Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sunshinesmith

I'm having my 3rd, and my bump is massive.

I was pg with my first over christmas (she was born end of jan).

My advice is get organised as soon as possible. Oh and see if someone else can do dinner.

lizziemun · 20/11/2008 08:15

I wouldn't bother watching birthing videos/dvds as they will bw nothing like the labour you have.

With dd1 i had a silent labour. I had backache for days then on the day (at 39wks) i had her i started bleeding and went straight to hospital as i wasn't having contractions and they where suprised that i was already 9cm and had her a couple of hours later.

with dd2 I was induced at 41+1 and i had her in 4 hours it very intense but again not that painful.

Good Morning ladies!!

Im quite looking forward to being pregnant over xmas as I should have a proper bump by then...yes, I am yet to get that nice rounded bump, but I am a first timer so I guess patience is the key! It will only be the 2nd time my family have seen me since I fell pregnant and it will probably be the last before bambino arrives so I am looking forward to properly introducing them to bump!!! I was pregnant over my birthday as well, so adding xmas and new year to the list just means I miss all my usual drinking opportunitites so all the better for my liver!

As for wriggly babys hedgewitch I whole heartedly agree! Although he still goes someday barely moving...most of the time he is kicking or wriggling around! And he seems to be pplagued by hiccups (I described what felt like my belly twitching to my mum and thats what she said!) either way....its very comforting! I cant believe ill be 25 weeks on saturday!!

Quick SMP/EWC/MATB1 question! - my due date is a saturday so because the weeks in the eyes of the SMP world run sunday to saturday my EWC starts Sunday 1st March. When do I need to have handed in my MATB1...I keep getting confused as they mention 15th week before EWC which to me would be 25th week, but then they mention 26th week?!?! My HR is in another building and not getting back to me...can anyone help me with the date my MATB1 has to be in by?!

emma2617 · 20/11/2008 08:53

sorry...Im due 7th March!

lollipopz · 20/11/2008 10:19

This is No 4 for me and 1st time being pregnant over christmas, well kinda ds was born at 2.30 am on xmas day 06!
DDs are dec and oct, kinda looking forward to it will be and excuse to not do very much at all and let every one else do the organising!
xx

Anyone else's breasts starting to look like something out of a Carry On film? Mine just won't stop growing - my DH has started to refer to them as "funbags" as they are more comedic than sexy now. What on earth's going on? They can't get bigger, surely?

Cripes.

can all those of you who have been visited by the boob fairy please send her my way?! I have yet to be visited and am feeling a little left out!

meep · 20/11/2008 11:03

when I told my dh that I was pregnant again he said "you're not going to get enormous boobs again are you" (he is not a breast man!) and I am now a 36ff/g (sigh!)

Emma - I look like a have a wobbly pillow stuffed down my top - not pretty!

Agree - hand in your MATB1 as soon as you get it - and (if you can) make an appointment with someone in hr to talk through evrything you need to know.

Just got a date in Dec to see the consultant about having an elective section this time round - mw has warned me that they will try very very hardto persuade me to go through trial by labour again. I think if they push me I will blub (seem to be doing that rather a lot these days ).

MKG · 20/11/2008 11:09

Morning everyone! I'm up really early because ds came in our bed and claimed my side for himself leaving me no room. Not to mention the heat is on and the dry air is killing my nose and throat right now.

As far as the boob issue goes. Mine haven't changed too much from the first pregnancy, but nipples are massive and dark. You could land a helicopter on them they are so big.

AmyO · 20/11/2008 11:30

Doh! Sorry MKG should have checked the list! Thanks for the advice and well done on your certificate!

Thanks for all the advice Wheelybug, Lizziemum and Slickbird (hope sinus problems clearing up!), will look into a TENS machine tho was hoping for a water birth ? guess I could use it before getting in the pool! LOL at moo-ing meep! Glad all well after tummy bug scare.

Will definitely NOT be watching any more birthing dvds ? though may have a look at the one you suggested MKG.

Re: boobs, mine are enormous! My bra could double up as a two man tent. DH seems very pleased with them so I guess that?s something!

meep · 20/11/2008 11:52

I can fit one bra cup on my head - and they're going to get even bigger when my milk comes in [sigh again!]

LittleBok · 20/11/2008 12:21

Hi Everyone, can't believe I have only just found this long thread, I'm quite new to Mumsnet.... I'm due 16th March, first pregnancy and found out at 22 week scan that we are having a little boy!

Always concerned about lack of movement, do feel little kicks and flutters but not much during the day at all, more in the evening....

Now I guess we are just countdown to lots of chocolate and food at Christmas and leaving work! Woohoo! Maternity leave starts 20th Feb for me, is that quite late!?!??

Bump - big, comments from people "wow, you still have four months to go" - thanks!

Boobz · 20/11/2008 12:28

Welcome LittleBok! What are your details (age, location) and we can add you to the list.

I have added a new bump photo to my profile to illustrate the boobage point. Am normally a 34B...

More bump photos people!

LittleBok · 20/11/2008 12:29

I am 33yrs and live in London. Having baby at Kingston Hospital, any stories from anyone!??!

meep · 20/11/2008 12:32

Hi Littlebok and welcome!

Boobz - I avoid photos at the moment! But I took a great one of me and dd bump when I went into hospital - so you might get one of me and the bean at some point in March!

emma2617 · 20/11/2008 12:39

ooops...how rude of me! Welcome littlebok....glad you founfd us, our boy numbers need boosting!!!! Glad all is going well!

Wheelybug · 20/11/2008 12:42

Hi All - LittleBok - welcome - I am 33 and also having baby at Kingston, due on 13 March so we could well be there at the same time !! Where do you live, if you don't mind me asking (if you don't want to say that's fine).

Second time for me, I also had dd there and thought they were great. I had a high risk pregnancy (dd didn't grow v. well) and had to be induced early, ending in emergency c-sec. Everyone had so much time for me and two consultants both moved heaven and earth to ensure I could stay at Kingston when their SCBU was full (thankfully in the end dd didn't really need to go in there). So far, I've also had great antenatal care this time.

Great bump piccie - that looks a nice bump. I'll try and do a photo at some point but am ginormous ! I was pretty big with dd even though she was only 4 lbs 9 oz and as this one is currently the right size its no surprise. I am a midget though so don't think that helps.

DD was born in January (due in mid Feb - so similarish to this time) so I've also had a pregnant christmas. We've hosted for 2 years and this year had decided someone was gonig to host us before even finding out I was pg and then with dh not being well its a relief to know we're going to be waited on (hopefully) !!

Good luck with the consultant, Meep - from what I've heard if you want an elective c-sec you just have to be firm about wanting it/ knowing the risks etc.

Right need to dash to pick dd up!!

Wheelybug · 20/11/2008 12:43

Also LOL at fitting bra cups on your head - I have a great picture in my mind of a load of pregnant women sitting round with bras on their head.

Mine have grown, but to about a DD or maybe E but have never got them measured as found some old maternity bras and they seemed to fit. That's terrible really and I should go and get them checked but never seem to get round to it. Oops.

Nice pics - your DS is adorable! I guess the boob issue is what you are used to - am finding these ones a bit of a handful! But I see your point...

jollyjoanne · 20/11/2008 13:44

Love all the photos. I am soo nosey.

In my case the bump is big - but the boobs don't seem to have changed although there was enough of them already (DDish). But may be some more will kick in later on.

I think I am also having a trial labour (the consultant seems to think it will all be fine - targets and all that probably) the midwife is less than sure and I have been left needing to request my surgical records so that at least when I do go into labour I can point out why there may be issues! I would like a natural birth but not at the risk of further damaging my already seriously scarred posterior region. Why can these things not be more straightforward.

I still don't have my MATB1 form, so I think I may need to drop in to the midwife and pick one up asap.

Emma if you go onto the gov info website www.direct.gov.uk/en/Parents/HavingABaby/index.htm there is a whole bit about maternity and if you put your dates in works out when you need to tell work, when you can leave work at the earliest and when your money will run to etc. Its quite useful.

wheresmybump · 21/11/2008 10:00

Just had a look at the pics and boobz still of your bump- still have no bump to show off although my boobs have got massive so i look like i just had a boob job rather than being preg!!!
