having in our room at night so I don't have to move so far!

Emma get some internet access we miss you!

laweaselmys · 30/01/2009 09:29

Oh poo. This is not a good day, Ofstead didn't actually turn up yesterday so now am again expecting them this afternoon. One of the house's on our streets burglar alarm has been going off repetitively since five am, and have just had a knock on the door from a woman whose car my DP apparently drove into!!

He left a note and I guess the insurance will cover it, but frankly this is not the start to the day I was hoping for.

twocutedarlings · 30/01/2009 11:11

Morning Girls

Well i am sat waiting for MW, dont know why but i feel nervious!!! alsorts of Qs running around im my head, for some reason i have been up all night think that baby is breech .

goldmother2b · 30/01/2009 13:46

laweasel what a terrible start to your day - I hope it has improved!

twocute I hope your MW has reassured you and that baby is facing the right direction.

I've had my first really relaxing day since starting maternity leave - lie in followed by long bath, then a bit of lunch, and plan to watch a few episodes of CSI NY and ER that I have V+ed this afternoon. I may also put together a play mat for baby - bought some lovely farm animal print fabric from ebay, and picked up some red and white polkadot fabric and some quilting material yesterday - just depends on whether I can work up the effort to drag my sewing machine downstairs!

twocutedarlings · 30/01/2009 14:32

MW Just left, she was here for almost 2 hours dont think she had much on this PM, so it was fab to sit and have a good chat .

Well baby is head down!!! phew!! (dont even know why i got in a tizzy about it) not yet engaged, but is only just sitting outside of my pelvis, im going to get DH to blow up the birth ball tonight and i will start bouncing on that now that i know he is the right way up. Im am now measuring 2 weeks ahead of my dates (39wks) but this is all within the normal range - so tis all ok

Oh and i have the home birth kit!!!! YAY!! im just off now to nose at what in it .

MKG · 30/01/2009 15:28

twocute--glad your appointment went well.

Well ladies it has hit me. The third Trimester exhaustion. Yesterday I was at work and had no ambition to do anything. I'm having trouble getting out of bed and all I want to do is sleep. That coupled with funky hormones had me crying while I washed dishes yesterday afternoon. I'm hoping for a better day today, but I remember this cycle. First the exhaustion for a few weeks, then a burst of energy for a couple weeks, then exhaustion, and then D-day.

I had a nice hot bath last night and I don't care if it makes my eczema flare up, because it was relaxing.

5.5 more weeks. 5.5 more weeks. 5.5 more weeks.

Hi All

34 weeks today here and just had MW check - all fine, so reached another mile stone. Every time I see someone I am petrified my BP will be up and they'll whisk me in and whisk the baby out. I think I really will do my bag this week so that at least by 35 weeks if it happens I'll be ready and by then the baby will be ready ! Am not seeing anyone until 36 weeks though so fingers crossed ....

Baby is head down but floating here too !

That said, I did buy some essentials for my hospital bag today - travel size goodies from Molton Brown and a new wash bag. I dont' have nappies or maternity pads but at least i have nice toiletries .

MKG - Am with you on the exhaustion thing. Didn't have it last time at all but people are telling me how tired I look...

Law - hope Ofsted went ok and that things with the car are ok.

Ooooh, I'm not sure about this new look MN! I didn't know where the hell to go! Only just managed to find you all. Oh well, I guess I'll get used to it. Funny, I didn't realise I was attached to the old one!

Why do 16 month old's INSIST on climbing all over your bump?? Phew! Especially after tea when I have stuffed my face with tuna pasta and am having braxton hicks? No other part of my body or room would do. [Hmm]

Happy Friday Y'all!

4 weeks to go!

Slickbird · 30/01/2009 19:55
Hmm
Slickbird · 30/01/2009 19:56

Just realised that the smileys are case sensitive!

lizziemun · 30/01/2009 19:57

ThePgHedgeWitchIsCrankyBeware

yes i think it about 7oz a weeks.

Mind you i haven't measured big for either of my 2 previous pg and dd1 was 9lb 4oz and dd2 was 9lb 2oz so i'm thinking it will be at least 9lb (oh joy).

MKG I agree with the exhustion thing although with me i not sure if it because i'm pg or because i can not sleep because i've had so much on my mind this week.

What with dd1 family party last sunday, her birthday on tuesday and Dad funeral on thursday and tomorrow a party for her freinds.

rubyring · 30/01/2009 20:04

Yes I am a bit thrown by the new look too! Am coming up to 33 wks on monday, had bit of a scare earlier in week had to be monitored in hospital as i thought I was having contractions - lots of period type pains from lower abdomen stretching around back, but all is fine, think i am just knackered out, what with two dd's age 3.5yrs and 17 mths! this one's a boy, maybe that's why it feels different...i like reading everyone's posts, have becme most addicted to mumsnet lately, especially when pregnancy insomnia strikes at 4 a.m! Anyway, not too long for us all now, eh!

MKG · 30/01/2009 20:26

My vagina hurts. only on the left side. I think it's a bone.

OP posts:
twocutedarlings · 30/01/2009 21:34

Sorry to hear about your vagina MKG i know i shouldnt LOL at you!! but your post has just made me PMSL!!

Is one of your bones or DDs?

Slickbird · 30/01/2009 22:23

Lol MKG and Twocute. Me too if it's any consolation! I had the pleasure of taking a hefty boot in my colon the other night and I said to DH - "Have you any idea what it's like to get your ass kicked inside AND out??!'

Hey Rubyring, glad it didn't manifest into anything early for you. I'm still getting lots of BH and with all the stress this week, I'm feeling the strain.

Now that the initial shock is starting to pass, I'm starting to think of all the stuff that needs doing, insurance paper work, finding new car, finding another car seat, sorting the remortgage, new road tax, hospital appointments next week, no car to do it all, crap weather coming in.....

All I want to be doing is washing baby boy clothes, moses basket stuff and waiting to give birth!!!!!

laumiere · 30/01/2009 22:30

Evening ladies!

Having a bit of a panic here - midwife is concerned as I have a family history of silent labours (and DS was one) that I won't get to the hospital in time and is now suggesting a homebirth. I live literally a 5 min drive from the hospital but they said to work on the assumption I'd have DS2 within the hour of actually feeling some contractions, and I need to be able to GET to the hospital, have someone get to my house in time to see to my toddler etc.

Is almost 35 weeks too late to organise anything? Seeing as DS1 was born 9 weeks early I'd never even considered a homebirth to be honest, as I was far too high risk. I'm a bit scared about the whole thing. I delivered DS1 with no complications or pain relief but still, he was only 4lb 6!

lizziemun · 31/01/2009 07:05

Laumiere

I had a silent labour with dd1 at 39 weeks. But dd2 was forced out induced at 41+1 day.

So you may be ok, my midwife wasn't concern last or this time even though DH is at least 1 hour away if at work.

meep · 31/01/2009 08:06

silent labour - that sounds lovely if a little scary about getting to hospital - laumiere I don't know anything about homebirths but surely your MW can help you organise? Someone on here must know more about it.

Though if you are only 5 mins for hospital surely you will be okay? Have you got neighbours/family nearby? Try not to worry (I know - easier said than done)!

I only just remebered to tell my folks that they had to NOT go on holiday around the 23rd March as dd might need some looking after! DH has only just properly realised that I will be in hospital for 3 nights and he is going to have to deal with feeding dd (that is the only hard bit )!

I am now anaemic (thought so - have been bl**dy knackered) and all my dh could say was "you should eat more fruit & veg" this is coming from the man that won't go into the kitchen if there are bananas in the fruit bowl.

So it's black poos for me again !

MKG lol at your vagina - sympathy also though!

If I sit for too long (like at work) then stand up I honestly feel like mty pelvis is going to crack open. The guy who sits next to me looks visibly worried as I actually can't not gasp with the pain when I do stand up. It eases off once I start walking though.

slick my dd also likes to climg on my bump - or use it as a drum! But if I ask her where the baby is she lifts up my top and gives the bump a kisss which makes up for it.

wheelybug - Molton Brown travel size stuff - ooooooo - I want some - I may have to get some for my hospital bag - mmmmmm!

firstduemarch09 · 31/01/2009 08:23

Morning all!

Another early wakening! Just finished reading the "Blokes Guide to Pregnancy" that I bought for DH. Was good and the right amount of humour so managed to read right to the end, the first pregnancy book, I've acheived that with.

Been catching up the last few days of MN.
Slickbird was shocked by your story. Glad everything was ok.

Boobz Loved your nursery and the lights look great.

We've just about finished the nursery, except putting a clock up (thought I might want to know what hour of the morning, I was awake at!) and have a pile of the baby clothes washing still to do. Have uploaded them to my member pages. The room was already blue - we're having a surprise - and I wasn't going to redecorate it! If it's a girl - do you think she'll mind?

the best thing about having the nursery done is just peeking inside the room several times a day - it gives me a warm fuzzy, and slightly real feeling!

Have a nice Saturday!
