Chill out GWTMH . Warm bath, chocolate, trashy magazine and a virgin colada!

bethoo - MN has always had the capability to be bitchy, but I genuinely don't think that any offence was meant by the comments made (not the orig one anyway). It was just an ill thought out remark that raised a few shackles on our side of the fence. We've said our piece and best to forget all about it now I think.

Had a result on getting a TENS machine. A friend offered me one but said it only has 2 pads, and then saw my doula today and she has one with 4 pads that she will lend me, so no need for me to go to Tesco after all.

bethoo · 31/08/2008 20:24

i was induced but have cannot compare it with a natural one yet! thoug hthe mw said it was unusually fast but it may just be the way i labour so wait and see! it was painful adn as soon as a contraction was ending another was starting. so no breaks in bwtween!

star6 · 31/08/2008 20:27

and
OK
DH and I had a bit of an incident today when trying to... um.... be intimate - baby was moving around, poking things out of my belly, moving quite a bit at not such a great moment! It totally freaked DH out! he was like "we canNOT do this anymore... there is a little PERSON in there!" and the look on his face.... I don't want to think about it.
He has no problem (and hasn't ever) playing with the baby as it moves around in my bump... enjoys this a lot, just seems like he doesn't fancy me anymore!
To be honest, it doesn't bother me at all as my sex drive is really low at the moment... has been mostly throughout pregnancy, but for some reason it bothers me that he doesn't want it!! I thought I would be so appreciative if he lost interest, but now I just feel awful and fat and ugly! I know it's ridiculous, but I want to cry.

bethoo · 31/08/2008 20:32

str6 men are funny buggars! he is probably one of those men who thinks he will poke baby on head with his willy! dont worry about it, it is quite normal for some men to react this way and it no way means you are fat and unnatractive. you have a tiny bump so defo not fat! cos your bump is small the movements are probably more pronounced, i know mine are! chin up and make the most of no more proddings in the back by his manhood!
are you sure you want him there for the birth/ he may faint

star6 · 31/08/2008 20:38

Thanks, Bethoo... he will most certainly faint. I'm putting a bottle of water to throw on him in my hospital bag. He can't even stay in the room when I have a blood test.

I do quite like the idea of not feeling badly for not wanting it now... but I just want him to want it, make sense? Probably not!

He said it's the "baby's space now" and "we should just leave him alone" until he gets here.... I'm 34 weeks... never known him to go an entire MONTH without. This shall be interesting.

bethoo · 31/08/2008 20:45

remember there are other things that you can do intimitly bloody heck cant spell! it is understandable that though we may not want it we expect that they still do, i guess we still need that reassurance that as beached whales blooming ladies we are still gorgeous to our man!

sambrads · 31/08/2008 21:37

hello ladies i went for a walk around the shops today and have come home feeling alot of pain .she is also moving loads and it is becoming very very painful!!!!
i feel she may pop out

so so excited as i have my last scan tomorrow unless i end up going to 40 weeks and i will get another one .

i will be 36 weeks on tuesday how scary is that only 1 week til conidered full term

rosebury · 31/08/2008 22:01

Evening ladies had a very rough night last night very uncomfortable achey tummy eventually got up at 3am with very strong bh i really thought that it could be the start of labour and started tidying up just in case it all kicked off, went back to bed at 5am awoke this morning feeling a lot better.

Ds goes back to school tomorrow which means that dh takes him and I have the option of going back to bed oh what bliss.

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 31/08/2008 22:21

thanks girls...all came to a head with me slamming doors, DH shouting at me and me leaving the house in tears, without a phone, turning up 40mins later to apologies, kisses, chocolate and wake up sex...feel like a right numpty now...wonderful DH has been lovely and now cracking on with work! argh hormones

star6 aw honey sounds like he really is just freaking out about the baby, not that he doesn't still fancy you...he'll prob be begging you for it in a week again, in the meantime enjoy not feeling guilty about saying no

i keep getting too knackered for it too but get silly and hormonal and upset when he doesn't constantly try to jump my bones!

bethoo · 01/09/2008 09:21

i dotn think i have had any BH tbh, doubt i would know what one feels like as get aches and pains anyway! mostly in bed especially when turning over!
i must admit that i dotn feel tired, in fact i feel full of energy whcih makes me worry that somethign is not right! surely i should be drained and look rough? i have been told i look great but i have so much make up on i look like Jordan on a shoot!
i even bought some cheap heeled boots from New Look on saturday and have worn them today!
got mw app so may say something. then if all ok i am off to order my new buggy! i hope i can get it by the time baby is born which should be in 5 weeks as 35 weeks today! Yay.
my frined had her baby girl on sunday mornign at about 4am, she was 6lb 8 or something and only 3 days early so a littley

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 01/09/2008 09:34

ps I clearly meant make up sex, not wake up....and he was the one apologising, in case that wasn't clear either!

sambrads · 01/09/2008 09:54

oh my goodness bethoo wearing heels is out of the question for me at the moment i acn hardly put one foot infront of the other in flip lops never mind heels!!!

i did envy all the women wearing beautiful clothes yesterday feel that i am wearing the same old crap day in day out i also noticed alot of new mums looking glamourous beautiful hair make up on face and lovely figures i swear if i get a cahnce to wash my face i will be shocked

bethoo · 01/09/2008 09:57

they are low heels only about 2 inches high.

perkypopsy · 01/09/2008 13:29

Hey star I felt exactly the same as you - not really massively up for it myself but guuted DH not trying to jump my bones - worked myself up to telling him - then took an alternative tack - basically pointed out had to dd at least 6 weeks once baby born where sex out of question - sao at the time he was looking at a 2-3 month dry period - and bingo we were back in business again . Not doing it all the time (like our pregnancy vixen bethoo ) but enough so i still feel attractive...god we women are so bloddy fickle ha ha

perkypopsy · 01/09/2008 13:30

hmmm some of that sentence doesn't make sense sorry am shit at everything these days - even typing

rosebury · 01/09/2008 17:11

Bethoo even small heels out of the question flip flops rule in this house even if it is raining it keeps the feet cool anyway what are you doing mulling around the shops you obviously do have a lot of energy but please do not worry about it i am pretty sure that you will soon run out of steam.

Perky I have a lot of sex but it certainly does not make me feel attractive in any way it eases the aches and pains leaves me feeoing content and easier to fall asleep.

Ds went back to school today and so I went back to be and got up at 10.30am. I did feel emotional waving him off for his first day in a new class but ggot over it quite quickly.

hope we all have a good evening hormones allowing.

Lozza70 · 01/09/2008 17:28

Soo tired after another day at work and was planning not to finish for another 3 weeks when I'll be 37 weeks! Feeling like I'm a bit mad especially as I am a London tube commuter . Anyone else planning to work to 37 weeks or longer?

Sleeping has also become more difficult with sore hips and bladder causing much tossing and turning, damn Mother nature and her ways of preparing you for disturbed sleep once the baby arrives

star6 · 01/09/2008 18:29

I have an ear infection.
Just wanted to whinge, actually.
It hurts
And I'm congested and my whole class (of 5-7 year olds) wanted to know why I "changed my voice" over the weekend.

bethoo · 01/09/2008 18:41

seen mw today and baby has engaged and according to her the baby will stay there now. my blood pressure is up to 110/60 from the usual 80/40 and she asked if i had swelling of my hands and feet so bloody paranoid about pre-eclampsia now! i also have an UTI as blood, leurocytes and nitrates found in it! so got to drop off a sample tomorrow. i did feel a bit of stinging but nothing serious! could be my GBS just have to wait and see i guess.
ds has just hit me with a crouton and he is ion his high chair, he has such good aim but dog is clearing it up for me they come in handy!
s oat lease that will explain why i feel ok as baby has dropped so no longer crushing ky lungs!
hope everyone else who has had mw app went well.

sambrads · 01/09/2008 18:48

hahaha star about the kids bless them

not good about your ear infection can you get anything from the doctor for it???

well ladies think its my turn to moan!!!!!

went to hospital today for my 35 weeks scan went in got blood pressure checked got bloods done for my thyroid then she told me to get up on the bed .
i was so so excited about seeing my wee princess then she pulled out a DOPPLER!!!!!!

i was like what the hell do you need that for ?? i asked her was she not scanning me and she said no there was no need as eveything felt ok !!!!

i am gutted to say the least its so depressing as i wanted to see her so much!!
my friend who is due the same day as me went for her scan today and was told that she was breech !!!!! how the hell will they know if im not breech???? then to make matters worse she said see you on 2nd october !!!

i said i will not be seeing you in october as i know that means induction and i dont want it this time oh i could no cope going over my due date again its the most head wrecking experience!!!!!

sorry for the rant but i really do feel cheated

Lozza70 · 01/09/2008 18:57

Why were you getting a scan? Here, NE London, you only get the dating or nucal fold scan at 12 weeks and then one at 20 weeks. Nothing at all after that unless there is a problem.

star6 · 01/09/2008 19:16

how many posts can a thread hold?

sambrads · 01/09/2008 19:25

we get scans at 12 weeks 22 weeks 29 weeks and 35 weeks which i dont think is near enough never mind only 2 lozza70

i think a thread holds 1000 posts

star6 · 01/09/2008 19:42

oh we're close to a new thread! How exciting

rowanmac · 01/09/2008 19:48

sambrads up here in the sticks we get a scan at 12 weeks and thats it. I got one at 18 weeks but only so they could see where to stick the amnio needle. They don't do scans at 20 weeks (like it says in the NICE guidelines) because they feel it finds too any problems that actually aren't problems. In other words they can't afford it. So if your child is born with a heart defect its into the helicopter asap and down to Yorkhill. Not good.

ronshar I find the 'am I a bad mother for doing.....' question just requires a bit of Alastair Campbell like spin. ie I do not want sick on the carpet because the time spent clearing it up could be spent instead drinking tea caring for your little one.

Was woken up by contractions at midnight, lasted over an hour, tried to calm myself down as had been dreaming labour ward was closed and there was no one there! Then DS started coughing so that was it until 3am. A bit tired now and bump tightening again. I'm only 33 weeks. The stupidest things go through your head, like I haven't cleaned the bathroom yet never mind the poor baby will be in SCBU.

star the rowan refers to the house name which is because of the trees we have. The only Rowans I know are boys. I think its a good name but can't really use it as would be a tad confusing.
