Haha...yeah..I have wasted almost the whole day at work reading the entire thread!! It is all a conspiracy!

laweaselmys · 19/09/2008 17:40

bloods are back. All clear. (Thankfully!)

Hopefully this will be my big pregnancy incident, and the rest will be beautifully uneventful!

emma2617 · 19/09/2008 22:05

OH MY GOD I just heard bambinos heartbeat so happy!! D P is out for the night so I thought I would get doppler out in the add break of ugly Betty...and wow! I am on cloud 9

Littlemisskiwi · 20/09/2008 05:20

Hi ladies

Please add me to the list. I'm due 15 March. First baby. I'm 31.

can someone explain all the abbreviations? DH, DP, DD, Ds/ what's it all mean?

I've gained about 1/2 a stone despite pretty bad m/s (including one hospitalisation for mild hypermesis g), have a bump and huge boobs that have gone up to an E cup and started producing colostrum at week 9!

I've been through desperation, misery, disbelief. I live in New Zealand and my family are all in the UK. Hubbie is here but i do feel a bit alone...

Loving having found mumsnet

meep · 20/09/2008 09:46

welcome littlemisskiwi! Where about in NZ do you live? My dh (husband) is a kiwi but I keeping him in Scotland for now!

Abbreviations:

DH = darling husband
DP = darling partner
DD = darling daughter
DS = darling sone

have a look here for the complete list!

laweaselmys glad everything is okay - saw your thread when I was at work (so couldn't post) - what a fright!

laweaselmys · 20/09/2008 10:42

I'm from NZ too - Dunedin. I keep seeing ads for NZ on TV and wistfully going, oh, I have to take the baby there when they're bigger!!

meep · 20/09/2008 10:58

DH went to uni in Dunedin - I've yet to go there to see the NZ version of Edinburgh castle !

NZ...........tis a lovely place! if I didn't have such close family here I would be over there in a shot (if I could get my terrified dh on the plane!)

MKG · 20/09/2008 16:41

Hello everyone.

Nothing new to report, just tired, and waiting for Tuesday, which is my next appointment. This is the only time I have to see an OB/GYN, and I'm excited to get it over with.

SquiffyHock · 20/09/2008 16:44

Hi all, I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today . The weather has been so beautiful and all I've wanted to do is sleep. DH has played with the children all day and I've worried how I'm going to manage with 3. Am hoping it's still morning sickness not just how I'm going to feel for ever and ever!!

Sorry to moan, just really sick of feeling like this.

Slickbird · 20/09/2008 17:20

Blimey - Lots to repond to!

Laweas - I'm glad you're ok!! Not everyday you actually get hit by a bus (as in; 'I mean, tomorrow, I could get hit by a bus...etc etc). That must have been scary. Glad you and bambino are ok.

RE: LEMSIP for all those with colds (that's me EVERY single saturday at the moment - am too run down) I spoke to my friend who has been a midwife for 12 years and she told me Lemsip was fine. She is a very good midwife, but obviously it's up to the individual whether they want to or not. I was desperate last weekend for one as my baby was turning 1 and I had thirty people coming and was full of the cold. I necked one and then let adrenanline do the rest!

Meep - Still keeping my fingers crossed for you and Mandy, still thinking of you.

Corgi, am so pleased your parents have come round, it can make you feel so much happier about the pregnancy and really start to enjoy the prospect. Happy days!!

Mumoverseas - Thanks for your support on the other thread! I mean, really! What was she like?? Totally over the top don't you think? I wasn't upset, just angry that she was being such a supersillious arse! Some people take themselves far too seriously and I thought your latter suggestion was spot on!

laweaselmys · 20/09/2008 19:03

really meep! Ha ha, he probably knows my parents, they both went there and the six degrees of seperation seems to be more like two in New Zealand!

babyinbelly · 20/09/2008 21:05

Hey all. Just thought I would report, I had another scan yesterday (sorry to anyone who hasn't had first yet!) It was amazing. Cant believe how much the bean has changed. Not even a bean anymore. You can see these amazing long legs and its spine. Liver, kidneys, heart, lens of the eye. In fact pretty much everything except sex!

Unfortunatly DP has decide that he wants it to be a surprise so we will not be finding out until its arrival. That also means if its a girl it will have to put up with somewhat boyish clothes for a few weeks intil I can start some serious girly shopping!

emma2617 · 20/09/2008 23:03

Baby how did you gets scan at 16 weeks?! Dead jealous!!!!

Littlemisskiwi · 21/09/2008 07:03

Hi

Meep - thanks for your reply and link to the abbreviations.

SquiffyHock - I feel the same and I don't have other children to look after!
I had a day without any nausea today (yay, but there are still 3 waking hours left...!)only to be completely floored by total exhaustion, a bit of a headache, dizzyness and apathy. Is that common?

Why do I seem to have so many ailments? Any why am I so hard on myself when I feel ill.

SquiffyHock · 21/09/2008 07:40

Littlemiss - I'm think it was abot 15 / 16 weeks before I felt totally normal in my last pregnancies, I'm just hoping this will be the same. I just have to keep reminding myself that I feel loads better than I did a few weeks ago. I have a friend who is 15 weeks with severe hypremisis so I can't complain.

How long have you been in NZ? DO they have the NCT there? Try not to worry about being lonely, you will be amazed at how quickly you will meet people with a baby. When I had my first DH and I moved (only from London to Kent!!) but we didn't have any family nearby.
It can be hard but then some people are tearing their hair out with interfering in-laws!! DS is 4 now and I have some very good friends. Hope you feel better soon

babyinbelly · 21/09/2008 14:41

emma DP had a brother that was born with something called potters syndrome. It was not picked up during pregnancy and he died a few hours after being born as a result.

It is apparently a kidney problem so got a 16 week scan to make sure they had developed properly.

All was fine tho so that is excellent news!

kat80 · 21/09/2008 15:53

hi everyone, i have only just realised that a new post has been started! i've been rubbish at posting but have enjoyed reading everyone elses! how is everyone feeling? i am at the stage where i just feel so fat!! my clothes dont fit and maternity clothes are still too big, but my face has almost doubled in size (or so i think)!
Slick, just to let u know i think as i'm empoyed by my company on a fixed years contract i'm entitled to matenity leave etc, well at least the 90% pay for 6 weeks, as i will still be officially within my years contract, so it may be worth checking for you too as i seem to remember we were in similar positions!!

SpookyMadMummy · 21/09/2008 20:14

Hi Ladies, just checking in.
Starting to get a bit uncomfortable just sitting atm, and I am still really tired. Feel like I could sleep for a week!! Not a chance though!
I eve got Dh to do the supermarket shop today, even after 2 hours sleep I was too tired to go..

AnathemaDevice · 21/09/2008 21:24

Glad the exteme tiredness is normal, and just isn't me being lazy! I got up at 10 today, had breakfast and went back to bed for a couple of hours. Only 2 1/2 months til maternity leave and lie ins every day...

emma2617 · 22/09/2008 09:05

baby Okay, so I am not jealous of the extra worry you must have had....glad all went well though!! Thats another hurdle cleared!

anathema you really arent alone with the tiredness...I was hoping it would go as I reached 12 weeks....instead it just changed! Up to 12 (ish) weeks I couldnt make it through the day and had to nap on my lunch but then I was okay. Now I Struggle to function throughout the day, but am not tired enough to nap at lunch, then when I get home I collapse in a heap on the sofa and that is where I stay until I go to bed!! I am just no use to anyone really!!

Is anyone else suffering a serious lack of attention span?! I feel like I have the attention span of a gnat...not very productive for working!!!

DP bought a baby names book yesterday, and already my name choices are in turmoil!! I now really like Mason for a boy...it's not too american is it?!

emma2617 · 22/09/2008 10:31

Sorry....I realise I am going post crazy here, as there is no-one else around!! But I am so happy! After my mum and dad just being in shock about me being pregnant, and my godparents being pretty inconsiderate (although partially mitigated!) and no-one else really to talk to...I finally have signs of excitement about bambino!!

My sister has just emailed me and told me something...which I am not allowed to tell my mum i know as it is meant to be a secret...but ever since I told her about bambino when she does her weekly shop at tesco she has been buying a couple of baby things...baby wipes, sudocreme, nappy sacks etc...so that when bambino arrives in march she will have a massive hamper of all the practical things to give me! I could actually cry I am so happy

Mandy73 · 22/09/2008 11:41

Hi there,

Hope everyone's OK.

We're just trying to hold it together for the next 8-9 days until I've had the AFT + results.
Almost managed to convince myself I'm not really PG any more.
Glass half empty person? Oh yes.

TantiK · 22/09/2008 12:02

Mandy - glad you are keeping things together, stay positive.

Emma - it's great that your mum is doing these things for you. My mum forgot i was pg yesterday when she was out baby shopping for my SIL who is 5 months pg!! But they live in Australia so I think we will get more presents overall!!

laweasel - glad you are and bump are okay, must be such a relief. Try to keep an eye out for buses now for the rest of your pg!

Welcome littlemisskiwi - I'm also away from home, although I have my in-laws around it really isn't the same as your own mum! Once you have a baby you will meet loads of people! The best thing I did (in uk) was go to the NCT classes with my first.

Kat80 - i am so with you on the clothes thing. My normal ones are too tight and my maternity ones are way too big. I think I was bigger before my first pg though than I was before this one...so I'm not holding out much hope for my maternity jeans ever fitting me!!! Oh well. Just means I'll have to buy the seraphine ones!

I have just eaten the HUGEST lunch...some chilli chicken wraps - but i ate two of them, and most of it was chicken. I don't think I can move now. I am so glad that I have this pg as an excuse for all this eating! I'm feeling much more normal now and don't necessarily NEED to eat every two hours (but I do!) but am still feeling pretty tired and guilty about not having done any exercise for that active birth that I am aiming for!!
