Congratulations Rosie FAB news!

rosieposey · 10/09/2008 22:37

Thanks Ive just got back from Asda 24 hours and have purchased some uber cute winnie the pooh stuff in blue ... did hanker a little bit at the pink ballerina pumps but have had far too much fun buying some stuff for him this evening. Thats enough now otherwise there will be nothing left to buy!

onwardandupward · 10/09/2008 22:55

Because we are all, in fact, singing this every single time we click on the thread

(oooh ooooh, la la la dancing queen)

McDreamy · 11/09/2008 07:52

I'm Kim sorry couldn't find the intros thread!

MarkStretch · 11/09/2008 07:52

I had two small glasses of white wine last night, with food, and I have a hangover.

I am Rock and Roll.

Guess who fainted sat down in the middle of a busy Cypriot restaurant . Please tell me you have done something as embarassing!!!!

LittleMissNorty · 11/09/2008 07:59

Just sent a request to join FB group.....I'm GD btw

LittleMissNorty · 11/09/2008 08:03

Blimey McDreamy....you ok? I feel dizzy if I get up too quick as your BP can suddenly drop....is that what happened? Was it the heat? Do you need to see MW?

McDreamy · 11/09/2008 08:07

Yes I'm fine thank you

DH was fab (he is a GP), he put 2 chairs together lowered my head, raised my legs (luckily I had shorts on!!) and I came round very quickly. I think it was a combination of eating a meal (all blood rushes to gut to metabolise your food), the heat, I was probably a little dry (it's so hard to keep up with the fluids out here).

I'm fine now but it was a strange experience, one not to be repeated in public

I really can't wait to move back to UK. Only 7 weeks to go

LittleMissNorty · 11/09/2008 08:10

That's good! Are you coming back for good?

McDreamy · 11/09/2008 08:13

Yes back to the UK next week for a family wedding, return here and then back to the UK for good during the October half term.

nadssss · 11/09/2008 08:20

Rosie ? congratulations! Three girls and now a little boy ? that little boy is going to be loved to distraction! I would love four children (I say, not having had even one yet).

Sleeping dreadfully at the moment ? is whole left side thing is surely not TOO important, is it? The weirdness of the bump getting bigger (and its massive in the evenings ? though no one has stood up for me on the tube yet!) and not being able to lie on my tummy or back.

Still no movement ? ahhhhhh ? is there anything to get the baby going ? apparently lucozade but it tastes so rank.

I?m going to attempt to join the facebook group!

McDreamy · 11/09/2008 08:21

I'm so jealous of you guys with a bump - I don't have anything to show for my 17 weeks of sickness, headaches, fainting

nadssss · 11/09/2008 08:25

mcdreamy - i was totally the same and desperate for the bump to appear (like i am desperate for the kicking to start!)

But it is crazy ? the bump makes sleeping and getting comfy so difficult ? and Icannot believe this is just the beginning ? ahhhhhh!

I really wish my DH could just take over the bump for one weekend every month!

spottyshoes · 11/09/2008 08:56

Morning! I have applied to join FB (initials AP) You should consider yourself honoured as I dont do FB dahrlinks

I feel dizzy everytime I stand up McD, quite scary. I have a MW appt this morning so, coupled with the headaches and nosebleed, I will be interested to see what my bp is.

Lol @ the hangover MS - you really are hardcore

rosieposey · 11/09/2008 08:58

Morning all

Hey nadssss i would only have had 4 with this kind of gap not brave enough to have them all close in age twas bad enough with the three of them lol - i wasnt going to have anymre as was single after divorce for ages but DP as much as he loves my crazy girls is totally made up about having a baby and your right this baby boy is going to be loved to within an inch of his life by his sisters.

McDreamy dont be jealous - i just look fatter atm and probably wont really look preggy till at least 5 to 6 months but its already feeling heavy down there and when i get up to go to the loo i just think 'oh god ive got another 21 weeks of this' arghhh and its only going to get heavier - so make the most of it! Glad your feeling better too - tis a good job your DH was on hand! Just take it easy from now on (i e no housework ;))

dinkystinky · 11/09/2008 08:59

Nadsss - you're fine on your back until at least 20 weeks. After that, left side is best, but you can get away with just propping your right side up a bit on pillows and lying tilted on your back...

Will attempt to join Facebook at some point and join the list - what list is it I have to join?

V excited - off on holiday to US tomorrow for sister-in-law's wedding.I look mahoosive (saw friends for dinner night before last who I'd last seen when was 12 weeks pregnant and their first words were "wow, that baby's grown!" ) so will be cunningly using my toddler as a bump concealer for most of the wedding....

dinkystinky · 11/09/2008 09:01

P.S. Rosie - congrats on the blue bump! I was so certain DS was going to be a little girl I went into shock when sonographer told us he was a little boy - but I wouldnt change him for the world. He is sooo loving compared to my friends' little girls the same age - and a total mummy's boy.... Boy babies are great, but top tip - when changing their nappies, have a muslin to hand to block the wee sprays (voice of experience speaking there!)

rosieposey · 11/09/2008 09:33

Dinky have a lovely holiday and thanks for the tips - i need all i can get get! I was in total shock too - i was sooo convinced he was a she but im having a good laugh here about boys weeing everywhere - im sure with some practice though i will have his changing sorted without having to get changed myself! Im rather fixated on red wellies as well - there is nothing cuter than little boys in red wellies The group you need to join is: mumsnet mums due feb 2009

McDreamy · 11/09/2008 09:39

Boys pooey bottoms are so much easier to clean - there's nowhere for it all to go IYSWIM

Boys are lovely to cuddle, girls are great too but boys are very cuddly!! We're into squeezy cuddles at the moment and "I love you mummy"

I'm so undecided, one minute I want a girl next I want a boy. DD (aged 5) is convinced this is a boy (although she is desparate for a little sister) because mummy has been a bit poorly this last week or so - boys are annoying like that apparently

america · 11/09/2008 09:45

Ooh, Rosie congratulations! I think that we are having a girl this time but my scan is not before mid-October... Is it too hasty to go and buy a little pink dress now?

I was offered a seat in the train this morning. I thought that I've been hiding my bump well under a tent dress and a jacket but obviously not. Boss is back tomorrow so I better attack her first thing in the morning...

McDreamy · 11/09/2008 09:48

ooooh am feeling the baby move today - yaay!!!!

had a big movement about 2 weeks ago and then nothing but this morning have had several "sensations"

mrsy · 11/09/2008 10:33

I can beat fainting in a restaurant. How's pucking in the ice-cream aisle at Morrison's? And then yesterday in the Asda car park after the scan...
Must be something about supermarkets!!!

Nadsss - I'm with you on the sleep thing. I've always slept half on my side half on my front (top half on front, then with one leg lifted so lower half is on side, twisted at my waist) but can't do that, so I'm going to sleep on my side, but I keep waking up on my front, and then am petrified that I've squashed her - even wondered if that's why /i haven't felt any flutters?!

I am so desperate to feel some movement. May even resort to lucozade, although I agree - it's yucky!

dinkystinky · 11/09/2008 11:14

Mrsy - milky drinks do it for me everytime: Squiglet goes crazy in there. Also have a pair of Topshop maternity pjs that have a big wide band that sits just where the uterus is at present - squiglet spends most of the night giving the waistband a good kicking when I wear those...

You can do lying on your back until at least 20 weeks (its after that stage that they say the vena cava thing comes in) - you may like to put a pillow under your knees for some reason makes some women more comfortable - though if you're a front sleeper probably not much help to you...

TinkerBellesMum · 11/09/2008 11:35

McDreamy I used to in my first two pregnancies, before they put me on anticoagulation, all the time. I used to do it while I was walking and didn't see the signs so I would have a dramatic fall.

I wouldn't worry about where you lie, you won't do any "damage" without feeling uncomfortable so you will move if you need to. You won't do anything to the baby, it's all about your own comfort.

mrsy, I think it could be something to do with supermarkets. With my autoimmune disease it's common to get reactions to supermarket lights. There is also a variance in the temperature in supermarkets as you go between aisles, I can't go down freezer aisles when I'm pregnant and sometimes the fridges too.
