Anyone else out there? Just got faint, but definitely there, BFP.

Due 1st April, according to those dodgy due date calculators.

ruddynorah · 01/08/2008 14:57

hello maths mummy.

so that's me, you and foxymagoo all due on the 6th!

Jumbs · 01/08/2008 15:19

Hello to all the new BFPS! getting quite a gang now, yay! Where has littlemy gone? This is her thread!

I don't know what to do about the booking in appt. Where I live (in the SW near Bristol btw Scrumptious bumptious) you have an initial appt. at 10 wks then booking in at 12wks (no scan until 20 wks at all you 12 & 20 wk scanners on nhs!).

Trouble is I'm on holiday for weeks 10&11 so don't know whether to see if they'll let me have one at 9 weeks or go straight for the 12wk one. I only had the 12wk one last time as I didn't even ring the docs until 9 wks!

I think I will tell my family before I go on holiday, so around 9 weeks and work when I come back (11wks). I keep nearly letting cat out of bag though by saying things at work like "But I won't be here next May"!

foxymagoo · 01/08/2008 15:34

Welcome all new BFPs!

I also feel like my periods are about to start but I think implantation is similar to pre-menstrual cramps and your body is also adjusting to not shedding the lining so your going to feel perdiody..

We get booked in at 8 weeks, scans at 12 and 20 and early scans if required for reassurance. Having to wait 'til 20 weeks is totaly unfair!

I've not made Doctor appt yet. Tried to yesterday on my day off but it was engaged. Will try tonight after work.

I was wondering where littlemy was too...

OddEyes · 01/08/2008 16:28

Wow, am sooo exhausted! So early on too, not looking forward to the next 8 months now!
I think i will book a gp appointment after holiday - probably after my 7 week hospital scan (cause of mc i can turn up unrefered for scan). Just will save all the checking. But know that need to be done round then for getting a scan date sorted for end of Sept/start of Oct.
Try this pregancy calculator it tells whereyou will be up to when:
pregnancy.about.com/cs/pregnancycalendar/l/blpregcalc.htm
I am off to bed!

Hi, I'm new on this and my friend recommended it as she's on it all the time. Period due a week ago and keep doing tests, 1st 2 last weekend were negative, then through the week they've been positive, however after a positive last night i have a negative today (although it is digital negative and the line is there when you pull the stick back out) but they are still very faint! My 1st pregnancy was so obvious as 4 days late and big blue line so i'm nervous about this one! anyone else had this?

babyshoes · 01/08/2008 17:50

i forgot to say hello first! how rude of me - HELLO and congatulations to all you definites.

Mathsmummuy: Due 6th April, DD 2yrs 10 months?
Babyshoes: Due ?

oops - need a few more details babyshoes.

It's amazing how much things like scas and appointments vary depending on where you live. I think I would be getting terribly impatient if I had to wait until 20 weeks for a scan. Does this mean that most people end up paying for a private 12 week one?

How is everyone feeling? I'm feeling absolutely shattered today (but DD was up teething from 4.30 am too. Yawn.) Feeling a bit sick too but loving it as it is just confirming what's going on inside. I still can't believe it.

oddeyes - I loved that preganancy calender link.

So - is anyone changing anything they're doing now they're pregnant? I am generally quite healthy, but am trying to cut out all the cakes and rubbish for a while as never quite lost the last few pregnancy pounds and don't want to get too big too quick!

mathsmummy27 · 01/08/2008 21:09

I am trying yoga tomorrow! Never been one for that sort of thing but thought I'd try it. Anyone done it before?

mrsfossil · 01/08/2008 22:00

Hello ladies can i join i had a bfp 2 days ago well i tested again today because i'm still in shock. I have a ds age 6.5 and i've been ttc for 4 years!!! After being diagnosed with unexplained infertility me and the hubby have just completed our 1st go at iui ang bingo its worked.

Does anyone know if i might get an early scan to check its all ok or will i have to wait until 12 weeks. If i have to wait that long i know i will be buying more tests.

OddEyes · 01/08/2008 22:39

Welcome mrsfossil and babyshoes Re early scans - at all my local london hospitals you need a referal from your gp to go to the epu (early pregnancy unit) and they will only tend to give them if there seems to be something wrong. Because I have been to epu before I can self refer for reassurance. You can buy them privately though, I know a few ladies who have done this in another thread, think they paid ~£70-£100.
ScrumptiousBumptious - same re weight still have my baby weight from ds and really don't want anymore. although a few more cakes have passed my lips in recent days with the excuse of baby and exhaustion - I am so ill disciplined - but this will change...tomorrow!
babyshoes - sorry don't know much about hcg levels, think they double every week. I hope you reassured and more certain soon
back to bed!

JenJam · 01/08/2008 23:02

Hello Easter Bunnies. Congratulations! I have a feint pink line on my first response test this morning. it's so feint that I had to blink several times while looking at it, then I turned the stick sideways, longways walked around the flat to check it in various different light. Definately a feint pink line. I tried a digital after lunch just to check, and got a not pregnant message - obviously less sensitive. I'm now intrigued by someones comment earlier that you can take apart a digital test and see the old fashioned mechanics. of course am now going to see what's inside the plastic. This testing malarky is addictive isn't it? I'm going to have to do another as I won't accept it as definite until i see a more definite test result. If I am pregnant, it'll be my second and would be due 15th April!! I live in North London and have a DS who is 30-something months (3 this November).

babyshoes · 02/08/2008 07:34

Hi, think i'm going to leave this thread for now as not feeling confident about how this is going to go.
Good luck everyone, fingers crossed i'm back but before i leave, i did baby yoga with my first DS (28 months)and re. the digital tests, you can relese the stick from the main digi bit to look at the lines

ScrumptiousBumptious · 02/08/2008 07:41

Ooh - so sorry for adding you so early babyshoes - am new to all this too. Fingers crossed for you that you get your BFP, and hope to see you again on here. I'll have another fiddle with that list and take you off for a bit.

Good Luck!

Sorry - forgot to say hello to you JenJam. Your faint line on the FR sounds very promising (I got a ridiculously faint line on a FR last Sun, and it got stronger every day this week.) Hope it's definite for you.

I didn't make the link that our babies will be Easter Bunnies! How exciting! Although Easter can be in March can't it? Or is that a really stupid question. Will have to check when it falls next year.

mrsfossil, you must be so thrilled after TTC for 4 years! A huge congratulations! I don't know anything about early scans though I'm afraid.

Yoga sounds good mathsmummy. I've never done it before, but it sounds like good pregnancy excercise. I have taken up swimming again. It's funny - slobbed about for the last 13 months after DD, then find out I'm pregnant and suddenly want to be healthy and fit again!

ScrumptiousBumptious · 02/08/2008 08:02

Looks like Easter Monday falls about the 13th April 2009 by the way!

lixanismapolium · 02/08/2008 09:28

Hello again ladies! Did another test this morning and the line is ever so slightly darker!! At least DH could see it today, he thought it was totally in my imagination yesterday

If it's darker again tomorrow I will add myself to the list

foxymagoo · 02/08/2008 13:18

Congrats to all new BPFs especially mrsfossil

I still made it to my 10am spin class this morning BUT did follow it up with massive bacon roll.

Just waiting for morning sickness to kick in T minus 10 days me thinks...

babyshoes sending positive vibes...

mathsmummy27 · 02/08/2008 17:18

Ooh yoga was great. And I got chips on the way home

Jumbs · 02/08/2008 21:12

Hi Everyone,

Babyshoes - sending you positive vibes! Fingers crossed.

I don't have the testing bug! I've got a spare first response (bogof) and might have to use it just for the sake of it. There is no doubt I'm pg as my tummy hurts I have the metallic taste (didn't have it last time, its horrible isn't it!) and I'm starting to feel queasy! Kicked in at 6 wks last time, so like you Foxymagoo I'm on countdown. Been and bought the salty foods today as that was my saviour last time!

Trying to limit the rubbish and continue exercising. Did a bit of cross trainer earlier but hadn't eaten enough and starting to feel light headed.

i had a pregnancy yoga dvd last time which was brill, but only really made sense when I started to get a bumb. Chips sound yum though Mathsmummy. I want some now I'm thinking about them!

I am getting clumsy, I dropped DS out of my arms earlier onto his back on the bedroom floor. I feel so guilty but luckily he is a toughy and didn't seem too upset.

Does anyone know any bloating cures? I'm getting it bad and it makes me look about 4 months gone!!!

Jumbs

ScrumptiousBumptious · 03/08/2008 10:27

Morning everyone,

Lix, did you test again? Hope it got darker for you.

babyshoes fingers crossed for you too.

Wow, I'm impressed with the spin classes and yoga going on (and envious of the chips!) I debated excercise yesterday but am feeling sick sick sick already - that started at 6 weeks before! Maybe I'm 6 weeks now? Hmmmmmm.
It stopped at 11 weeks though so not toooo bad.

My only craving last time was ice and that didn't kick in till later. Ice and strawberry cheesecake Haagen Daaz ice cream of course!

I'm not sure about bloating cures jumbs. I noticed it a little yesterday evening too. I'll look into it. (Sorry if TMI here, but does anyone get rather 'windy' in this first early bit? No? Oh me neither then.)

Close family have started to ask me already if I'm pregnant. Not cause you can tell, but because of drinking etc. It's so hard to keep it a secret. Especially when people are actively looking out for it to happen. I am determined not to tell for as long as possible though. I love it being mine and DH secret for a bit.

Have a good day everyone.

mathsmummy27 · 03/08/2008 10:48

I have given in and told...
Scrumptious the wind is not just you!! Poor DH last night!

lixanismapolium · 03/08/2008 11:24
