CantSleepWontSleep · 30/08/2008 15:08

Yes misdee - 9:50 scan iirc then clinic afterwards. Did you accept me as a friend on facebook, as I can give you my number on there if you did?

Found the comment sambrads, and left one of my own.

star advice from Physio is that you hold everything in like stopping having a wee and passing wind (so drawing in your back passage too) and hold for a count of 10 if you able but you also must remember to breath and not try keep rest of body relaxed. You may not be able to hold for 10 every one is different. Count to 10 between each one too. The other one is 10 short ones so draw in 10 times 1 after the other, these are the ones that work when you stop yourself from weeing, the longer ones keep the muscles firm and strong. They say to do them when you rememeber and people should not notice you are doing them! Just when you are waking up, eating breakfast or driving to work etc.

Am off to wedding this afty, when out last night too. Am going to be tired me thinks!!!!

Sorry posted twice!!!!
Have posted on sept thread!

sambrads · 30/08/2008 16:00

hi ladies only getting a chance to come back on now

csws and jenwa you fairly told them
its a bit sad how some of them are getting really nasty with there comments !!
we welcome anyone here to ask questions or to get some info but you cant even look at there thread !!!
it will be quite funny if they end up having babies in october with no thread to go on hahaha

anyway i am sure you all we agree and hopefully get what i mean when i say that we all have a life and dont sit all day on mumsnet. its not about how many messages on a thread but the friends and advice you get

CantSleepWontSleep · 30/08/2008 16:05

It doesn't really matter when we give birth though Sambrads - their group will stay together just as we will regardless of the exact DOB.

And you speak for yourself about having a life and not sitting all day on MN .

have posted on due september thread also

star6 · 30/08/2008 17:27

exciting! A feud between antenatal threads... don't mess with pregnant women! ha!

star6 · 30/08/2008 17:28

Thanks, Jenwa! Oh the things that midwives just don't tell us!!!

star6 · 30/08/2008 18:06

I have spent SIX HOURS cleaning today. DH did a lovely job and cleaned windows...etc stuff he normally wouldn't think of at all, but neglected all of the little drops of paint that he splattered everywhere when he was "touching up" with paint... had to chisel off of bathroom and kitchen tiles and some parts of wood floor as well... and on radiators, refrigerator, stove.... uuuuuuuuughhhhhhhhhhhh! DH believes firmly in sweeping not hoovering... why??? I have no idea. I believe in hoovering once per day. I left it 2 days thinking he'd take over as we have the other kind of hoover (not the upright one - dh's choice!) but no go.. just sweeping. So I've hoovered as well. And organized all of the paperwork and books once again (he had moved the bookcase to put something up and taken it all down in random order.

I know I sound like a crazy person but 6 hours has me knackered!!! I did take some MN breaks, though. Lower back is throbbing and feeling sharp pains in lower right front. Right ear and right side of throat also hurting now and I think I have a fever! Falling apart

I'm sure all will be well in a few hours after some rest.
sorry for the long rant!

rosebury · 30/08/2008 18:57

hello ladies off to read sept thread now be back later.

sambrads · 30/08/2008 19:09

oh my star6 why dont you comeround to my house and clean
think you have totally over done it lie up get a foot massage from your dh and relax

do you think we can start a new thread and keep in touch when we all have our babies like a support and advice thread ??

rosebury · 30/08/2008 19:16

There is a message from starlightmckenzie page 19 at 18.20 on sept thread trying to justify the comment made earlier.

perkypopsy · 30/08/2008 19:48

Hi Ladies, anyone got a sling - my Doula recommended the hug-a-bub? Also, someone mentionned tescos tens machines - howdo I find out about one?
p.s. had to go check out the messages but don't really understand them - pregnancy brain - and now DH wants puter back ...off to watch morse

mum2jakeyroo - just read your post in "pregnancy". I hope all is well and that you're feeling better? Any more news on results? All that travel probably didn't make things a lot better for you, either. You poor thing!

rowanmac · 31/08/2008 13:56

ronshar I don't think running to the bathroom with an about to vomit child makes you a bad mother more like a highly skilled and practical one. I did the same after DS vomited on nursery carpet on Christmas Eve. You try and get a professional carpet cleaner on Christmas Eve. The next time he hiccuped he was over the bath so fast he had jet lag.

sambrads I hope you are feeeling better, it sounds grim.

All of you having a hard time seem to be so calm about it and not whinging at all. V impressed.

star6 SIX hours of cleaning! I did an hour and a half this am and am now shattered. Its probably due to lack of practice on my part.

star6 · 31/08/2008 17:41

ha!!! LOL "jet lag" Rowanmac!
When I see your name, it reminds me... I wanted to name our little boy "rowan" when he arrives.. it was one of the two we had narrowed it down to... I was in LOVE with this name, and know that it can be a male or female name... but I loved it for a boy! WELL... we were at friend's house last weekend and they said to DH that they thought it was a girl's name... DH didn't even know it was unisex.... NOW he won't even consider it anymore!! I was so upset with them.. but I know they didn't do it on purpose, they could not have known that I was keeping that detail from him, I still love them... just VERY disappointed that the name I fell so much in love with and thought of for our baby is now off the table

ronshar · 31/08/2008 18:54

Star, it may turn out to be a girl yet so hold on until baby has arrived. Unless you had 4D scan and you are 100% certain. Not to panic you though.

Rowan, I am glad it isnt just me that worries about sick on the carpet.

Pops. Boots also do Tens hire. You have to book in for a little chat about how to use it and the what not to dos. My local one gives them out from 39 weeks. However I have just found out my pharmacy also do them and you can take it whenever. LLoyds pharmacy also hire them out.

ronshar · 31/08/2008 18:58

Myjob, congrats on making it to maternity leave. It is always nice knowing you dont have to get up in the morning.

Also popsy be careful with slings as you have bad back. Try not to get stuck always having to carry baby around with you to settle. It can get very boring and also very difficult to go to the loo. Also DH will feel very left out eventually.

star6 · 31/08/2008 19:08

Ronshar - It was just our 21 weeks scan... oh no! We have loads of boy clothes!
At my growth scan last week they kept referring to baby as "him"... but maybe they just have masculine bias and "he" is their generic term - very possible.

bethoo · 31/08/2008 19:32

just read the bit on sept thread and very disapointed tbh, not in us but the mummiyummi or whatever her name is. recently i have found that mn has becime rather bitchy of late and always felt the ante natal threads were safe from that but sadly not.
we must be the nice thread!

my ds has learnt and conquered the filthy look today! i have had 3 so far for no apparant reason!

GirlWithTheMouseyHair · 31/08/2008 20:14

must go and have a peek on sept thread now, am all intrigued...

am, in a right strop with DH, he was supposed to show me web design this weekend and finish building a website we've done for a client but has spent the whole fucking day on his playstation...then has the cheek to say he's been asking for my help for weeks, which is bollocks and I've done everything he's asked me to towards it as well as constantly cleaning and cooking...am so pissed off cos it's him so made such a big deal of me learning so I have another form of income and he doesn't seem to give a shit that this client needs it done by wednesday and he's had 2 sodding months to do it

argh.......he works for playstation too so no bloody excuse that he only gets to play on the weekends...am so so angry, someone tell me to chill out and then tell me how!!

loulou33 · 31/08/2008 20:20

Hi all
ajm 8lb 4oz at 37 weeks - wow!! I am hoping this one won't be that big. Ds was 7lbs7 at 40 weeks but will ask consulant when he scans me next week what size he reckons (not sure he'll commit himself though). I would really like not to have a c section and have asked to at least tyr ot be induced. Consultant originally said i couldn't as risk of uterine rupture after last c-section goes from 1% to 3% - i am prepared to take that extra 2% risk i think!!!

Like you ajm i had heard that induction makes labour very painful very quickly. last time i was at home until i was 6cm and did not really have too much pain until waters broke. Anyway will know more on weds

star6 · 31/08/2008 20:21

Sorry to hear that, gwmh!! for you!
All I can say is that it sounds quite typical... boys and video games, regardless of age, responsibilities...etc. I don't know how to win that battle. I hope someone comes along who does know.
Is it a project you were supposed to be working on together? A lot of men I know are procrastinators. I'm sure it will all turn out ok and will be done for wednesday, he will pull through (I hope!).
