Come on I can't be the ONLY one!!! I got my BFP this morning - I think I'm due around the 12th March...

No real symptoms yet other than slightly weary this afternoon, and quite bad backache.

Not too hopeful JUST yet as very early days and had a m/c last year. Already have a DD (2.5)

Don't leave me here on my own too long!!

I dont think it makes a differance Boobz, personally i think would prefer to see the midwife after

winemakesmummyclever · 31/07/2008 09:12

I thought it was always that way. Scan first, then down to ANC for it to be reviewed, then full booking in appt (incl. bloods, weight & urinalysis) with senior mw. That's how it works here. It is usually all done on the same day though - shame that you have to go back and forth so many times Boobz. Plus, (knowing the NHS)you'll have plenty of time waiting around to think up lots of questions for the mw when you do get to see her .

Morning All. Congrats on the good scans ladies. Playing - how was your early scan?
Nausea a little better this morning - definitely sugary things a no-no, but surely that will help to counteract the fact that I'm grazing all day?!
Anyone else waking up during the night with insomnia? Last 3 nights, i've been up at ca. 3/4am for at least 1/2 an hour. Last night went into spare room, so I could do sudoku and not disturb DH. On the plus side, I ate a cracker too and that seemed to help MS a little. I was so fast asleep when my alarm went off this morning though! So were DH and DS - typical on a morning when DS is at childminder for 7.30am - bless. Roll on tomorrrow morning, no work for me and hopefully we can all have a lie-in.
MKG - well done on the fasting. I think if I had to do that now, I would literally keel over and be very ill.
THW - sorry to hear boobs are painful.

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 10:15

Morning all,

Went for my early scan last night. Went fine, just the one bean, quite clear to see with a very obvious heartbeat. Obviously didn't really look anything like a baby but it was quite clear that there was something alove and growing in me! . So according to the scan I am 8+3 today.

Boobz, are lot seems to work a bit differently. I see the same MW all the way through, not a team. I have already had my booking in apt with the MW and had all my bloods taken yesterday. I then have my nuchal scan on the 26th August and go back to the MW on Sept 3rd.

Also re telling work, I was determined not to tell till 12 weeks. But my performance really slipped and I look pretty ill, so my boss noticed and was worried abotu me so I just had to be honest, particularly as I have had to spend a bit of time being ill in the toilet. I am so glad I was, its much easier that he knows. No one else at work knows of course and I will keep that quiet till 12 weeks.

Morning all!

I still can't believe my bfp from Monday. I had to wee on another stick yesterday, which came up positive straight away, and so strong in colour it was untrue!

I've not been sick yet, but get waves of feeling really sicky. Last year when I had my mmc I didn't feel sick at all, so I'm taking this as a good sign.

I'm trying not to panic before my first scan on the 11th, as I'm very close to when my first bean stopped growing. I remember sitting in the waiting room watching other ladies coming out with their pictures, and I really want it to be me this time. I wish I could fast forward a few days!

Anyone else impatient, or is it me...

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 10:45

Yep completely impatient Grinning. Thats why I paid for an ealry scan, could wait another 4 weeks!

Morning all, playing your scan sounds good, congrats!

Did I already say I booked my MW booking in appt on the 23rd of August - blimin' ages away! The scan won't be for another couple of weeks after that. My nausea is building very slowly, had a terrible wave of it this morning when I opened the dishwasher to add something whilst it was running and the heat and mixed up smell of dirty dishes.................yuk.

I had a call from DS nursery this morning and asked to pick him up as he has suspected chicken pox - been to see the doctor and she's confirmed it, which means I have no child care and can't go to work today! Shame its raining as he'd love to play outside. So far he's OK, he's only got about a dozen spots but they do seem to be in the increase! This is the third time he's had suspected CP but the only time that I believe it actually is. Good job I've had it as a child.

grinningbee · 31/07/2008 11:54

I know what you mean about waves of sickness.

The day I bought my test I was in the co-op buying sausages. Stood in front of the shelf looking at them and felt really sick. The same happened on Tuesday while looking at icecream. I have no problem eating it, just standing in the shop seems to do it!

I've seriously got the munchies today... already had weetabix and a banana but really want some crisps...

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 12:59

I'm eating something every 2-3 hours. Can't go longer without feeling really sick. Can't seem to eat much at a time but eat lots over the course of a day. Probably a good thing on the days I am sick (so I actually digest some food) but probably not so good on the days when I am not sick!

woollyjo · 31/07/2008 13:21

Just slinking off, my second mc appears to be running its course. Rang the GP weds am and the earliest scan I could get was saturday am! last time it took 5 days to be seen!

Think all will be done and dusted by them

auntyspan · 31/07/2008 13:27

I'm just eating what I fancy at the moment, some days I eat like a horse (like today ) , although yesterday I was totally off everything, even quiche tasted disgusting. Not worrying about weight or anything until my second trimster - it's the only way I can cope with this darned sickness!!

Afternoon Ladies!! Haven't you all been busy?! Its almost time for a new thread!!

I haven't been on for a while due to being too damn tired! I did try to post last night but my computer kept timing out!! All is good my end...just impatiently waiting for my scan on the 12th! It is my birthday tomorrow so that should help distract me!! Although I won't be able to drink...and my birthday is one of the very few occasions at which I drink!! Oh well, it will all be worht it in the end!!

We are telling DPs dad on sunday and I am so nervous...he is the first family member we will have told (my dad is away now until september with my mum joining him next week, and I want to tell my parents together!) It all seems a little more real!

Hope everyone is well!!

grinningbee · 31/07/2008 14:07

Sorry Woollyjo

((((hugs))))

Lets us know how you are.

Playingthe9monthwait · 31/07/2008 14:09

Woolly - I am really sorry to hear that . Fingers crossed its not as bad as you fear.

Hi Emma, know what you mean, I was absent for a few days. Combination of being busy at work, feeling sick and so so tired.

Boobz · 31/07/2008 14:40

Oh god Woolyjo - how fucking awful. I'm so sorry. I am scared stiff that I'm not even carrying a bean any more myself, which is of no comfort to you, but please know we're all thinking of you.

My husband thinks me coming on here and posting on forums all day is pretty sad, but then I tell him when we lose one of our new friends, so soon, because of mc and he soon shuts up and realises it's good to not be going through this alone.

I hope it's better than you think Woolyjo -- surely you can insist on a scan for tomorrow, at least?

SpookyMadMummy · 31/07/2008 14:52

calsworld · 31/07/2008 15:12

Sorry Woolyjo , rest as much as you can and be kind to yourself over the coming days, and hope the scan is not traumatic...can you push for a sooner one? Two days seems like a long wait to me.

So sorry woolyjo what on earth are your health service playing at!!

Are there any other hospitals local (ish) that you could ask to refered to? i believe you are now entitiled to be refered to anywhere in the country. Some hospitals have any early pregnancy drop in, give your GP another call (or get someone else to) and get them to find somewhere that can see you sooner.

Mandy73 · 31/07/2008 17:19

So sorry for your loss Woolyjo. xx

winemakesmummyclever · 31/07/2008 17:28

Woolyjo - so so sorry for you. Can you not get to an A&E? Surely they would get you an emergency scan. Hope you get some news soon.
