OK, it's way too early to test yet, and I'm probably tempting fate here, but I've got classic morning sickness, the dates are just about right, and I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant. And I've always wanted to start one of these due in threads .

And if the blue line winks at me in 10 days time, then I'll come clean and post under my real nickname.

Any one else?

Hello, just a quick update. I've not been on for ages, as I'm feeling so sick and tired I've been sleeping when my dd has her nap instead of going on computer.

I had my scan (nearly didn't get it when I got there - long NHS cock-up story), anyway saw the heartbeat which was a reassurance. I've booked a private one now for 12 weeks, as I can't get another here until 20wks.

I haven't read through the amazingly grown board, but good luck to all having scans etc.

My stats to update:

30
Married 4 years
dh 38
dd 2 (3 in July)
missed m/c in Nov
3rd pregnancy

very quiet here today

george32 · 28/04/2005 10:30

It is quiet.
Any news Sweetheart?

I booked a private scan for 12 wks last time as we only get 20 wk ones in my area (obviously didn't need it in the end. I called up the people who do the nucheal scans and said I would like to pay for one without having the nucheal tests done. Was going to cost me £100.
Going to go to the docs tomorrow & find out how easy it will be for me to get an early one this time. Should be OK as the EPU said to call them direct if I wanted one when I got p/g again. Fingers crossed.
Hope everyone else is OK today.

scully · 28/04/2005 10:33

I think sweetheart is at home today, so no computer.

MINNIE1 · 28/04/2005 11:10

george32,
In my local hospital it is 20wks to!!! its madness.. So we have decided to go 25 miles to another where i can have an early one.. After a mc i want an early one to be on the safe side. All we want is a scan and it takes ages to get one!! We should kidnap a midwife and a doc and demand a scan..(Get in line girls)

How are all the ladies today?? I really dont feel all that pg at all does anyone eles feel like this??

george32 · 28/04/2005 11:44

PMSl @ Minnie kidnapping the midwife for a scan.
I'm at a similar stage to you Minnie & I'm not suffering too many effects of p/g so far. Bloating and tiredness is about all so far. Guess things might start to get a bit worse from about 6 weeks onwards.
When are you having your first scan then Minnie?

scully · 28/04/2005 11:50

I'm almost 7 wks, no major symptons yet, not everyone does though. Have 2 friends due in June and they have both had great pregnancies, from the start.
Don't know about early scans in Surrey, crossed fingers I can wait until 10/11 wks and have the nuchal fold one.

MINNIE1 · 28/04/2005 11:56

george32,
The doctor said she would request one for me and if i was not happy with that to ring the unit and ask for a scan ASAP. But i would like to have one and 6-7 weeks and one again at 12.
I am bloated (in the evenings i look 4 moths!!) and the tiredness is kinda there and waking at night is starting.. Have to drive for 3 hours tommor aghhhh with my sis and partners sis, and they have no idea i pg.. Hope i can keep the secret.

kangel · 28/04/2005 12:12

I am 7.5 weeks and feel terrible! Never again, I feel like i've been hit by a bus!! No energy wot so ever!!

Someone had chips for lunch yesterday in the office so I craved chips all day! Made hubby drive past chip shop on way home from work to get some. Mmmmm had chip, had so much to do last night managed to put on some washing before throwing the whole lot back up and going to bed. Am off chips now and got nothing done!!

Re: early scans.... I had an emergency one at 5 weeks and 6 weeks due to bleeding, I went via a&e at Kings College

scully · 28/04/2005 12:51

Awful thing to go off chips! I'm waiting for the tiredness to appear, remember that from last time. Although I think this time my dd and daily 3 hr commute won't help matters!

kangel · 28/04/2005 13:18

Someone else in the office has just walked in chips! Urggghhhhhh!!! The smell!!!

Yeah tiredness has kicked in, walking up flights of stairs is a killer at the moment, I feel so unfit. Am waking up all through the night too so I guess that doesn't help!

Can't moan, at least this is my first! Although we do have my hubbys little girl stay with us week on week off but at least I get a weeks rest in between and hubby is being great.

Shouldn't moan, its a small price to pay for the end result!!!

golds · 28/04/2005 13:44

Ive got my scan tomorrow, do you think I may not see anything again ? or will I definately see something this time. By my first lot of dates I would be approaching 8 weeks now, although when I went for my scan (I thought I was 6wks) she said I was more than likely less than that, maybe 5. In which case instead of being nearly 8, I will be nearly 7. Don't want to get my hopes up just incase there is still nothing to see.

golds · 28/04/2005 13:46

Oh my word, what a load of waffle I just wrote, wouldn't be suprised if none of you understood what I was going on about. I don't think I did

Pregnancy brain

george32 · 28/04/2005 14:30

Hmmm.....think you lost me somewhere between 5 weeks and 8!!
Are you having an internal scan? Think they give a better image in the early stages. Good luck to you for tomorrow.
Kangal, sorry about the chips thing, a dreadful shame!! Hope you are still on chocolate though
Minnie, so glad it's not just me who looks several months gone already. Dreading the hot weather when I have to take my baggy jumper off - how do I hide then?? Scully, you are so lucky not to have the dreaded bloating!!

kangel · 28/04/2005 14:32

That happened to me, I had my first scan at what my dates suggested 6 weeks. They done it from the top and we just saw an empty sac. I convinced myself that I had lost it. According to the docs I was only 5 weeks (I still don't believe that as I know the exact day that I ovulated) Anyway I had to go back a week later and again from the top there was yet again an empty sac but bigger! They done an internal scan and there on the screen was my bean with a beating heart - Me and hubby both cried. That was at 6 weeks ( I think 7).

I'm sure you'll be fine but I know how you feel, I'm sure you'll see something this time. Make sure its an internal scan as they are so small at this stage that they don't show on a normal external scan. Was it an internal you had last time?

Don't forget to get photos!

kangel · 28/04/2005 14:36

George32: No am off chocolate full stop!! Haven't eaten any for over a month!!!! No way I can face that.

NotTellingYet · 28/04/2005 14:49

Does anyone know how much you're likely to be showing by 15 weeks (2nd PG)? Have just realised that the outfit I bought pre PG for a wedding we're going too at the end of next month may not fit by the time I need to wear it. Fortunately it's actually a little too big at the moment if anything, thanks to losing a bit of weight since buying it, so perhaps there's still hope.

dramaqueen72 · 28/04/2005 14:57

hey ladies was feeling VERY sick this morning, but coped with school run and then ate bread and cheesy kettle chips...aha! found something that will 'ease' it somewhat. fact i smell of cheese kettle chips is another matter....
absolutely devastated yesterday for no reason, cried and cried dh terrified around me today bless him. can agree on the tiredness, woah i'm tried, and the bloating/tummy size. by the evening i am huge!
golds, must be my pg brain too but i understood you perfectly. yes you should indeed see something on a 'usual' sized baby at that stage. however, i wonder if with two they will be smaller? hmmmmm, anyway, as with all the other ladies here i say ask for an internal scan, the other scans just dont show anything LIKE an internal scan, and its not awful or anything.
i am five 5 today (5wks 5days i mean) and starting to feel rough. hate feeling so but secretly delighted, as -for me- it means its following the pg of both dd who made me sooooooo sick!
sweetheart, you neeeeeeeeed computer internet at home, i'm going mad waiting so long for your news!
8days til my scan!!! wohoo!

Nemo1977 · 28/04/2005 15:02

hi all wow loads going on today and sooo much talk of scans...am so miffed ive not been given an early scan just with history of 3mcs etc...

take care all

dramaqueen72 · 28/04/2005 15:02

NTY, hm, the more pg you ahve the quicker you show, so i dont know you 'might' get away with it, thing is you tend to change shape all over dont you? rather than just get a belly -boobs, bum, waist, all go to pot....or is that just me? LOL
kangel, am still liking chocolate, but finding it tastes really rich, cannot eat whole bar in one sitting! which is SO not like me.
cannot bear (and making me gagg); tea, coffee, cooked cold egg (like in sandwiches), cheese, milk, left overs, bits of food children have left in sink after lunch boxes,...oh blurgggggggggghhhhh.....

ChaCha · 28/04/2005 17:20

HI Drama, we spoke about private scans a while back. I just received an invoice. The two consultations and scans i have had recently with my obstetrician totalled £150. So it must be around £75 per scan. With that of course, we have a good chat to the doctor etc..
