Hi everyone - just a wee update. Had an appointment with the consultant today and me and dh have decided to wait 3 weeks and then have an amnio.
So - like Mandy, i'm still hanging in there!

Meep--I hope you are doing ok. I do not envy your next couple of weeks waiting for the amnio, and then waiting for the results.

Pumpkinseeds-What is your due date? We can't add you to our list without the info.

I hope all goes well for you, Meep. I had a 1 in 58 result, but we have decided not to have the amnio. We ARE having a fetal cardiac scan at 20 weeks though as ds1 had serious heart defects. These tests are so worrying, aren't they. Good luck.

MKG - sorry, my due date is 16 March, I'm 43 and this is baby number 4. I'm glad you offered to add me - I'd probably lose the whole thing!

Hi - I thought I'd already asked to join on the previous thread - but then I did blabber on about my 12 week scan and CVS experience. Anyway, I am due 17th March with my second - I also have a 5.5 year old DD. Luckily my MS is finally easing too.

OOh, hot air balloons. I don't know anything about being pregnant but they are great fun. Used to live near Bristol when I was little and their festival is great, used to go every year and one year we met Timmy Mallet - I was well impressed.

Not given any thought to when i am going to levae work - but as I need to put something in writing in a couple of months I suppose I ought to. I imagine it will all come down to how long i can afford to be off work - maternity pay just doesn't seem enough when I am the main bill payer!

Oh and love the cape idea - will definitely be looking into that. I now have nice new maternity trousers for work (delivered today) - so no need to worry about bursting out of them at work any more. Thank goodness - could have been very embarassing.

Welcome pumpkinseeds! And don't worry about interrupting conflabs as we are all as random as each other and it would go totally unnoticed!

Re: Hot Air Balloons - I would love to go up in one but I don't think I ever would because I am totally terrified of heights when I think I'm not safe. I turn into a screaming girly wreck! I did once book a paragliding flight for me and DH for his birthday 8 years ago and then I found out I was preggars and had to cancel it> In hindsight this was prob a good idea, but I am def less gung-ho since having kids - I think the old sense of mortality kicked in. I think I will leave all that sort of stuff until I'm really old and it won't matter so much if I die. That's if I'm not on a zimmer frame. Which, if this SPD is anything to go by, could be next week.....

I would have thought going in a hot air balloon at 16 weeks was absolutely fine. I can't imagine what risks you'd be taking that might harm the baby (apart from crash landing, but then none of us would ever cross the street if we worried about freak accidents like that all the time).

They advise you not to do it because I think in this day and age it's pretty standard practice to advise all pregnant women not to do anything other than put your feet up for 9 months. They're worried of being sued, so now they've put the disclaimer in, they're covered for any eventuality.

I say go for it. Sounds like it will be a lovely trip.

Hot air balloning sounds fantastic - I've always wanted to try it and wouldn't hesitate to go, even while pregnant. Everyone I know who has tried it raved about it!

Hello all and especially to the new people. I had my first scan on Monday which was amazing (at 12+6). Proved to be an awkward baby though and wouldn't lie properly so they could do the nuchal test - I was sent away to eat chocolate and drink coke. Sugur rush did the trick! Hope being uncooperative is not a sign of things to come! Told my boss today who was very supportive so must start thinking about when to start ML - you all sound very organised!

Hi was very lazy on the other thread- it just got too damn big!

Sickness still around and have been off sick again this week.

Although Boss is useless unsympathetic arse, Occupational health have got involved and informed HR to let me go back to work 3 days a week for the next 2 weeks and not to worry about hitting sales targets

Feel like real pathetic pregnant lady but hey its nice to have someone look out for me to be honest.

DP is unsymapathetc pig too and is buggering off to Magaluf next week for 4 days with the lads cant beleive I gave permission for that

Seeing consultant at 20 week scan to discuss what to do about dermoid Ovarian cyst.
Anyone else got one of them?

Have little bump at the moment and just about out of normal clothes.

Still cant feel baby yet (14 weeks) but I know its early days - felt dd at 18 weeks so hoping it will be a little earlier this time around.

Keep thinking the baby has disappeared, as have not seen it on screen for few weeks and have no other way of knowing if it is still in there

Just to update I did go on the hot air balloon last night and everything was fine. Still can't figure any specific reason not to go but agree it is the fear of getting sued if something did happen. Search the net and couldn't find any info on it at all.

I have an extra scan on tommorrow as DP has some heridetary problem in his family that they need to check for at 16weeks so that should show up if anything happened yesterday.

I haven't felt any movements yet either. Was sure it was earlier last time???

re mat leave I had planned to work right up till March but the bloody company have decided our branch is making no money and are closing us down and paying us off in july 09 so have no idea what will happen to my mat leave no and nobody in hr seems to have a clue either . Wasn't too worried till seen the news last night that the banks merging would mean loads of job cuts and guess who dh works for? yep you guessed it HBOS! So he's away to work to find out if he will still have a job by the time baby appears!

boobz I am full of cold too...caught from inconsiderate people at work who won't stay at home when they are ill!!

I am dead certain I am having a boy! But then I dreamt last night that I had baby early (and baby was a cotton bud...it was a wierd dream!) and after a couple of days of thinking it was a boy, the midwife camt o visit and said "its a girl, I thought you knew"!!! So now I am not so sure!!!

I lvoe these pregnancy dreams...they are hilarious!!!

I think it's a boy. I'm having my dating scan next week (at 15 weeks! ) and I'm half-hoping it's been so delayed that I'll get to find out the sex early and not have to wait until 20 weeks.

Loads of people in my area are due in march the hospital is really busy, and because I work in a primary school I keep meeting mothers with other kids who are due in march. I have told work now, so I'm not paranoid about staying un-bumped as long as possible, and I'm getting really jealous of other people's mini-bumps!! I'm also wondering if any of these mums are on this list...

Would love a girl but pretty convinced it is a boy. Pregnancy just the same as last time and I think it is usually different if sex is different. From what i've heard anyway.

I think I am getting a cold too. Have been sick all morning but just seems to be phlem (sp?) and I now have a really sore throat.

I'm convinced this one is a boy, too. I really don't mind, but he/it seems 'boyish' IYKWIM. Even on the scan he looked like a typical, wriggly male! I'll be very surpised if it turns out to be a girl at 20 weeks!

as you know this is my second and I am pretty certain that I felt the baby last friday.

I had my cotton bag in front of me time, whenI felt a small vibration on my tummy and thniking it was a text msg in my moby i reached for it. No msg. I put it back in my back. The same again happened and no text msg. Straight away I realised that it must have been the little bean.

Defo this first times I felt my dd, was at 20 weeks and the best I could describe it is as a "warm wave in my tummy". Although this time was more like little tremour.

When they get growing I defo felt the kicks from my little madame . The freaky think is when you see the protuberance running from side to side of the tummy...Freaaaaky!

Ah, the joys of feeling the babies!
